[Eternity's Ruin - Forge]

Cyrus had been working non-stop since getting down here. The room was only lit by the glow of the forge and heated metal that he was hammering into shape. He had started with the grip and handguard, he had finished those quickly before focusing into the blade itself.

The blade was longer than Ruby's old one had been there was slight curve in the end. He gave it one last hit before observing the still glowing blade.

"That should do it..."

He then placed the blade on a metal holding unit before pouring a chemical mixture on it. After letting it sit for a minute he pulled it out and doused it in a bucket of water. Once he pulled out the finished blade he carried it to the next room which was brightly lit and observed his work.

"Oh, this will do nicely... now for the finishing touches."

He quickly joined the blade, the handguard and the grip to each other. Grinning at the finished blade.

The grip and handguard were dark gold in color, while the blade itself was black as night, the pommel stone was a ruby.

"I hope she likes it."

He took the blade in his hand and headed to the captain's cabin to present Ruby her new weapon.

OOC: Sorry for the ultra-late post, this past week just kind of threw so much stuff at me out of nowhere (Including a number of allergic reactions, which were no fun at all >>), and I had a bit of a hard time even trying to write up this post. Hopefully this won't happen again for awhile.

(South Ocean - Jazeera Island)

"Captain, its no problem for us," Aleria responded to Ruby, "We're professionals and know that sometimes we have work separately to play to our individual strengths."

"Of course," Aleria said with a wink, "If you are planning to steal him away then we might have a problem! Hahaha."

Ruby chuckled at her remark, while Jolly rolled his eyes.

"Well then captain, how can we be of assistance?" Jolly asked, "You know most of our skills are you are the boss. Just let us know what you need done and leave it to us."

"Of course," Ruby said, "But I'll let you know when the time comes. For now, that's all I needed to know."

With that, Ruby dismissed the two, telling them to finish preparing for the task at hand. After all, Ruby herself had to finish making preparations as well. She was almost done with her preparations when there was another knock at the door, this time to give her the final item needed for her preparations, her newly forged sword.

"This... This is perfect," Ruby said with a smile as Cyrus presented her with the sword, "Although, I can expect as much from you. Thank you."

After inspecting it further, Ruby sheathed the sword, and with that her preparations were complete.

"The others should be ready by now," Ruby said, "It is sunset, so we should be leaving soon. Let's assemble the rest of crew to their stations and get this show on the road, or rather, on the ocean."

The crew took only minutes to get to their traditional posts, and with that they set sail. During this time, Alannah let Rafael take the wheel for a bit; however, she wasn't sure of how experienced he was, so she stayed near him and constantly gave him advice on the matter.

When the Ruby could see Vernes Island from her telescope, she ordered Alannah to stop the ship briefly so she could give her orders.

"As some of you may already know," Ruby said, "I'm splitting the crew in two for this mission. One will enter the front of the island and enter the mansion from there to search for the jewel, while the other will stay on board with me to distract and possibly take down the two ships guarding the island."

The land crew is as follows," Ruby continued, "Alannah Vantas, Asa Sterling, Garrosh Bladefury, Lanver Duskmoon, Aleria Windrunner, Florecia, and Ragual Leon, with Cain Torreador as the leader of the land crew. Everyone else will stay on the ship with me. I hope there aren't any objections, since this is the plan that I have in mind and it's the plan that I'm sticking with."

After declaring her plan supreme for the time-being, with the faith in her crew that they would follow her lead, she let the crew assume their positions once agan as they headed for the island. They waited around the front of Vernes Island for a moment, then when the first ship circled around from the back of the island, Ruby ordered her crew to fire some cannonballs at it. The cannonballs hit, and with the boat caught off guard Ruby took this time to quickly pull up aside the dock on the front of the island.

"Quick, everyone from the land crew, jump off," Ruby said, "We'll distract the ships from here. Good luck and godspeed."

Everyone from the land crew was off of the ship within moments, and with that, it was time for Ruby and the rest of the crew left on Eternity's Ruin to face the enemy, to succeed in their part of the mission.

Meanwhile, now on the dock, Alannah worried as their group cautiously came onto the island. Why did she have to pick Rafael to stay back on the ship? Alannah thought, He's not as good as I am at steering the ship, I know that much. Is it because she thinks I might be able to help find the jewel faster just because I'm the Master Navigator? I know a lot about navigation, but that's navigation of the seas and main islands, and not the private, unknown islands of the rich...

The land crew only ran into a few of the hired soldiers as they followed the main path of the island which they hoped would lead them to the mansion. However, they saw why there were few guards on the main path when they ran into their first obstacle, a completely solid stone wall which surrounded the mansion and the gardens in front of it, as well as a fanciful iron gate as the only opening into their only entrance into the place. Not only that, but there were multiple guards surrounding the opening, at least four on the wall while there were eight at the gate itself.

"Talk about overkill," Alannah said as the group approached the gate, "But does anyone have any idea as to how we're getting past this wall?"

[Eternity's Ruin - Deck]
After being called to the deck, Florecia met up with Mamoru and listened to captain's orders.
Florecia: Oh, so I'm with land team? This is pretty surprising.
Mamoru: Want to swap weapons?
Florecia: Well, this is an option, but I doubt you can fight well with my sword.
Mamoru: True. And I guess captain decided on you because of your speciality, which would change, should you change weapon.
Florecia: But it's pretty hard to be stealthy with it.
Mamoru: Well, who knows. Maybe your role will be to smash doors or carry something. At the very least, I doubt there will be much stealth involved, so be ready for some fighting. Whatever it is, I pretty much envy land team now. You're... useful to have.
Florecia: Shisho... was that an insult or compliment? Though wait, knowing you... statement of a fact, I guess.
After discussing captain's orders, the two saluted to show they agreed with their positions and it was about time for land crew to start moving, as the ship battle began. Mamoru manned the ballista and waited for captain's orders. Yukine, though not participating, was also doing some action, bringing sacks of sand from the storage to use in case of fire.

