The Calling of the Seas

Plot Introduction:

On a day like any other in the world of Hysle, a group of people (Some talented, others more ordinary) were gathered together on a particular ship by a mysterious man. This man had sent out for each person that was gathered here today, whether by letter or in person, and yet, none of these people knew who exactly this man was or what he wanted with them. He only promised them money, lots of it, and the possibility of fame, if they accepted his request. This request was the reason they were all gathered on the ship on this day, with any and all travel expenses paid for by this man, to hear what this man's plea and figure out what they would do about it.

The man stood atop a box, and whistled loudly, silencing anyone who might have been chit-chatting and gathering their attention. For those who had not seen him before, his appearance might have been quite the surprise. He was a short human, bald with tanned skin and wearing a navy suit. Despite his appearance, he spoke in a deep voice to the crowd before him.

"Thank you all, for coming here," the man said, "I bet you are all wondering who I am; but more importantly, why I have gathered you all on this ship on this fine day."

He smiled and paused before he continued.

"Well, I'll start by saying a bit about myself," the man said, "You all can call me Mr. G. I am a man of wealth, acquiring much of it by making many good choices which led to my current life in my youth."

"Now, I have gathered you on this ship today for a single reason," Mr. G said, "I would like you all to become pirates."

There was some shock among his audience, causing Mr. G to chuckle before he continued.

"Now now, pirating is only a part of your duties," Mr. G said, "It's not all of it. Your main objective is to get 4 specific, rare jewels for me. So in some cases, this may require piracy, the art of stealing from others either on land or at sea, while in others, it may only require you all to do some investigation and some exploring."

"I cannot explain much more at this current moment," Mr. G said, "Including the reason why I need these jewels, in case you were wondering. Like I have said multiple times, I assure you great pay if you accept. When you do, if you do accept, I'll assign you your role on the ship, which happens to be the one we're on at this moment."

He paused again, allowing them to think for a moment, then added one more statement.

"This could be the adventure of a lifetime for some of you," Mr. G said, "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel around the world, being cared for and provided money for any basic needs while finding these 4 jewels, and in the end you will certainly gain quite a bit of money and maybe even fame. Of course, the choice is yours, but think about it. I need your answer by the end of the day, come to me when you have made your final decision."

With that, Mr. G disappeared into the belly of the ship; and with that, our journey begins.

Plot Summary and General Notes about the RP

Basically, all of the players are now pirates, regardless of whether they were pirates before the events of the introduction or not, working for the rich man who hired them, who only introduced himself as Mr. G. They have to collect 4 rare jewels for him, which are supposedly scattered across the world of Hysle, although no one knows why Mr. G need these jewels.

As stated before, the world of this RP is a fantasy world called Hysle. In this world, guns and grenades do not exist (Let's just say they haven't been invented yet), although ballista's are popular and cannons are now on the rise as well. The only means of long-distance communication are letters: Telegraphs, telephones, etc. do not exist (Naturally, Radio's and other more modern technology don't exist either). Factories ran on water power, and ships were all sailing ships and depended upon the wind. Other than those specifications, the rest of the technology and other everyday items or inventions can be from the early Industrial Revolution time period. This would include the printing press, clocks and pocket watches, compasses, telescopes, brick oven stoves, etc. (I'll add more inventions later as more questions come up regarding this aspect of the RP).

I'm sorry if this all seems confusing and a bit like a history lesson, but basically it's a fantasy world and just don't use technology that "doesn't fit" (So, modern technology, electricity, cameras, etc.). If you have a question about something then please PM me about it.

The ship of our RP, given to the captain (Ruby Flintlock) by Mr. G, is named Eternity's Ruin. It is a "modern" and top of the line ship, having a brick oven stove, ballista's, and even a few cannons, as well as other nifty and quaint corners which will be explained later in detail. However, a few of these include a wine storage area, a small library, and, of course, average living quarters (Bedrooms) for sailors, servants, and mates (Smallest), upper, in-charge positions (Larger), and for the Quarter Master and Captain (Largest, with the captain's also including an adjoining office area).

Here is the general appearance of the ship:

Geography: The World of Hysle

Set in a fantasy world where the only land masses are islands. Because of this, people identify themselves by island and by the ocean that their island is in. Each ocean has their different features and qualities, being different from one another due to their climate and the fish that inhabit their waters. Because of this, each ocean has a fishing-based economy, as well as the economies listed in their descriptions below.

I've also pointed out some important information about the races of the oceans in bold so it doesn't get lost amongst the other information listed.

The North Ocean: The coldest of all the oceans, many dwarves call the North Ocean home. After all, living in the coldest area of Hysle requires a certain kind of strength, which is why it wouldn't make much sense at all to find an elf living here (If they do live in the North, it must be very close to the boundary of the East Ocean). This Ocean also houses many of the largest islands of Hysle; the three largest, Montor Island, Japara Island, and Itus Island, are all located in the North Ocean. This is due to the rocky nature of the islands: The North Ocean relies on its mineral and mining-based economy (Which is concentrated on its three largest islands) to get it food, as it's a terrible place to do any sort of farming. The Island of Aquador has the largest population of the North Ocean, and naturally it is the hub for trading in the North Ocean. Other smaller trading hubs include Vangor Island and Ross Island.

The South Ocean: One of the two warm oceans, the South Ocean is home to a variety of races. This ocean, however, contains the majority of the smallest islands of Hysle, so it has the lowest overall population of the four oceans. However, despite its small population, it has the largest economy of the oceans, relying on many economic factors such as tourism and service-based industries, as well as some farming (Mostly on Swarundis Island and Magenta Island) and some banking (Most of which is on Aria Island). Falfsa Island has the largest population, and it is one of the major trading hubs of the South Ocean, along with Fishgill Island. Solroy Island is a popular vacation destination worldwide, while most millionaires of Hysle call Jazeera Island their home, near Aria Island.

