Darkness, all around you. Everything is still hazy. Can't remember what happened.

You open your eyes, blinded by the florescent lights above. When your eyes adjust, you find yourself on a gurney, surrounded by a white curtain. It takes a moment to fully take in your new surroundings, but when you do, you drag yourself up off of the stretcher and pull back the curtain slowly. The room is a fair size and contains other curtains, the faint shadows of other stretchers being seen inside. Others like you? Or perhaps corpses? Your mind wanders, unsure of what to do now. Suddenly, you see movement, and try to brace yourself for whatever you are about to meet.

Theme: Why by Living Illusion

Lyrics

[The RP]

'The Corner of My Eye' is an RP idea that I've wanted to try for a while now, but never really had the motivation to attempt, as it seems like a lot of work (on my part) to run. After talking it out recently in chat however, I think it has the opportunity to be interesting.

This RP is a bit different from recent ones. The general style is survival/mystery, or possibly survival-horror/murder mystery depending on how you see it. It is similar to games/visual novels such as 999, Zero's Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, Corpse Party and Danganronpa.

Casting won't be limited for the time being, although I have no idea what to expect in terms of interest to begin with, so we'll see how things go.

This is going to be pretty wonky for both myself and likely the people taking part. Until I see things working in action, I don't know how to change it or if it works well. So I apologize in advance if things don't work out well at first.

Edit - April 6, 2014: The cast is up to about 14 or 15 people right now, which is a little much. I don't want the cast going over 15, so I'm going to have to reduce the max number of characters per person to 1. People who already had two characters made are fine, since I originally put 2 per person in the rules, but going forward anyone with an uncompleted profile should stick to 1.

For those of you that do have 2 characters, I ask that you think it over about how committed you are to both of them. I won't ask you to get rid of one, but it would be helpful. Like I said, the main concern for me right now is that a cast this large will wind up flying through the Hospital in only a few posts. I have no way of knowing how many, if any, characters will be killed off in the Hospital or how fast people will be able to move through the rooms (or if people will spend any time talking with other characters and stuff), so the pacing of this RP is essentially a total wildcard right now.

Also, I want to briefly mention that the way traps work will be changing a little bit. I'm in the process of rigging each room now and I didn't realize how difficult it would be to come up with traps that could 1. Injure, 2. Kill and 3. Be escaped from.

However, I still want people to have a chance when a trap is triggered instead of going "Spear shot out of the wall and impaled you through the heart because you moved a coffee mug. Too bad."

So, after some discussion in chat, I think I'll be taking a slightly Dungeons and Dragons style approach to this. It will be explained in detail when the RP is about to begin, but suffice it to say, there's going to be some RNG at work. It's the only way I can pull this off.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just an update for everyone. The Floor Plan for The Hospital is now up on the first post. It's under 'The Hospital/Complex' header. I have the large version of the picture up, but if you click on the image it should take you to Photobucket where you can hit 'Download' for the full sized version if you really want. Everything should be readable in its current size though. I'm planning to have this map updated whenever the group gets back together in the lobby/cafeteria (as it makes sense that way. Everyone will share what they have found or searched, meaning they can make the same marks to their notes and such).

Due to the number of people so far (as well as Temp possibly joining and maybe Ugo), I am thinking that I will have The Administration building opened from the start as well (I was originally going to keep it locked to give myself time to work on it and such).

Anyway, now that the floor plan is finished for the Hospital, I'll be moving on to labeling my version of the floor plan (which includes, traps, items, and that kind of stuff). Then I'll have to quickly put together the Admin building.

I should have lots of time for this however, as it looks like a few people will be finishing their profiles on the weekend, so the RP won't be starting before then at least. I'll try and aim for a Monday (or maybe even Sunday night) launch.

Once again, I'm glad to see so much interest in the RP. I just want to repeat that I hope everyone makes the effort to stick with this so that I'm not forced to kill a bunch of drop outs.

I also want make another reminder that by joining this RP, you are agreeing to the points made about character death. I won't be reversing character deaths for any reason (If you haven't posted for two or three weeks and haven't given me any word as to why, meanwhile everyone else has been trucking along, then I'll probably kill your character. At that point it's no use to send me a PM saying that you still want to continue). I cannot mention this point enough, because I'm positive at least one person is going to PM me if their character gets killed and ask to have it changed). I know it's harsh, especially if you wind up somehow only being in the RP for a page or two, but that's how this RP is going to go. Some characters are going to live longer than others. No way around it.