[Jazeera Island - Near the main gate]
Meanwhile, land group got stopped by an iron gate. Their master navigator, who got stuck with them for some reason, asked about ways to overcome it, which Florecia instantly started considering.
Florecia: If it was a wooden door, I could break it with a few swings of my sword, but iron fence is impossible. Now then... explosives... an option, but I doubt anyone brought any and we would need a lot... not to mention loud noise. Next option is luring - make the enemy open their own gates. I guess it is possible if we do something from outside, but... the only thing I can think of is someone shooting guards from outside from behind some cover. But this are a lot of risks: danger for the sniper, possibility of them closing the gate again after letting their troops out and alarm. So that leaves... grappling hooks. Classic, but it's not a bad idea, especially since the wall isn't that high. But I don't have any and I would prefer siege ladders to them.
She stopped talking for a bit and looked around. Then she smirked, as if thinking of something.
Florecia: Well, now that I think about it, there is a lot of ladders growing around here. Now here's a role for me or anyone with an axe. Sure, there are no trees growing next to the wall, but... we can fell a tree. I can do it with two-three swings of my sword. Next, me and someone else with enough brute strength, Garrosh-san, that pretty much only describes you and me here, can carry that tree to the wall and lean it against it. It's not that hard to climb it, especially when it's leaned a bit. Pretty much a primitive ladder, but I doubt we have enough time to craft a normal one. I was hoping for a wooden gate, so I didn't consider storming the wall, but yeah, that's pretty much all I can think of. The main problem is stealth again. We should fell trees far enough so they won't notice or hear that. Also, it won't be easy for me to climb the tree with that sword of mine after carrying it here, so until I rest, the best I can do is hold it steady for climbers. If they open the gate - it'd be perfect, but if it's too hard, I'll just climb last or wait outside. Well, this is just a suggestion, after all, so if anyone has a better idea, or at least any other ideas, please state it.

(Lol, now that I think of it, aside from Cain, we have two humans with dwarf-like strength and a lot of elves at landing team.)

[Arthur Jansen]
[South Ocean - Jazeera Island]

After making a thorough preparation, the Eternity Ruin finally set sail to Vernes Island. Then, the Captain decided to stop the ship and splits the crew into 2 groups that was planned before.

"The land crew is as follows," Ruby continued, "Alannah Vantas, Asa Sterling, Garrosh Bladefury, Lanver Duskmoon, Aleria Windrunner, Florecia, and Ragual Leon, with Cain Torreador as the leader of the land crew. Everyone else will stay on the ship with me. I hope there aren't any objections, since this is the plan that I have in mind and it's the plan that I'm sticking with."

Arthur felt a bit disappointed though, as fighting with soldiers is his expertise.

Arthur: "Too bad that I didn't get chosen though. It'll be a solid one, seeing the Quartermaster is on the group."

With that being settled with, Arthur returned to his post, this time, handling the cannons. Everything went quiet and stationary on the ship, until the Captain ordered the crew to fire the cannons. Several shots were fired, and the cannonballs landed on its target. The Eternity Ruin is then on the move again, presumably dropping the land crew on the island after that surprise attack on one of the enemy's ships.

Arthur: "Well, that was a good start. It's been a while since I have fired some cannons."

Arthur began to feel a rush of adrenaline. Maybe this is why people decided to be pirates. Fight, steal, and get wealth more than you earn in a lifetime.

@All - As stated in the RP'ers club, I'm not sure what's going to happen with me when Thursday rolls around. I may not post for a while until I can pull myself out of the hole.

At the very least, I'll get in contact with Toyumi to explain things in case it doesn't go well.

[Eternity's Ruin - Deck]

Asa was surprised to hear that he would be part of the landing team, he is a doctor after all, not a trained fighter. On the other hand, he understood that the group would require some kind of doctor and surgeon to be present on the front lines in case there were injuries.

'Well, it's not ideal, but I suppose I don't have much of a choice. I'll need to load my cloak with the proper medical equipment before departing. I hope that my protégé is capable of operating in the event that I do not return, or in case I end up being the one to get injured.'

Luna was also present for the meeting on the deck, but was tuning the speech out for the most part. She was assigned to stay aboard the ship, which made sense considering it was her duty to keep it in operating condition. After everything was said and done, she happily went back to what she originally set out to do. The meeting had interrupted her while she was replacing a small hinge on the ship, and she was eager to get back to finish the job.

'Probably not a good idea to be doing this at this particular time, now that I think about it. On the other hand, I'm already in the middle of it, I might as well finish what I started before I get sidetracked by something else.'

A thought suddenly occurred to Luna as she was going about her work. She scratched her head gently with her wrench before continuing her thought out loud.

"Oh yeah, wasn't I supposed to have an assistant or something? I wonder what happened with that?"

[South Ocean - Jazeera Island]

After the battle began and the land crew disembarked, Asa tagged along with his assigned group, mainly staying near the back as they made their way towards a large mansion. One of the other Elven crew members seemed a little preoccupied with something, and Asa couldn't help but speculate as to what it could be. He assumed that it had to be something related to her group assignment, but on the other hand, he could see quite a few members of the group that would likely be thinking about that same subject.

'Come to think of it, why is the Master Navigator part of the landing team? Our target should not be particularly difficult to find considering the grand nature of mansions, so her skills do not seem to be of much use in a situation such as this. I wonder what the Captain's thought process was behind this decision. There must be a logic to it.'

The landing team eventually reached their destination, but ran into what the others on the team called 'a problem'. Asa preferred to call it an oversight, something that should have been taken into account during the mission planning. Of course, he had no room to criticize anyone else as it was his choice to not take part in said planning in the first place. A young sailor girl quickly started suggesting a plans of attack, all of them wildly different in terms of approach. Asa felt the need to speak up, despite the fact that he was only present for medical support.

"If I may speak up, I think there are a few things worth clarifying before you decide on a course of action. First of all, a brute force method would be unwise. In case anyone here is unsure why, I would like to direct their attention to the fact that this landing team is comprised primarily of elves. Secondly, at least one of those elves is essentially useless in a fight."

Asa raised his own hand at that final comment, signalling that he was referring to himself.

"Please take those things into account before reaching a decision. As for actual ideas, I'm afraid the only thing I can suggest is an attempt at deception. If there were some kind of excuse for a surgeon to enter the mansion, that would eliminate the issue of the locked gate. Beyond that, I'm sorry to say that I have nothing to offer."

[ Vernes Island ]

Both Garrosh and Lanver was chosen as the part of the land team, along with them are the ship's Quartermaster, Master Navigator, and Doctor. Lanver seems to be unsure on what the Captain was thinking when she picked the land team, but he didn't question the Captain's orders.

As soon as the land team dropped from the ship, they proceeds through the main path, they didn't encounter many guards that they were expecting, as they approaches the first obstacle, they see why they didn't.

