The Branded

Plot

It is the time of rebellion. In a distant land and a distant time, one filled with suffering, the people are upset. The mages, who have been serving the humans for a little over three centuries, have started a rebellion, a revolution against the humans, a revolution for better treatment and more rights to mages. Mages had always been considered subhuman beings, born with strange powers that separated them from the norm. Thus, they have been treated like dirt for as long as they were around. No one truly knows how mages came into existence, some say it was a freak accident of nature, others say it was a punishment by the higher forces, everyone tries to put the blame for the mages on something but no one knows who or what to blame. The mages have been fed up and disgusted with their own race, for serving the humans and taking their abuse for so long with little to no reward or credit for what they have done. And now, this land is in the heat of the rebellion, one that has lasted for about six years. For some, they are getting antsy, wanting the rebellion to end, and action must be taken for it to end. Yet, which side will be victorious?

Setting

The stage is set in Capital City, which as the name implies is the capital of this realm. The revolution has been goind on throughout the land, yet the setting shall be the Capital City branch of the revoltuion. For the technology
and timeframe of this world, think Europe in the 1700’s. The capital is divided into different quarters and districts, and are color coded as seen in the map. The areas of Capital City are as such (Listed from East to West):

- Religious Quarters (Purple) - Where people go to worship, pray, and practice their religion.

- Middle Class Human Residential Quarters (Light Green) - Where most, if not all, middle class humans live.

- Low Class Human and Mage Residential Quarters (Pink) - A low class district where both low class humans and mages live. This district is know for having the most quarrels, due to the close quarters with both humans and mages, some of which are not neutral in the rebellion.

- Parks (Dark Green) - Recreation areas where humans and mages can relax. Humans are more often found in the southern park, and mages are more often found in the northern park, however mages and humans are allowed at both parks.

- Factory, Manufacturing, and Good Processing District (Teal/Blue-Green) - The factories of the Capital City are located in these areas. Low class humans and mages work in the factories, which are run by some of the high class members of society.

- Low Class Mage Residential Quarters (Orange) - This is where many low-class mages live if they do not live in mixed low-class living quarters. Unlike the low-class human quarters, the mages living in this area do not mind humans walking through it freely.

- Low Class Human Residential Quarters (Red) - Where the rest of the humans live if they do not live in mixed low-class mage and human living quarters. The humans who live in this district are usually hostile to mages, especially since they have different living quarters than them.

- Harbor District (Light Blue) - The harbor district of the city, this is where boats come and also where low class humans work. Unlike the factories, middle class members of society usually run the harbors.

- Shopping District (Brown) - Where all of the shopping is done in the Capital City. There are some cafes and restaurants located here as well.

- Government and Educational District (Dark Blue) - Where the schools, library, police office, and other governmental buildings are located. The schools are in the northern governmental areas, and the library, police office, and other governmental offices are in the southern governmental areas.

- High Class Human Residential Quarters (Yellow) - Where all of the rich, wealthy, and high class humans live. Some mages are seen here as well, but the only reason for that is that many high class families hire mages as their servants.

- Monarch Castle and Law Buildings (Dark Yellow) - This is the castle of the Monarchy, and where certain law-making buildings are located within the capital. No one is allowed inside this area unless they are important, high class members of society who have been cleared by the government, and even then they can only get inside when they have business there. The current royal family of the monarchy is the Abbott family, with King Paul Abbott and Queen Jessica Abbott, and their son, Prince Jason. They are neutral in the Rebellion, and would pass laws for mages to have more rights; however, much of the Parliament (the law-making body) is high-class. This also means that much of the Parliament is Anti-Rebellion, and most of them are against mages gaining more rights.

More About Mages

No one truly knows how mages came into existence. There were hardly any records about it, and it was more like something that "just happened." Mages can only come from mage parents or a mage mother and a human father; mages cannot come from human parents or a mage father and a humans mother, for reasons currently unknown.

One can tell the difference between a human and a mage because all mages are branded with a mark at birth. This mark is always branded on the mage’s neck, just above the right shoulder, and will become visible only after a mage’s powers have awakened (Which can happen at anytime between birth to six years old). The mark looks like this:

There is one more way to tell the difference between mages and humans. In this world, there is a mineral that will give off a reaction to the aura of mages. When a mage comes near, the mineral will turn from it’s normal clear color to yellow, orange, or red. Yellow represents a common mage or a powerful mage that is far away, orange represents powerful mages, and red represents even more powerful mages. There have been a few people who claimed that the mineral has turned to black, but this is only a mere rumor. Distance is also a factor, the mineral can only sense mages and forms of mage magic up to a radius of one block. This mineral is quite common, and is mined and made into necklaces and brooches.