The East Ocean: The East Ocean has a mild climate, and as such many elves call it their home. The islands of the East Ocean are filled with forests, and the elves use that to their benefit, making forestry a main component of their economy, especially the islands of Nemus, Skarboro, and Zeme. However, forestry is also a downfall to the Elves: Because they are physically the weakest of all the races, they have to hire workers of other races, typically from the other oceans, to do much of the work for them. As such, since this economy isn't very profitable, they tried to make their way into other industries. Recently, the banking industry, the medical industry, and the manufacturing industry have gained popularity. Etrias Island, near the border to the South Ocean, is the hub of banking, while Atlyra Island, in the center of the East Ocean, is the center of the medical industry, and the manufacturing industry takes place on Celenias Island, close to the North Ocean border. Celenias Island has the largest population of the East, followed by the Island of Antia.

The West Ocean: The second warm-water ocean, the West Ocean, is where the majority of Humans live. It is the hub of agriculture of Hysle, most farming and any sort of ranching are done on its islands. It also has a decent-sized manufacturing industry, and a growing Medical industry, yet both pale in comparison to the manufacturing done in the East Ocean. The population of the West Ocean is generally well-spread-out throughout its islands, yet it does have the largest population on the Blazon Triad: Three islands which are relatively close to one another, Arcas Island, Ibova Island, and Oranica Island. These three islands are also the base of its manufacturing industry, while it's small Medical industry is on Bolatrium Island, deep in the West Ocean. The islands of Ursa, Agria, and Celdova produce a good majority of the West Ocean's agriculture industry, which are then sent to Scotona Island, near the North Ocean border, for trade with the rest of the world.

Races of Hysle

Human: The most well-balanced of all the races. They can live for about 100 years.

Elf: Weaker than humans physically and have less stamina, yet faster and more agile. Generally are more intelligent than humans. They have pointed ears, and are typically thin and as tall or taller than humans. They can live for about 250 years.

Dwarf: Sturdier than humans and have an abundance of physical strength, but slower. Generally are less intelligent than humans. They are shorter than humans and typically are hairier and bulkier. They can live for about 120 years.

Mage: Just as balanced as humans and have appearances similar to them, but they can control elemental magic. Thousands of years ago, they were exiled by the other races, afraid of them because of their power. Now less than a hundred are estimated to be alive, if any are still living.

There are no "hybrid" races, humans can only have children with other humans, elves can only have children with other elves, etc.

Rules

- Obvious one first, no power-abusing or god-modding. Don't have your character take total authority when he/she is merely a sailor, etc.
- Do not control other player's characters unless you have their permission.
- Don't join the RP if you're only going to do just that; or rather, join and never make a post.
- If you won’t be able to post for an extended amount of time, then please PM me, make a post in the RP, or make a post in Gendou RPer’s United saying so.
- In the same manner, if you don't post in the RP for awhile (And I never hear from you about an absence from the RP, whether its in Gendou RPer's United or in a PM), then you'll be hearing from me. If I don't get a response from you, then your character's getting the axe and we'll assume they either left the crew/died.
- Script or novel style post, it doesn't matter. Just make sure others can understand what's going on. Please don’t make your posts in first person point of view (Unless it's in an OOC or something), and also make sure posts are interesting and well written. Think about quality of post, not quantity; I'd rather see a short but good post rather than a long post that rambles on about nothing (However, please try to avoid one-liners if possible. If you really can't, then just try to retell what events occurred since your last post from your character's point of view and then add whatever new post material you wish to add).
- Be creative! With profiles, I don't want to see a profile that was copied and pasted from some article on an anime character. Using a picture of the character as a reference is fine, but I don't want the character to have the exact same name, personality, and bio as the character.
- Speaking of profiles, follow what I've written for the races: No mages. As I said there, they are included because mages will play a somewhat important role in the RP later, but no one can have one as a character.
- Love and violence are allowed, just keep it PG-13 (I won't enforce this too strictly, however, just don't do something reckless, such as using strong language or going into detail. Leave the details to the reader's imagination if need-be).
- Your character is not invincible. They cannot go into a battle and win without putting up any sort of effort. Other people can hurt your character too, so don't make your character look all-powerful.
- In case you're wondering, this RP will be using absolute time, and will frequently skip over the "more boring" traveling sections to get into some action (Since our characters will be traveling heavily in the RP). Despite this, I will always try to put up an appropriate timeframe for the travel, so this traveling will never occur "overnight." I just ask that you follow this appropriate timeframe.
- If you have to drop the RP, please PM me!
- Any questions about the RP-ing in general? There's a nice guide here that sums things up.
- Any questions or ideas about the RP in particular? Just PM me, post here, or post in Gendou RPer’s United.
- Now that the RP has started, please PM me if you want to join the RP.
- Have fun!

Roles

Captain - Ruby Flintlock (Toyumi)
Quarter Master - Cain Torreador (Haseo)

The Captain and the Quarter Master are the center of a ship. Both share ultimate authority except during combat, where the Captain alone has ultimate authority. If the two disagree on an important decision, then they must work together to come to a joint, final decision. Otherwise, whatever they say is supreme on the ship.

Master Navigator (In charge of setting the ship's course and piloting it) - Alannah Vantas (Toyumi)
Boatswain (In charge of the maintenance of the ship) - Luna Sadie (Jon)
Carpenter (In charge of fixing the ship) - Cyrus Forgebreaker (Fenris)
Doctor (In charge of keeping the crew healthy, doubles as a Surgeon when need-be) - Asa Sterling (Jon)
Master Blacksmith (In charge of creating/repairing swords, etc. as well as cannons/ballista's) - Cyrus Forgebreaker (Fenris)

These 5 positions are the head of their position on the ship. They are each vital to the ship's survival, and the only ones that can override what they say are the Captain and/or the Quarter Master.

Master Navigator Mate - Rafael Bucker (Haseo)
Boatswain Mate - Open
Carpenter Mate - Yamatora Valentine (Snake)
Doctor Mate - Alize Hozuri (Tem)
Master Blacksmith Mate - Garrosh Bladefury (LD!)

