Hey everyone. I've decided to try the awards night once again, it's been a long time since the last one. I also figured that the poll system that Gendou has recently come up with would make it easier (and maybe, just maybe get more people to participate) during the voting process. The only catch to that is that we'll have to cut down on the number of categories this time, because I don't want to go and create 12 or 13 polls in a row. Anybody interested at all in doing this again?    |

I'm interested. I've been wanting to do this for a while. What categories do you think you're going make/keep/let go? Categories involving activities in the forum would be hard since it's become so less active over the long months. Before making any poll, let's discuss about it here, but yeah I'm interested. I'd make new graphics if I could, but I don't have photoshop anymore. I'm going to try to get it as early as I can ASAP, so I can get back to making graphics again. Oh, and I see it's "2009 edition", so we're doing this in regards to last year?

@DA- That was the intention, but I edited my first post to discuss that. It's a little hard for others to remember people or events from early in the year, so I think it's better if I just let people suggest whatever they want, regardless of when it happened. I put up '2009 Edition' just for something to have there. I'll get a few basic categories up either tomorrow night or a little later tonight (Going to settle in for a movie soon, not sure if I'll have it in me to think much after that ^^;). |

I'll help submit categories if you need a start. Since we're only deciding to do roughly a dozen awards this time, it'd be best if they're like, legit overall categories. My opinion since we're reviving this is to make 2010 the year for it, and do it at the end of the year, but that's so risky and things might not go as planned, but using '09 is just like digging up things since nobody remembers it. =3=" Also my concern about using the polls as the actual voting system, is that the poll area is so filtered with random polls, that if you create them for the awards night [here], random members who aren't even aware of the awards night will vote and interfere. The poll system, from my perspective, is heavily based on members from the chat. Say you make a poll that contains a popular face in the chat, people might be biased and vote for said person. Maybe have a special code or title in the poll name, like "GAN '09" or something to strictly have it fair as possible. You could also make a poll and add it here so only members of the thread will have easier access to it, and you won't have to worry about any unfairness from the poll system.

@DA- With regards to the polls, you're forgetting that voting here in the thread (or PM'ing me the vote) is the exact same thing as in the polls, except not as fluid of a system. Besides, people will still be voting for a person or thread based upon a question, using their own judgment. I would prefer if more people voted in the awards night, rather than a select few. Even the polling system may not bring in many new people, because looking at it at this point in time, there doesn't seem to be that many people voting. It isn't a regular task for everyone. I could always find a site where I can make my own poll, and simple put the HTML code in the first post. I would have to find a site that let's me do the following however: 1. Make my own polls and keep control of the poll in my hands. 2. Prevents users from voting multiple times in the same category. |

Nice idea to revive this with the poll sistem i will participate, so i'll try to stay in touch with this thread :3 and you can include a category of Best Gendou Radio DJ, now that we have a radio :D   |

well seeing as most djs or i think all djs are from chat you wont see them much so i dont know if that should be a real category though most regular people who do dj like shin and miko are also in forums so i guess you can use the category. most djs arent on anymore so thats why you dont see radio on as much anymore. anyways i will be trying to participate in this and will subsscribe to this thread.
