well, there are a few characters i *cough* hate *cough* : ~ Flay Allster (how could she manipulate KIra!) ~ Yuna Roma Saran (just sucks.) ~ Cagalli Yula Athha (ok, just a little!) ~ Patrick Zala (because of him, Lacus & Athrun AREN'T engaged. lol.) ~ Lunamaria Hawke (just a little. only 'cause she went woth Shinn. Shinn&Stellar forever!) ~ Shinn Asuka (a little bit. he was kinda of a jerk.) ~ Muruta Azrael (need i say more?) |

@Pandora and Suzaku- It's most hated character in GSD. Flay Allster, Patrick Zala and Muruta Azrael aren't in GSD. I hate Stellar, always have and always will. She is one of the characters in the show that deserved to die. Shinn and Luna are a better couple. At least Luna isn't mentally unstable, she has memories, she's known Shinn longer and spent more time with him and she actually has a personality. I don't see where all this love for Stellar is coming from, and this hate for Luna. Luna is more of a real character than Stellar, you call what she does bad but the fact is that's how humans are, I'd say a lot of people like you would act like that put in those circumstances. Stellar isn't a real person, she's a walking doll. Is it because Stellar died that everyone loves her so much? This is really starting to mirror FFVII events with Tifa and Aerith.>.>    |

I'm probably one of the few who actually liked Fllay's character....to me she's one of the most REAL characters in the series. She's probably hated most for her manipulation of Kira (guess there are ALOT of fanboys/girls out there)....she did it cause her father was killed. Anger & the thirst for vengeance can get the better of you & it it got the better of Fllay. I know what she did was wrong but she did what she could do....she wasn't able to avenge her father so she "used" the only person she can...Kira. Remember she wanted to go out in Strike but Kira stopped her which meant he has feelings for her. Also she hated the coordinators for taking everything from her....the war took away alot of things. It was only in the end that she realized the errors in her ways....it's unfortunate she didn't really get the chance to express those errors to everyone...which is why her death was tragic in my opinion. Anyways now that is settled....i don't really hate characters...not my style. If i have to....i guess... Muruta Azrael & Patrick Zala....both of them only wanted more POWER & did things out of reason....they were intent on killing each other (using whatever means neccessary) to satisfy their lust for power.  |

@Izumo- I think the same way about Fllay. In a sense you took the words right out of my mouth. I got wrapped up in trashing Stellar that I forgot about Fllay.XD Izumo is right, Fllay was the only character that felt real in a personality sense. Everyone else acted pretty normal considering they were civilians that got thrown into military service. It just didn't work. |

well lets see here... Lunamaria, she was just irritating though she was like Flay in the sense of more like a real person, so she wasn't that bad Azrael, c'mon all he wanted to do was kill people, what was his problem Yuna, him and his father just wanted Cagalli so they could control Orb i'd say that's about it, but what's with all the hate for Stellar?? seriously?? yes, yes she was somewaht of a walking doll, but if you went through all the drugs and such wouldn't you seem out of it?  |

@cute- "what's with all the hate for Stellar??" If I put you under drugs and sent you to annihilate Berlin would everyone be okay with it? I think not. Just because the military is using her doesn't mean you can't hate her for what she does and/or has done. Also, do to the very fact she is was born and raised going through those drugs and stuff she doesn't have a personality or nature or her own. What can you like about her? She has no qualities to like, she has no qualities at all for that matter. Yet, despite this everybody thinks Stellar is the perfect little innocent angel. Most fans of GSD like Stellar and hate Lunamaria, which is something that really amazes me considering Luna had an actual personality while Stellar was just a living doll. |

THANK YOU Jon!!! finally someone who actually agrees with me that Fllay is actually a pretty good character. It just erks me to hear all these Kira fanboys/girls trash her for something that she did that anyone in that situation will do. Seriously if your thrusted into military duty it will all come naturally?....they had no proper training. A traumatizing moment like seeing your father/loved one die right in front of you & you couldn't do anything about it.....how would you react? As for my opinion on Stellar...well she was a decent character....probably cause her voice is done by the same person who did Fllay ^^. Probably alot of people like her for her "non-drugged" version when she's all innocent & vulnerable...child-like you can say. Her meeting with Shinn is SO like the meeting with Cagalli & Athrun & we know how many love that relationship. Her personality is questionable but aesthetically she's a pretty cute character.  See she's cute XD Although this tread is about characters in Gundam SEED Destiny...Fllay, Patrick Zala....& all those who appear in Gundam SEED are also technically in GSD cause they appear in flashbacks...so i guess they can be considered hated in GSD. |

