Hiya everyone!!!!! How ya guys been? So sorry for another long absence! I'm so sick of never having free time anymore...Here's something from me though, hope it's okay...been a while since I've been able to draw: Rebellion - Devil May Cry 4 by ~Chrono-Kira on deviantART From Devil May Cry 4, an upcoming game, showing the two main characters sort of merged into one figure stylistically. Enjoy, all rights reserved, etc....admittedly I rushed a bit on this, finishing it all flippantly over the last two days. Now then, although I would love to comment on every single piece of art...four pages worth is a bit much for tonight, so I'll just do things from this page. Please know that I looked through the gallery since I last posted, and I was constantly impressed. I was also suprised to see... @mp4c!!!!! Whoa! Hey man, it's been forever! I haven't seen you around here since early summer! How are things? Great to see your art again! @Red, Pic 1/2: Quite memorable works, love the poses and designs! @Ich, so cool, Pic 1: Awesome Jehuty edit! It looks so very stylish and I love Zone of the Enders. @Darky, Pic 1: Rin is adorable! Love her design! @Izumo, always impressive, Pic 1: I think you did a simply fantastic job with Nagisa and Fuko! Your work always has an element of motion and life, and it's very visible here. Pic 2: I love this one with Kei and Yuko! The shading work here is especially fantastic! it's a brilliantly natural piece, excellent! Pic 3: Thank you for the fan service here! What more can I say...such a cutie... Apple, great stuff, Pic 1: Sakura looks adorable here! Excellent work, and great line job. Pic 2: Mokona! I remember this guy, and he's never looked cuter, great work. @Suzaku, cool, Your Inroduction sketch is pretty interesting. Nice use of perspective and pose, very nice. @Tsze, awesome style, Pic 1: I love the characters look and pose and the overall detail of the pic. Pic 2: This singer pic oozes style, and it's really interesting to look at. @Blur, great variety, Pic 1: It's nice to see the practice element of your work. Pic 2: Your attention to the eyes rather charming, nice. Pic 3: This one is truly fantastic, I love the color and detail of this ceramic, excellent work! @goingback, Pic 1: Cute girl, with an interesting sketchy look, not bad Pic 2: Shana is sketched pretty well here. Pic 3: Stunning coloring work! T.M.'s piece looks even more impressive, excellent! @rin8, tons of art, Pic 1: Guilt na chan has an interesting Lolita look. Pic 2: The Mochi mice are absolutely adorable, love em Pic 3: Dark has a nice contrast between light tones, nice work. Pic 4: Zetsu is colored very very well, really like this one Pic 5: Sesshomaru came out quite well, great attention to detail ina rmor and body. Pic 6: I remember Trinity Blood! Great rendition of the Krusnik, love the wing detail. @Kate, pleasure to see more, Pic 1: Yagami is drawn very well, and I can't help but love you character designs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All that...imagine if I'd done all four pages...well, anyway, I hope to see all of you again soon...whenever that may be...until next time, best of luck and see ya guys very soon! |

Thought I should comment, so here it is. @Kate: I love the expression on his face!!! @Rin8: For some reason, I'm attatched to the mice. I dunno why. @ Blurrie: The pictures are so cute~! @Tsze: I love the pose in both of your pictures! plus the girls are very nice~. I know, I should go get a thesaurus and look up nice. And now, I shall post another weird pic.  The point of this picture was to test my coloring skill, so I know its pretty impossible to hold a gun like that, nor a gun like that would probably exist. I was too lazy. XP. The hair came out a bit messy... The stupid pic had like 80 layers. Not fun. OK, I'll shut up now. |