The obstacle was a solid stone wall with an iron gate with many guards stationed on it. Florecia was the first to talk about what approach they should use. She stated the luring, explosion, siege ladder, and grappling hook approach. Lanver seemed to agree with the luring and grappling hook approach. Then Asa, the ship's doctor went against the approach that primarily uses brute strength as there are elves who are weaker in term of brute strength in the team and that Asa was essentially useless in battle. He suggested an attempt in deception. Where he needs to find an excuse so that he could get inside.

Lanver : "Doctor, your suggestion is actually good... But, one problem... Private Island, the owner must've got his own complete medical staff."

Lanver looked at the wall, he checked some guards that were stationed. He looked back at the group.

Lanver : "We should take out the guards on the wall first, most of them are probably archers."

Garrosh : "Hold on there one-eye, there are 4 of them, while we have 2 sharpshooters, you and Aleria. Are you sure that the 2 of you are able to take them out without any detection? Not to mention there were some in front of the gate... That greatly risks detection."

Lanver then crosses his arm, he couldn't seem to find any way to get in without risking detection.

Lanver : "Good point, I couldn't think of any other plans... What about your's?"

Garrosh then proceed with telling the group about his plans.

Garrosh : "Alright... First, I'll remind you guys something..."

Garrosh then reminds the group that the wall didn't surround the back side of the mansion.

Garrosh : "We could try getting in by going around the walls and enter from the back... But, more guards are stationed at the back. There are more guards, yes... But that should be no problem if we know how to be sneaky and all. My idea is that, once we're at the other side of the mansion, we're to split to decrease the chance of detection. Once we're inside, we find a way to meet up, making sure that everyone made it inside, and then find the damn jewel and make it out alive with the jewel... Seems simple enough no?"

Lanver : "It would work, but what if the guards spot us when we haven't even got inside yet?"

Garrosh : "We fight them as hard as we could, but we're to fight smart... Rely not only in brute strength but rely on other factors such as environment and or something else. I'm pretty much done with what I have to say about how to get through, if any other of you came up with better plans, do tell... I only suggests a course of action after all."

[Vernes Island]
After listening to other members and their suggestion, Florecia decided it was necessary to comment.
Florecia: First of all, Garrosh-san, I remember about the back entrance, but I have a feeling it is only accessable by water. First of all, we're trying to storm this wall exactly because back entrance is not an option. Taking care of archers is a good point, but that won't solve the door problem, but it might alert the guards, and doing so while we're still outside isn't a good choice. And one correction in a support of my plan - the only ones doing any brute force are us humans. We carry the tree here and place it as a ladder, then it's the elven role - climb the tree to get on the wall and take care of the guards. I don't think you can call tree-climbing a brute strength, it's mostly agility, which is, if I'm correct, an elven speciality. I believe me and Garrosh-san, maybe with the help of Cain-san, can carry a trunk long enough to reach the top of the wall. And, considering it's the elves who do the climbing, I don't think it has to be that thick of a trunk. I also agree that the unknown doctor on a private island is extremely suspicious. Sure, you can introduce yourself as a new recruit, that might work... but the risk is too high, especially if they start confirming it. Not to mention, what can a single medic do inside? I doubt even us fighter types won't be able to do anything alone. We could try to slip while the gate is open for you to enter, but I'm sure the small door in it they're going to open, and they won't open a whole gate for a single suspicious person, will be a perfect target for archers. We would need someone with a tower shield to stay alive there. Well, whatever the case, we have a leader, so it's his call. We could try my plan and we could try to check the wall edges first to see if we can pass there, though that wouldn't be much of a fence then.

[Cain Torreador - Vernes Island]

Before Cain even began to say a single word, his part of the crew began to spout their own ideas for the most efficient way possible. Worst part of it all, they began to argue, causing quite a ruckus. If their actions didn't cause the guards to hear them, then their voices would. After a minute, Cain had heard enough.

"All of you shut your mouths this instant or I'll have your heads for insubordination!" Cain hissed at his crew mates. Once everyone had settled down he continued, addressing everyone's suggestion.

"Florecia, I take it you've never heard the sound of splintering wood before? A tree large enough to scale that wall would sound like gunfire, we'd alert the guards an in instant, and we don't have the supplies to grapple up the wall. Garrosh, as Asa said, brute force would be extremely unwise. any prolonged battle will alert the guards inside, and the ones out here would have an almost endless supply of reinforcements, while we won't be getting a single; the captain and the ship have their own problems to attend to. Besides, it's my job to make sure that we go on with as least casualties as possible, and I plan to do my job diligently."

After Cain's long-winded explanation, he took a breath and continued. "And before any of you retort, I already know how we'll be attacking this situation. We're not going over, and we're not going through with force. Instead, it'll be an adaption to Florecia's lure suggestion." Cain then turned towards Alannah, the ships Master Navigator.

"Alannah," Cain began, "You're the highest ranking women in this group, so I think you're the best for this job. You'll lay in the middle of the road and pretend to be injured, calling for help while the rest of us wait in the bushes. When the guards comes, explain to them that you're in the need of assistance and protection. You'll probably be deemed as an intruder, but once their guards are down, the rest of us will silently," Cain emphasized that word, "take out the guards, whether it's by death or knocking them unconscious. From there, we'll loot their bodies of their armor and keys, and take our pretty little 'prisoner' here captive and escort her into the mansion where we'll begin our search."

[Rafael Bucker - Eternity's Ruin]

With Alannah assigned to the land crew, Rafael was left in charge to take control of the helm of the ship since he was the Master Navigator's mate. The only problem was that Rafael was a country bumpkin, and had next to no experience handling an aquatic vessel besides the instruction he had from Alannah earlier in the day.

So far, Ruby's instructions had been quite simple on where to steer the ship, and even Rafael could do that much. But it was when the battle at sea actually started that he worried about. Rafael didn't believe that he'd be able to control the ship competently enough to avoid a barrage of cannonballs, or line the ship up so they could take fire on the island.

"Oh my, miss Alannah, please come back safely, so I do not become cursed to this trade of which I know nothing..." Rafael thought to himself. Rafael wish Alannah not only a safe return so he wouldn't have to steer the ship at all times, but because, in the small time they had together so far, Rafael felt a genuine bond of kinship with his elven Master Navigator.

[Vernes Island]

Alize nodded as Asa explained that they should wait and see how things turn out when the others decide to launch their attack. They spent the rest of the day waiting to see if any injuries turned up and soon they were sailing back to Vernes Island. The ship stopped and Ruby came out to give us her orders.