Anyway, other than that, I hope I can keep the RP at or above your expectation levels. I know some people are really excited for this, so I'm trying not to disappoint. Everything sounds better in concept after all.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Previous Post

@Everyone - We've got about 10 characters or so right now, so if you were on the fence about about having two characters or one then I suggest sticking with one. I'm not going to block the ability to make two characters though, just a bit of a suggestion to stop the group from getting too big. I may close the cast tomorrow and just wait and see what Ugo decides on (not sure if Ugo will have the time available to join or not, but there was interest expressed).

This also means that I will likely force the group to break up into at minimum, two teams (maybe even three if the cast approaches 15 once profiles are complete). I want to leave you guys in the decision making seat as much as possible, but having a group of more than 6 people moving together would be difficult.

@All - I want to thank everyone who has joined up so far. I want to repeat that if you intend to join then please intend to stick with this and post at least occasionally. I won't hesitate to kill off dead weight characters because they not active.

Before I get to individual replies, I want to give a little status update.

-I don't have a set date in mind for starting the RP just yet. Now that I know the interest is in the RP, I have started work on the first Floor Plan. It's for The Hospital building, which I should be able to finish tomorrow. I'll post it here in the first post when I finish it so that you can all have a look over it or save it for reference if you want.

-Floor Plan for 'The Hospital' is currently in the process of labeling (What each room is, elevators, stairwells, that kind of thing). When finished, I will need to move on to my personal labeling (traps, clear rooms, item locations, general description of the room if it contains a trap or item). This map will not be uploaded, only I will be able to view it (obviously).

-Currently, The Hospital has about 150 or so rooms to search across five floors (plus a Roof). This seems like a lot, but you have to keep in mind that rooms which are clear will be kind of glossed over. You also aren't forced to search every one of these rooms.

-Initially, access to The Administration and The Living Quarters will be locked. I was going to have all buildings open right away, but decided against it for a few reasons. First of all, given how many people have joined, I don't know how fast you guys are going to get through the rooms. If you start blowing through the rooms quickly and making fast progress towards the goal, then I can adjust the size of the other two buildings accordingly. Opening all of the buildings at once prevents me from doing this (since buildings don't just materialize new floors at whim). Second, this will give me time to actually work on the floor plans of the other two buildings. Labeling takes a while, so I think it would take way too long for me to do all three floor plans at once (The Hospital alone will probably take me all of tomorrow). Finally, it will keep the group in one general location for a bit (until they find access to a second or possibly both buildings anyway), so it'll be easier to keep track of everyone and regroup if needed.

-After this post, I'm going to change/update a few things on the first post. People have been asking me a few questions which I need to properly answer for everyone else as well. This includes what the time period is, the rules regarding member-characters killing another member-character and other such things. It's probably better to wait until the RP is just about to start before rereading the main post (in case I need to update again), but it's up to you.

@Mistress - It's possible. I saw your post in RP'ers Club, don't worry about it.

@Emiya - Not sure if the smartphone missing is because you assume it would be confiscated. If so, then I'm giving the okay for characters to still have their phones on them. The phones won't be able to get reception anyway, so the only use they will really have is as a memo pad/makeshift flashlight/clock. Other than that, no issues.

@Toyumi - I'll give the camera and related accessories a pass. Pretty much all the characters will likely have phones, which have cameras built in, so a higher quality camera doesn't really make a difference in terms of usefulness.

EDIT: I forgot to mention. Use [Examine - Item/Place/Thing] whenever you want to take a closer look at something. I'll give you a description of it and so on.

@Everyone - Okay, here it goes. All I can do right now is hope for the best that this won't turn out to be a disaster. If it goes okay, then I'll likely use what I've learned from this to make a better one in the future (definitely with a more limited cast). I've had a few ideas already, but it's too late to use them for this RP due to the cast size.

Just a note about below, you don't have to include 'The Complex' or 'The Hospital' in your location tag. I will be using them, but you can simply stick to just mentioning the floor level and the room you are in or area you are exploring. When other buildings open up, then we'll switch to having 'The Hospital', 'The Administration' and 'The Living Quarters' added to the location tag.

Finally, The Hospital is currently the only building open. As you can see on the Floor Plan, a key is required for LQ and Admin access. Technically, the Third Floor and the Fourth Floor are not completed yet, but I should be able to get those finished (or mostly finished) by tomorrow. The reason I'm starting the RP now, despite that not being done, is because I don't expect the cast to be searching for a few days. There's going to be the initial introductions, the questions for the voice, the debating on what the group should do and the debate on who is going to go where.

So please do not flip the table on me and have the group immediately say "Sounds good, let's get rolling." then head straight for those floors. Don't be jerks.