@Izumo- Exactly! All the other characters (Mir, Kuzzy, Sai, etc.) were put on board and started serving as Ensign's without any training what so ever for a prototype battleship. What's more they acted like nothing was going on. Like they had seen war and things all their lives. Fllay was the only one who was mortally afraid of the things going on around her and actually realized the danger of the situation. Her and her actions represented how any regular person would be like in that kind of situation. Yes, she did manipulate Kira, she did it because she was angry about her father's death that Kira said he would prevent but didn't do to the fact that he didn't want to fight Athrun. She was angry and wanted vengeance, can all those people who say what she did was horrible really say that they wouldn't want that as well? And to be fair, Kira was a weak-minded character. He was easily manipulated by everyone throughout the entire series. Only in the end of GS and through GSD does he actually know what he wants to fight for. EDIT: @Izumo- Actually it can't be counted. In the flashbacks those characters aren't speaking their mind, and those of them who you actually hear in the flashbacks don't say much. In other words they don't appear enough to judge them in GSD. |

firstly, *slaps forehead* forgot that azrael & flay AREN'T in gsd. secondly, Stellar has to be sympathised. She DOES have a personality; she just doesn't express it. but u can tell of her personality through her feelings for Shinn; sure she's mentally unstable and destructive but she can't help it, she was brought up that way. But you can tell she truly has feelings towards Shinn that can be interpreted as love/strong liking. so, although her personality is very vague, you can tell she's human by her feelings for Shinn. plus her innocence IS a part of her; wasn't she happy when she was all innocent and in a dazed manner? Stellar is NO doll. Dolls do not have feelings. Stellar could love and fear and be happy; it's just that she can't express them properly at the appropriate way and time. and Lunamaria isn't liked by some because she's so extra! i mean, i have no clue why she's even a redcoat to begin with. next, it seems as though Shinn went with her to get over Stellar's death. Lunamaria can be weak-willed at times too. for the matter on Flay, yes i don't like her because she used Kira. being thirsty for revenge and angry at the ones who killed your father is still no excuse for manipulating someone who's emotionally confused [Kira]. but i admit i only sympathise with her at the episode she was killed. the only good thing about her is that she realises her true feelings for Kira and sees that she is in the wrong. but other than that episode, i still dislike her. for the matter of "REAL" characters, i have to say that all of them are 'real'. Humans in real life express themselves in different ways, thus even anime characters [miriallia, sai, kuzzey etc] cannot be judged as not 'real'. they just reacted differently, due to their personalities. |

@ pandora9201 Personally i thought the Stellar & Shinn relationship was more like brother & sister...than actual lovers. I guess their encounter was kind of a shock to Stellar...being a military weapon and all...she probably never really felt these kind of emotions before. Shinn was there to help her...being protective of her like an older brother....i don't know but that's how i saw their relationship. Although she is a human she acted like a doll...personality wise that is. Sorry but I have to heavily disagree with you about Fllay. You honestly believe if you were put in that situation you would've done things differently? "being thirsty for revenge and angry at the ones who killed your father is still no excuse for manipulating someone" Well yes it can be an excuse....revenge & anger are powerful emotions that CAN take over you if you are emotionally scarred. Kira was the only person who could've prevented the death but being such a weak character in the beginning he didn't. Of course Fllay would seek retribution from the person responsible...Kira. She trusted him yet he failed her...the sex was added motivation & since Kira felt responsible he complied...he could've easily disageed but again in the beginning he WAS a WEAK character. Fllay was angry at the co-ordinators & since Kira is a co-ordinator also she didn't care if he died....that's why she said "fight...fight until you die"...but realizing her error she wanted to express her true feelings to everyone half-way through the series but wasn't able to cause Kira went off to fight Athrun...(the same events when Tolle died)....& was presumed dead. She was an ordinary teenage girl thrown into a war she never really wanted a part of & tragic events made her act out of character....again personally it was sad she died the way she did with no real closure. As for the other characters....like Jon said....it's hard to believe they are REAL characters when they are 15-17 yr old students thrusted into military combat with no prior training, on a top secret battleship, during a time of war & they acted like it was all natural....like they done it before....c'mon that is seriously bogus! They showed no fear...no hestitation...Mir i can give some slack....when Tolle died she actually acted normally. Yes...it IS an anime & stuff like this they can get away with....REAL-LIFE is totally different....so i really couldn't take GDS & GDS:D seriously. There were only a few things i actually cared about Fllay's character being one of them....Mwu being the other. As for Destiny....Meer was the only one i cared about. Shinn a little cause he showed some characteristics of what a real person would do. |