"As some of you may already know," she began, "I'm splitting the crew in two for this mission. One will enter the front of the island and enter the mansion from there to search for the jewel, while the other will stay on board with me to distract and possibly take down the two ships guarding the island."

Alize waited patiently to hear who would be in which group.

So it was just like I thought. Asa and I will be seperated Alize thought.

Everyone waited and when the cannonballs were ordered to be fired the land crew jumped off. I watched as they stayed out of sight of the guards.

I turned to Ruby, awaiting any more commands before I went back to the medical room.

Name: Löriett del Ross
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Location: South Ocean, Jazeera
Role: Sailor

Personality: She is a sweet girl with a sunny personality. She has a darker mysterious side that many people notice but cannot quite pinpoint. She does adorable things by accident and tries to act sophisticated. She trusts people easily but does not grow terribly attached to them, at least not quickly. She is also a little nervous around men because of a particular event in her past. She cares about others and can often be described as “motherly, but in a good way.”

Bio: Löri grew up amongst the riches of Jazeera Island but only because her father worked for one of the most influential Human families in Hysle, the les Grande, family. Her father, Captain del Ross, was in command of a large vessel. When in port he was also the right hand man of M. les Grande. Blessed with the experiences of her early life she left the les Grande home at the age of eighteen to travel the seas with her father. She was tortured by her mates for her fancy talk, manners and minimal knowledge of sea tactics. She learned quickly but not without suffering. She was assaulted by her father’s navigator and forced to tell her father it was her fault. She was disowned and left behind at the next port. She struggled to survive but emerged strong and determined to seek revenge on the man who disgraced her. She spent the rest of the time, until present, working as a spy for high paying patrons. Mr. G came to her seeking her skills she agreed and boarded the ship as a sailor.

Löriett l Eternity's Ruin l Deck

Löriett slowly took in the seen noting everyone's specific position, their actions, and their assigned responsibilities. It was her second natur to observe everyone and make judgments as to their motivation for joining the crew. Since the voyage began Löri had hung back, keeping to herself below deck, as she had been instructed. She doubted the captain even knew she was on board, or had at least forgotten her existence, but that was only speculation. The rest of the crew certainly hadn't noticed her she had hung in shadows by night listening to conversations, observing people in their leisure hours to see if anything might come up that would interfere with her agenda aboard the ship.

I want to be on that land mission. I know I would be of help since I know the island... and the mansion. I could learn so much about the people on the land crew... Nothing reveals secrets like stress when you know how to look for them.

Löri sighed and leapt off of her perch in the nettings. She crossed the deck to the captain.

"So... um... what exactly do you want me to do?" She asked, even though she could have looked around and figured out something to do in the chaos of the moment. She just wanted to see if her suspicion was right or not.

OOC: (Directly copied from the edit to my latest post in Gendou RPer's United) I got a response from Icarael that he has dropped the RP, so now the Carpenter Mate role is available. I'm going to offer it to those who have sailor-only characters for now, just to give them a shot at having a character with a bit more authority since the Mate roles were taken fairly quickly. If you want the role, please PM me about it. I'll decide who gets the role with a randomizer thing, if there's going to be any sort of competition for the role at all. XD

[South Ocean - Vernes Island]

Alannah listened thoughtfully as the others listed their ideas for how to get past the gate which blocked their way into the mansion.

Explosives? Knocking down trees? Alannah thought as Florecia mentioned her ideas, Both of those would cause quite a bit of noise. The grappling hooks, however... It's a decent idea, but would we have enough to get all of us over the wall in a timely manner? I know for sure that I didn't bring one with me.

Alannah pretty much agreed to Asa's reply, nodding in agreement when he mentioned that some of the elves on their team couldn't fight very well. However, she also silently agreed with Lanver with the fact that this Vernes person probably had his own private medical staff on-site. She wasn't too sure if she liked the idea of splitting up after somehow entering from the rear of the mansion, if they could enter that way at all since, from Ruby's observations earlier in the day, it appeared to be on a cliff.

Just as Alannah opened her mouth and was about to raise her concerns, she was stopped by Cain.

"All of you shut your mouths this instant or I'll have your heads for insubordination!" Cain yelled. At this, Alannah shut her mouth once more and swallowed her thoughts. He can certainly be scary when he has to Alannah thought.

"Florecia, I take it you've never heard the sound of splintering wood before?" Cain asked, "A tree large enough to scale that wall would sound like gunfire, we'd alert the guards an in instant, and we don't have the supplies to grapple up the wall.

Cain took a breath before he continued, getting to his own thoughts on the matter.

"And before any of you retort," Cain continued, "I already know how we'll be attacking this situation. We're not going over, and we're not going through with force. Instead, it'll be an adaption to Florecia's lure suggestion."

At this, Cain turned to Alannah, who disliked being put on the spot all of a sudden.

"Alannah," Cain began, "You're the highest ranking woman in this group, so I think you're the best for this job. You'll lay in the middle of the road and pretend to be injured, calling for help while the rest of us wait in the bushes. When the guards comes, explain to them that you're in the need of assistance and protection. You'll probably be deemed as an intruder, but once their guards are down, the rest of us will silently..."

Cain held out the word, emphasizing it before he continued

"Take out the guards," Cain continued, "Whether it's by death or knocking them unconscious. From there, we'll loot their bodies of their armor and keys, and take our pretty little 'prisoner' here captive and escort her into the mansion where we'll begin our search."

Alannah thought it over, and despite her doubts, she spoke up.

"Alright," Alannah said, "It makes enough sense, plus it should get us into the mansion undetected if all goes well. I'll take up the duty as the damsel in distress for the sake of the mission."

She smiled, and after deep breath in and out for confidence, she turned towards the group.

"Prepare yourselves," Alannah said, "And wish me luck."

With that, she ran out of the bushes and onto the path. When she was in sight of the guards, she fell down, getting the attention of the the guards at the gate in an instant.

"Oh help, help!" Alannah said, "I've been out at sea for days when... When our ship sank, forcing me to hold onto a piece of driftwood for dear life! Somebody, help... Aughhhhh..."

With that, Alannah pretended to black out. Her face was to the ground, yet she could hear that a good majority of the guards at the gate abandoned their posts as they ran towards her. The plan that Cain told me was a bit different from this... Alannah thought as the guards bent down to inspect her, Oh well, I guess some improvisation works just as well.