[The Complex - The Hospital - Ground Floor - Lobby]

As the group of strangers begin coming to, lights in the lobby start flickering to life and lighting up the building. A voice is heard over the lobby speakers. The Voice is female, although it is difficult to determine any accent that would hint at the woman's country of origin.

"Greetings Experimental Group #7, and welcome to Complex 3. You have been selected for participation in our annual 'Human Survival and Behavioral Study' experiment. Let us review the basics. We heavily suggest that you pay close attention to the following details, as they will not be repeated once the experiment is underway."

Several monitors lining the room turn on and display what appear to be floor plans of a building. (Refer to Floor Plans in the first post)

"Your present location is referred to as 'The Hospital'. You are standing in the lobby at the moment, as indicated by the star symbol containing the letter 'S'. This complex has been outfitted with various traps and hazards that will stand in the way of your search. They can be painful, as well as incredibly deadly. You have been warned."

Three of the large monitors positioned over the front entrance suddenly switch to a different image of a group of people.

"Please direct your attention to the monitors over the front entrance. The people you see on the monitor are referred to as 'Group #6' in short. They are your predecessors."

 photo Group6PublicVersion_zpsba0a1e2d.png

"In order to open the front entrance to this building, you are required to answer the following question in relation to Group #6: Which of these people survived and which ones died in the previous experiment? You will also require a key in order to gain your freedom and complete the experiment successfully. Both requirements can be fulfilled by searching The Complex for clues and the front entrance key."

The woman's voice suddenly shifts to something much more robotic sounding.

"First Warning: Any attempt at guessing the correct answer upon acquisition of the key is highly inadvisable."

The voice then returned to the way she had sounded previously.

"Nourishment can be found in the Cafeteria on the Ground Floor. This room is located behind you and down the hallway on the left. The Cafeteria contains finite supplies, so the available time for completing the experiment is limited. The Cafeteria has not been rigged with traps of any nature. This is the only safe room that you will be informed of throughout the course of this experiment."

The other monitors shut off and only Group #6 is left being displayed on the front few monitors.

"To review: You are to find out which members of Group #6 survived the previous experiment and acquire the front entrance key in order to escape with your life. This is accomplished by finding clues left throughout The Complex. The Complex is rigged with dangerous traps and hazards. Food and liquids are in finite amounts."

The voice then changed back to the more robotic sound and provided the group with their second warning.

"Second Warning: The Complex is surrounded on all sides by trained marksmen."

Through the glass of the front entrance wall, spotlights are suddenly switched on in the blackness of the outside. Shadows of men can be made out from the illumination, shifting in anticipation of stopping any runaways. The lights also illuminate a tunnel connected to the front entrance. The tunnel leads from the locked doors out into the darkness and disappears into it.

"Attempting to flee The Complex through any exit other than the Front Entrance is not possible. The Experiment Enforcement Team are instructed to shoot any living beings which exit the outer perimeter of The Complex. They cannot be reasoned with and will not respond to any requests or calls for help. Chance of death outside of The Complex is confirmed at 100%."

Once again, after the warning was issued, the female reverted to her normal tone of voice.

"To complete the orientation, I will now deliver notices. Notice to Subject Yumiko. Your phone has been relocated due to the presence of sensitive information. Notice to Subject Otacon. Your remote operated robotic device has been confiscated to maintain the purity of the experiment. End of notices. Queries will now be accepted for the next half hour. Query availability will be terminated after that time. Currently listening."

[Holly & Jun - Ground Floor - Lobby]

As Jun regained consciousness, he looked around the place that he was in. It was unfamiliar, and yet similar to the environment he was used to at the pharmaceutical factory that he worked at. A sterile environment, although there were no lights on. He noticed that he was not alone, he was with other people, the majority of them probably younger than him. As more people began to wake up, including Holly, the lights began to turn on, letting Jun and Holly get a better inspection of their surroundings. Suddenly, however, a female voice rang out over the lobby.

"Greetings Experimental Group #7," the voice said, "And welcome to Complex 3. You have been selected for participation in our annual 'Human Survival and Behavioral Study' experiment. Let us review the basics. We heavily suggest that you pay close attention to the following details, as they will not be repeated once the experiment is underway."

Experiment? Jun thought as the monitors surrounding them turned on to reveal what looked like floor plans.

"Your present location is referred to as 'The Hospital'." the voice continued, "You are standing in the lobby at the moment, as indicated by the star symbol containing the letter 'S'. This complex has been outfitted with various traps and hazards that will stand in the way of your search. They can be painful, as well as incredibly deadly. You have been warned."