The powers of mages can also be weakened or even suppressed because of silver. Mages who wear silver cannot use magic, and they cannot break or take the necklace off without human aid. It is not uncommon for wealthy humans to put a silver ring on a mage who is a servant to them. Humans who wear silver are given slight protection from magic, by either slightly weakening the effects of it or making the amount it is used shorter, depending on what type of magic it is. The only problem with silver is that it is very rare in this world. The only people who can afford to have it are the rich, high class members of society, and even then they would not have much silver.

Powers of Mages

Artistry - Mages (Who sometimes refer to themselves as 'Artists') can paint or draw on anything, even air, and make them real. They cannot paint things with a very complex inner systems (Such as animals or humans), and if they paint a living thing that does not have such a complex inner system (Such as small insects and plants), then it cannot stay alive for long (Living things can only stay alive for around 5 minutes, whereas things that are 'painted' will stay for much longer). Keep in mind that mages with this power must need some sort of utensil to write or paint with in order to use this power. Mages with this power cannot 'erase' things that are already existing; however, they can replace something that is already in existence with something else, but this takes more energy than to just create something anew. Mages can only 'draw' about 12 things a day, depending on the size and complexity of what they draw this number is less (If they draw many large things) or more (If they draw many small things). Also, mages cannot draw anything that is more than 100 pounds (45 kg).

Musicianship - Mages (Who sometimes call themselves "Musicians") can play their instrument and have living things fall under their control. They can only put humans under their control (Not other mages), and they can only have one human under their control at a time. They cannot make the person speak, and the mage putting the human under control harm it or have the human harm themselves in anyway (Having someone else harm the human under control is different, but if the mage controlling the human or if the human under the mage’s control harms the human then the control of the human is broken), and even then it is for a short amount of time (Around 5 to 10 minutes). Also, keep in mind that how long this power will last depends on the complexity of the piece played. If a mage has this power, please state in the Bio what instrument they play (Only one instrument can be mastered for this power. Also remember that this will only happen when the mage wants it to happen and has enough energy for it; it will not happen every time the mage plays the instrument).

Wildform - A mage can transform themselves to look different or transform into an animal. Animal transformations are possible, but they are much harder to maintain and thus they cannot stay as an animal for too long (The larger the animal, the harder the transformation is to maintain, meaning that they cannot stay as a large animal for too long). After a mage transforms back form being an animal, it can retain sight, smell, or hearing senses of the animal it last transformed into. These effects last until the next sunrise/sunset, or until they transform again. Also, some mages become skilled in certain kinds of transformations by using them often (Such as transforming into one kind of animal). When this happens, a mage can stay in this kind of transformation for a bit longer, however it makes other transformations harder to maintain.

Frostfire - A mage can freeze or burn things on contact. If a mage has this power, the right side will burn things on contact, and the left side will freeze things on contact. This won’t happen whenever the mage comes into contact with something, it will only happen when the power is activated (So it will happen only when the mage wants it to happen).

Hexer - A power that lets mages induce negative statuses on others. This includes paralysis (Easiest to induce), sleep (target(s) must be paralyzed before sleep, making it harder to induce), poison (Even harder to induce), memory loss (The hardest to induce, it drains a lot of magical energy and the memory must be fresh in the target's mind), or energy draining (Similar to sleep, but easier to induce. Can be magical or physical energy). The Hexer must be in close proximity to the person(s) they are using their ability on.

Enchanter - Mage that can induce positive statuses on themselves or others. This includes healing statuses (The easiest to do, can heal paralysis, sleep, or poison), healing wounds (Harder to do than healing statuses), or giving their own magical energy to others (This drains energy from the mage using it, but it gives the target more magical energy). Like the Hexer, an Enchanter must also be in close proximity to the person(s) they are using their ability on.

About the Anti-Rebellion

The Anti-Rebellion was created by Edric Blair, shortly after the Rebellion began. Edric Blair created it to prevent mage-caused violence from the Rebellion, but others joined in it as a means of preventing mages from advancing in society, and keeping humans in power. A few others joined it to become "peace-keepers," to help quiet the Rebellion and return life in the realm to it's peaceful ways before the Rebellion began.

Mostly humans are a part of the Anti-Rebellion, since it would benefit them the most, but a few mages have joined the Anti-Rebellion as well. Some of these mages have joined the Anti-Rebellion to help be "peace-keepers," but some may have joined for personal reasons.

