I was just listening to one when this idea struck me. What's the most soulful song from anime OST or otherwise that you've heard? waitwaitwait... when you talk about Soul, is it the genre 'Soul' or are you talking about soulful delivery of a song? When it comes to a soulful delivery of anime songs, JAM Project is second to none, their most soulful works in anime music are "Enkou Gasshin Sol Gravion" - Gravion ZWEI "Hoshizora no Requiem" - SRW OVA "Senshi yo Nemure" - Mazinkaiser Shitou Ankoku Daishogun "Tornado" - Mazinkaiser "Rising" - Shin Getter VS Neo Getter the finest of their works are for game songs though

try suga shikao. though not really sure what genre are his songs though. try hachi gatsu no seranade its a nice song. Edit: suga songs from honey & clover. are kind a soulful. |

"SHINE" from Laruku, perhaps? Others like "Toki wo Kizamu Uta" from Lia? Actually a lot of her anime harem songs are very melodic, yet have a lot of soul? Maybe Minmi's songs for Samurai Champloo? I might know a lot more songs but can't really depict if they're either soul or whatever, relating to this thread. :P

The only one I can think of right now is Kataritsugu Koto by Hajime Chitose. And almost anything by Atari Kousuke IMO. ;P  |