Wow!! I see lot's of great art, as always, and did I spot-- IZUMO!? Great to have you back again, Izumo-san. ^__^ Your art will forever be an inspiration to me~. I'm afraid I don't have time nor energy to comment on every individual work that I missed, but I will gladly post a brief few words on the last ten entries displayed on my screen. Mr. Mushroom:: Fantastic colouring practice!! You did an incredible job on this piece, in my opinion. Whether or not guns such as those doesn't matter at all~~ Ru-chan:: Yeaahhh, I saw this work on dA and commented.~ I love the style of it, and I can't wait to see more!! Kate:: Your drawing of Yagami Sai is completely oozing with style!! I love the colour and side-story. It makes me interested to read your story~ X3 Darky:: Great job of colouring TM's piece!! The style that you have reminds me of Beck!! Mongolian Chop Squad. Very stylish~ Your oekaki are also very kyaute. X333 rin8:: Wow, you've definitely been busy!! Although all of your pieces are great, I really like "Sesshoumaru" and "The Crusnik". I can tell that an insane amount of work went into these two from the amount of detail and quality of shading. Get ready for a colorful array!!! ********************************************* @ Tsze-san No they do not suck!! - First of all i like the perspective aspects in your first pic. There is also some mighty fine detail in it as well. - The 2nd one is some very nice line art as well....again nicely detailed...it stands out. @ Blur-san It is good to do some random doodles to get ideas for future drawings...sometimes when you doodle something it'll turn out pretty good. - your painting is really pretty...i remember doing something like that in my schooldays way back when...unfortunately for me i'm not as careful as yourself...*sigh* @ Darky-san I see you also did some random sketches! - YES!!! that is what i was talking about....WONDERFUL!!! love your ideas for these Fate characters...very cute! - Shana looks good for a doodle as well! - Gr8 coloring job on TM's pic! @ rin8-san okay lets see what i can see.... - Since i use pencil the majority of the time i appreciate others who use the same thing. Your pencil drawings are quite good...though as you know there is always room for improvement. You have some nice imagination...your caligraphy is better than mine thats for sure XD. If you like to smooth your shading abit more you can use something like a tissue paper & gently rub your lines to give it a smoother look. Just an idea i use often. @ Ich-san Well you are welcome....but i was being honest when i said what i said. It is nice that you admire others...it is a great compliment to those. I feel really honored...that you feel that way about my art. But remember love your own art as well....feel good about what you've done cause from all the art i've seen from you, you should be very proud of them. Hmm. I know it's kinda rude for me suddenly pop out asking question, but i had been wanted to ask for a long long time. well here goes... 1. i had been trying hard to draw myself a picture of a girl. anyone i think of. the problem is, you see i can't manage to draw different kind of face here. How can i manage to draw different kinda of face? wat made the face of human different to be look of. Even if i got a face that was drawn, well how can i manage to draw a excate face again, everytime when i try to draw the same face, the face jus don't look the same f rom the previous one. 2. And what is the basic of learning to draw anime? i tried to search online and i jus manage to get some info about anime drawing. Amature of course. Any basic technic for me to learn? 3. And one more question. Why can't i draw a proper and good looking anime??? i can't draw one even i practice practice all time. I am really frustrated when i want to draw one, thinking that the picture will be not looking so good. XXXX.. sorry a bit rude there. |

@ Vincent-san First of all don't worry about asking questions....we here are all trying to improve our skills & looking for how to do so. As for your questions....some pretty difficult ones at that...i don't know about the others but i'll try to answer them from personal experience. 1: If you are trying to do fanart of certain anime girls & not sure how to put your own take/style on the character try using a 'reference' pic like something from a magazine or any kind of picture you can find of that character. Use the reference to get the face & look of the specific character. It may not come out right just like that...it may take some hard work & practice to achieve what you are looking for. - Most anime faces (female) look the same...to make them look different is usually in the positioning of the eyes & features of the face. The hair style of the characte can also change the look of the character. If you have taken any life art classes you can use those techniques to help. For example to change the features of the face try using facial lines to see where you want the features to be. Once you get use to knowing where/how you want the face to look you won't need those lines anymore. - Do some rough doodles & sketches of how you want the character to look like before deciding on how you finally want it to look like. 2: There are many styles/ways to draw anime. If you've taken life drawing than you are basically ready. Anime style uses basic drawing skills...like body proportions, facial features, perspective...etc...the fundamentals of drawing. Creativity is also a nice skill to have when drawing anime. Again you can use reference pictures from anywhere to learn how to draw characters....before adding your own style to them. Backgrounds & scenery can be anything from cityscapes, countryside...anything you see outside a window. I started out drawing stick people...when i was about 5 or so...i'm now in my late 20's so it has take me years to reach where i'm at now...yet still i have ways to improve. 3: Drawing takes hard work, dedication & alot of practice. It doesn't come to you right away (unless you're gifted). Take some classes to improve what skills you already have. Zone in on one skill you are good at whatever it may be (scenery, body, facial....anything) & use it as your advantage. All the other fundamentals of drawing is not to be so serious in what you are trying to do....relax...have some fun with it. It is okay to make mistakes & mess up once in awhile. Try not to get flustered or upset that something you are drawing doesn't look right. Confidence in your abilities is very important....you have to believe you can do it. Trust me...getting down on yourself is not good at all. Have fun with it....take your time....trust your abilities & work hard to achieve what you want to do. Post some of your drawings regardless of what you think of them....nobody here will care if it isn't good or not. We are not here to bash or put down anyone....we're here to give out our own points & how to improve if need be. Show us what you have than maybe we can give advice on how to change anything.... |

