30th ANNIVERSARY OF
MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM


Start in this July 2009, Tokyo citizens will never have to worry about alien attack, enemy's robot or any other evil forces anymore.
Why? Because, there will be a 59 feet/18 meter Gundam that will protect the city againts them.

This 59 feet Gundam is made to celebrate the 30th anniversary of 'Kidou Senshi Gundam' anime series.
This gundam is built up using a fiber glass.
It's capability to move it's own head and unleash some lights, Gundam will probably become the most interesting attraction in Tokyo this year.

But unfortunately, Gundam will only stand for 2 months.

So, what's bigger than Gundam? The cost to make one. A real one. Science Portal, a site run by the Japan Science and Technology Agency, figured the price tag of a real Gundam would be around US$725,000,000 for parts and materials alone. That does not include the labor costs incurred in constructing the 60 foot tall, 43.7 metric ton robot. A breakdown of parts looks something like this:

Make your way to the RX-78's location. The Gundam is located in Shiokaze Park, Odaiba. You could easily get there by Yurikamome Line or Rinkai Line. I am going to tell you how to reach the park from Yurikamome Line. First, take the Yurikamome Line and head to Daiba Station. Once arrived, head toward the north exit (go left from the gate). On the right side, you will see the Aqua City and the Statue of Liberty. Ignore that ! Your destination is on the left side.
