Heh, i've been watching ninomiya for a bit... although hasn't finished it yet. Gotta say it's funny sometimes, but mostly stupid. As for others that finished airing and i watched: Kodomo no Jikan - interesting in a way, sometimes funny... but child-ecchi... too much. Sola (Dvd 2 finished recently) - Well, all i can say is that Sola's great :) Come to think of it, that's about it. Most of what i'm watching either old, or unfinished. Well, what i'd like to discuss is: Sola, Video Girl Ai, Digi Charat Winter Garden, Clannad, Tokimeki Memorial Only Love, Zero no Tsukaima, Triangle Heart(wanna hear about the game), Nanatsuiro Drops, Ai Yori Aoshi, Kimagure Orange Road, Love Hina, Air, ToHeart, ToHeart 2, Nagasarete Airantou, Shuffle! Well, any of them'd do :) |

Okay, Zpart wants to know about Myself; Yourself a bit here. I'll just relay my personal thoughts on how the anime went for me. Okay, first off, the series is great. I love the cast, it's a nice, calm, and soothing anime, and pretty relaxing. At certain moments though, it reminded me of School Days during the middle of the anime. It's NOT like School Days at all, and Sana is your average High School kid. Mostly, this anime is a pretty normal type school-drama anime. Can almost be like everyday life, but it gets pretty emotional during certain moments. The girls for this series are really cute. And if you're talking about Mayu's "size", wait until you see little Aoi-chan's! O.O` The first episode I think is them when they were kids. Then after that, I think later you see the current present day of the anime, with Sana returning home and seeing Aoi for the first time. Even he was really surprised; he couldn't stop... noticing. =>.<= The other girls are great. A lot to choose from. You'll really adore Hinako; I absolutely loved her when it was like her "arc", so-to-speak. Yuzuki-sensei is pretty cute, physically and mentally and she really plays a big role in her students' lives. There's Hoshino, a girl I thought was gonna hook up with Sana. Nanaka was probably my top favorite, closely followed by Hinako or Shuri. The crazy old lady during the middle of the anime is totally 'School Days'... she freaks you out~! Now, the only thing I really didn't like was how it ended. It was great, and I loved it more and more as it went along. As the final episode came along... my love for the anime "dropped" a bit, cause I was shocked about how the ending went. To me, I think one more episode, or SOMETHING can finally finish it correctly, but... *sigh* About School Days, if you're a girl in love your mind can be very... confusing. Her emotions at times got the best of her, but I still loved her best out of the entire cast. And yes, she is shy, although later when she's on the bus with Makoto, she puts his hand on her thigh. She whispers something in his ear or tells him something about coming over to her house. This was during the part of the anime where he was trying to get rid of her... friggin' little... ------- |

Dunno... since probably most people here never watched toheart, ai yori and digi charat winter garden, then i suppose either zero or shuffle. Come to think of it, shuffle and kanon 2002 were two anime, that got me into more active watching. Or actually, from kanon 2002 i somehow heard of shuffle, then watched it. Man, i envy Rin's guts. Although some people hate him, i'm impressed that he was able to save everyone of them. Especially in Asa's case... like hell i'd be able to force myself to do the same :) Well, this's quite often met in romances, that main guy has to do something that's hard for him to save someone. Like in nanatsuiro drops, or kiminozo :) And i think Rin made a great choice - Asa's way better than Kaede :) Personally i'd choose from her or Primura :) Anyway, i still can't understand why some people hate the guy... i even saw Kill Kill Rin-kun club once :) Maybe they're just envious? :D |

well for me rin is a perfect main hero for all that i've seen in romance anime, if you don't count the toheart main guy, because he didn't do anything, oh and probably lamune main guy also why ?? because if you take notice every main guy in romance anime has personality issue, i.e. makoto (school days), (saikano), (myself;yourself), etc i mean that most of it depict as the guy of indecisive, truly, but the indecisive for most romance anime can be, well hurts the gals there for rin, he remain true until the last and in the end he made a really brave choice to help asa. i really like rin char. well for once i thought they going to put kaede and rin together but what a surprise he was put together with asa that we hardly seen in the anime ^^ for toheart.... well they just mean to be for one another as well for lamune FYI i'm going away for about 3-4 days so see ya later guys |

Dunno, as for me i kinda suspected he'd end up with Asa :) But you're right - so far, he's a perfect protagonist :) Can't really think toheart or lamune protagonists on the same level, because they don't really have romances in there :) Well, a bit. There are a few male characters that don't really make any decision between a lot: As you said Lamune and ToHeart's main guys, but also Takurou from Digi Charat, probably main guy from Ai Yori Aoshi (didn't finish it yet)... Oh, i think main guys in Soul Link... well, they didn't choose much if i'm correct :) |

I wonder if there are any ddL sources to get ToHeart. Doubt it, it's pretty old, cept for season two. I watched the first episode dubbed, I think last week or so. Besides how some people said certain things, especially "-chan", it was pretty good. Well, ToHeart caught my interest before. I liked the main guy from Shuffle! It's been a while since I've seen that series. ------- |