Rules:

- Regular Gendou/Gendou City rules apply (No God-Modding, etc.). Any questions about the RP-ing rules and such, there's a nice guide here that basically sums things up.
- Be creative! With profiles, I don't want to see a profile that was copied and pasted from some article on an anime character. Using a picture of the character as a reference is fine, but I don't want the character to have the exact same name, personality, and bio as the character. Also make sure posts are interesting and well written. Think about quality of post, not quantity; I'd rather see a short but good post rather than a long post that rambles on about nothing.
- Your character is not invincible. They cannot go into a battle and win without putting up any sort of effort. Other people can hurt your character too, so don't make your character look all-powerful.
- Romance is allowed (I support it too), but please keep it PG-13.
- Violence should also stay PG-13.
- Killing is allowed, but if you want to kill another character, you must PM me and the owner of the character for permission to do so.
- No loners please! It is fine if your character is shy or quiet, but they must interact with others. It would be boring if your character just went off doing their own little thing. They wouldn't get anywhere with the plot.
- Maximum of 3 characters per player.
- No one-liner posts please! Also, do not express emotion with things like ":D". You can write it out.
- Script or novel style post, it doesn't matter. Just make sure others can understand what's going on. Also, please don’t make your posts in first person point of view (Unless it's in an OOC or something).
- This RP will be using absolute time, so I don't think time will pose too much of a problem. Just please do not go way out of line with time (For example, if someone said it was around sunrise in the post before yours, don't make it go to sunset in your post).
- If you won’t be able to post for an extended amount of time (More than 5 days), then please PM me, make a post here, or make a post in RPer’s United saying so.
- If you want to join the RP, please PM me first. This is only to catch you up on everything that has occurred in the RP so you won't be jumping in without any idea of what's going on.
- If you have to drop the RP, please PM me!
- Any questions or ideas? Just PM me, post here, or post in RPer’s United.
- Have fun!

Name: Jace "The Shadow King"

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Race: Mage

Class: Low Class

Side: Rebellion, Leader

Weapon: Twin blades

Magic: Unidentified

Location of the mark: Right shoulderblade

Personality: Jace is rather serious person who keeps himself under control in any situation. He keeps his emotions to
himself rarely showing what he is feeling on the outside.

Bio: Jace had been trained as a servant since he could speak as he was born with magic flowing through him. He received
training in a wide variety of subjects so that he could be useful in any situation. His trainers also trained him to
in swordmanship, something he excelled in, as his magical powers seemed to be non-existent at the time.

He was eventually hired at the age of 9, very young even for a mage, to an old man who was thought to be rather
eccentric. The old man paid to further Jace's training, Jace took to the training like a fish to the water, displaying
rate of learning and ability to apply his knowledge in any situation that astounded his teachers. He also continued
his swordmanship lessons with the old man's consent.

When Jace was 12 the old man passed away and he was hired by a different family that seemed content with him acting as
their butler. Soon after his magical ability finally manifested itself causing some distress to the man who had hired
him. Jace was given a silver chain that was locked around his wrist in order to inhibit his magic. He continued serving
the family until his 13th birthday... That's when something happened, something that changed Jace's life for good.

There had always been little friction between Jace and the head of the family he served. Jace's attitude wasn't as
obedient as the man had come to expect and it had caused them to have quite a few arguments in the past, Jace also
disliked how the mages seemed to be treated worse than other servants and had said so a few times. This time the
argument got really out of hand and the man ended up hitting Jace. As a result something snapped inside Jace, there was
a faint jingling sound as the silver chain around his wrest broke and dropped to the floor. In the next moment the
house burst apart, leaving only a few sections of the outer wall standing. Jace walked away from the destruction half
dazed and headed towards the city, dropping the silver chain with several broken links to the walkway before the house.

Since then Jace hasn't used his magic at all, he also started liberating and organising all the mages he could find in
order for them to have the same rights as the rest of the population. He is the most wanted man in the capital, but has
proven to be most elusive as well.

Reserve me a spot please~ <3

Name: Gabe Clemment
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Race: Mage
Class: Low Class
Side: Rebellion
Weapon: 2 hatchets
Magic: Enchanter
Personality: Gabe is very protective of his "family". His family being other mages in the rebellion. He always tries to make sure that they have everything they need. He tends to get aggravated easily, but soon calms down. He tries to be a father figure, since he never had a father himself.
Bio: Gabe's parents abandoned him as a newborn. After discovering he was a mage, they gave him up. However, it was for his own good. His parents had both been mages, and he didn't want other children to ridicule him for coming from a mage family, at least those were there intents. Gabe grew up at an orphanage, and was treated normally until he was about 6. He passed by a strange mineral that the children had found outside and it turned yellow. All the kids looked at him with disgust, as they were taught that mages were inferior and began to throw rocks at him. Gabe hadn't even known he was a mage. The mark on his shoulder had shown up that day, and even the caretakers didn't want much to do with him. They'd give him food and clothes, but that was about it. Eventually, when Gabe was 14 he ran away from the orphanage, tired of being looked down upon. He found work outside the city, cutting down trees. However, the job didn't pay much and he resulted to banditry every once in a while. He lived his life alone, until he met a group of like-minded mages like himself that wanted to make the world a better place for mages.
Appearance:

