Frankly, the magical girl genre is one of my faves! i love Nanoha A's, Sailor Moon, Magic Knight Rayearth and Princess Tutu. u guys...?

Magical girl genre means girls that lives normal lives in their societies and are given their magic by a powerful being, along with a magical familiar(usually). They have a transformation sequence in which they use said magic. Lina Inverse fails in more than just one of the prerequisites of a magical girl. She belongs more in fantasy because A) everyone in her world can have the ability to use magic, B) she doesn't have a transformations sequence, C) she doesn't have a familiar (though Gourry is dumb enough to be counted as one), D) no one gave her the ability to use magic.

But now I don't like this genre very much =P

OMG, I almost forgot about Akazukin ChaCha. It was a childhood favorite. ^^

Anyways, my favorites would be Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Akazukin ChaCha. They're basically the only Magic Girl animes I've watch before though. XD

Suzaku, me too.. i also used to love this anime when i was little, but now(that i am older) i am more into magical boys anime A.K.A. shonen anime