Holly, instinctively because of her photography nature, began to take pictures of the monitors and the hospital around her, while Jun paid close attention to what the female voice had to say as the monitors over the entrance switched to a an image of a group of people.

"Please direct your attention to the monitors over the front entrance." The voice said, "The people you see on the monitor are referred to as 'Group #6' in short. They are your predecessors. In order to open the front entrance to this building, you are required to answer the following question in relation to Group #6: Which of these people survived and which ones died in the previous experiment? You will also require a key in order to gain your freedom and complete the experiment successfully. Both requirements can be fulfilled by searching The Complex for clues and the front entrance key."

Jun cringed a bit as the voice changed to a more robotic one.

"First Warning: Any attempt at guessing the correct answer upon acquisition of the key is highly inadvisable." The robotic voice stated.

"Nourishment can be found in the Cafeteria on the Ground Floor." the voice continued in it's non-robotic manner, "This room is located behind you and down the hallway on the left. The Cafeteria contains finite supplies, so the available time for completing the experiment is limited. The Cafeteria has not been rigged with traps of any nature. This is the only safe room that you will be informed of throughout the course of this experiment."

The monitors began to shut off, and only the one with the previous group #6 was displayed on the front monitors.

"To review:" The female voice said, "You are to find out which members of Group #6 survived the previous experiment and acquire the front entrance key in order to escape with your life. This is accomplished by finding clues left throughout The Complex. The Complex is rigged with dangerous traps and hazards. Food and liquids are in finite amounts."

"Second Warning:" The robotic voice said, "The Complex is surrounded on all sides by trained marksmen."

Jun looked around as spotlights turned on outside, revealing shadows of people outside, as well as a tunnel.

"Attempting to flee The Complex through any exit other than the Front Entrance is not possible." The robotic voice continued, "The Experiment Enforcement Team are instructed to shoot any living beings which exit the outer perimeter of The Complex. They cannot be reasoned with and will not respond to any requests or calls for help. Chance of death outside of The Complex is confirmed at 100%."

"To complete the orientation," the normal, female voice continued, "I will now deliver notices.

Holly more or less listened to the voice with half an ear, while Jun carefully thought over what was said, attempting to make sense of it all. Experiment? Jun thought, And... We're not the first? That means that someone must be running this... But who would be allowed to do such a thing?

"You say that we are participating in your annual 'Human Survival and Behavioral Study' but, who exactly are you?" Jun asked, "Or is that something we won't find out about until later, if at all?"

"And a second question," Jun said, "You said there is a finite amount of time we have due to the amount of food, or 'nourishment,' available? Therefore, are there clocks around here? Or in other words, will be be allowed to know the passing of time while we are in this hospital?"

By this point in time, Holly was more attentive, and she carefully looked at the monitors with the group of people on them.

"Some of these people died?" Holly commented, "It's so sad... I mean, with my job, I go off and do photography of poor souls all the time... But every time it pains me..."

"And you're a voice so you must be coming from somewhere." Holly said, "Are you an actual person? And are these actual people? Did you know them?"

"Isn't that a silly question?" Jun asked.

"Well, this could be all... Just a bad prank, maybe?" Holly said, "I mean, it's feasible to ask if this thing is real, wouldn't you agree? I mean, you're in a lab coat, so you must be the scientist type. Questioning and discovering the facts and the truth. I mean, I work with journalists and they do that all the time."

"... Fine." Jun said, "You got me there."

[Natsumi | Ground Floor - Lobby]

Natsumi slowly wokes up, her vision was blurry for a while as she adjusts herself. When she noticed that she was at a some place she's not familiar with... She looked around, she noticed other people still unconscious. Among those strangers, she recognized one of them. Someone that got into her school during the student exchange programme, it was Yumiko.

Though a while after everyone wakes up, a voice could be heard from the speakers.

. . .

To summarize, everyone inside this hospital at the moment is being experimented for 'Human Survival and Behaviorial Study'. They have to escape the premise that is rigged with traps and such by guessing who from the previous group survives and not. They also had a definite amount of time to finish so they don't die starving due to food depletion. Forcing to escape is not advisable as there were marksman waiting to shoot anything that goes out.

Hearing that made Natsumi to slightly panic and angered. She have a lot of question to ask but a stranger with the labcoat and another stranger with a camera asked some of the questions already.

"What the freaking hell... Deadly traps!? You're going to kill us here even if we cooperate with the experiments! Is this even allowed!?" Natsumi couldn't help but to lash out her anger.

