Well personally side-scrollers or any "airplane" shooters are the hardest for me to finish unless i memorize the enemy patterns. Games like Gradius, Raiden, R-Type, Einhander for example were really hard...took alot of practice & patience & quick reflexes to elude the millions of bullets fired at you.....ghuughhhh |

People will probably disagree with me but I found Legend of Dragoon really challenging. Many of the bosses it took me many times to beat, I think I was underleveled though.
The next witty thing I think of and remember will likely end up here.

omg Jak 2 & 3! The first part (Jak & Dexter) was a kid's play (in fact a game for kids ^^), but the next two parts (especially 2) are really challenging. There were missions i had to repeat more than 15 times to make it! |

Hmm... I don't really find games challenging anymore. I used to have trouble with Mega Man X, but that fell into place quickly enough. Other people that I know have said that Star Ocean II is pretty hard towards the end... <_< |

I had some trouble with parts of Digital Devil Saga (I and II). That's really the only games that ever gave me trouble though. I initially had a hard time with Devil May Cry 3, although after the first boss there wasn't much trouble anymore. Now though I'm untouchable. |

Hmmmm... The only games that I really found challenging is those old airplane type games (Raiden and those stuff). I always get shot down.... And I think I saw the name "Omega Boost" for the PS1... *looks* Yeah, there is... that one, I got that when I was a kid, gone up to level 3 till I got 'bored' with it. All of my PS1 games and the PS1 itself is now long gone... -midori-chan
Death is just another great adventure...

Dunno... any logical game, games with 3d graphics. Supaplex is the hardest game ever :D Oh, and flash games: Crimson Room, Viridian Room are VERY hard also :) |

I can name challenging games ^^ i think... Pheonix Wright...it's semi-straitforward, but its pretty hard I think....sorta hehe Ephemeral Phantasia (ps2) This game is really challenging in my mind Alundra (PS1) This is based upon puzzles...hard but really fun. Final Fantasy 1 (Not for GBA) No map, and wandering off on your own can kill u lol |

I never finished FFX-II. It's not so much that the game was difficult as it is that the game was just plain boring for me. FFVII was that way for me also. I tried to play it because so many people have said it is their "all-time favourite game", but I just didn't care for it. Maybe I'm just not boyish enough to like that game. *shrugs* |
