I was just thinking... Anime and J-pop is so popular in America, why not make a radio station dedicated to J-pop? Reply your thoughts, if you want... |

A good idea, but you can find that well enough with internet radio that I don't think anyone would bother actually starting a real radio station for J-pop in this day and age. There may be a lot of people who like J-pop in the US now, but I don't think it's anywhere near enough to constitute a radio station in most major cities, especially when you compare it to most other genres of popular music in the US; there may be a lot of fans, but what you really need is a lot of percentage. |

there's a japanese music radio station: japan-a-radio. it's america's leading online radio staion for japanese pop and rock. buuut, it may be going off the air soon if they don't receive enough money by the end of the year. here are 2 posts made by members of my myspace japanese music group: "Japan-A-Radio, America's leading online radio station for Japanese Pop And Rock will be shutting down permenantly on December 31st 2005 if they do not recive the equivilant of 5 dollars each from about 600 listeners each month. The owner says there is no way to make money to run this kind of station and he no longer has any money of his own to keep it up. Everyone who works for Japan-A-Radio is a volinteer work because they enjoy it. listening to Japan-A-Radio is free and it is commercial free. In the internet you can listen j-pop on live365... but you should be registred... it's free but there aren't many station only if you pay :( Another option is in the winamp... there you can see the j-pop videos it's a good option if you have a fast internet__:) |

I'm no american, but there's a radio show in my country that aired twice a week each for 2 hours, playing J-Music and review anime. It has large number of fans. Fanatic ones. But a very own radio station for J-music? Beats me. Anyway, there are several j-music radio on the internet. J-fan.com for instance. |