The Mates are apprentices to each of the positions listed above. Only members of Gendou RPer's United can be Mates.

Sailor - Lanver Duskmoon (LD!)
Sailor - Arthur Jansen (Emiya)
Sailor - Kishi Mamoru (Massacre Town)
Sailor - Florecia (Massacre Town)

A Sailor is any able-bodied person who can take orders and do the basics of any job, however simple or odd. There can be an almost infinite amount of sailors on the ship, so this position will always be open for anyone who wishes to join the RP.

Servant - Milo Scory (Toyumi)
Servant - Yukine (Massacre Town)
Servant -

Servants do the cooking and a majority of the cleaning on the ship. Like sailors, they will do odd jobs around the ship; but unlike sailors, they cannot be involved in combat. The number of servants is set for now, although I may open up more spots depending on how popular the RP is.

My characters:

- Name: Ruby Flintlock
- Age: 24
- Gender: Female
- Race: Human
- Location: ??? (See Bio)
- Role: Captain
- Personality: Confident and bold, as well as caring towards the members of her crew. A great strategizer in both combat and the ways of the sea, having past experience from her father's ship.
- Bio: Well acquainted with the ways of the sea, Ruby has always called the waters her home. She was born on her father's ship, The Thunder of the Sea, with her father, David (Known as the Slick Serpent), being its captain and her mother, Stella, as the Doctor of the ship. Ruby was trained well in both roles, as well as her younger brother, Caspian, unsure of which she would take until she was 18, when she decided that she wanted to be the captain of a ship. However, she wanted it to be her own ship, and not her father's ship. As such, she only helped her father with his duties, waiting for the opportunity for when she could get her own ship. When Mr. G approached her about his offer, separately from the others since she would be the captain and it would be her ship to own and name, Ruby took the offer. The name of her ship is Eternity's Ruin.
- Other notes: As much as she admires and loves her father, it is her personal goal to beat him, to be a better pirate and captain than he ever was.
- Appearance:

* Minus the gun in her hand, for obvious reasons.

- Name: Alannah Vantas
- Age: 35 (Appears younger because she is an Elf)
- Gender: Female
- Race: Elf
- Location: Celenias Island, East Ocean
- Role: Master Navigator
- Personality: Alannah is a highly intelligent elf, yet she rarely shows this side of her to others. At times, she lets her anger take the best of her, and she isn't the best team player, but despite this she will always try her best to make things work out.
- Bio: The former navigator of a top-notch manufacturing and merchant partnership since she was 18, Alannah knows the seas and their industries inside and out. Her family, being a small merchant family, often traveled from location to location and set up shop there, depending on which economy was the best, until her father died when she was 16. At this, Alannah and her older sister, Morgan, were forced to go out in the working world to help support each other and their mother. They sold their family boat, much to Alannah's protest, and settled down on Atlyra Island. Alannah, however, desired for more of the seas, and as such, she moved to Celenias Island to find a job that allowed her to be on the seas. After a full year of searching, she finally obtained a job as a Navigator's apprentice. A year later, when she was 18, she was bought out by a manufacturing and a merchant partnership (Or rather, a company) who heard of her skill, and was their chief Navigator; that is, until she heard of and accepted Mr. G's offer.
- Appearance:

* Minus the horn-like things on her head.

- Name: Milo Scory
- Age: 25
- Gender: Male
- Race: Human
- Location: Falfsa Island, South Ocean
- Role: Servant (Cook)
- Personality: An introvert, Milo is quiet and often keeps his thoughts to himself. However, that does not mean he isn't friendly, as he's willing to greet everyone on the ship, even those he might dislike, with a smile.
- Bio: A simple trade yard worker on Falfsa Island, Milo often struggled to get by on his meager wages. Of course, it was of his own doing, he never complained about it or informed his employer about the low wages, so he was stuck with them. Despite all of this, he was content with his job; however, this all changed when he received a letter about hearing a proposition from a man who refused to name himself in his letter, as well as a ticket to the Western Island where he would gather everyone involved in on this proposition of his in a week's time. Milo was promised a better job, as well as decent shelter, and so he set off to hear his proposition. He was assigned to be a servant of the ship; more specifically, the cook.
- Appearance:

*His hair is black, as pictured, but his eyes are blue.

- Name: Cyrus Forgebreaker "The Madsmith"
- Age: 87
- Gender: Male
- Race: Dwarf
- Location: North Ocean, Starforge Stronghold
- Role: Master Blacksmith/Carpenter

- Personality: Cyrus is a rather mirthful fellow, who enjoys the company of others, even if others don't necessarily enjoy his company. He appears to be a bit of a goof, but he is one of the most reliable people you'll ever meet.

- Bio: Cyrus was always interested in blacksmithing and showed great talent in it even at a young age. He had become a proficient blacksmith before age of 20 and he also had acquired various other skills. He left his home on his 20th birthday and has sailed on most of the seas in the world and visited most of the major islands. No one is sure at what point he got the nickname "The Madsmith", but everyone agrees that it is rather fitting. He is always experimenting with metals and while most of his experiments don't yield proper results he doesn't seem to mind.

- Other notes: He carries around a lantern filled with Ghost Oil, a result of one of his experiments. It gives the same amount of light as ordinary lamp oil, but the light is orange and doesn't burn as hot as ordinary oil. He also carries with him a vial or two of greek fire.

Decades of smithing have granted him almost inhuman strength and stamina, even amongst dwarves he is considered to be exceptionally strong.

The only times he left Ursa Island were to make small study trips to other close islands and read the documents of the world to further his knowledge. It's Rafael's dream to become a cartographer and eventually piece together a map of the entire world. Although, due to his family being agrarian, the money wasn't relatively available for him follow his dream. That is, before Mr. G's proposal.

