MP3 player owners come here!
|
I'm still in the stone age and unfortunately do not own an MP3 player. I need advice on what brands are the best and what good prices would be. *Sorry* |

Toshiba gigabeat is the best. Price 190$ for 20 gigs memory. Durability is good. Has a screen and pics are uploadable. Easy to use. Good sound quality. Good volume levels. Easy uploading songs off your computer. |

Personally, I don't need 20 gigs for my music; 256 mb is more than enough. On eBay, there is a somewhat unofficial company that makes MP3 players which have this stuff here for $40: 256 MB capacity FM Radio Built-in USB (the thing you use for putting the songs on) Recorder (like a tape recorder) 7-color backlight, and you can choose any one color for the default one if you like Tempo rate increase and decrease Lots of other mostly useless but cool stuff In any other store, something like that'd go for at least $100. |

I'm with Sachiel....i don't need a 40Gb or 20GB or even a 5GB player....i don't need 10000 songs! I'll stick with my Sandisk 1GB player & it's not even full. When i buy a MP3 player it needs a radio....if not than i won't buy. Specs: 1GB memory FM radio (10 presets) USB cable & slot (of course) Voice Recorder (never use it though) Backlight (can change time) Equalizer adjustment (bass/tempo/etc.) Lanquage setting Carrying case/neck strap (again not used) Uses 1 AAA battery (10hrs more if Radio only) cost: got it on sale for $99.99 Cdn...which is about $88.00 US |

Boo ipod. Tis mucho expensive. I never had one, but the rumors going around about it are bad. I should have bought the 40gig. (my 20gig is filled up already.) However I want to emphasize one thing if you are into anime music. That is the value of a screen that can show pictures. You may say that why the hell would you need pictures to listen to music. However, it is truly great. I organize all my music into different folders sorted by whatever anime they are from. Whenever I play music, the pic of whatever anime the music comes from appears. This is great. When I bought mine I never though I would be using pics, but it is really great having them pop up when ever I play a song. It would be like the background of your computer changing to whatever anime you are watching. I love the pic option. |

iPod. period. easiest-to-use player out there and easily better sounding than most of the players i've tried (a few Zens and iRivers, and all flash players). if you are in a "designated" institution by apple, then you get 10% off apple products (e.g. a 5th gen, 30 GB ipod = $269 US). if you need a HD based player [if you have lots of songs or and/or you plan on ripping your cd's at a higher quality bit rate (apple lossless in my case)] get at least an ipod nano. if you can only afford a flash based player (<1 GB) get something with a screen (don't buy the ipod shuffle! unless you don't care for a screen). also, if you have songs with text in kanji/kana/*insert your language here* make sure your player can display this! (many flash players display one language only..) whatever player you get, you should throw away the sickly stock earbuds that come with the player and get yourself some decent headphones! |

I would have to say the Creative Zen Micro. They're very versatile and can go for about $180. |

I personally like the iPod Shuffle best - it's true it doesn't have a screen, but you can always tell within the first couple seconds what song you're listening to, so it hasn't been a problem for me. Moreover, no LCD screen saves a lot of money and increases durability (I've dropped mine like seventy or eighty times on concrete-or-similar surfaces and the thing still works.) It also only costs $100 for the 512MB version or $130 for the 1GB. And iPods just look cooler -.- I hate those big fat mp3 players... But, one thing to notice is that iPods don't play .WMV >_< which means you can mostly only buy music online from the iTunes store, and if you want to play that music on your PC, you'll have to play it with iTunes, which grabs a lot of system resources and doesn't have an easy playlist option like Winamp or WMP. I always buy the actual CDs, though, so this isn't an issue for me. Another thing to consider is whether or not your MP3 player supports subscription services - for instance, for 7 dollars a month, you can subscribe to Yahoo! Unlimited and listen to anything in their collection as long as you're subscribing. This option only works for a few players, however, and none of them are iPods. That's my $0.02. Plus change. Thanks for the advice and opinions. They seem a bit mixed and I might be even more confused for which MP3 brand I would buy from ^^. ipod, iriver, creative etc. I just want something that can hold over 2000 songs and doesn't cost like $500 Canadian. I want something that doesn't go through batteries like my truck goes through gas *tee hee* and something that's really durable and has more than a 12 month warranty on it. Basically I don't want a piece of crap that busts as soon as I take it home and holds a hell of a lot of songs. Thanks for your time. I really appreciate it ^^. |

I want that zen vision now, its expensive though. Once my current mp3 player dies and the price for that one drops I am gonna get that. I mean it plays video, aka anime! I couldn't find the 170$ one there. |

Sure these MP3's are although expensive depending on the brands available. Oh, I have one so I'm taking care of it because my money will run out again if my MP3 player will crash down. |
