Whoa you guys are so nice with the crits and whatnot.. I feel bad for not commenting on the songs now :((!!!! There is something that I would like to say a bit about a few of the performances.. but that doesn't mean that they are my favourite or anything though so don’t get me wrong! Engel:: I hope this doesn't scare you but your voice really sounds like SakuraNek0's O_O I literally jumped when I heard it. Obviously your vocal techniques are different from hers and stuff. You just sound like her too much though.. *headdesk* Don't tell me you are her!?!!??! *runs round like mad* Erkun:: Hey you sang one of my favourite songs… AQUA TIMEZ WOHOO! I think that your voice really suits this song. The beginning was my favourite. =) I think that most people would be quite pitchy there because the guitar is playing so low in the background but your pitch was spot on! But as the song goes on, I thought your voice was a bit ‘repetitive’, if you get me. In my opinion, I think that you could’ve varied your singing a bit with different singing techniques. You started losing energy (I think) as well when the choruses returned. The verses were very well done though. Nice performance. Benfok:: Woooohoo a Chinese song Xâ€D This song sort of grew up with me ahaha ;P As my parents used to always listen to it. You ARE a huge Hacken Lee fan heh? :D He is awesome. There is something that I have always wanted to point out about your microphone quality. This also applies to the tracks you sent me to mix. The reason that it is taking so long for me to mix is because of, well, school work first of all, but also because it sounds so ‘muffled’. That might be to do with your microphone or perhaps because you stand too close to the microphone when you sing? There tends to be lots of puffs too in your tracks. Anyway.. on with the performance. It was emotionally sung but I think that perhaps you could have added more sadness especially when you hit the high notes. Hacken does really well in these so perhaps you could imitate him a bit to get the grisp first Xâ€D? There are quite a few flat notes here and there but pitch was pretty steady ^_^ Well done. Yinzhao:: Woo Flavor of life! I never listened to the original.. I only listened to Fantasii’s version and it left a huge impression on me. First of all, I don’t think you could ever say that you can’t sing high now Xâ€D This goes up to a high E flat and an F. ;D It is a pretty tough song as well. Some of the high notes were sung flat (e.g. the flavour of life). In my opinion though.. both the verses and choruses needed a bit more emotion. It’s harder in the verses coz the notes are so low. That actually sort of made you sound a tad bit bored. Only a tad. The choruses had some emotion but I guess needs more? I don’t know what the lyrics mean but I remember Fantasii’s version was filled with emotion so I guess that’s what Hikki did too? =) I never got to mention this but I always think that by imitating other singers (who are full of emotion), it helps you to grasp the idea and develop your own ‘emotion’ when singing too. Anyway.. this was done well =)! I write essays again +_+ I am sorry that I didn’t get to say much >< I will come back when I have time to critique more.. though many people tend to think that my crits are too harsh Xâ€D Anyways.. good day everyone~  |

@ICD: Wow thanks for commenting. I just love criticisms (and I'm not being sarcastic here.) ^^ The problem with me is that if I apply too much technique (or something like that) my pitch becomes inaccurate. Looks like I focused too much on the pitches gehehe. I also tried not to sound like Aqua Timez too much, so I refrained from using my speaking voice in singing (which is the pop/j-pop way of singing I think). Instead I sang with lots of air LOL (did that make sense...?) And yeah, my voice is rather weak when it comes to endurance(?); a couple of songs and my voice breaks already. *set essay mode to off* Btw your song's brilliant. ^_^ ------------------------------ Listened to some entries... @Kouji: We've got a winner here. ^^ @Suk: Awesome version of RSG dude!  |