Alannah remained as limp as she could while the guards continued to inspect her and wonder what to do with her, hoping that she had given her group an appropriate chance to ambush the guards.

[South Ocean - Eternity's Ruin]

As Ruby remained on the ship, much of the crew there turned to her with wondering eyes, including one girl in particular, Loriett, who Ruby hadn't really noticed much before. Ruby looked towards the crew surrounding her, and was taken aback. Can't they just... Uh... Go to their positions? Ruby thought.

"Alright, everyone head to your usual positions," Ruby said, "Man the cannons and ballista's! I will, however, need some help from a few of the sailors, as well as the servants, for bringing some of the cooking oil on deck."

At this, a group of sailors surrounded Ruby, ready to help her with carrying the barrels of cooking oil. At this, they went into the belly of the ship and stormed the kitchen, causing Milo to worry.

"He- Hey! What are you doing?" Milo exclaimed, "This is for the cooking, where are you going with it?"

"It's for our mission," Ruby stated to the servant, "We need it to win, Milo."

Milo ran a hand through his hair as the ship started to rock, presumably from some cannon fire from one of the two opposing ships.

"I'll leave you enough to cook with until we make landfall somewhere else," Ruby said as she exited the kitchen with another crew member and one of the barrels, "You won't be left without cooking oil for too long, I promise!"

When she left, Milo sighed, and came to the conclusion that if he couldn't fight it, he might as well pitch in with the efforts to bring the barrels to the deck. As he grabbed a barrel with the help of another sailor, he could only wonder about the situation they were in. Why did I agree to this, again? Milo thought.

Meanwhile, as Ruby came onto the deck again, she saw that the other ship was indeed slowly making progress towards them despite it's previous injuries. Not only that, but the second ship had come around to the front of the island as well, and was headed towards Eternity's Ruin, much faster than the first ship and from the opposite direction. At this, Ruby saw that it was the perfect chance to put her plan into action.

"Alright everyone," Ruby shouted, "Whoever's manning the cannons and ballista's, continue to fire at the ship we fired at previously. For anyone who isn't at either of those positions, help dump the cooking oil out from the rear of the ship! Rafael, steer us straight towards the first ship. Pick up some speed, and try not to let us get hit by too many cannonballs!"

By now, Ruby was truly excited by the battle, unafraid as she set up her trap. If all goes well... Ruby thought, No, even if only a part of it goes well, not only would we have a chance of victory, but we will be victorious. I don't want to get too cocky, but I'm sure that we can pull this off. I just know it.

Ruby smiled at the thought as she began to pour the cooking oil out of the ship. She could only hope that the ship following them would continue to do so. As long as it did, then Ruby knew without a doubt that her plan would work.

[South Ocean - Jazeera Island]

Asa wasn't surprised to see his suggestion shot down, but he couldn't help from rolling his eyes at Cain's plan.

'Ah yes, an unknown doctor appearing on the island for any reason at all is ludicrously absurd, but a number of guards leaving their positions to check on a young woman's pleas for help on a private island is foolproof. That's not even taking into account the fact that there may be fewer guards returning than there were leaving, or the fact that some of the guards will have inexplicably changed gender, height, build, and voice.'

Asa held back his assessment of Cain's plan for a number of reasons, but mostly because Alannah had already left to enact the plan and it was too late to voice any issues. He also had no alternative suggestions, so he wasn't in a position to argue. Finally, Cain seemed to be in no mood to discuss the matter any further, so it was highly unlikely that anything said to him would get through at this point.

'I guess we will simply have to rely on the remaining guards being completely absent-minded. I certainly want this plan to work of course, since we'll be killed if it doesn't, but a very small part of me sincerely hopes that no guard could be that thick-headed.'

After Alannah went to work distracting the guards, the rest of the group was to move in and take them out. Cain didn't specify a dead or alive policy, and Asa certainly didn't have the physical strength necessary to knock someone out, so he had little choice but to take the only other choice. As the group moved in, Asa produced two medical scalpels from his cloak. He quickly went to work on one of the guards, driving one blade upward into the back of his skull and using the other to attack the throat. When the guard dropped, he used a small cloth to carefully wipe the blood from the blades and stowed them away in his cloak once more.

"A bit sloppy I suppose, but considering the circumstances I think I did an acceptable job."

He then offered his hand to Alannah to help her back to her feet as everyone began enacting the second phase of the plan.

"I don't suppose you would like a critique of your performance?"

[South Ocean - Eternity's Ruin]

Luna was livid with the Captain's plan of dumping cooking oil overboard. Dumping it would also mean it having to be moved across the deck, and given the chaos currently going on, it was likely that some of it was going to get spilled. She had no problem with the boat getting damaged, but swabbing the decks was something she considered beneath her.

'Please, please, please don't spill anything! I'm going to have a ton of interesting stuff to fix up after this is done with, the last thing I want is for that to be ruined by having to mop the deck.'

Despite her worries, Luna pitched in to assist with the Captain's plan. Part of her wanted to help out purely so that she could oversee the progress and make sure everything went smoothly.

[Cain Torreador - South Ocean - Vernes Island]

With Alannah agreeing to Cain's plan, the rest of the land group hid in the surrounding brush, ready to attack. Cain had to admit that the plan wasn't fool-proof, nor was it the best to go by, but no one else exactly threw out keen ideas. Once Alannah began her act, Cain became extra focused. She had pretended to black and, and hit the ground, face first. That part of the performance, Cain thought deserved a silent applause.

A group a guards about as large as the Cain's group soon came to investigate Alannah's body. They began to discuss something that Cain was unable to heard, and a few began to pick Allanah up, but something was different, wrong even. They were being rough, not like someone would be when helping someone, but taking them captive. Cain took his axe off of his belt, and motioned for the others to follow his lead, this was their only chance to save Alannah and loot the guards.

Cain jumped out of the bushes, startling the guards as his crew followed. He grabbed one of the guards as he was about to call for backup, but Cain bashed the handle of the axe into the guards face, instantly shattering his nose and knocking him out. After that guard fell, another was quickly on Cain, and drew a sword down on Cain. Cain lifted his axe to parry the blow, and overpowered the guard. However, Cain couldn't avoid killing this guard, as his axe sunk into a chink in the armor between the guard's neck and shoulder. If the guard wasn't dead right away, he would bleed to death shortly.

As Cain looked around, it seemed as though his crew did a remarkable job dealing with the others, which pleased him. Perhaps he didn't have to be a drill sergeant this entire mission, if his crew were competent out in the field.