[Yumiko Shinozaki]
[Ground Floor - Lobby]

Darkness. That was the first thing when Yumiko opened her eyes. She felt groggy and a slight nauseating sensation when she just regained her consciousness. Yumiko continued to lie down, hoping the discomfort will go away.

("Ugh... What just... happened?")

At that time, she tasted something foreign inside her mouth.

("Chloroform...?")

Then, Yumiko heard movements around her. She turned around, and she managed to discern several moving figures. Afterwards, the sensations were subsided, and she attempted to stand up, slowly. Just after when she managed to get a firm foothold on the ground, the lights began to flicker, and several sections of the building that she was in lit up. Yumiko held her hands up, covering her eyes as she was adjusted to the darkness earlier on, though that slightly threw her balance off.

As her eyes started to acclimatize with the bright lights, a female voice was broadcasted within a lobby.

Yumiko felt a mixture of surprise and fear, realizing that she is now involved in some creepily named experiment. Of course, she just tasted chloroform, which further confirmed that she is in trouble. Rather than shrugging it as some kind of elaborate pranks, she decided to take the words seriously from the broadcast. Then, several sets of widescreen LED monitors installed on the lobby were projecting some kind of floor plan.

The voice explained as Yumiko approached the monitors for a closer look of the floor plans. She noticed that a woman with a camera was taking pictures of the floor plans and the surroundings. She occasionally made way for the woman to take unobstructed pictures.

"Please direct your attention to the monitors over the front entrance. The people you see on the monitor are referred to as 'Group #6' in short. They are your predecessors."

The female voice spoke more once again, telling everyone to direct their attention to another set of LED monitors which are roof-mounted. The screens are projecting a picture with 12 persons in it. Yumiko's eyes locked to the screens, slowly observing every each of the persons displayed. She has a feeling that some of the group members are kind of misplaced.

After a period of time, the voice elaborated about the picture.

("... You want us to play detective?")

Yumiko then looked at the people gathered around the lobby. She noticed that 2 of her classmates, Ryuusei Kawazaki, and the transfer student Alanna, as well as the famous female basketball captain Natsumi, from Fuujou HS, whom she met during last year's student exchange program. The woman with a camera was still photographing the environment, where as a man with a lab coat and spectacles has his eyes fixated on the screen projecting the members of Group 6.

("He looks dependable... but the rest...") Yumiko thought, when she observed the lab coat man. Moments later, her eyes went back to the monitor where the man was observing.

Then the female broadcaster's warm and gentle voice turned into something more robotic, and vicious tone.

"First Warning: Any attempt at guessing the correct answer upon acquisition of the key is highly inadvisable."

She repeated the warning in her mind.

("Do not attempt to guess the answer when we have the key. We need to get a solid answer before attempting...")

Afterwards, the voice reverted to its previous configuration.

Yumiko frowned when she heard the following words. Judging from the size of the group in the lobby, it is no doubt that food, water and other necessities will be a constant worry later on. Then, the monitors which are previously projecting the floor plans of The Hospital were shut down afterwards, leaving only the roof-mounted LED monitors which was projecting the Group 6 picture. The voice made a summary of their objectives if they are to escape the facility that they are trapped into.

"To review: You are to find out which members of Group #6 survived the previous experiment and acquire the front entrance key in order to escape with your life. This is accomplished by finding clues left throughout The Complex. The Complex is rigged with dangerous traps and hazards. Food and liquids are in finite amounts."

She tried her best to remember the objectives, before the voice once again turned, while announcing the second warning.

"Second Warning: The Complex is surrounded on all sides by trained marksmen."

Yumiko discovered that there is a bright light source coming from her behind. She turned around, and noticed that there are several figures outside from the so-called The Complex, as well as spotlights. The lights also revealed a tunnel connected to the front entrance, presumably their exit. As for the figures outside the Complex, they have a burly build and presumably armed.

She took a deep breath, before exhaling. The voice once again reverted to its gentle tone.

Yumiko was completely taken aback by the notice and quickly searched her pockets. She took out her keys, and her purse. But unfortunately, no sign of her black Xperia Z1S.

("Not good... presence of sensitive information?") She frowned again once more.

At that moment, the man with a white lab coat is the first one to speak and inquire.

"You say that we are participating in your annual 'Human Survival and Behavioral Study' but, who exactly are you? Or is that something we won't find out about until later, if at all?"

Yumiko stood beside with the man, with a distance between them.

"And a second question. You said there is a finite amount of time we have due to the amount of food, or 'nourishment,' available? Therefore, are there clocks around here? Or in other words, will be be allowed to know the passing of time while we are in this hospital?"