Despite being an expert banker he utterly despises numbers which makes for funny scenes when he is forced to help with budget management. He is also an expert trader able to spot good deals and fakes a mile away. He gets along well with the other mates and treats the rest of the crew with respect. However, he does on occasion enjoy playing a prank to liven things up. He utterly hates hot drinks and prefers things ice cool.

Bio: Born on Aria Island to a business family, Jolly was often seen as the black sheep of the family. His father was a respected banker and his mother head of the traders guild on the island however Jolly never felt inclined to follow in their footsteps. He would often be seen helping out in the market and generally working with his hands.

Picking up several skills from his years in the markets, Jolly also learned banking from his father who hoped to see him join in his footsteps. When Jolly was 17 and it was time to choose a job, he chose to follow in neither of his parents footsteps. In the row that insured, Jolly left home and was disowned by his father. Through his life, he traveled the world making his own fame as a jack of all trades and earning plenty of his own money the hard way. As a result, he is the man to go to when needing something. His contact in each part of the world both legal and non are legendary.

During one of his trips to the East Ocean, he met an elf named Aleria. After an adventure they traveled together for many years now eventually becoming lovers. The both of them are quite content despite that fact that they can never have children together.

When Mr. G came to him and delivered the offer to the crew, Jolly was reluctant to accept. However, Mr. G informed him that there was a possibility of encountering a mage who might have the power to help him. Jolly then accepted and became the boatswain mate. The changes were not too noticeable until she was almost 8 years old. Soon it was quite visible that her body was just a bit more durable then an average elf. She had more stamina, did not bruise as easily, healed slightly faster, and could lift a bit more that those her age.

As she grew older, even Aleria noticed that something was slightly different about herself. Eventually, she joined the ranger corps who acted as the default police for the east ocean islands. Due to Herr unnatural body composition, she quickly outshinned the others in her teams and became a Captain at a young age. However due to this, she was called freak and considered strange by other elves. Forced into a life of slight loneliness, she began to work alone on her missions and patrols.

One day, she was caught off guard and captured by several human brigands. They planned to have their way with he when she was rescued by a passing traveler named Jolly. After an incident on the island involving them, she confronted her mother who revealed what she did to Aleria when young. The result was Aleria and her mother having a falling out and she choosing to follow Jolly on his travels.

Eventually, she fell in love with him and they became lovers. However, she always felt slightly insecure she could never have a child with him. Eventhrough he never said a word, she still felt some shame as a woman. When Mr. G arrived with his proposal, including the possibility of meeting a mage, she encouraged Jolly to accept the offer.

Other notes: Eventhrough she and her mother have a falling out, she still sends letters to her father who she has no problems with. She has a younger brother and sister who are twins. Her main weapon is a bow and arrows. Her normal bow is a gift from her father called Sheerpoint. When she dons her ranger clothes, she uses her other bow, Last Whisper which posses a bonus armour penetration against ALL types of armour.

Her alternate/ranger costume, ignore the hair.

Reserving for a spot as a Sailor plus a side character.

I think I'll go with the main character for now. Let me know if it needs fixing.

Character Sheet

Name: Arthur Jansen
Age: 40
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Location: Scotona Island, West Ocean.
Role: Sailor

Personality: Arthur is not an extrovert, but not completely quiet either. He is the kind of person who does not readily starts or joins a conversation, unless he is interested in the particular topic that is being discussed, or has questions to ask. If you talk to him however, he will respond to you politely. Arthur is more like an observer. Aside from his drinking habits, he tends to get things done.

Bio

A native islander of the Scotona Island, Arthur leads a normal life with his merchant parents. Being the eldest sibling of three, he always helped out his parents in their trades and travels. With that, Arthur frequently visits the North Ocean island clusters, while his two younger siblings were taken cared by hired maids. By the time he reached 18, Arthur decided to be a sailor, specifically as a part of marine patrol squads to deter pirates.

His parents was proud of his decision, and supported him. Arthur had a smooth life working as a marine soldier and a promised promotion, until he was framed for mutiny. He was immediately discharged from the military afterwards. Unable to accept his fall of grace, Arthur moved to the South Ocean and started drinking. To sustain himself, he began to work as a muscle-for-hire for the last five years.

His family sent letters, but he did not reply. Everything started to change when Arthur received the recruitment letter from Mr. G. He sees it as a chance to rise up, but he did not expect that he has to be a pirate first...

Other notes: Arthur spends most of his time in a bar, enjoying his alcoholic beverages and the occasional views of bar fights before he received Mr. G's offer. Arthur is a skilled unarmed fighter, though he has some experiences in swordsmanship and fencing too.

Gonna Dorf it up as the Master Blacksmith's mate.

Name: Urist Gordansson
- Age: 76
- Gender: Male
- Race: DORF-- er, I mean, Dwarf
- Location: North Ocean, the dwarven fortress of Rockwhispers, Ross Island
- Role: Master Carpenter's mate: Blacksmith and siege engineer

- Personality: Urist is a naturally gregarious and calm fellow, with an even temper and a habit of laughing at even the corniest jokes. However, he tends to have strange moods where he fervently sketches plans for strange devices and weapons. Almost none of them have ever been made, though Urist hopes to make at least one of these pointless doomsday devices some day, particularly the one labeled "Project: F*** the World".

- Bio: Urist was born and raised on Rockwhispers, an island fortress that serves as part of the massive Seawall that defends Ross Island. As a child, his parents noticed he had a natural knack for shaping metal and designing machinery and shipped him off to the mainland to learn from the best smiths and engineers, and to learn how to fight with axe and shield.

When he returned home after fifteen years of schooling, he was immediately set to work on the defensive armaments of the Seawall. For nearly fifty years he helped build up and improve the arsenal of the Wall, until he received a letter from a mysterious sponsor who wanted him for a job. Apparently the noble in charge of Rockwhispers had been informed of this and gave Urist money and supplies for his journey.

