Do you mean an anime that started in 2008? Or just an anime that's been really popular in 2008? I would say the best one that started in '08 would be X'amd: Lost Memories. Loves me some HD anime.    |

ef - a tale of melodies hands down nothing else in 2008 can match up with the quality of that series imo. there are lots of good animes that start in 2008 but most of them will be finish in 2009

Code Geass, hands down. A lot of notable titles I haven't seen though, but if this was actually up for an award, Code Geass R2 would have to be a favorite.

I think Code Geass R2 is one of the top anime in 2008.

For me CLANNAD ~After Story~ even though it is still ongoing. For complete series i would have to say ef ~a tale of melodies~ for the sheer entertainment & emotion. Just plain fun i would have to say Rosario + Vampire Capu2 & Sekirei. For fan-service Ikkitousen ~Great Guardians~ and the ones i mentioned above. Honorable mentions to Gai-rei Zero, ToLoveRu, Kara no Kyoukai movies & To Aru Majutsu Index. For most disappointing i have to say ChaoS;HEad. I was expecting so much more from this series due to the absolutely wonderful visual novel. The game had so much atmosphere & mystique...the anime did one thing well & that was showing the emotions & trauma Taku when he had to distiguish what was reality & what was not. Overall it ended up being an average 'harem' anime....a shame.  |

For some reason, I felt Ga-Rei Zero had a LOT of content left out. O.o` I was for sure expecting 24+ episodes, but a bit over half... I was shocked, though it was good, no doubt about that. Same with Kyo no Go no Ni, ended at 13 when I thought it was going to go for 26, for sure. :/ I loved To-Love Ru, but did you feel it got a bit sketchy as it approached the ending? And speaking about the ending, I hated it, haha, but the series in general I loved, started out so strong. A personal for me could be Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka, though I wanted more from that as well. I could probably add more series that could also be up for possible nominations, though I never finished a lot of them, ha.

The Anime of the year was pretty much Gundam 00 for me. It had the best Story and it had Gundam oO (thats Reason enough) I haven't watch'd Code Geass R2 yet so i still have to check this before i can be sure. There wasn't much Love Comedy 2008 so i gotta say Toradora was the best in that categorie. The best Action was also Gundam for me and the best Sports was Major Season 4. I sure hope next year will be better :/ |

Code Geass R2 for me. Actually...that's pretty much the only anime I watched that was released in 2008. Didn't watch much of anything else besides some earlier released anime >_< I try to avoid manga turned anime like Vamipre Knight, Kuroshitsuji, Shugo Chara, Special A, etc. (I could list a ton more -___-)