"Alright, now that the easy part is done with, strip them of their armor and keys if they have some. Once you've donned their armor, toss their bodies in the bushes. Also, try to remove as much blood as possible from the armor, we don't want to arouse too much suspicion." Cain advised his crew.

Cain stripped the armor off of the guard that he drove his axe into, and put it on himself, making an extra effort to angle the helmet so his face was covered more. He also picked up a set of keys off the guard, and with his new armor, Cain tossed the guard's body in the bushes. Once everyone was ready, Cain took a moment to honor those had died. He may be contracted as a pirate, but was by no means a savage, despite how he presented himself.

Cain stepped behind Alannah and put his hand on her shoulder.

"Nice acting out there," Cain complimented her, "I give that fall a 10/10. But the act's not over yet. You're going to have to play prisoner a little longer. I need you to put your hands behind your back."

Alannah seemed to give Cain an unhappy look to which he responded, "Oh I'll be gentile. Now stop whining." Although the two seemed to be unhappy with each other, Cain did have a respect for Alannah since she had taken care of herself for most of her life, like himself. Alannah complied to Cain's demands, and he gripped her wrists as gently as he could, which was pretty gentile for a brute like himself.

"Alright, before we go out, I just want to say good job out there. You all performed admirably, but that was the easy part. Into the mansion we go, yeah?" Cain flashed his crew a smile, showing his human side for a change.

The group walked up the the large wall, at which they were stopped by a few other guards.

"We found her out on the road," Cain explained, in a deeper and rougher voice, "She says she washed ashore, but I personally think that she was snoopin' around. I'm taking her to the dungeon."

With Cain's act bought, the group was let inside the wall, with the mansion towering over them. The outside of the mansion itself was lavish, and Cain could tell just by the ornaments, that whoever lived inside, did not deserve his wealth.

[Rafael Bucker - South Ocean - Eternity's Ruin]
Soon enough, Rafael's worst nightmare materialized, as Ruby began to mobilize those left on the ship for battle. Sailors were arming and manning the ballistae and cannons, and sailors and servants alike were gathering a supply of cooking oil to leak overboard and ignite in their wake.

"Aye, Captain," Rafael responded rather feebly, completely sure of what his abilities could do.

The other ships were now firing at the Eternity's Ruin, and mist began to fall around them from the splash of the cannonballs. The ship also began to rock, due to the sinking lead, which made it even harder for Rafael to maneuver. As they got closer, Rafael decided that his abilities took them as far as they would get.

"Captain!" Rafael called out in a flustered voice, "I feel like that this is a nice moment for me to be honest with you: I don't have a blasted idea what I'm doing. I read maps, not steer ships, I don't have the faintest idea why I was chosen to steer this thing."

Rafael could tell by the look on Ruby's face that she was not happy with him for keeping this from her. Rafael sunk to his knees, hiding his face behind the wheel to avoid Ruby's gaze.

[South Ocean - Vernes Island]

Ragual, usually outspoken and mouthy, was another man when on a mission. The look that made him known as Lion in the underworld started show as he went in with the others to take down the guards.

He kicked a guard in the back of the leg making him buckle backwards. As the the guard was falling, Ragual caught him by the neck in between his arm and ribcage. He quickly pulled up as hard as he could as the body was still falling and sure enough he heard the crack of the guard's neck. The body went limp and Ragual let go looking to get the next guard closest to him. To his suprise the guards were already taken down. Even the doctor killed one which Ragual did not expect but respected.

Cain: "Alright, now that the easy part is done with, strip them of their armor and keys if they have some. Once you've donned their armor, toss their bodies in the bushes. Also, try to remove as much blood as possible from the armor, we don't want to arouse too much suspicion."

Ragual dawned on the armor much to his displeasurement as the armor restricted his movement.

"Alright, before we go out, I just want to say good job out there. You all performed admirably, but that was the easy part. Into the mansion we go, yeah?" Cain flashed the crew a smile, showing his human side for a change.

Ragual wanted to smile back but he has seen many of his comrades go down at this stage because of a simple mess up. It's not the getting in part thats hard, it's getting out he thought to himself.

The crew walked to the wall and Cain spoke to the other guards while holding Alannah.

Cain: "We found her out on the road," he explained, in a deeper and rougher voice, "She says she washed ashore, but I personally think that she was snoopin' around. I'm taking her to the dungeon."

They were satisfied with the explanation and let them pass. Ragual looked around as they were entering and it was something grandeur. He knew this type of man by experience and Ragual decided to speak.

Ragual: "I've stole from men like this before. I can tell just from his mansion that he is a person to buy anything just because it's there, but he knows real treasure from the normal treasure. If this jewel is as valuable as the Captain thinks it is, then this man probably keeps it in a personal stash with other really valuable treasures as to keep from anybody obtaining his real wealth. I willing to bet that it is in his room or study where he could keep an eye on it personally. In matter of fact, I'm willing to bet my life on it."

Ragual knew that there was a chance of his theory getting turned down, but he had to speak on past experience in rare weapons collection which he felt why the Captain chose him to be on this part of the mission.

[ Vernes Island ]

Garrosh followed suit as Cain jumped out of the bushes, he grabbed a guard and slammed the guard down to the ground, letting out a heavy punch to the guard, but as he about to stand up, a guard was about to slash him. Lanver was quick to rescue Garrosh, he draws out his bow and immediately shoot an arrow into between the guard's eye. Making the guard fall before Garrosh, Garrosh looked back to see who shot the arrow. He grinned and nod to Lanver.

As the group finished in dispatching the guards, Garrosh and Lanver takes the armor of the fallen guards and wear it to themselves. Lanver seemed to be okay with the armor as he was usually dressed in this kind of armor during his guard days.

Now that the easy part were dealt with, things will be harder when we got inside...

Lanver thought to himself. As the group gets inside the compound, they could see that it was grand. Ragual seemed to be experienced with stealing from a man like the owner of the island as he spoke about where the jewel might be, Garrosh don't seem to be care about it. Lanver looked around the compound.

Lanver : "We should get to the dungeon first before going anywhere around here. We've got a 'prisoner' with us anyways"

At least thats the stuff we should do to not blow the cover... Of course, I'm sure Cain have other plans that might be better than mine.

Lanver thought to himself as he spoke. He know better not to blow his cover.