- Other notes:
> Holds a deep animosity towards elephants. Likes cheese for some unfathomable reason.
> Carries an ax and a master-work crossbow.
- Appearance:

(Image taken from Dwarf Fortress Wiki's entry on "Dwarf")

Yes, I am playing a Dwarf Fortress dwarf. Expect lots of Fun and magma.

Part of the New Breed of Gendou RPers: Haseo, Fenris, Roxas, Zero, Toyumi and Kyosuke.

Most of the profiles are looking good, there are just a few things I would like to point out. If I don't comment on your profile in particular then it's good to go.

@ LD!- For your first character's location, wouldn't you mean Itus Island and not Celenias Island since that's what it says in your profile? (Unless your character is originally from Celenias Island prior to that?) Otherwise, everything is looking good.

@ Roxas- I'll respond to your PM in a bit, I'll include whatever I found wrong with your profile in it as well (Since there seems to be a bit of a misunderstanding about the mages >>).

@ Icarael- The Master Blacksmith's Mate role was already taken by LD! a few posts before you. If you want, I'll reserve the Carpenter Mate's role for you, since the Carpenter Mate would be working under the same person who is both the Master Blacksmith and the Carpenter.

@Toyumi yes, my first char was born in Celenias and moved to Itus at some point on his bio

Sorry for taking so long. My schedule has been kind of packed lately. I'll do what I can to have the bio and such finished up as soon as I can.

Name: Asa Sterling

- Age: 40

- Gender: Male

- Race: Elf

- Location: Eastern Ocean - Celenias Island

- Role: Doctor/Surgeon

- Personality: Asa is a methodical person, going so far as to essentially plan out the years of his life to various pursuits such as gaining medical knowledge before moving on to social and romantic aspects of his life. He has a tendency to go to extreme lengths in order to achieve his objective, or sometimes merely to prove his point. This can make him appear unbalanced to some people who only rarely have contact with him. He has a habit of inspecting things which pique his interest, and usually puts every other matter on the back burner until he is finished.

- Bio: Asa has lived a rather straightforward life, focusing his time mainly on studying medical books and working on his skills as a surgeon. He does not have many friends and has no love interests to speak of due mainly to his reclusive ways. Due to Elves living for a longer period of time than the other races, he planned on devoting his early years to his pursuit of medical knowledge. Now that he has hit his 40's, he has decided to get out into the world to test his abilities, which led to him taking part in this expedition. He now considers himself knowledgeable enough to pull back on his studying in order to put more time into a social life.

- Appearance: Photobucket

Name: Luna Sadie

- Age: 26

- Gender: Female

- Race: Human

- Location: Scotona Island

- Role: Boatswain

- Personality: Luna is an eccentric and energetic woman. She isn't afraid to climb to the highest points on the ship without any form of support just to do regular maintenance checks. She can be hard to approach, especially on a romance level, due to most of her thoughts revolving around the ship she is currently aboard. Luna always carries her main tools on her hip so that she is able to make repairs or adjustments as soon as she spots something she doesn't like.

- Bio: Luna comes from a large family of mechanics and carpenters, which explains her talent with tools. She isn't as skilled as her older sisters, due largely to them having more real world experience with ships than herself. This trip is Luna's third time acting as a Boatswain aboard a ship. Both of her previous vessels proved to be too little of a challenge for her due to the fact that they did not suffer much damage during voyages. She hopes that the more dangerous nature of this trip will allow her to push her skills a bit further.

I'll add a third, servant character later, after I find a suitable picture. My first two characters are sailors, but they can take roles of carpenter and blacksmith, if needed. After I add a servant character, she'll have basic medical and first aid skills, so doctor too. As I mentioned in bio, Mamoru can man the ballista or cannon. I assume we have from one to five ballistaes/harpoons (one on ship nose, and maybe two on each side. Can be used to grapple enemy ship to go melee) and dozens of cannons, which, unlike ballista, doesn't require any aim and can be used by anyone. Florecia can be on oars, if needed.

Name: Kishi Mamoru
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Location: Aquador, North Ocean
Role: Sailor
Personality: A valorous man that has a word "protect" as his motto.
Bio: Mamoru is a former nobility. His rank as a noble, as well as the reason why he is no longer a noble are unknown. While his manners and behavior are those of a noble knight, he doesn't avoid dirty work and joined Eternity's Ruin as a mere sailor. In combat, Mamoru uses broad knight's sword and golden-colored kite shield. He can also man ballista or cannon. He is also skilled with art and can make stone, wooden or metal statue of various sizes and difficulty, given the tools.
Appearance:
Pretty much like this, but has blue eyes.

Name: Florecia
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Location: Japara, North Ocean
Role: Sailor
Personality: A hot-headed and a bit rough tomboy.
Bio: Florecia is a former single bandit. As a bandit she tried to only rob rich people, though, as she was originally just a village girl from a poor mining village that lost all its profit after mine's vein depleted. After challenging Mamoru to a duel, after mistaking him for being rich, and losing, she asked him to become her mentor. Along with him, she joined the Eternity's Ruin as a sailor. While she is a woman, her physical strength surpasses many male humans and rivaling some dwarves, which is seen from her choice of weapon. Due to her brute strength, she can do most of the work as a sailor. She can also do smithing and mining, as a former miner villager, but mining is useless on a ship, while there is already a smith more skilled than she is.
Appearance:

Name: Yukine
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Location: Aquador, North Ocean
Role: Servant
Personality: Easygoing and a bit mischievous, though hardworking.
Bio: Yukine was one of the maids from Mamoru's family and his private caretaker and a close friend. It is unknown what happened in past, but she is now travelling with him more as a family than as a servant(Which she should have no reason to be, as he can no longer pay her). She joined Eternity's Ruin as a servant, specializing in cleaning of quarters. While she is a servant, she is skilled with hand crossbows, which she learned for self-defense, and has one in her possession. Aside from that she can do basic martial arts and grapples. As a former maid, she prefers wearing maid outfit, though mostly because she likes it. She also has other useful skills learned, such as basic medical education and cooking skills.