("Right, we need a sense of time in this. We need an estimation when we'll be finishing the supplies if we're going to play detective and avoiding traps. Otherwise people will be fighting each other for supplies.") She agreed with the man's second question.

Then, the long haired, dark brown woman with a camera soon participated into the conversation as well.

"Some of these people died? It's so sad... I mean, with my job, I go off and do photography of poor souls all the time... But every time it pains me..."

("Sense of empathy...")

The woman continued to question the female voice's identity.

"And you're a voice so you must be coming from somewhere. Are you an actual person? And are these actual people? Did you know them?"

"Isn't that a silly question?" The lab coat man soon criticized her question. Later on, she explained her reasoning.

"Well, this could be all... Just a bad prank, maybe? I mean, it's feasible to ask if this thing is real, wouldn't you agree? I mean, you're in a lab coat, so you must be the scientist type. Questioning and discovering the facts and the truth. I mean, I work with journalists and they do that all the time."

("A prank... Not I think. Especially with that semi-obvious tunnel outside and I just tasted chloroform...)

"... Fine. You got me there." The lab coat man yielded afterwards. Of course maybe it would not hurt asking about it...

Then, Natsumi spoke, but in a rather angry manner.

"What the freaking hell... Deadly traps!? You're going to kill us here even if we cooperate with the experiments! Is this even allowed!?"

Yumiko sighed, wondering what she should speak or ask in this kind of situation. She looked around to the people around her once more.

("I think I'll start with the camerawoman and the lab coat guy, before dealing with Asashina.")

She took a breath in, and faced at the brown haired woman and the man with spectacles.

"Um, I don't think that this is a prank. I actually tasted chloroform and felt groggy when I woke up... and the exit behind us is connected to a tunnel, if you guys actually noticed it."

Then she turned around to Natsumi.

"Asashina-san... right? It has been a while since last year's student exchange program. I also find the facts a bit outrageous, but I think we're in trouble for good. Being angry isn't going to help much now."

Lastly, Yumiko turned and faced at the monitors projecting Group 6's portrait.

"If it's possible, may I inquire to elaborate further regarding the reasons why my smartphone has been relocated? Where can I get it back? Besides that, are we going to have permanent access to the floor plans, and will it be constantly updated as we explore this installation?"

[Ryuusei - Ground Floor - Lobby]

As Ryuusei slowly began to come back, he knocked his head lightly. He then open his eye halfway but all he say was total darkness.

(Urgh...Where... where am I?)

As Ryuusei slowly began to stand up, the lights flickers. As the lights lit the building up,Ryuusei closed his eyes again, not wanting to be blinded by the light. After a while he slowly opened his eyes bit by bit and looked around. Just then, a female voice could be heard, being broadcasted.

"Yeah...As if we have a choice." Ryuusei mumbled softly so that it could not be heard.

In that moment, several monitor and screen intsalled around the room turned on and display what appear to be floor plans of a building.

(So apparently we have access to a map.) As Ryuusei inspected the floor plan carefully from where he was standing, three of the large monitors positioned over the front entrance had just switch to a different image of a group of people.

"Please direct your attention to the monitors over the front entrance. The people you see on the monitor are referred to as 'Group #6' in short. They are your predecessors."

(Predecessors? So there were a group of people before? Wonder what happened to them...)

Ryuusei stepped back a bit as he heard the voice finished the sentence.(What the ... Some of them died ...)

Just the the voice changed into more robotic sounding and announced, "First Warning: Any attempt at guessing the correct answer upon acquisition of the key is highly inadvisable."

(So we can just find the key and dash?)

The voice then changed back to its normal sound and said

"Nourishment can be found in the Cafeteria on the Ground Floor. This room is located behind you and down the hallway on the left. The Cafeteria contains finite supplies, so the available time for completing the experiment is limited. The Cafeteria has not been rigged with traps of any nature. This is the only safe room that you will be informed of throughout the course of this experiment. To review: You are to find out which members of Group #6 survived the previous experiment and acquire the front entrance key in order to escape with your life. This is accomplished by finding clues left throughout The Complex. The Complex is rigged with dangerous traps and hazards. Food and liquids are in finite amounts."

The voice then changed back to the more robotic sound and provided the group with their second warning.

"Second Warning: The Complex is surrounded on all sides by trained marksmen. Attempting to flee The Complex through any exit other than the Front Entrance is not possible.

(Hm? Yumiko?) Ryuusei turned to looked at the group. He saw 2 of his classmates, Yumiko and Alanna. He then sighed,"So there are some people I know after all. That good to know...somewhat."

