Posting replies and being logged out.
|
Not a problem as such, but is it normal to be automatically logged out? I was just writing up a reply to a topic and when I went to post it I had been logged out. Luckily I didn't lose what I had written as that would have taken a while to rewrite. (Thank goodness for copy and pasting.) Still, I wonder if it's something we have to keep an eye out on when writing a long post. PS. Sorry if this should go in the Help section, but it didn't seem to make too much sense to post this there.
Wait a minute, are you sure about that?

sessions expire after 15 minutes of inactivity, i believe. this is a feature not a bug. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks. That just means copy and paste just in case, or writing quicker.
Wait a minute, are you sure about that?

Exactly. My suggestion is when making a long post or in the middle of posting if you leave for a bit, highlight and copy whatever it is your going to post. |

exactly what i do. haha~ or, you can open two windows with one where you're typing in and the other on either who’s online or in search, then you keep refreshing the other every five minutes while typing in the other. that way, you don’t get logged out. ^_____^ err~ is that bad…? i mean, it’s going against the feature of the site… hoping i’m not giving a bad example, -michiyo- ![]() beware. the QueeN oF SiGGieS is here. kill that mr. scrolly or your siggy goes BAI BAI. it's solidarity month! let's be united! +[-- GeNDouNiaNS: i am half-back! visit my blog by clicking on the siggie banner! updated: 12.07.07 --]+

@Michiyo- I don't see a problem. I think the main purpose of that feature is so people don't stay logged in all the time[Also increasing the risk of someone getting into your account] |

i am surprised nobody has noticed this yet, but on the download page, there is a javascript timer that refreshes after an hour. this way, nobody should ever see expired links, cause the page will refresh its self! :) the reason this will not work on the post reply page is rather obvious :P ![]() ![]() ![]() |