Alright, so the profiles are still looking good. Since it seems as though almost everyone is done with them, I plan to start the RP this Wednesday, the 25th. Hopefully everyone can finish their profiles by then, but if not then you're still welcome to take your time and catch up when you can. Keep in mind that now the only roles still available are Sailors (Which will always be available for whoever wants to join the RP) and Servants (Of which there are only 2 spots left).

@ Icarael- Like I said before, even though your character will be an apprentice under the same person who is the Master Blacksmith, you will have to change your mate role to Carpenter Mate since LD! took the Master Blacksmith Mate role already. Other than that, your profile is good.

- Name: Ragual Leon aka Lion
- Age: 27
- Gender: Male
- Race: Human
- Location: South Island, Jazeera Island
- Role: Sailor
- Personality: Ragual is very outspoken and his mouth usually gets him trouble because he never knows when to shut up, but he is incredibly loyal to his comrades

- Bio: Ragual is a wealthy weapons trader though his methods were are more or less questionable in attaining those weapons. He was raised by his father in this lifestyle and then took it over when his father died. He also studied an unorthodox swordsmanship style that uses acrobatics as well as skill with the sword (similar to Prince of Persia). He got his nickname Lion from other traders as the look in Ragual's eyes looks of a predator on the hunt. When Mr. G sent an invitation, Ragual couldn't help but think it would be a great opportunity to collect rare weapons.

Alright, before we get started here, there are just a few things I want to point out.

@ Massacre Town- Nope, I already have Fenris for both the Blacksmith and Carpenter roles, so there's no need for your characters to fill those roles.

Your first character looks alright, but there are a few things I would like to point out with your second and third characters. The only problem I find with your second character is that the sword she's holding seems a bit too futuristic for the setting of the RP, but that could be changed just by finding a more fitting image of a similar (Yet not as futuristic-looking) sword or by letting the RPer's use their imagination and note that it would not be as futuristic-looking.

As for your third character, she doesn't have to have all of the combat skills you mentioned since as a servant she's forbidden from being involved in combat. It's up to you whether you want her to still have those skills, but I'm just pointing that out.

@ Icarael- Not sure if you saw my previous posts regarding your character yet, but I'll just say it once more to be on the safe side, if you want to take up a mate role then your character must have the title of Carpenter Mate and not Blacksmith Mate.

@ All- I forgot to mention this in the rules area for the RP, but to make it easier to post, I will allow people with multiple characters to just make one main post in a third person point of view with all of them rather than having to switch point of views for their posts, so long as your characters are in the same general area and your posts are still understandable. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, well, use my posts as examples since this is the format that I will be using. >>

Also, only use your first post as a sort of introductory post; the next time I post here, I'm going to move the ship's location into the South Ocean so we can start getting into the action of the RP (So basically, try not to get too caught up in something right off the bat).

With that, let's get this RP started!

The Calling of the Seas

[At Sea - Course towards the South Ocean]

Ruby stood out on deck close to the bow of the ship, leaning against it as she let the salty breeze embrace her. It was a new day, a new life for her, now not as a measly assistant, or more aptly "the daughter," on her father's ship. No, she was now the captain of a ship, her ship, Eternity's Ruin. It was a fresh start, free from any and all constraints as she led her crew on Mr. G's mysterious mission for them.

Ruby looked back towards the crew that she had called up on the deck (That is, so long as they were not needed elsewhere), noticing that she now had the majority of the crew, no, her crew assembled. With this, she smiled, and fully turned around to face them as she whistled loudly to gather their attention.

"Thank you all for coming out here," Ruby started, "Not just for coming on deck to listen to what I have to say today, but more importantly, for accepting Mr. G's request and becoming a member of Eternity's Ruin. In case you do not know or do not recognize me, since this is only our first day together as a crew, I am Ruby Flintlock, the captain of this ship. I am experienced as a pirate, I was a pirate on my father's ship, The Thunder of the Sea, prior to being approached by Mr. G about his offer. And I would not be here today fulfilling my dream of being the captain of my own ship and of my own crew if you hadn't accepted his request as well. And for that, I thank you, despite how selfish this may sound."

Ruby flashed a smile once more before continuing her little speech.

"Now, as you all know," Ruby continued, "Mr. G wants us to collect 4 rare jewels for him. Despite the fact that I'm the captain, I do not know any more than you do... That is, except for the probable location of the first jewel."

Ruby waited, letting the news sink in as she took out a newspaper article she had stored in her belt.

"Mr. G gave this to me as a clue for the location of the first jewel," Ruby said, holding it before the crowd before her so possibly those near her could see it, "It's an article of someone by the name of Roy Vernes. It says in the article, dated five years ago, that Roy Vernes is the richest man of Hysle. Located on his own private island west of Jazeera Island, which he named Vernes Island, Roy Vernes is a collector of any and all things rare and valuable, and that he is the owner of the largest jewels ever known to man. And naturally, we're going after his jewels to see if he has the one we need."

"As for how we're going to identify which jewel in particular we need, well... We'll figure that one out when the time comes." Ruby concluded.

Alannah Vantas, being the navigator, let her mouth run as soon as Ruby was done with her speech.

"Alright then," Alannah shouted, "Let's set sail for Vernes Island! Keep the course as if we were on our way to Jazeera Island, then we'll let the current take us west to Vernes Island. Let's get going!"

With that, she ran off towards the helm, not even keeping the fact that she had a mate in mind as she let the thoughts of the fastest routes to Jazeera Island consume her mind. Ruby, on the other hand, chuckled at the navigator's enthusiasm, saying nothing as she had no objections to her orders.

Milo Scory, being a servant, stood towards the back of the crowd, simply listening to Ruby Flintlock as she explained the situation and being a bystander as a female elf not too far in front of him shouted out about going setting a course to Jazeera Island then ran off. Milo simply moved out of the way as she ran past him, assuming that she was their crew's navigator.

