(2 Disc Game) Published by: Square Enix Developed by: tri-Ace Release Date: September 2, 2008 Genre: RPG Platform: Xbox 360 Rating: Teen This game caught my eye when I was watching TV and a saw a trailer for it. When I saw that it was from Square-Enix, I felt my gamer-side start itching to play it. I thought the graphics looked amazing (the YouTube vid kinda kills it though -__-) and the game itself looked interesting. In all honesty, I'd be playing the game right now and telling you how great it is and how it lived up to my expectations...except...I DON'T HAVE AN XBOX 360. O______________O I sit here now Infinite Undiscovery-less and Xbox 360-less wondering if I should spend $300+ on the Xbox 360. I wouldn't buy the Xbox 360 just for Infinite Undiscovery, I'd definitely buy more games like Ninja Gaiden, Soul Caliber, Star Wars: Force Unleashed, etc. (Infinite Undiscovery is more of my incentive to buy it) However...I'm also wondering...what if Infinite Undiscovery isn't worth it? What if I'm stuck with a game system that I didn't want too much in the first place but only got it for Infinite Undiscovery which turned out to be bad? There goes the money I could've used to get a PS3, which I know I want T^T So I want to know for those of you who've played Infinite Undiscovery/are playing this game...is it worth it? Even for those who haven't played, do you think it's worth it? None of my friends are RPG gamers like me, so as a last resort, I turn here. Help me out a bit please? >_< |

this is the most horrible rpg i have ever played. the controls suk, the gameplay sukx, and combos suk, also the main character capell whines like a b... "cut it out". has nothing to do with the square part mostly enix's tri ace that did the star ocean but the story is worse than so3. the name infinite undiscovery is the pefect name for the game cause youll never know why they made it in the first place. Playing this game wanted me to want Final Fantasy 13 even more than before. graphics are okay and audio is really bad. they have voiceless cutscenes with subtitles but their mouths move so closely with wat they wrote so i think the japanese version is voiced. dont waste your money save for the ps3 ff13. but i might get last remnant i hear its being made by the square part so i think itll be better off than this garbage. |

Haha, sad! It's really that bad? Dang, I thought it might actually be good! >o< I did watch a cutscene with english audio...god my ears hurt so much! O_o' Anyways, thanks for your input taichokerorogunso. It doesn't seem like a lot of people have played this game...and I think I know why now >_< I'll definitely save my money for the PS3 and FF-XIII ^o^ I'm glad I didn't impulsively buy the Xbox 360 and Infinite Undiscovery when I had the chance. Thanks again! |

Hold on, hold on, Infinite Undiscovery is not a bad game in the least. It's a perfectly serviceable J-rpg. It's by no means a great game but it is not bad either. The gameplay was pretty decent and was really what gave the game any distinction. The story is pretty bland, nothing that a person who has played their share of J-rpgs hasn't seen before. I would give the game a C+ to B-. However, I think that you shouldn't rely on our opinions, go and give the game a rental and see for yourself whether it's for you or not. You should probably wait for Last Remnant though, or if you want it FF:XIII for the 360 or PS3. |

Well, if I had a chance, I would rent the game...but I don't have a 360 to play it on T^T And I doubt any of my friends would let me borrow theirs O_o' Therein lies the real problem. I'm not stingy about spending money on the game, it's the game system that I need >_< A lot of the games I'd get for the 360 besides Infinite Undiscovery are also on the PS3, which I want more (Soul Caliber and Dynasty Warriors 6!!, don't want it just for FF-XIII) But yeah, you're right Matt C, I shouldn't rely just on yours or other people's opinions. |

try it out yourself... you never know what your expression is to the game & besides i think it looks decent to me, not better than Star ocean @ least (so3 was so bland w/ the story). if i probably play the game ima like it cause i like tri-ace, also have you seen the trailer to Star ocean the last hope... ;3; freaking epic |

I somewhat agree with Taichi-san. Although i wouldn't say it is the worst game ever but it is a mediocre game compared to other RPGs out there. I for one believed the game was rushed & really never thought of well. The story is pretty bland, far from epic. The characters although some are nice they don't really stand out. The main guy whines more so than Fayt XD! The battle system feels unbalanced, the AI are often kinda Dumb!, the menus aren't that great. There are too many characters that have no use & you sometimes never use them or want to use them. Graphically it looks nice but i expected something more. The sound is often god awful. The dubbing is inconsistent & sometimes you wished there was a japanese option. The game is also VERY SHORT for an RPG...you can probably finish the game in 30 hours or so...maybe less. There is not many sidequest available & most of those are 'getting' things for NPC. I compare this game to like Radiant Story but less fun. It's a decent RPG but only for diehard fans that have to play every RPG available. Hopefully Squenix will spend more time working on SO4 (which should be on the PS3 as well but that rant from me can come at a late date XP) than the time they spent making this game. *My review* A decent but mediocre compared to other RPGs that has more negatives than positives. Too short, to unbalanced but nice to look at with a few decent characters. Score: 6/10 |

@BTL- The bottom line, it's mediocre. It's average, standard, production line mass manufacture. It isn't a killer app, that's something you can be sure of, it isn't the game that's going to decide on whether or not you get a 360 or PS3. Besides, when you look at it rationally, how long do you think it's going to be before it gets ported? This is Square-Enix we're talking about, the company that will port the same game to 3 different platforms to cash in. I doubt it'll stay exclusive with SE at the helm. |

Somethings tell me it looks like a rip-off of Monster Hunter. |

LOL, the rating said 'Use of alcohol' in the trailer xD Whaaat xDDDD Oooo~ the graphics and characters look so promising~~~ but this really has the gist of FF12 though >_< Most of you said it has bad controls and unappealing storyline... I guess it's an avoidable SquareEnix game. Only in XBox360? There should be a PS3 copy for this game. |

OK I finally bought a strategy guide and revised my opinion of the game Not as bad as i first thought given it some play time but story doesnt make sense. killing off an awesome character in the beginning is just messed up. and then makes you play as the worthless main character that plays flute music during a boss battle... the sidequests arent even fulfilling. when i started played i maxed out the main chars. level just by juggling one enemy in the air for 3 hours. and then bosses were a piece of cake. someone should kill off the square enix game makers and bring back the people that made the story lines for FF6-10 cause these new games arent even close to the old ones. They shouldve been better, I think the games being made now are by the enix team cause if you look at the minimap in this game, last remnant, and star ocean its the same map. star ocean 3 was awesome so if they mess up the next star ocean im not a square fan anymore. |
