I suppose as long as there is a signature thread and there are so many questions I'll post the policy. Avas are ~100px long and limited to 25px high. Sigs may not be more than 100px long with a reccommended length of 400-500px. The total file size for both may not exceed 100kb. The reason for this is so our members who still have dial-up can load pages at a reasonable speed. It is also suggested that if your image host supports the use of thumbnails that they be used instead of the full sized graphic. Many new members join and place incorrect sizes avas and sigs without knowing our policies. We, the mods, generally remind new members and thank you for your apologies when you respond. To insert a picture or graphic in your signature: <img src="http://ImageHostName/directory tree/filename.ext" height="XX" align="absmiddle"> Where: Height="25" for avas and Height="100" for sigs. I hope that helps. I suppose oy could also test your sigs in this thread as well. Please post your comments or questions if your have any. ![]() |

i've been wondering this for a long time, but have been forgetting to ask... in the faqs it states that the sigs cannot be more than 100 pixels in height. now, what is meant by that? does that mean the whole signature can't be more than 100px? or just the images? because i've noticed many people with images in their sigs that are exactly 100px but then they also happen to have words/links/sentences/etc. underneath. so, technically, wouldn't their sigs be more than 100px in height? |

I think that rule is just for images, however I want to know what the rules are if you have multiple images in your signature. If you have 20 images all stacked up, but none of them go over 100 px each, but altogether end up way more then 100, what happens then? |

The height limits is for images only. As far as I know there is no limit for width. Avas are limited to about 100px wide due to space limitations in the title bar. The height limitation is there because Gendou-sama said so. Ava height limits are for the same reason. to try to keep the file sizes down. Typically a good size for a sig is 100px high and 400-500 wide limited to a single image file. Personally I would suggest 2 images, 1 sig, 1 ava ,as we have discussed. There is really no reason for more than one and it's good practice for art design. ![]() |

I'm only using one in my sig, and it helps out my text, which in turn helps out the images ^_^ It's even better than recycling! I'm a little worried about my length, though... it's 767 px X_X Maybe I could do some trimming of some sort... T.T I like it the way it is... X_X T.T |