Noticing how most of the others hurried off to help with various positions around the ship as well, Milo decided that it was time to do his job as well as he descended into the belly of the ship to prepare and cook dinner.

[At Sea - Course towards the South Ocean]

Cain leaned against the side of the ship, looking out at the blue ocean as the frothy waves lapped the ship's hull. He didn't know where or how this Mr. G had heard of him, but the position of Quarter Master seemed too ripe to pass up. Cain turned his head to see the inhabitants of the ship begin to herd above deck. He then looked to the sky, and saw his orange parrot, Piko, keeping pace with the ship from up above.

Cain felt more at home here, at sea, then anywhere else, even his own birthplace. At a young age, he was able to connect with the sea; he found it hard to describe the connection to others, but he knew just what it was in his head. Soon enough, a whistles rang out over the winds, and Cain turned his attention to Ruby, the captain and source of the whistle.

Mr. And naturally, we're going after his jewels to see if he has the one we need."

"As for how we're going to identify which jewel in particular we need, well... We'll figure that one out when the time comes." Ruby concluded.

With Ruby's speech finished, the navigator got things rolling and called out their course. It was now that Cain stepped up next to Ruby, and participated himself.

"You heard your Captain and Master Navigator!" Cain called out, as Piko swooped down and landed on his shoulder, "I want nothing less than all of your effort, you hear me!?"

With the crew in full swing, he turned to Ruby with a smile.

"It's been a while since I've been at sea," Cain said, "I've spent so much time on Solroy, I've almost forgotten what the sea life is like. I'm only a few years older than you, yet I feel like an old man in comparison. Don't let this salty, old sea-dog, get in your way now, Captain." Cain finished with a smile and a light-hearted laugh, then held out his hand to Ruby. "To fortune." They shook hands and so their adventure began.

Rafael Bucker, the Master Navigator's mate, was running to and fro', a bundle of maps and documents in his arms. He rushed up, to the helm, where Alannah Vantas was steering the ship.

"Excuse me, miss," Rafael started politely with a charming smile, setting the maps and documents down, "Is there anyway that I could possibly assist you? I am your mate at all; Rafael Bucker, the pleasure is mine."

With that, Rafael went with whatever Alannah told him, helping plot their course to Vernes Island, where the first jewel could possibly be waiting.

@Toyumi: I know, but having those skills won't hurt. Especially as in RP it's not rare for someone to leave, so having a spare is useful :) As for Florecia's sword, yeah, here she has pretty much the same-looking sword, but it's not any kind of high-tech, just a metal sword with a bit unusual shape. And, finally, about Yukine's crossbow, she won't participate in battles, but, at least, will have a chance to protect herself if all the sailors are busy.

[Eternity's Ruin deck]
Mamoru and Florecia were standing in the line and listening to captain's explanation, a bit too formal for regular sailors, but that was the only way Mamoru could act during the briefing. After Ruby finished her speech, Mamoru bowed slightly and finally relaxed. He then approached the stairs near the place where the steer was and sat down on them. Florecia remained close to him, unsure how she should act and was just staring at the water. Finally, she decided to break the silence.
Florecia: So... what should we do here?
Mamoru, who was observing the rest of the crew, shifted his attention to her now.
Mamoru: No idea. I'm not the seaman, but... I guess we don't have much to do right now. The wind will move us for now, so no need to oar. So... I guess just wait and pray for good weather.
Florecia nodded and turned her head towards the deck.
Florecia: I envy Yukine-san right now.
As she said that, Mamoru smirked.
Mamoru: Actually, right now she has nothing to do as well. She's probably reading the book inside. Oh...
As he was saying that, he noticed Yukine leaving the quarters(or how do you call the ship's inside...) and appearing on a deck.
Yukine: I was exploring the ship, actually.
Mamoru: But we've seen it already, when we boarded, no?
Yukine: Correction, I was exploring the ship, checking it for the need of cleaning.
Mamoru: Oh...
Yukine: But well, the crew just recently boarded, so there's barely any trash. Though there is a lot of dust... Probably it's been a long time since this ship was last sailing... or at least had a crew. I also did a check on supplies... And well, there are several things to do here now.
Mamoru: I would like to do some introductions, but who am I supposed to introduce myself to? Wonder if Captain will do some kind of "greetings dinner".
Yukine: Maybe...
Mamoru: Did you find something interesting?
Answering this question, Yukine slightly raised her voice, hoping this part of conversation would reach captain's ear.
Yukine: Well... food, mostly dried one. Cannon and ballista ammunition. Raw materials, probably for crafting... And an abnormal amount of booze. I suppose previous captain of this ship was an exemplar pirate.
Mamoru: I'm not really sure this ship had a previous owner. Though whoever did the supplying probably believed that was the most important item for a pirate. As for that dust... I believe this ship wasn't used for some time, docked somewhere in a port. We were given a ship for our mission, asking them to clean it first would be asking too much.

[Arthur Jansen]
[At Sea - Course towards the South Ocean]

It was a fine day on the Eternity's Ruin, and a new life for Arthur. He waited on the deck, as the Captain gathered everyone there, presumably for some sort of an announcement or speech. After the sea breeze died down, a whistle called out to the ship crew. While facing the sailors, the Captain started on her speech.

"Thank you all for coming out here," Ruby started, "Not just for coming on deck to listen to what I have to say today, but more importantly, for accepting Mr. G's request and becoming a member of Eternity's Ruin.

She then introduced herself.

"In case you do not know or do not recognize me, since this is only our first day together as a crew, I am Ruby Flintlock, the captain of this ship. I am experienced as a pirate, I was a pirate on my father's ship, The Thunder of the Sea, prior to being approached by Mr. G about his offer."

"And I would not be here today fulfilling my dream of being the captain of my own ship and of my own crew if you hadn't accepted his request as well. And for that, I thank you, despite how selfish this may sound."