Name: Sebastian Stoll
Age: 24
Race: Mage
Class: Low Class
Side: Neutral
Weapon: Switchblade
Magic: Musician
Personality: He's a very carefree and calm person who doesn't care what people say about him. He doesn't really have a sense of humor.
Bio: Sebastian was always calm, even as a child. He had a mage mother, and a human father, so it wasn't really that bad for him when he was growing up. Hus mark showed up when he was 4, but his parents didn't tell him what he was until he was 9, so he could fully understand it. Like his mother, Sebastian took a fine interest in musical interests. His mother played the violin, so he wanted to play a similar instrument, just not without a bow. One day, his mother came home with a lute, and he loved it. He'd fill the house with music almost everyday, granted, it wasn't the best sound at first, but his dad, who was a relatively wealthy aristocrat hired a teacher for him. However, the teacher was vile. He'd make Sebastian play for hours an end, until he completely mastered the piece they were working on. One day, Sebastian snapped and used his power. He ordered the teacher to stop, and to leave. The teacher never came back, but he returned to his senses. Sebastian figured it was because the teacher figured out that he was a mage, and he wanted no association with him, which Sebastian didn't mind. By the time that the teacher had abandoned him, he had already learned close to 40 pieces of music ranging from sonatas to parts of symphonies. When Sebastian turned 19, he decided that it was time to move out. He loved his parents, and they loved him (his father was more accepting of the mages), but he felt that he didn't deserve the treatment he got and that he should be with his kind. He moved into the Lower Class Mage district and has been living there ever since, playing his magic for all to here. He stands Neutral in the conflict with the Mages and the Humans, but he has does aide the mages every once in a while. Gabe Clemment likes to refer to Sebastian as a long lost cousin of the family, since they've been friends every since Sebastian moved into the district.
Appearance:

Name: William Clemmentine
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Race: Human
Class: High Class
Side: Anti-Rebellion
Weapon: Spear
Personality: William is a very radical and condescending young man. He believes that all Mages are indeed trash, and that they have too many rights as it is. He's fairly analytical and has a high and mighty air about him, especially around mages.
Bio: William was born into a family of aristocrats. His father had a high chair in government, but his mother didn't have anything to do with government, she came from a renowned family. He was raised his whole life with the notion that Mages were trash and should be treated like it as well. His father always seemed kept and reserved when it came to Mages, and he often criticized his father for being too generous and nice. William came to the conclusion that his father had been hiding something. William did some research on his father, and discovered that he had been married to a mage and bore a child with her. William sought her out, but on the night he found her, she was murdered. He stood by and watched her get mugged and murdered while she called out for her to help her; all the while, a smile on his face. It's undetermined whether he set up her murder or not, but evidence leans away from it. He bears an uncanny resemblance in both appearance and last name to Gabe, and has been sent to the city to become an Aristocrat under Sebastian Stoll's father. He doesn't know the Sebastian is a mage, and often makes harsh remarks about mages when he's around.

Reserving one Rebellion spot~
Also taking one Anti-Rebellion, but before that, can I ask what does the Anti-Rebellion do other than the obvious ones. There was nothing explained about the Anti-Rebellions in the first post.

I thought Anti-Rebellions are humans only since, "anti". o_o Oh another question. Does putting "unidentified" on the Magic mean my character doesn't have one, or does it mean my character have an unlisted magic? A few questions to help with my character profiles.

Name: Aruka Schild
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Race: Mage
Class: Low Class
Side: Rebellion

Weapon: None. Hand to hand combat expert.
Magic: Unidentified.

Personality: Quite kind, enjoys helping others. She is well liked by almost everyone of the rebellion. However, for some strange reason she is not trusted by Jace. She is protective of her younger brother

Bio: Aruka was born into a life of strife. Her parents were mages whom both eventually passed away when she was young leaving her to take care of her younger bother, Cruz.

She joined the rebellion to help change her fate and to help others like her. She often worries about Cruz as he is commonly harassed by the less then happy members of the rebellion. Although she has worked her way up to being well respected, she is not trusted by Jace whom is the leader. Aruka has many secrets and several skeletons in her closet that not even Cruz is aware of...

Appearance:

Name: Cruz Schild
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Race: Mage
Class: Low Class
Side: Rebellion
Weapon: None.
Magic: Unidentified.

Personality: He is very attached to his older sister. He is superbly intelligent and observant but he is also known for being the but of jokes and more or less gets bullied by others a lot but he does have some courage deep down.