[Arthur Jansen]
[South Ocean - Eternity's Ruin]

The naval battle continues on, as Arthur assists his fellow sailors loading the cannons. Through the cannon port, he can see their opponent is returning fire, and fortunately they missed. He heard something about cooking oils, but did not put much thought into it, until Arthur heard an audible shout by the Captain, even though he was below the deck.

Arthur: "Oh God, what is she trying to do...?"

He shook his head and chuckled, before manning the cannons.

Arthur: "Let's just hope everything goes well..."

[Cyrus - South Ocean - Eternity's Ruin]

Curys had headed to the fore of the ship and was holding into the side with one hand the other grasping a large vial. He was judging the distance between the ships with a small smile on his face.

"Just a bit closer..."

Then he judged the distance was enough and pulled his hand back and throwing the vial at the approaching ship. He watched as the vial flew towards the ship and into one of the gunports. At first nothing had seemed to happen from the vial, but after a short while there was an explosion on the enemy ship which blew out the gunport of the ship.

"Even better than I hoped, into gunpowder."

Cyrus turned away from the ship as he could see the flickering flames through the hole made by the explosion. He walked to where others were hauling the cauldron of oil. He grabbed the cauldron with both hands easing the job of others carrying it.

"The ship ahead has a slight fire problem."

@Haseo: I believe you missed the part when my character mentioned about felling the tree near the coast, not close to the wall and carry from there. I also believe you mislooked the fact that there is a ship battle happening nearby and sound of cannons would be a decent distraction. And finally, as Jon's character said, an injured person is pretty much as suspicious as an unknown doctor. But well, if we keep thinking about means of entry, this RP will never progress :)
@Toyumi: That's what I expected when I gave my characters carpentry and blacksmithing roles. For carpentry... Mamoru has it. Though I'm pretty much satisfied with him being a sailor, so I won't ask for that role, unless noone requests it.

[Vernes Island]
Though displeased with Cain's leadership that completely ignored crew's opinions and was clearly flawed, Florecia had little choice, as the plan was already set in motion. Hoping for the best, she hid along with everyone else, until the guards arrived. As they did and everyone went to attack, Florecia made a huge swing with her sword, hitting one guard with the side of her sword. Though he was armored, due to the sword's weight, the impact was enough for him to roll for some short distance and stay there, immobile. Florecia didn't bother to check if he was alive or not, as if not - he was at fault for becoming a guard without being sturdy enough. Right after the impact she jumped back to get some distance, but there was no need, as the amount of guards ended already.
Florecia: Now the hard part starts here. Being a woman is kinda suspicious here. Not to mention that my sword stands out too much, even the darkness won't fool anyone's eyes here. So I'll wait outside. If you can open the doors, I'll be more than glad to rejoin you, but if you don't, I might as well start a fire or something as a means of distraction.
Saying that, she walked a bit away from the group, to the distance where she could still see them and got ready to following them.

[Eternity's Ruin]
While everyone else were busy carrying the oil, Mamoru was trying to snipe with ballista. By the time everyone returned, at the enemy ship there was a ballista bolt, impaling the enemy cannoneer, though that was already the third one Mamoru fired. The first one was a test fire and landed at the water a solid distance away from enemy ship and the second one ended up in the mast with no noticeable damage. Having grasped the sensitivity, Mamoru's third shot was successful and he just loaded the fourth one.
Mamoru: Now then, a navigator or an another cannoneer... Hard choice. Normally I'd go with archers or ballista-users, but I don't see any yet. Well then, not to discourage our own novice navigator...
Saying that, Mamoru aimed and shot the next cannoneer. There were still few cannons remaining aimed at their side and they could be remanned with ease, especially as the enemy had no lack of crew, but at least that slowed them down, as their crew noticed that Ruin's ballista is aiming at their cannoneers, every sailor started considering the possibility of allowing others take the honor of dying from enemy's sharpshooting.
Mamoru: That'll buy us some time until their captain fixes that situation.
His words held some weight in them, as he was already reloading for the fifth shot.

@Jon: Yeah, sorry, fixed it. Wasn't paying attention - writing half-asleep :)

@ Massacre Town - I do have one other person who PMed me requesting the role, but as I said I'm going to decide it using a randomizer sort of thing and not on a first-come-first-served basis. But if you're satisfied with him being a sailor then that's fine. XD

Although, I do want to ask you about a few of the things you mentioned in your post. First, I don't think Haseo's character completely ignored the crew's suggestions, since some of the suggestions were along the lines of going in undercover or something of the like. In fact, he said in the post that he adapted a plan that your own character suggested, so you're not in much of a position for your character to call an adaption to her own plan flawed. Also, the post said that Alannah acting as a prisoner of the guards and that they (The group in disguise as guards) were taking her into the dungeon. She's not being taken into the mansion by the guards for being injured. I never mentioned anything like that in my post. The most she did was collapse just to gain the attention of the guards.

But as you said, this RP won't progress if we keep on talking about this, so I don't think it's right to bring up the topic and make suggestions about it when it has already been settled. What's done is done and the RP will keep on moving regardless.

And just one last thing, the group already managed to open the gates that lead to the mansion in spite of their disguises by the time you posted. That included your character, so your character doesn't have to be separated from the rest of the group at this point in time (That is, unless you want her to be separated from the others? Which could be more of a hassle rather than be a benefit to the mission, considering how they'll have to go back and get her later on).

[South Ocean - Vernes Island]

Just as Alannah thought, as soon as the guards let their guard down to focus on what to do with her, the others came out of the woods, swiftly taking the guards out. Alannah watched from the ground, having no need to get involved in the bloodshed around her. Not that she could do much to help anyway. Even the one elf who claimed earlier that he was useless in a fight, Asa, held his own as Alannah watched him take down one of the guards using only two scalpels.

"A bit sloppy I suppose," Asa commented afterwards, "But considering the circumstances I think I did an acceptable job."

Asa then offered Alannah a hand, of which she gladly accepted as she stood back up.

"I don't suppose you would like a critique of your performance?" Asa asked. At this, Alannah giggled, shrugging the thought off.

"No, it's fine, I'm sure that it wasn't the best," Alannah said as a sly smile crawled onto her face, "However, I would like to complement you on taking down those guards. And you claimed to be useless in a fight~"

Alannah stuck out her tongue at the doctor, however, she pulled it back in as soon as she felt a hand on her shoulder. She quickly turned around, somewhat embarrassed and hoping they hadn't seen her childish display, just to find out that it was Cain. Of course HE would be the one to ruin the fun, Alannah thought. However, her sour attitude faded away as she saw that he was actually in a good mood, for once.