@izumo refereces izzit? well i have done several pic wit that and i am not really satisfied wit that. My school is not open yet until chinese new year is open, so i'll have to scan the picture next time. next week i think. now in my photobucket i have some earlier version. I had post up here b4 i think in the 4th edition i think, but i'll let you guys see 1st. THis one is when i tried to imitate yakumo.. which i think i failed to do so. (*ps is it in html code or img?) and i will tried to change their face as you have suggested. And i'm not gived, obviously. And i can't take art class here. we here didn't provide anime drawing class. Even when there's one i think. It's consider college where they take manga drawing seriously. That mean they choose their path as manga drawer seriously. But i can't cause i was in college too. and i'm in enginner course. I tried to find a people who know how to draw well and i failed you see. so i practice drawing myself. here's some more when i tried to draw same person which made doesn't turn to be what i wanted.    forget about this. i tried b4 to draw human body..ll-_-   |

Hey everyone! How's it going! New art from me, here: FFXIII - Lightning Strikes by ~Chrono-Kira on deviantART It's from Final Fantasy 13, featuring the main character Lightning shooting something... Now then, @Mr. Mushroom, Pic 1: Although the link's broken for the image, I saw it earlier and thought it was done quite well! The coloring effort was top-notch, and the character was actually pretty stylish. @Eureka, thanks for the comments! Pic 1: Although I commented already on this, allow me to repeat: this looks awesome, I love how your style's evolved, keep it up! @Ich, thanks a lot! Pic 1: I would expect nothing short of something wonderful from you, and this new pic is incredible! I love the artistic style you employed (Eureka 7 I think?) and the coloring work simply adds to its beauty. Very cool. @Darky, lol, oh sorry for that. Thanks for the comments too! Pic 1: Very cute chibi work here, I love the smoking character's look. Pic 2: Even more dynamic piece here, and the camera-guy in the back has a priceless expression. Pic 3: Ai is drawn in a really interesting way, it kind of resembles an old school carving, and that's pretty cool. Great work here! @GTHG, welcome! Pic 1: The neko characters here are really cute, with a charming motif with the puppets too. Great coloring work as well! Pic 2: Good rough sketch, nice profile work. Pic 3: Very well done coloring piece here! There's a great deal of activity and life visible, and its done quite beautifully. Pic 4: I love how serene this one is, the apple tree scene is very beautiful. Pic 5: I like this character's peaceful look. Pic 6: This one's actually pretty charming, great joke with the fan. Love the randomness! @Suzaku, Pic 1: I remember this one from DA and commented, but it's really cool! Great job! @Izumo, thanks for your words, I couldn't appreciate them more! @Vincent, there's nothing I can add to what Izumo said. Keep it up and practice! Life is long and you'll only get better. It amuses me to go back to the earlier thread and see how different my art looked back then. You'll be surprised how quickly your skills will improve with Izumo's advice. Pic 1: I actually like this one a lot. You're fantastic at poses, but only need to practice on facial expressions. It's one of the hardest elements of drawing, but I can already see improvements. Pic 2/3: Both faces are actually not bad at all. I'm happy to see the guide lines implemented here. The face looks quite fine especially for someone trying it for the first time. Pics 4/5/6: Once again, good facial detail. Once you're comfortable doing faces, trying to find and get inspiration from an artist whose art you admire. My personal fave is, for instance, is Takeshi Obata. After a while, you'll be able to find a style that you love. Pic 7: Great realism, the hand looks quite impressive! Pic 8: Once again, excellent body work and the face is improving. Pic 9: The eye detail is showing here, great work. After having seen these, the only thing needed for improvement is practice and dedication. Think positively and draw patiently. Great artist don't draw masterpieces when they begin, so don't belittle your work. @ROQ well then, i'll follow his advice and try to draw facial first. but one more question, how u guys can manage to keep the face symatrical like err not look strange. wat is the guide for you to draw a face, like me i use the round shape first then draw out the outline. i think it's not so useful though. so if you guys have tips, pls tell me some. thanks |

Where did this come from? Ich? Wow!" I was blown away! *eats you* By the way, VERY nice legs! I'd kill for a pair of those! *rips them off her & replaces her own legs with sexy new ones* Right, where was I? ^3^ Love ya! @ everyone: Sorry I haven't been around much. I haven't really done anything & I've just kinda been down, but I'm good now! Actually, I'm working on a comic that'll be appearing around March, that is if I can make a cover page & three pages of finished content for my web comic club. I have Ocs that until now I can't reproduce properly XD when I draw face I start with a circle.. then well actually the same process you do XD @ROQ: already saw that, awesome!! @Ninjasoup: ZOMG nice pic!! you rule!! webcomic you say?