Arthur once again has the same ironic feeling when he first received Mr. G's offer. The Captain smiled, before continuing on.

"Now, as you all know," Ruby continued, "Mr. G wants us to collect 4 rare jewels for him. Despite the fact that I'm the captain, I do not know any more than you do... That is, except for the probable location of the first jewel."

He felt a bit disappointed about the lack of information on the job. After taking out a newspaper article, Ruby began to mention that Roy Vernes, who is claimed as the richest man in Hysle, is an avid collector of rare and valuable jewels of many kinds. The Captain also read out from the 5-year old article that he has a private island west of Jazeera Island, named after by his own surname. Due to Vernes' wealth and collection of rare jewels, the Eternity's Ruin and her crews are going to raid the island.

"As for how we're going to identify which jewel in particular we need, well... We'll figure that one out when the time comes." Ruby concluded.

A dry smile appeared on Arthur's face.

Arthur: "Alright, let's get this over with. No point in turning back now."

Then, a female elf who stood beside Ruby, speaks up enthusiastically as soon the Captain was done with her speech.

"Alright then, let's set sail for Vernes Island! Keep the course as if we were on our way to Jazeera Island, then we'll let the current take us west to Vernes Island. Let's get going!"

Judging from her statement, this elf must be the master navigator. She rushed towards the helm in speed, as several crew members made way for her. The Quarter Master also joined in the act too.

"You heard your Captain and Master Navigator! I want nothing less than all of your effort, you hear me!?"

With that, everyone returned to their posts. Arthur is not that enthusiastic as the Master Navigator though. Since he has more knowledge on punching people than controlling how the ship sails at the sea, Arthur is one of the sailors responsible for the ship's maintenance, such as checking the ships for damage and repairing the sails, plus cleaning if the servants decided to be lazy.

While Arthur was checking out the ropes, he overheard a conversation.

"Well... food, mostly dried one. Cannon and ballista ammunition. Raw materials, probably for crafting... And an abnormal amount of booze. I suppose previous captain of this ship was an exemplar pirate."

He looked at Mamoru's group for a while and chuckled, before returning back to his maintenance work.

[At Sea - Course towards the South Ocean]

As Alize stood aboard the Eternity's Ruin she thought about the new life she had just begun. She looked around at all the other people who must have also accepted Mr. G's request. She would be living with these strangers for god knows how long. A whistle interrupted her thoughts and her eyes on the woman the noisse had come from.

"Thank you all for coming out here," the woman started, "Not just for coming on deck to listen to what I have to say today, but more importantly, for accepting Mr. G's request and becoming a member of Eternity's Ruin"

"In case you do not know or do not recognize me, since this is only our first day together as a crew, I am Ruby Flintlock, the captain of this ship. I am experienced as a pirate, I was a pirate on my father's ship, The Thunder of the Sea, prior to being approached by Mr. G about his offer." Ruby huh Alize thought. Funny since we're supposed to be finding jewels.

"And I would not be here today fulfilling my dream of being the captain of my own ship and of my own crew if you hadn't accepted his request as well. And for that, I thank you, despite how selfish this may sound." Ruby continued. "Now, as you all know," Ruby continued, "Mr. G wants us to collect 4 rare jewels for him. Despite the fact that I'm the captain, I do not know any more than you do... That is, except for the probable location of the first jewel."

At least we have a start then Alize thought.

At the mention of her birthplace Alize almost laughed. Of course there had to be rich people involved in this. Then again she was probably biased against the rich due to her hatred for her father. At least she could help with anything if they had to wander around Jazeera Island.

After Ruby had finished her speech another woman quickly spoke up "Alright then," she shouted, "Let's set sail for Vernes Island! Keep the course as if we were on our way to Jazeera Island, then we'll let the current take us west to Vernes Island. Let's get going!" I watched as she rushed towards the helm in speed, as several crew members made way for her.

Well at last it's begun Alize thought to herself. Time to find whoever the Doctor here will be considering she'll be their helping hand.

@Toyumi - I'll do a post for now, and I'll work on getting my profiles done when I get some down time.

Both Luna and Asa listened as the captain of the ship rambled on about the mission at hand and the intended course of action that they were all going to take. Asa was beginning to regret joining this crew due to the ridiculous nature of the request, but Luna didn't particularly care about any of it so long as she was getting her opportunity to be at sea. The crew began to disperse once Ruby finished talking, so Luna and Asa went their separate ways for their own reasons. Luna wanted to get straight to work out of pure excitement, but Asa preferred to get out of the ocean air and begin examining the medical facility on board to familiarize himself with it.

As soon as Ruby had finished speaking, Luna immediately held her hand across her brow to shield her eyes from the sun as she looked over the rigging.

"Looks pretty solid, but I better take a closer look just to be sure. Might as well get the hard part out of the way first by starting from the top and working down."

She checked the set of tools dangling from her hip before clapping her hands together.

"Let's do this."

Luna started climbing the main mast towards the upper rigging, leaning over periodically to check the sails for tears or holes as well as tugging on ropes to make sure everything was as it should be.

Asa let the crew thin out a little before making his way towards the stairwell. He wasn't entirely fond of being on the deck of a ship, so he made his way inside the ship to inspect the medical room.

'I'm not quite sure who my mate is, but I assume that they are reasonable enough to seek out the medical bay. I certainly hope I'm dealing with a capable assistant.'

He eventually found the medical bay in the ship and managed to get the door open. There wasn't much light to work with, so he made a note to acquire more lanterns as quickly as possible. He didn't see many tools around, but luckily he had brought the essential ones with him. He sat down in the chair behind a small desk and removed his jacket. The light shirt he had on under the jacket was more breathable, so he simply decided to rest there for the time being while checking his equipment.

'I suppose there is not much to do at the moment, unless a member of the eager crew slips up and loses an arm. I am fairly confident that that will not happen until at least 3 days from now.'