Bio: A young boy whose older sister Aruka is a member of the rebellion. He is a bit of a wimp, but has a certain strength to him. He was very attached to Aruka and speaks to her in his thoughts as well as carrying around a pendent with her picture. He is often used as a sort of gopher by the other team members of the rebellion. Even though he seems powerless, his intelligence makes up for it.

He is often bullied by the other members. Cruz's powers are currently unidentified. This is because when he was younger, he had been separated from Aruka at one point. During that time, he was caught and trapped in a slave market awaiting to be sold. At one point, one of the female slaves whom befriended him was taken and raped in front of him. It is unknown what exactly happened at this point, but when Aruka arrived to save him about a day later she found the camp completely destroyed and strangely the presence of a lot of water in the area.

From that point, Aruka discovered that Cruz had instinctively suppressed the memories of the incident along with the knowledge to use his magic. As such, Cruz considers himself to be human despite the presence of his mage tattoo.

Appearance:

Name: Malvinder Leonheart
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Race: Human
Class: High Class
Side: Anti-Rebellion

Weapon: Twin katanas, both are laced with silver.
Magic: None.

Personality: He may look like a cold and cruel person, however this is not the case. He is a very quiet, intelligent individual. He never speaks when unnecessary and he always thinks before he acts. He seems to be unemotional most of the time, earning him the nickname of "that gloomy jerk" from his assistant. His intelligence and analytical skills are also well-honed allowing him to notice minute details in things. He does not treat mages badly and often pities them.

Bio: The oldest child and only son of the semi-royal Leonheart family. The Leonheart family is a direct branch of the Abbot family which is the royal family. Malvin, as he prefers to be called by his associates inherited the title of head of his house when both of his parents were killed in a mysterious accident 2 years ago.

He is regarded as quite possibly the most influential person amongst the High Class members of society due to being the closest to royalty. He owns many shops and business through the city both directly and indirectly. Having heard of the recent issues, he has been forced to take part in the anti-rebellion by the monarchy.

He has two younger sisters that are under his care: Sapphire and Eveline. is twin katana's: Akatsuki and Mayonaka are laced with pure silver and are EXTREMELY valuable making them family artifacts.

Malvin's home boast a few mages as his servants whom are treated very well. He does not discriminate them from normal humans and pays them appropriately (despite protests from humans) and he does not mind if they work without wearing silver.

Malvin is a master swordsman skilled in fighting with two blades. Few are those who exist that can even match him is speed and power. He is also an excellent hand to hand fighter.

@ All- First of all, thanks for joining! If I don't comment about your profile, that means it's okay. I plan on starting this in about a week, on the 8th or the 9th.

Also, I'm not closing up the cast for Rebellion or Anti-Rebellion, but I would like it if some more people joined the Anti-Rebellion, or made another character for the Anti-Rebellion if they don't have 3 characters already (Since only my characters and Jon's characters are in the Anti-Rebellion right now).

@ Zero- Please change your first character's alignment to either Rebellion or Anti-Rebellion. Kenji's second character took the last Neutral spot, and the spots available for Neutral were a first come, first served sort of thing.

@ Aoi- The Anti-Rebellion basically fights against the Rebellion, and wants mages to stay at their current place in society (Being low class workers or servants to higher class families). They want humans to stay in power. Mages could be a part of the Anti-Rebellion too, it really just depends on their circumstances and why they would want to stay in their current position (Although humans would be more common in the Anti-Rebellion).

And Unidentified means that the mage does have a power that's on the list (Or has been given the okay by me), but others don't know what it is. I'll add that to the first post too, so everyone's clear about that.

@ Roxas- With your first character, there aren't any "3rd in command" type of people for either side. There is only a leader for both sides, and that's it. Also, unless you went over this with Fenris already, you can't have your character start off with having his character dislike yours.

With your second character, if both of his parents are mages and if he has a sister that is a mage, then he cannot be human. Like I said in the More about Mages section, mages can only come from having both mage parents, or a mage mother and a human father. Also, I don't think that he would be the only human on the Rebellion side, there could be others too.

And with your third character, you would have to change his alignment to either Rebellion or Anti-Rebellion. Like I said to Zero, the spots for Neutral are full already, and I'm not opening up any more right now. But the thing that is more of a concern to me is your third character's weapon. You cannot have two entire Katanas made entirely of silver. Like I said in the More about Mages section, silver is very rare in this world, and even the richest of families could only afford to have a few pieces of jewelry made with it. Also, having silver in any form of a weapon is a poor weapon choice, steel is much harder than it and would easily cut through it. Silver has the same hardness as a fingernail, and even a copper penny could dent silver. Also, you can't just make up a royal family for the RP unless it was stated by me somewhere (Although I'll add a royal family to the RP now).

He hopes that one day he could find a reason for his existence and that the rebellion could help him find it. He not much of a fighter but if he sees reason to do so, he wont back down until death. Alright, I completed my character sheets.

