OK... VOTING IS OVER!! CONGRATULATIONS HIKARI...You are the next semifinalist!! I'll be posting group 8 in a little bit. ^-^ NEWS AND UPDATES: Semifinals should start on Saturday...but I'm giving a little more time for the contestants...so the songs will be post on Monday Sept. 10th. I'm sad to announce that Zparticus has decided to leave the competition due to personal reasons...and...since Kaoru was the runner up from group 1...I'll ask him to take his place...now if he wants to...^-^ Please..semifinalists...send me your semis songs... |

@Z: Dude you're still the SOD King ehehe! Congrats to Hikari! Now here's some comments on group 8... @Luizao: I dunno if you can hit an octave higher but your performance would be nicer if you can. There were off-key notes -- work on it! @Rixena: You sounded like the original singer herself. And that's GREAT. ^^ It would be nicer if you used a karaoke version of the song for your backing track. @Mrmoon: Um... well... nice falsettos you got there. ^^ @Rk: You do have potential -- keep on practicing until you develop a solid technique in singing. There were a few flats because I think you're holding back on the high notes. From what I could hear you can reach high notes quite well - you just need to practice more. Btw it was a great rendition of Life. @Suzaku: A solid performance. Nice energy! |

Comments~ comments~ Luizao>> A very upbeat song! Think you were slightly too near to the mic which doing this song. The tune was abit off at times. Timing was good though. Personally, I feel that this song might be not very suitable for your voice. Sugarfreak>> The first impression I have was this song is suitable for your voice. Timing is perfect but you might wanna be careful at the turning points of the song... It'll be better too if you could get the karaoke ver to sing to too... cause for some reason, I feel like I'm havin trouble differentiating you and the original vocalist. . Mrmoon>> cute opening.... but one question... which is your voice? Both I presume. Is really cute to do a song like this but for competition... I think is not really suitable though personally I like it alot. You sounded abit muff on the lyrics too... And whats with the ending?? I would say this song doesn't allow you to show your voice potential (which I know you have lots). Maybe because this song was original sung by guys thus making it somewhat difficult to incorporate a female vocal but even so, you manage to put in ur emotions into the song. Good control of voice (which is especially important for songs like this) but timing was slightly off at parts~ Try choosing a song next round to allow you to portray ur voice potential fully~ |

xD just to clear it up yeah every voice is done by me as I was aable to get rid of princes voice entirely and it really sounds strange as it not my range at all xD and the ending is prince smashing his guitar on the ground |

It is good to receive comments, I appreciate them and I`ll take this and other more comments to keep improving myself in singing and getting ready for the next round, if not, then I`ll prepare myself for the karaoke competion next December in my country n_n |

i haven't written comments in a while ~ phew, had just completed a summary test today ( and it's only my 1st week back!) @Z: ?! but oh well, you'll still be the SOD king in the karaoke thread ~ so how's the student life going?^^ u sacrificed the SOD king title for it all the best in your papers! i hav a lot coming my way soon *sweatdrop* @Engel: *doki doki* all the best, semifinalist!itz 'that' song you sent in isn't it? calm down! *lights oil burner* itz rose cassis, helps you relax @Hikari: omedetto gozaimasu!! *whooosh* now prepare your next song! hooray!.. @Luizao: loud & clear, but the mic sounded too close! keep a certain distance :P & if u practise more with your intonation, things will go even better ~ i want deep low pitched voice XD guess that wouldn't happen @Rixena: you sound really into the rhythm, upbeat songs are definitely for you :P ~interesting narration about the halfway point ^^ @Mrmoon: were they both your voices? they compliment each other well, and u control the higher pitches pretty good for a guy :P @RK: you kept a solid tone throughout, but i'd like to hear more feelings in the song, and more variations in the sense of softness and loudness ~ sway with the rhythm^^ @Suzaku: nice sense of rhythm, you've also portrayed the energy in this song but i'd like to hear even more :P  |