@Snake, welcome :) Now you're in my rps AND in my club :D @DA: Well, i didn't really find any ddl, but well, i torrented it and it was quite quick... so, people are still watching it. Maybe there ARE some ftp links or something, but they're hard to find. Really liked the main guy from first ToHeart. His lazy sleep-deprived character's amusing and sorta reminds myself :D Second ToHeart had some good characters (Tama-nee, Ruuko), but the main guy sucked :) And yeah, come to think of it i would want to rewatch Shuffle!... although i watched it twice already... well, Kanon 2002 i saw four times (first three episodes i saw more than thirty times), but i'd want to rewatch it too... hope they hurry with the translation to the game... And man, i really want non-hentai anime of Castle Fantasia 2 :) |

@ Moggle-san Well lets see...the OVA of Triangle Hearts is based on the 3rd game. The premise of the game is almost the same as the anime. It has been forever since i played it so i don't remember exactly how gameplay is. I may have to find the game in my collection & install it all over again to know. Anyways Triangle Hearts is more known for its spinoffs like the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series. Not really a romance series but if you like magical girls than it may be worth taking a peek. The original ToHeart series was absolutely HUGE in Japan when it first came out...probably back then the visual novel genre was dominated by ELF (which back then mainly dealt with fantasy & sci-fi stories). The player was more into the story than the characters. ToHeart was different cause it was all about the characters...encouraging the player to 'fall' for the characters. It also started the whole school dating sim craze. The player dived into the situations & problems the character are dealing with. Nowadays the majority of visual novels follow this plan....KEY for instance took it to another level. For some reason the sequel 'remember my memories' & ToHeart 2 didn't recieve the same fanfare when they were released. What else....my theory of why Rin was so hated by many..this can also be used for other characters in the same mold. It is probably of his indecision (though it will be difficult to choose between so many girls) & when he did finally choose he basically ignored everyone else. Kaede as everyone saw was having emotional/mental problems but Rin was oblivious to them...thinking only about Asa. In the end he did make amends with everyone which can't be said for other characters in the same mold (ie:Makoto). Whenever i watch series like these (harem) or any series for that matters..i tend to put myself in the characters shoes. If that is what i would've done given the same situation. Although i may have done it differently than what Rin did i understand his predicament. Nobody in the anime is at fault or to blame for anything....the situations were difficult & they managed the best they could. It is cause of this philosophy that i don't tend to HATE any character (the villians are an exception..though most are plain cool). Kimigure Orange Road was pretty good...i enjoyed it. It was a nice movie to tie all the loose ends of the TV series. That piano song Kyosuke #5 was beautiful. Kiminozo's next season volume 2 will be out in Febuary. They pushed the date back...it was originally slated for January. Video Girl Ai is really underrated...although i tend to like the manga a little better than the anime. The anime was to short IMHO. A series you should check out is 'ef ~a tale of memories~'...i only played the first game (the 2nd one is out in May)...so it was pleasant to see what happened. It was one series i didn't know what was gonna happen...playing the game only gave you an idea of what to expect. It was a beautiful love story where everyone found what they were looking for. Oh sorry that CF2 is only available as a hentai series. The only series that is based on Studio Ego! games is Izumo...which was okay but could've been so much better. There is some romance in it but it's mostly fantasy. Since the company is working on the next installment of the CF series...they may decide to turn it into an anime like they did Izumo. Since i visit the site often i'll update you on the developments. Anything else i can talk about...any other romance series to look for....well currently there are: - True Tears - H2O ~footprints in the sand~ I have to take a look at my archives to see if there are older series that may be interesting for young-ins to see. That should be good for now.....*phewwww* |

@Suzaku: You're welcome of course... Yeah, and forget about msn - don't send it if you're not using it :) @Izumo: Jeez, you're telling ME about Lyrical Nanoha? :D It's my favorite anime after all :D ToHeart kinda reminds me of Tokimeki Memorial game series btw :) And i can't really say that Rin was either indecisive or that he completely ignored other characters... after all, it's not like he completely abandoned them all :D In a way, he gave them time to forget him or something like this - they're still after him :D As for KOR - my father's a fan of both it and a song from there "Golden Hill Road"... and yeah, it's kinda good :) Video Girl Ai... i agree - it's TOO short... i'd prefer like... 60 more episodes :D Youta kinda reminds myself :) And by the way, can you recommend any good old romance anime? |