@Roxas - Like Toyumi said, silver is essentially useless as a material for weapons. Steel and iron are much better.

@Toyumi - I didn't really know that that is what the Anti-Rebellion characters wanted when I was creating my characters. I will still stay on that side though, I will find a way to sidestep the obvious issue.

Gender: Male
Race: Human
Class: High Class
Side: Anti-rebellion
Weapon: Composite Longbow
Personality: Arrogant, Proud, and Naive. Doesn't dislike mages, just thinks that anyone of a lower class should know their place.

Bio: Oldest child of the Bell family, and groomed to be the successor. He was taught everything he needed to know in order to take over the family and be a perfect noble while doing so. Because of the rebellion, Geoffery's parent confined him to their estate for protection. Because of his inability to move around he became good friends with his servant, Lukas.

Appearance:

Name: Lukas Kunze
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Race: Mage
Class: Low class
Side: Anti-Rebellion
Weapon: None
Magic: Unknown (only Geoffery knows)
Personality: Patient, calm, and thoughtful. Wants mages to have more freedom, but wants to protect his naive best friend more.

Bio: As a servant of the Bell family for as long as he can remember, and the same age as their oldest son, Lukas has become the servant to Geoffery. Because of this, the two grew close, and even though Geoffery is usually so concious of what class the other person is, the two became friends. As Geofferys insistance, Lukas joined the anti-rebellion to assist against the mages.

@ All- Since there has been some confusion about the Anti-Rebellion, I've added an About the Anti-Rebellion section to the first post. I've also edited the Monarch Castle and Law Buildings of the Setting section to explain more about the monarchy, the reigning monarch family, and the lawmakers as well.

Also, since there's been a lot of interest in this RP and almost everyone has their character profile(s) completed, I plan on starting it on the 7th. Just make sure that your profiles are completed by then.

@ Drake- I just noticed this, but there's a small typo in the magic section of your first character. It says Enhancer when it should be Enchanter.

@Toyumi: Hey, if you're still looking for players, I'd like to reserve two places in the Anti-Rebellion and one in the Rebellion. Thanks!

EDIT: Okay. I've finished the first one. The other two should be along shortly; I don't think starting the RPG today without them will have any real effect. I'll try to finish them as soon as possible, though.

--------------------------------------------

:RORIN Mariner:

[Male]
[Seventeen]
[Mage]
[Low Class]
[Rebellion]
[A small dagger]
[Musicianship]
[While Rorin is quiet and not out-spoken, he is neither shy nor anti-social. Fourteen years of servitude can do that to someone. He is very polite, no matter the class, the race, or the quality of appearance. He believes in equality, which is why he joined the Rebellion after escaping his house of employement, the Archer's. He knows that the Humans mistreat the Mages, and all he wants is for the Mages to be recognized as intelligent, capable beings, to have the same privledges and respect as those who were lucky enough to be born into a body that was not deviated. He knows that many Mages are disgusted with what they are, but he believes that what they've been given is not a curse, but a beautiful blessing. He believes — and encourages others to believe as well — that they should use their powers to help one another, Human and Mage alike. He believes that the Humans will see the error of their ways if the Mages could just find a way to show them that they're not bad people. People say that Rorin is overly optomistic, that he could waste his brightness and his energy on something more useful. Others applaud his ideals and his way of thinking. Though, he's only ever told a few friends and the woman at the bakery where he works part-time.]

[Born into a life of slavery, Rorin Mariner was originally from another city, but was moved into Capital City with the Archers when they expanded their business. The Mariners had worked for the Archers, contracted to them for a span of twenty generations; Rorin was a child to celebrate — his birth marked the half-way point. Though the Mariner family had once been made up extensively of Mages, his father — Xanda Mariner — was a Human, his mother — Luciena Taranger — a Mage, part of the reason he believes that Humans and Mages can see past their differences. However, his mother was sold to another family shortly before the move, when he was six, the same year he discovered that he was able to control people through the music he played on his Ocarina. When he realized what he could do, he was eager to show off to his fellow servants, though he made the mistake of being caught by the eldest son of the Archer family, Magnus, who frequently used Rorin at small gatherings with his friends as entertainment. Not only was he talented with his Ocarina, but he was able to control Magnus' friends and make them do humiliating things, whether they were sober or inebriated, and more often than not it was the latter. Rorin drew the line at making them hurt themselves, though Magnus was insistant. He would push him and threaten until Rorin complied, but they both began to notice that it broke the control, so Magnus backed off and asked only for harmless, humiliating stunts. This was a huge relief to Rorin; though it was absolutely heartless, it was still kind of funny watching an aristocrat dance around like he was covered in spiders.