As the group asked their questions and Yumiko tried to calm a girl around the same age as Ryuusei down, Ryuusei laid back slightly and looked at the screen with the 'members' of Group #6." Boy oh boy...It looks like we have quite a handful to deal with..."

All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are an imagination of ourselves.

[Terry & Ismael]
[Ground Floor - Lobby]

White, harsh light.

That was the first thing Terry saw as he opened his eyes. He immediately closed them and turned to his side.

"Mmmmm..."

He quickly realized something was odd. He opened his eyes again.

A white curtain filled his vision. Foreign. That was new.

Terry slowly pushed himself off of the gurney. He pulled back the curtain with deftness.

Two things immediately caught his attention. The first was the presence of other stretchers surrounded by curtains. People were either standing outside of them or coming out.

The second was the obese man near his right.

Terry suppressed his desire to jump back. The sight of this man screamed 'danger' to every pore of his body. He was the epitome of a stalker: a sweater hood over his head, dark sunglasses, and a surgical mask covered most of his face. Terry balled his hands into fists and narrowed his eyes.

"Who the hel-"

...But was cut off by the female voice.

After the voice finished, the voice opened the floor to questions. Terry stayed silent as he observed his surroundings and stretched his body. However, he couldn't help but inwardly groan as he heard some of the things said.

("Yeah, like the people that kidnapped us are going to tell us their real names. Might as well ask if they'll let us out if we ask nicely.")

When Terry checked his pockets, the photographer questioned whether the situation was merely an elaborate prank.

("Because a prank involves abducting you and waking up in an unknown building. My god. I don't even...")

A teenage girl yelled in rage. Terry checked his iPhone to see various things. It was 10:04 AM. Saturday. May 10th, 2014. Which made sense, considering he left for his friend's house on a Friday. There was a text message from his friend, asking him where he was. Nothing else. No reception, of course.

("Tsk.")

Another girl dispelled the notion that it was a prank. Terry smiled.

("Yay she's not an idi-")

Then, she mentioned chloroform. Terry raised an eyebrow.

("No way. That sort of cliche only happens in movies and TV. And even if she did ingest chloroform, how would she know the taste of it? Was she raped before? A chemistry student or something? And the chin would have to be supported to prevent ourselves from suffocating to death while out. Too much of a hassle. Must have been some different drug.")

She then told the other girl to calm down. Terry sighed.

("You idiot. Let her vent. Saying something like that is only going to piss her off more if she's a typical human being. God.")

She then asked several questions. Terry sighed again.

("No, they will just tell you the sensitive information on your goddamn phone and ruin the whole point of goddamn confiscating it. And you can just ask that photographer if you need the floor plan. We're probably going to have to explore every inch of this damn place anyways. What's the point? God, what is up with these people?")

The boy near his left made a statement. Terry had no mental comment.

Terry rotated his neck, making several cracking sounds as he walked towards a nearby monitor. It was his turn to ask questions.

"By 'highly inadvisable', can you be more specific? What if one of us here guesses incorrectly? I'm assuming death to the individual that guessed wrong, but I'm just confirming since you're being vague about it. Also, does any of the food contain things that may cause negative reactions in some people? Like peanuts, milk, gluten, etc. I don't have any allergies, but it would be a pain in the ass to deal with someone that does have it and inadvertently eats something like that. What sort of drug was used to abduct me? I assume it was a drug, since I feel no physical pain in my body, and neither does most anyone else it seems. Would be interested in the name of it. Can you give us a brief biography of each of the persons present or do we need to find that out for ourselves? Where are the damn showers and spare clothes? That floor plan didn't show anything blatantly obvious like that. You expect everyone to be nice and happy with just food that's possibly shit? Now that I think about it, there might not even be a lot of food. Anywho, if you're really testing human behavior and survival, it's obviously going to turn to shit if you rig the initial conditions like this. Hopefully you put some clothes in the rooms and there are showers in the bathrooms, but somehow I doubt that. Oh well. What was the criteria for the people that were chosen to be here? From what I see it seems to be random. Is there some sort of gruesome sin we each committed that's typical in these sorts of death game scenarios?"

When he said the last sentence, Terry turned around to stare at the obese man. At this point, the man was hunched over, wheezing, and had a hand clutched over his left chest. Terry looked back at the monitor.

"And I'll just point out the elephant in the room right now."

Terry took a deep breath and loudly exhaled before continuing.

"Is there any punishment from you guys for killing or harming others in this experiment?"