@pandora- Stellar's 'feelings' as you put it are not as real as you think. She never developed them through life experiences. Look. "Second Stage Extended humans were physically and psychologically altered with heavy mental conditioning, performance-enhancing drugs, and extremely harsh combat training. They were more stable than first-stage Extendeds but required regular reconditioning, especially when their trigger words were used to force actions from them. They also required regular brain "maintenance" to keep them in a high-performance state and to erase any "undesirable" memories they might possess." Stellar is an Extended that was created and trained for no other purpose other than combat, she IS a doll. There is nothing to sympathize with her. Why should I feel sad that she died? She was created in a lab and trained for killing only, she wiped out Berlin and killed thousands, like hell I'm going to sympathize her. She deserved to be killed for her actions. You can't rationalize killing so many people. Now, for your comment on the characters reality. Like Izumo said, even if people all act differently you are not going to find many civilians around that you can toss on board a battleship who will stay calm and act like the GS characters. How about this, I'm going to give you a uniform and stick an assault rifle in your hands, now I want you to run out into a warzone and fight. You can honostly tell me that any normal person having no military experience would be fine with that? I don't think so. And about Luna, she was there for Shinn more than Stellar was. They did know eachother prior to the start of GSD, they actually went to the same Military Academy and were friends. Both Luna and Shinn relied on eachother for emotional support which is where they drew closer together. They simply didn't just turn around and fall in love in a single scene like many people think of it. @Izumo- I agree with your first statement. I also think that Stellar and Shinn had more of an older brother, younger sister feel to it. After all, Shinn and Stellar talked only a few times throughout the series with eachother (Stellar being in her 'innocent' state of course. Not her psychopath state.) so they really never got a chance to develop any kind of relationship. Also, just a little tidbit of info. In the RP here at Gendou, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FATE, 10 years after the war that takes place in the main story Luna and Shinn are married and are going to have a child. So take that Stellar fans and Luna haters.XP |

SIGHS. i shall not let my efforts be futile once more; this ur mosted hated character in GSD thread is going to become a let's discuss the personalities of GSD characters thread instead. but u can proceed if u wish to. [but really, at least Stellar didn't kill so many people due to the thisrt for revenge. she was emotionally scarred by fear. and it's not impossible for teenagers to be in a war and act rationally. it depends on how they react to it! it depends on their motives as well. like if they feel that they ought to make a contribution, they wouldn't openly admit/show how terrified they were.] at least so far there's no mention of anyone hating Meyrin. phew. there's also no mention of anyone hating Meer. hmmm... |

There's no excuse for those kind of actions, Stellar was created for that purpose but that does not mean it's alright or can be forgiven. Killing can never be justified, trying to only makes it a greater sin. I'll leave the Stellar discussion at that. And finally, take my example. Choose any teenager at random that's never experienced war and toss them into a warzone, let's just see how rational they will act. This is why the characters never felt real and I never liked them. I did like Fllay because she actually acted like a real human would. Fear isn't something you can control, your either afraid of death or not, what your fighting for or what you feel you have to do gets shoved aside when your basic desire for survival comes into play. P.S- We're still staying on topic. Both myself and Izumo have been giving the reasons why a character can be hated or liked in the series based on what we have seen. Personality is a big part of the reason to hate or like a character, by discussing it we are making points as to why we hate or like a character. |

Yeah i agree....i basically already expressed my feelings on Fllay & "REAL" characters. Everyone has their opinion....agree of disagree i respect their views. As for hating on Meer i definately hope no one does (again the Lacus fanboys/gals will disagree ^^).....she did what she thought was right....only to be manipulated by the Chairman. Yes she went overboard in the later half of the series when she began to believe she was Lacus. Unlike Fllay though she actually had the chance to express her remorse & errors to the one person she had always admired....Lacus. So her death had closure....it was a sad moment for me T_T. Especially the part having Athrun carry her....T_T. |