At the age of fourteen, Rorin finally gave up. His father had been sold long ago, he no longer had his mother, and the Human slaves were beginning to treat him badly just because of what he was. He tried to explain his ideas, but no one listened. He knew what he had to do. Late one night, he slipped between the bars in the kitchen that lead into an alley, and out onto the street. He headed straight for the Low Class Residential Quarters across the river, where he knew he could be in a place where Humans and Mages frequently coencided, and where he could be as far as possible from the Archers. However, he didn't count on the daily fights, the violence, theivery, and overall negativity that went on there. He had been attacked three or four times with no way to defend himself before he finally bought himself a dagger with the money he earned working part time at both the Bakery that he frequents on shopping days and a factory that isn't far from his home, which processes and cuts minerals to be used in jewelry — because he is a Mage, he works with the special mineral that glows whenever a Mage comes near it. This is so that the Humans that work in his station with him know exactly what he is.]

--------------------------------------------

:LAELA Archer:

[Female]
[Eighteen]
[Human]
[High Class]
[Anti-Rebellion]
[Extensible steel rod]
[An upbeat, happy girl, Laela Archer is an actress by nature, theatric in almost everything she says and does. She's perky and dramatic, though her brother and friends find her a little over-dramatic. She's a determined and strong-minded young lady with a good head on her shoulders, and about a million different reasons why she hates Mages. Not all of them are plausible reasons, but some are, and she will argue with anyone who thinks otherwise. Raised to believe that Mages are the dirt she walks on, she is very strict with the Mages she keeps as servants, and ever since one of her personal servants, Rorin Mariner, escaped, she has ordered that any Mages who serve her directly must never be allowed outside without supervision.]

[Laela grew up in a home with a rich and powerful father, and a young, beautiful mother — the younger sister to a handsome and respectable older brother. She was brought up in a household that employed mostly Mages with a few Humans, and was always taught that Mages weren't even worth their time, but that the Archer family was being kind to them by employing them in their home. To work for the Archers was a privledge. When she was younger, she didn't understand the difference, even if that was what her parents and brother told her, and she often played with Rorin, who was a year younger than her. However, when she was seven, Rorin showed her something he had learned how to do with his Ocarina. He brought her to the kitchen and proceded to play for her, watching one of the other maids slice him a piece of cake, and hand it to him. It lasted less than a minute before the maid seemed to regain control of her body and scolded him for using his powers in such a way. From then on Laela began to understand that Mages were monsters among Humans, and her treatment of her servants — especially the boy who had once been quite close with her — began to change dramatically for the worse. She can't say exactly when it turned into burning loathing, but she would guess around either the time that Rorin ran away, or when one of the servants poisoned her father with his powers and ended up killing him.]

--------------------------------------------

:MAGNUS Archer:

[Male]
[Twenty-five]
[Human]
[High Class]
[Anti-Rebellion]
[He has a crossbow called Silent Requiem that used to be his father's.]
[Magnus is a very stern man, uptight and unfeeling. He's seen as cold and callous, though his mother says that he's just like his father. She knows that the icy exterior is only a ruse to earn respect in the business world, especially since the Archers haven't lived in Capitol City for long. Around his family — his dearest youger sister, Laela, especially — Magnus is gentler, softer almost. He drops the cool facade and is able to smile, at least. Dispite the way he acts, he enjoys social gatherings, and invites his friends and fellow Anti-Rebellionists into his home for soirées. When he was younger, he used to drink a little more than just socially, and would abuse the powers of his servants in his inebriated state. Out of the home, he owns the largest mineral-processing factory in the land. He makes a point of hiring mostly Mage workers, and paying them less then half what they deserve. His distate for Mages was high enough to begin with, but it doubled when his father was killed by one of them.]

[Magnus is the oldest child of the Archer family, born the heir to a great fortune and a chain of factories that processed minerals. He had always been told that he would inherit this greatness, even when he decided that he'd rather become a lawyer in the courts in Capital City. Brought up in a household that employed mostly Mages, Magnus never had a fondness for them. In fact, he despised their in humanity — their abnormal abilities, and the mark on their necks that set them apart. Anything that made them different. It's uncertain what exactly triggered such strong hatred, but if Magnus had his way, there would be a mass extermination, beginning with the little blonde brat who dared run from his sister's power. Magnus runs his factories off as much Mage power as possible, though he makes sure that the Mages know that they're being punished by treating the Humans he employs well. This means that Mages are given the harder, dirtier jobs, less hours to do them, and less money as a reward. He feels sympathy only toward the younger Mages, because he happens to like children, though he'd rather them be Human than Mage. Magnus happens to be rather fond of one of his personal slaves, Duske, a seven-year-old girl who wakes him in the morning, brings him breakfast in bed, readies his wardrobe for the day, and massages his feet and back before he gets up. She's mute, though her twin brother, Dawne speaks enough for both of them. If she weren't a Mage, he'd probably treat her like his own daughter — it's why he enjoys her inability to speak. She can't remind him of the abomination she really is.]