Here I go~~ Kero>> Hmm... lotsa mic movements at the beginning. I must say Kero... were you feeling well when you recording this? This doesn't seem to be your usual standards. You lack the genki that u always had. Tkuz>> Very manly voice~ Nice control too~ The song seems abit deep and thus at the sudden high parts u seem to have some difficulty reaching them. Hikari>> You seem to mumble the words abit. Not familiar with song perhaps? Also there seems to be some pitch probs~ Atashi>> Very long opening and your voice came in as a pleasent surprise. But is abit soft in contrast to the BGM~ And I found this song... well... some what strange... Suzaku>> very sweet song... you sounded somehow tremberly though... cool, lotsa great songs... Group B @Kero: lower range songs are definitely your type! try to vary the loudness of your tone more to portray the emotions..aak..this song is staying in my head now :P @Tkuz: very lively singing :P you have me tapping my foot along, the only thing is, watch the higher notes, but overall, great! @Hikari: i got used to the original so much it sounded a lil'..different when i heard your version :P that's brave of you to sing the counterpart! (btw, i hav been waiting for your acapella :P sorry for not mailing..busy days XD) @Atashi: hehe i was wondering why there's no singing after 30 secs..cute song, a nice attempt, and good job on the rhythm @Engel: both the song and voice sounds beautiful! u tried out some effects didn't you? i feel it'd be nice if you also threw in some extra vibratos^^ nice selection, what's the song's name? @Suzaku: sweet! pretty song :P it's been a while since i heard you sing japanese..i think you should be careful with the rhythm, this song is rather tricky with the timing. ooh you guys XDDD I didnt sing the normal flavor of life like ryoko did in the first rounds (that btw was a great cover ryoko <_<) this is the ballad version lool =D ICD - thanks =D I know what you mean.. the real version is much much lower though, I sang it a bit different and made the verses go higher instead of even LOWER XD actually when i sung this I really didnt like how I did becuz almost everything was so sharp and flat or off key.. but when I listened back later it sounded ok.. I think I heard myself singing so off key lately that I don't hear it anymore hahah =D and ok i can sing high.. but not powerful <_< my high is all falsetto -__-'

Once you learn how to manage the great potential and power you have...wow...you'll blow me off. Tough competition. *back to the corner and hide* @ICD: I am glad you like the chinese song. I am a huge Hacken Lee fan. I imitate him all the time. I know I am not perfect but I will keep trying. Sorry for the muffling sound. Yes. My mouth was quite close to the mic when I record, about 2 inches or so. i also have a piece of paper to dampen the breathing. That could be the source of the muffling. I am building my own "Stereo" mic which uses the "Line-in" function of the computer to record. I am hoping that would improve things and give me a "directional" quality to the recording. *Now back to the corner and wait*  |

T____T and i was thinking to post before the judges too...T______T ..anyways...in my opinion... @Erkun:i like the way you sing, feels laid back and effortless^^ (& the occasional 'playful' tone as well^^)love the confidence! @ICD: interesting choice :P i feel the strength, yes, itz reaching my ears^^..eh? it ended so quickly, i was hoping for more XD @W/o You: everything connects beautifully, and the emotions really come through well ~ you always manage to portray your emotions through singing *ebil stare...* =p ooh..the *suspense* @Engel: haha..your comment caught my eye.."nice 'drag of voice'"...i think i'd say that too if u ask me to put my thoughts into words @Ryoko: you chose a nice catchy song, good one! you know what, i think your voice is especially sharp at the beginning (in a great way :P) and i like it even better when the layers of vocals overlap @Kouji: such a soothing and beautiful voice. I think it's a good song selection as it really shows off your potential in both very different verses~ im feeling nice& warm now ~_^ @SUK: oh yeah? u call this a boring song eh? far from it! you've really improved so much, your singing a lot of confidence lurking round the song^^(aah..an advert interrupted your song!*closes window*) @Yinzhao:gave me a start at the beginning, but hey, beautiful song! interpretation~if u ask me to put it into words, would be how you listen to a song, and then, in this case, expressing it in a way YOU feel it's best portrayed ~ a rather 'personal' judgement of a song @Mrmoon: you always amaze me with your song selection, if i remembered correctly, the previous one was high-pitched too^^did i hear some coughs in the middle section?^^ overall, a challenging one! nicely done :P @Pame: do you vote for 1 from Group A and another from Group B? just to make sure *goes on to read judges' comments*^^i notice that in this round their comments seem so much shorter..wonder why?^^ T__T hmm..there are too many tough choices to make here..votes...votes....hesitates...votes.... |

lol... Thanks for the mixture of comments judges~ JUDGE 1:: Yearh I do notice that pitch is something that I almost treat as the most important thing in singing. The reason is because when you listen to a professional recording, it is vital that almost all notes are pitch perfect. Notes that are off literally put me off listening to the song.. which is subjective I know X"D I think that energy/emotion comes second and will only work when pitch is spot on. Actually.. to maintain the pitch was very, very hard in the song that I'd sung =) (With all the leaps and whatnot) It is much harder than any other songs I have ever come acrosss yet. |
