i wonder, too. because i've been trying to decide which of 3 games to buy for my new nintendo ds, and ff4 is one of the 3 games i'm deciding upon.

I've never played FF4, but I know it's a great game!

What are the other two games?

the other 2 are kingdom hearts: chain of memories and final fantasy 1 & 2. i'd buy all 3 but i don't want to spend so much money all at one time. the final fantasy games weren't priced anyway, so i dunno how much they cost. >_< i've always wanted to play the earlier final fantasy games. and i want to get chain of memories because i loved the ps2 game. and they say it's a continuation of that game. and i'm definitely going to get kh2, so i'm wondering if i would miss much of the story from not playing chain of memories?

well i dont own a game boy but if you have a ps you could save a lot by playing ff1,2 and 4 on ps1...ff4 is on ff chronicles with chrono trigger and ff1 and 2 are called anthology...

Of the three, the best deal is Final Fantasy 1 and 2. I have FF1 and 2 and Kingdom Hearts: CoM. KH is great, but it's mostly a flashback until the very end, so it's not terribly necessary...also in KH2, there are gonna be flashbacks for those who didn't play the GBA version the first time, so don't worry too much about it. Final Fantasy 1 and 2 are both great, so is FF4. In terms of money though, getting 2 complete games is a better deal than one...it's up to you though...

Just to tell you, KH:CoM doesn't go through all the levels in KH for the PS2 and FF1 and 2 are diffrent from the origionals, but if you beat FF2, you can unlock a different quest called "The Lost Souls", I think. And how much was FF4 when you went to buy it?

alrighty then. i guess i'll get 1 (or both, depends on how much they cost and if i can find them again) of the final fantasy games.

any other suggestions on what gb games to get? while i was deciding on what to pick from those 3 games, i was also looking at a gb remake of the first zelda nes game. i wasn't fortunate enough to have played it while i had the nes, so if anyone has any feedback, it'd be appreciated. ^_^

Zelda's awesome too! Which nes Zelda? The original one or A link to the past? Both are great, Link to the Past is awesome and has the best multiplayer mode ever: Four swords. The original nes Link is a classic and pretty nice too.

All the games you're talking about are 30 dollars each(I'm pretty sure). Basically, one's more modern and with a better story and the other is a combination of two great games. Tough choice, but as I said, it's up to you...

Personally Final Fantasy IV is my fave in the series even more so than the latest adaptations. I already played every version of the game from the SNES (FF 2)...to the PS (FF:chronicles)...so do i really wanna pick up the GBA version just for a few new extras....

HELL YEAH!!!!!

Don't need it, I already have FFIV on NES cartridge, and disc format on the Playstation.

To zparticus..^^

If you check out SquareEnix's japanese website it'll show all the new stuff...new dungeons...enemies (one screen shot showed your party fighting 24 eniemies!!!...must be a "cave of trial" dungeon)....you can use palom & porom in later stages....a monster list...etc.

I have my copy already....i LOVE this game!!!

As a response to your earlier comment on Square-Enix not releasing FFIII, they actually are planning on it for a summer, I think, release on the Nintendo DS.

To zparticus...^^

I read that in the GBA version there are a some changes from the original here is a list of them

1) End game content added including 2 new dungeons (a 50 level random "cave of trials"...& Lunar Ruins on guess what the Moon ^^)

2) new quicksave feature

3) retranslated script & new dialogue sequences

4) new intro sequence

5) Near the end of the game, characters who were inaccessible in the original will now be able to be switched out in place of the original end-game party.

6) new items including new final weapons for every character

7) a new bestiary listing enemy encountered in game

8) graphics touched up including new character faces by Mr.Amano-san

So in the PS version you can't get Palom & Porom....sorry.If you can finish the PS version you can easily finish the GBA version....the PS version is the "hardcore" version this is based on the original japanese FF IV...Hope this answers your questions....Right now in the GBA version i'm already at the Land of the Summons...ahhh brings back memories....know everything from heart!