Alright, there are just a few things I have to say:

@ Aoi & Kyousuke- Please finish your character profiles as soon as possible.

@ Zero- I've sent you another PM about your first character, so please read that (And respond to it or change your profile as needed) before posting using that character.

And now, let's get this RP started!

The Branded

[Edric Blair - Shopping District]

In a pub in the Shopping District, a large crowd of people were gathered, listening to one man as he spoke to the crowd. He was Edric Blair, the leader of the Anti-Rebellion, and the crowd that gathered around him was the majority of the Anti-Rebellion. No one else was there, Edric made sure of that. He rented out the pub for most of the late afternoon, and had even personally checked guests as they came in almost an hour ago. At this current moment, he was in the middle of summarizing what the group had agreed upon earlier in the meeting.

"That shall be our plan of action for the next couple of days," Edric said, "Until our next meeting. Or unless something shall arise that causes our plan as a defensive force to change... If that becomes the case, then we shall simply switch and turn into an offensive force. Just like..."

Edric smiled and snapped his fingers.

"That." Edric concluded. He looked around the crowd, to make sure no one appeared too confused from his long-winded explanation. As he scanned the crowd, a smile came to his face. There are so many faces here, Edric thought, It brings me much joy to see all of these people joined together here, regardless of class, united in hopes of quelling the Rebellion.

"And so," Edric said, "This concludes the Anti-Rebellion meeting of the week. I hope you all have a nice da-"

"Edric Blair!" A messenger boy shouted as he barged into the pub, "Mr. Blair, sir!"

"Yes, what is it?" Edric asked.

"There is a strike going on in the Factory District!" the boy cried, "In the large factory just to the north of this pub. Mage fueled, of course, and I believe it is Rebellion related as well."

"Is that so?" Edric said, "Why can't we get through one meeting peacefully?"

Edric chuckled a bit at his own remark and looked around at the others.

"Well, it can't be helped," Edric said, "Duty calls, ladies and gentlemen. We must forget the plans we made in the past hour, and go on the offensive for this encounter if it is needed. Let us march forward!"

With that, Edric led the Anti-Rebellion out of the pub, as they charged toward the factory and manufacturing district.

[Ramona Rosworth - Factory District]

Ramona Rosworth stood outside a large factory on this dark and rainy day, but her spirits were not deterred by the weather. She could hear cries from the crowd that she stood towards the front of, cries that she agreed with and joined in with from time to time.

"Better treatment of mages!" Ramona shouted along with the crowd, "Equality for mages!"

Just then, a few of the members of the crowd quieted down, as they heard shouts come from the back of the crowd, shouts that were not of the cause of the strike. Ramona quieted down as well, to try and hear what they were saying, but she then heard swords clashing. She took a knife out and firmly gripped it in her hand.

"Great," Ramona muttered, "This was only supposed to be a peaceful strike, but some idiots in the back just made this demonstration much more than that..."

Ramona then worked her way towards the back of the crowd, wanting only to try and stop a larger fight from breaking out, but it was too late. More and more people, both members of the Rebellion and members of the Anti-Rebellion, starting pouring into the small scuffle, turning it into a full blown fight.

[Jace - Northern Shopping District]

Jace was sitting at a pub that was frequented by the visitors to the city, because it was located almost right
next to the city gates. He was drinking water, he wasn't comfortable drinking alcohol as it would loosen his
control, something Jace was afraid more than anything...

He shuddered as memories of the past once again ran through his mind, the man sitting on the other side of the
table smirked.

Man: It's a chilly day, you should take something to warm yourself up.

Jace: I rather not... everything is going okay I hope.

Man: Yeah, we got your message along with the "things", the usual place.

Jace nodded and finished his water, standing up and dropping a small leather pouch to the man's pocket as he left.

Jace: Have a nice day.

Man: I sure will.

Jace pulled his hood up and stepped out of the pub and into the rainy streets. He pulled out a small steel sphere
from his pocket, he stared at it for a while then put it back and started heading towards the park on the eastern
side of the city. He walked slowly taking cover from the rain as much as possible. He was standing in a street
corner waiting for a guard patrol to get far enough from him as he felt someone pulling his coat. He turned to see
a young boy, maybe 12 years old, in worn out clothes, standing behind him.

Boy: The Factory District, looks bad.

Jace nodded and pushed two coins into the boys hand, the boys eyes lit up as he left leaving Jace standing in the
street corner. He wondered for a while if he should just go about his business, but then dismissed the idea, he would
need to at least see how the situation was.

He turned and started making his way towards the Factory District.