@ Moogle-san Well i agree that Rin wasn't purposely trying to ignore the other character (love can do that to you)....it was during that time when we the viewers can see that Kaede was about to break emotionally/mentally that Rin failed to realize what was going on. Remember when he was playing PONG & Kaede was talking to him...he didn't hear a single word of it. It was only when the phone rang that he became excited. I guess that was what i was trying to get at. Overall Rin is a very good main character for a harem series. Like i said nobody was at fault & they did the best they could to cope with what was given to them. The original Orange Road was a nice series to see at least once...one of the earlier love triangles i've seen in anime. Didn't realize Hikaru was going to grow up looking the way she did (YOWZA!). WOW! it's your dad's fave?! Well i don't see why not...it was a very good anime back then....& still is i figure. Well ToHeart for the most part started the whole school dating sim genre...series/games like Tokimeki, Kakyuusei, Da Capo etc...all are sort of in the same mold as ToHeart. As for some examples of some more old/current romance series that some may find wortwhile....here is a list i made of a few. My Dear Marie (OVA) - funny & cute...surprisingly good. Girl from Phantasia (OVA) - cute one-shot..a nice ending song to boot. Please Save My Earth (OVA) - my friend did one of the voices here (Ted Cole)...sort of romance..more dramatic though. Pia Carrot 2 DX (OVA) - retelling of the hentai ver. of Pia Carrot 2 (without the nekkidness). Angel Sanctuary (OVA) - again more dramatic than romance...still worth seeing once. Kakyuusei 2 (TV) - there are many versions of this series (hentai & non H)...same idea as Tokimeki & ToHeart...School Love. Kasimasi ~Girl Meets Girl~ (TV) - haven't seen all the episodes yet..half way through...kinda yuri..more of friendships. Windaria [Once Upon a Time] (Movie) - oldie classic...about forbidden love between 2 nations. Urusei Yatsura (TV + OVA + movie) - LUM!!! what more can be said!!! UFO Princess Valkyrie (TV + OVA) - may not be everyones cup of tea but still a cute series. Futakoi (TV) - childhood friendship & love Futakoi Alternative (TV) - for me personally i liked this series more than the original...funny at times yet emotional as well. Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku wo ~Youkoso Tsugumi Ryouhe~ (TV) - strange it didn't do that well on air...again a series to see if you like school romances. Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu (OVA) - one of my all-time faves...Iriya!!! a little romance, a little sci-fi, a liitle of everything in a short 6 episodes! It even has an eating contest!!! Itsudatte My Santa (OVA) - short anime from the creator of Love Hina & Negima!..the god-like Mr.Akamatsu!! Maison Ikkoku (TV + OVA + Movie) - from the same creator as InuYasha & Lum!!! what more can i say! another oldie classic! REC (TV) - short (time wise) series that has Audrey Hepburn references scattered throughout! Again very cute! Steel Angel Kurumi (TV + OVA) - another one of my faves! Kurumi ~desuu~!!! Also a little bit of everything...action, fanservice, romance, yuri, maid outfits, sailor suits, & alot of steel angels! @ Suzaku-san I guess we are diving through series like no others business....the jist of this thread is to talk about anime series that contain romance influences...in all types of form..wether they are boy & girl, girl & girl, boy & robot, boy & alien, boy & angel, demons, gods....etc...etc...etc... So what ever series that got you interested in this kind of stuff talk about it & also lend your thoughts on series that are currently airing or an older series that you remembered. The skies the limits i guess.... |

@IZUMO wow for rin well kaede is "alive" because of rin, and rin want to cut that out, well i understand his situation, i mean, how do you react that the one you care really depend on you, like you are his or her master, (all for you stuff). rin is kind and he want kaede to have her own life, not a life because of rin orange road, i have a few doubt about this title, whether should i take it or not, well mainly because the ending was a bit undone (the manga) video girl what is CF 2 ^^???? oh about triangel heart it was release for Xbox i my memories are correct, at frist i thought that this anime/game/ova are stand alone then when i want to look more info about nanoha there's said that triangel heart is a prequel or have some relation of this naime, i was kinda shock, because i now triangel heart is romance (heavy) anime and nanoha...... well BAM....BOOOM...... MAGIC CIRCLE ^^ |

@ Key-san Oooh...nice new avy! <3 Ys! Since Kaede realized that she did all that bad stuff to Rin when they were younger when all Rin was trying to do was protect her...she became absolutely devoted to him. Was it love or was it just out of guilt? I imagine Kaede truly does LOVE Rin but more in a sister/brother kind of way. I agree with you that in the end Rin wanted Kaede to live for herself & not for Rin's sake. I just didn't like the fact that when Kaede was about to break Rin didn't realize what was happening...all he was fixated on was his relationship with Asa. Like i said love can blind you to the simplest of things. For Orange Road...if you don't wanna see the TV series i suggest checking out the OVA...you don't really need to know about the story cause the OVA sort of has flashbacks & explains a little what happened in the TV series. It ties all the loose ends nicely. Again i thought the manga version of Video Girl Ai was much better than the anime...the anime was too compressed (which for me ruins things)...although it was still a good watch. It is one i can only watch once...not something i see again & again. I recommend the manga more so than the anime. CF2 is my abbreviated way of saying Castle Fantasia 2. It is originally a ero game made by Studio Ego!....characters drawn by the incomparable Kazue Yamamoto-san! There was a hentai anime made for the game but Moogle-san wants to see a more mainstream version for it. Nanoha is an alternate reality for Triangle Hearts...it mostly has nothing to do with the actual story of Triangle Hearts. It is only the same in designs & names of characters. Triangle Hearts is mostly dramatic suspense with a little of romance in it. Nanoha well...like you explained so nicely is your everyday magical girl series. |