"Nice acting out there," Cain said, "I give that fall a 10/10. But the act's not over yet. You're going to have to play prisoner a little longer. I need you to put your hands behind your back."

Alannah sighed at this, she had hoped that her act was over once they took out the guards.

"Oh I'll be gentile. Now stop whining." Cain stated. Seeing that she had no other option, Alannah followed Cain's orders as he held onto her wrists, just as if she was a prisoner.

"Alright, before we go out, I just want to say good job out there." Cain said to the others, "You all performed admirably, but that was the easy part. Into the mansion we go, yeah?"

The little encouragement speech from Cain surprised Alannah, yet what surprised her even more was that, for the first time since Alannah met the Quarter Master, Cain actually smiled towards the group.

After this, the group began to head out. Cain put on a little act for the guards at the wall, ones who apparently didn't budge from their positions when Alannah put on her own act. Surprisingly, the other guards believed Cain as they opened the gates for him and the others, leading them into the courtyard and the gardens that surrounded the mansion inside of the confinement of the large wall. Alannah couldn't help but sneak a peek at her surroundings once in awhile, lifting up her head from her prisoner act to look around. Everything was beautiful, the gardens must have been done by highly skilled professionals, while the mansion itself was majestically looking over them.

"I've stole from men like this before," Ragual said once the group was out of earshot from the guards by the wall, "I can tell just from his mansion that he is a person to buy anything just because it's there, but he knows real treasure from the normal treasure.

That is a good point, Alannah thought, But... We'll have to see when we get inside. Maybe he doesn't put his treasures on display, who knows?

"We should get to the dungeon first before going anywhere around here," Lanver said in response to Ragual, "We've got a 'prisoner' with us anyways."

"Well, we don't really know where we're going once we get inside the mansion, do we?" Alannah asked, "I mean, it would be great if we could find the dungeon or at least the underground portion of the mansion before we have to blow our cover altogether, but that may or may not be happening, depending on how easy or difficult it is to actually find that area of the mansion."

By this time, the group was almost to the main doors which led into the mansion. After seeing a few guards entering and exiting from these doors, the group confirmed that they too could enter through there without arousing any suspicion.

Here it goes, Alannah thought as they opened the doors and took their first steps into the mansion. As it turned out, Vernes seemed to not be as snobby about his riches as they thought. The main entry had a grand staircase leading up to the next floor in front of them, while there were two passageways that branched off to their left and to their right. The group quietly went to the right side hallway, of which Alannah could see that the only "treasures" Mr. Vernes kept in his hallways were paintings, evenly spaced as the group went down the hall.

Once they were deep in the mansion, the group started to peer into its rooms. As they looked into more and more rooms, they found that these rooms were all empty, coming to the conclusion that the bedrooms and such of the mansion must be in the two floors above them. With that fact in mind, they looked into practically every room in the direction they were going, wherever that may be, only skipping rooms as guards passed their group, which wasn't very often. They found jewels in some of these rooms, however, they were typically a part of some other item or piece of furniture, and likewise deemed that it was not what they were looking for.

As they passed by one hallway, however, Alannah saw a guard some ways down. Apparently the others must have seen the guard as well, as they stopped once they passed by the other side of the hallway.

"My eyes aren't playing tricks on me, and there is a guard down that hallway, correct?" Alannah asked, "So, what do you think we should do. As of now, I think we're heading in the right direction for the dungeon, since none of the guards that passed us seemed to be concerned with the direction we were headed, but since that guard is just standing there, he might be guarding something."

"I don't know, it's just a hunch." Alannah said jokingly as she looked to Cain and the others, wanting to hear their opinion on the matter and if they should continue in their current direction, or see what the guard is guarding.

[South Ocean - Eternity's Ruin]

Ruby was glad to see that a good majority of the crew, so long as they were no preoccupied with manning the tanks and ballista's, were following orders and helping to dump the oil, leaving a faint and hardly noticeable trail behind them. However, her plan was not with out its problems, as the combat-situation proved to be too difficult for her Master Navigator-Mate, Rafael, to maneuver the ship.

"Captain!" Rafael called out in a flustered voice, "I feel like that this is a nice moment for me to be honest with you: I don't have a blasted idea what I'm doing. I read maps, not steer ships, I don't have the faintest idea why I was chosen to steer this thing."

Ruby's face must have shown her feelings, as Rafael ducked behind the wheel, avoiding Ruby's gaze.

"Well, that's just bloody great." Ruby said as she marched to the helm. There, she took the wheel from Rafael, pushing him out of the way and steering the ship on her own. It wasn't something that was entirely new to her, she had plenty of experience being at the wheel of her father's ship, she just had to adapt her skills to the combat-situation at hand. Thankfully, the Eternity's Ruin was fairly easy to do so, being much more maneuverable than any time she had taken the wheel on her father's ship.

As she continued the course to the first ship, she saw something fly towards it out of the corner of her eye. She looked, and saw that it was a bottle. She smiled, knowing from earlier who the source of that bottle was as the ship in front of them now had to deal with yet another problem, this one caused by some Greek fire.

With the ship in front having been considerably slowed down, Ruby turned her attention to the ship behind them. Seeing that it was now in the trail of oil left behind them, she sharply turned the ship around.

"Cut it out with the oil!" Ruby yelled, at which the crew obeyed. Ruby took the ship out of the oil-infested water, and entrusted Rafael with the ship once more.

"Hold onto this for just a moment," Ruby said, running down into the belly of the ship, and gathered up a number of torches she found earlier while making preparations for the mission.

"Here, grab one!" Ruby called out to the crew members who were previously dumping oil out of the ship. When she only had two torches left, she took out a package of matches. After a few tries, one of her torches was now lit, and with this she demonstrated what they were to do with them.

"I don't have enough matches to go around," Ruby said, "But you can use my torch that's already been lit. Once you light your own torch..."

Ruby took the second torch in her hand, and lit it using the flame from the first.

"Throw it over to the enemy ship!" Ruby yelled as she tossed the torch over to the enemy ship that was surrounded by oil. Her torch didn't land on the deck of the ship, but it hit the side of it and caused it to catch fire. The fire began to spread, and once it touched the surface of the water, it was instead met with oil, lighting that on fire as well.

As the others began to do so, Ruby handed her torch to one of the crew members, then returned back to the helm, taking control of the ship for Rafael once more.

"Sorry about that," Ruby said, "But with a little luck this'll be over soon enough."
