@Shuy - I'll edit the title, I just put 2009 Edition there as a placeholder anyway. I don't know about a DJ category. I'm not in the chat very often, I admit that, but as far as I can tell (and don't take this the wrong way please) the DJ's would mostly be the same. They all have their own likes in music of course, but other members of chat request songs most of the time, and other than that it's all about personal taste. P.S - I'm honestly trying to get some categories done up, but Bayonetta came out today and I have a few days off from work, which means I'm hooked on playing it. ^^;    |

FORUM — Funniest Member of The Year Forumer of The Year Topic of The Year Forum of The Year Most Active Forumer of The Year Friendliest Member of The Year Club of The Year ---------------------- CHAT — Funniest Member of the Year Chatter of The Year Wedding of The Year Most Talkative Chatter of The Year Friendliest Member of The Year Ban of The Year ---------------------- OTHER POSSIBLE AWARDS — Graphic Artist of The Year Forum Game of The Year ---------------------- There's some stuff to start with? I can come up with more if you'd like ~ :] |

I agree with some of Shuy's ideas. Like the Graphic Artist of the year. But I don't think we should do the ban contest. We're not supposed to talk about bans after they happen :x. I'd like to help out but I don't really have any ideas that already haven't been said.

Oh, when I say Ban, I mean like someone getting booted in chat; as it's normally comical cept for the serious cases. However I see the point in not talking about them, haha! So yeah, forget that one; but Ive got more ideas to add when you're ready ~ |

@ Jon-san It's nice to see that someone is trying to put some life into the forums....the meaningful ones at least. I don't want to be a skeptic but i'm having doubts if this will even fly. I just posted a rant about the lack of participation in the forums of considerble importance. So i really do wish this will work out & if anyone can get it done it would be you. If you need anything done for this feel free to ask, whether it be judging or stuff. Even though i'm not online as much as i do, when i do get online i go through pages of stuff to see what is going on. Threads that i don't normally post i visit (physics & RP) sections.  |

Nice choices Shuy, for a start. And btw, this contest was around in '07, too. What about some of the old choices form the previous contests? I know I was a part of one, I think the last one, but I can't find the results. I'm thinking about it cause of the GFX Artist of the Year had a lot of active designers, but I can't remember any from '09, lol. And even now, they're all pretty inactive unfortunately. Then again you said we're only doing about dozen, so we're definitely voting on the best ones to keep. I'm glad more people suddenly came to the forums (for a change.... =3="). Maybe if people win awards of some sort the forums might be more active? XD

@DA- Yeah, that's where this talking is coming from, there's only going to be about a dozen because I don't want to create too many polls, so I can't just throw in or pick out a bunch of the old topics. A few of them will be returning though, just because their staples of the night. I would hope that people will at least get involved, people winning in the categories will get nifty little award logo's to put in their profiles (if they so desire). I actually quickly found this one in Bloodymoon's profile, and I'm happy to see that he proudly displays them as part of his profile. It makes me feel as though I didn't just waste everybody's time.  @Izumo-san - I understand that to be the case, but honestly, the past few awards nights didn't see that much participation anyway, so regardless of how active the forums are I can expect to at least get the same turn-out as in the past. By using the polling system that's in place now, I'm hoping to have more people vote since there won't be as much effort involved (people used to have to PM me in the past, so maybe some didn't bother to vote because it involved effort). I'm happy to see people here on this thread and showing even the slightest bit of interest in it. I really only expected the usual members to respond here, like DA, Izumo, and all the others who were part of it in the past. If there is even 1 more person voting this time as opposed to last time, I'll be satisfied. Also, just so everyone has an idea about how long this will take, I'm aiming to have this ready to go by Monday. I'm trying to decide whether or not to use the polling system after all, I just realized that people will be able to see the current tallies and there isn't a way to keep it private, so I may look for an alternative polling site to embed in the first post. |

i would probably have to agree with shuy on making two categories. you arent gonna get max participation from both sides unless we at least have where there are 2 sides. maybe we should have a best person who chats and forums. idk just an idea. let me know though and ill will add this thread to chat title to get some people in.

good point jon-san. if everyone can tell what the tallies are then(ex.) some people wont vote because they already see that the one they voted for is second runner up. i'll ask my little brother if he knows of any, given he used to spend alot of time on voting sites. and i'll get back with ya on it, k?

[@Jon] Yeah, I know how you feel. Do you still have those award templates to use again? The poll system is going to be tricky after all like I expected. Hmm, I used to know of a poll website that allowed people to vote without seeing the results. You had to actually vote first, to be able to see the results, so half of it is un-needed now. It's going to be tough, but I'm sure you can figure something out. I'll try to find something if I can. Ready by Monday? Wow, that's pretty fast already. I return to school by then, but I should still be around regardless. ^_^;; If you do decide to split it with the forum and chat, are you going to raise the number of award categories?

@DA- Well splitting it into two categories like Shuy suggested sounds like a good idea. The chat is basically half of Gendou's community in it's own right at this point in time. Seeing the results after voting wouldn't be too bad of a voting application, the only reason I really have for not wanting people to see the results (other than knowing the numbers beforehand possibly influencing people's choices) is so that people don't feel bad. Monday is when I hope to have the Nomination period open, not the entire voting process. I have two days off until I work again so I've got time to get things in order and get input from other members on the categories and such. Finally, I'm a pack-rat, both physically and digitally, of course I still have the templates. . . somewhere. |

Yeah, I read wrong, I have a few days left on my break, so get all the help out of me you want! I'm offering myself to you. XD I'm pretty much going to buy this special adobe sweet for my Mac, then I'll have photoshop and whatnot again to make graphics. Hopefully this thing's still active by the end of the year, I'll help make graphics.

Most Active Forumer of The Year 07 DA Most Active Forumer of The Year 08 DA Most Active Forumer of The Year 09 DA XD DA is so active is hard to ebat jajajaja but i saw nice categories up there I like the ones about graphic since there are some forums of draws out there I don't really go there, but I guess there must be plenty of posible participants :) If there is going to be a chat category, someone must be going to the chat to let them know about this =X i'm just saying >.>   |

Oho, Im happy some of my ideas were liked, hehe. And yeah, there's plenty of room to add things and remove things with my ideas there. Bringing in past categories is of course something to do too, depending on which ones would be relevant still. As far as the polling system goes, I havent had much of a chance to sue the new polls [ I voted in one to test it out, rofl ] but having results be seen early COULD influence things. Im not sure though, it just depends on the category. Using an outside poll system works, or even in the end having people PM their choices for each category, and then you have a team tally up everything and send in their results. Oho, Idea! You get a team together, and each member of this team gets a number of categories. People voting in those specific areas will send their results to that team member, and then each team member can send in their numbers to Jon. It depends though, since that may be abit complicaed for some members to follow. I like it, though. If we go with anything like that, I offer my name as someone to tally votes. |