{Mikan Hikari}
[Ground Floor - Lobby]

-Mikan was gaining her consciousness, the blinding white flash blinded her for a while, it took a few minutes for her eyes to focus, she was on lying on a stretcher, she looked around, and saw different people who are also waking up, she noticed her Beltbag, she inspect it and still saw the her medicine is still intact, her phone was still there but it says out of coverage, and her cane with four legs, she took it and walked...

.... then she heard the speakers begun to talk

Mikan: This is worst than what i could imagine

-She took a seat for a while and rested for a bit, she is conditioning herself due to her illness, her body is a little weak due to the abuse she took when she s younger and she needs medical check-ups once in awhile-

Mikan: {Clam down... calm down... everything will be alright... evrything will be alright}

-She distanced her self to the team for a while, she is concentrating and meditating she might freaked out and might do something odd-

Mikan: {BEhavioral study huh? Its like Skinner Box, we are the subjects and the traps are the tests of our credibility and cooperation, but still death is still eminent}

-she sighed a bit, he lay down on the sofa, she wanted to scream but she cant, but she questioned something, why her? she is more weaker than everybody, she might only a liabiliy and a burden-

Mikan {its no use anyway, i need to rest a little further}

@Everyone - Just a note, but you guys will probably see me posting a lot more often than you. This is because I don't have a character and I'll be responding to people Examining things and such. Not all of my posts will be moving things ahead. Most of them will just be descriptions of rooms, items, examinations, that kind of stuff.

[The Complex - The Hospital - Ground Floor - Lobby]

After each question, the face of the person who asked it was displayed on the monitors. The voice then fell silent for a second or two before responding to it.

"Query: Who am I? Answer: My identity is of no concern. It has no bearing on your success or failure and is therefore not important. Second Query: Are we allowed to know the amount of time that has passed? Answer: The electronic devices you possess still function and can be used to keep track of time, however you will notice that all such devices as well as all watches are displaying different times and dates. The time and date have been deliberately altered on all of your possessions and are therefore not indicative of the actual time and date. The reason for this is none of your concern as it has no bearing on your success or failure."

The picture on the monitor then changed to display Holly's face.

"Query: Am I a real person and are Group #6 composed of real people? Answer: My existence is of no concern to you as it has no bearing on your success or failure. Group #6 was composed of real people. Their situation was identical to your own, with the exception of the number of subjects. Second Query: Do I have any relation to Group #6? Answer: No."

Holly's picture is replaced by Natsumi's as she starts to lash out at the voice.

"Query: Is this allowed? Answer: Irrelevant. Permission, or lack thereof, to perform this experiment does not change the fact that you are to take part in it. Suggestion: Learn to deal."

Natsumi's picture is then replaced by Yumiko, as she questions the fact that her phone was taken from her.

"Query - Subject Yumiko: Why was my smartphone taken? Answer: Subject Yumiko's phone contained information that was deemed too significant for the early stages of the experiment. Second Query: The phone has been relocated to elsewhere in The Complex. Retrieval is dependent on having the luck to come across it first, or is based on the goodwill of the person that does find it. Third Query: Do we have access the The Hospital's floor plans and will they be updated? Answer: Copies of The Hospital's floor plans are found posted on the wall of the Cafeteria. Updating these floor plans is the responsibility of Group #7."

After answering Yumiko's question, her picture shifted to Terry's as he began a long string of questions for the voice.

"Query: Can I specify the meaning of 'highly inadvisable' in regards to guessing the answer? Answer: Subject has answered own question. Flagrant attempts at guessing are met with termination. Second Query: Does the food contain elements that may cause allergic reactions? Answer: The cafeteria contains a variety of different foods in fair amounts. Safety issues arising from consumption of certain foods or drinks is not our concern. Third Query: What drug was used to abduct me? Answer: Nunna yo' business. Fourth Query: Can I provide a biography of the present subjects? Answer: No. Handling of interpersonal relations and details are one part of the experiment. Fifth Query: Where are the showers and spare clothes? Answer: Showers and other clothing are located in The Complex, no further information will be provided. Sixth Query: Do I expect everyone to be pleased with the provided nourishment? Answer: Do you believe I care? Follow-up Answer: I do not. Seventh Query: Why were the subjects present chosen for this experiment? Answer: Irrelevant. Knowing the reasons for your individual selection changes nothing. Your participation in this experiment is not optional. Eighth Query: Will retribution be carried out in response to subjects attempting to physically harm each other? Answer: Interpersonal conflicts will be regulated on a case by case basis. Sociopathic tendencies have a low tolerance. Further details are not needed."

The picture then disappeared and the monitor once again turned off.

"All current queries have been answered. Twenty minutes remain for asking questions. Please note that there is no start time for the experiment. You may begin at any time."
