pokemon obsession is it live and well?

I think pokemon will be around for a very long time. Question is will people be obsessed with it? I think I'm a little obsessed with the game. Is anyone still obsessed with the games or is it just me?

I used to be totally in love with the game, but now I don't like it. And it seems the craze overall has died down, too.

I used to be into it too, but you move on.

Personally I don't think it'll ever be as popular as it was in the past, they've milked it too much.

It was also completely different over here, kids hadn't seen this type of thing before, now it has to compete with similar games and anime.

I still like the games, and I still watch the anime. I've stuck with Pokemon since it first aired in the U.S., and I'm 20 now. The craze may have died down, but that's what happens with anything popular. After a while, it's just not popular anymore..... Though in about 20-30 years, it may become popular again. :P

Okay, piece of trivia that should answer your question.

In Japan, both the Full Metal Alchemist Movie and the Eigth Pokemon movie was released on the same day.

So, who topped the box office?

POKEMON.

Which shows that Pokemon is not dead and still tops an anime like Full Metal Alchemist

There's 8 movies now.......

Damn, they really have milked it too much.

I love the games and I still watch the anime, but I don't collect the cards anymore...

I was really into the cards.
I still see others talking about it and sometimes playing the gameboy game.
I think it started declining after they started coming out with some that didn't have to much thought put into them.

The next witty thing I think of and remember will likely end up here.

Well lets see how many points there are that show it could die

1)The card game was really great when it was first released but it died down just shortly afterwards in a few years
2)Not a very big group of people truly still watch the series on the tv in america anymore even though some still do

How many points are there to show that it's not going to die

1)It has been running for quite a while now. Lets see, there's about 7 or 6 championship tournament thing for it such as the Jhoto League and the Hoen League.
2)8 movies! I didn't even know there was an eigth movie till today.
3)The games for the gameboys sell quite a bit when realeased
4)Many people still relish the card series and will buy them for a lot of money
5)Many of the voices of the main characters have remain on the show and still come in on occasion to voice in for characters. Such as Misty in the english version of Pokemon. She left. Came back after the Hoenn League, then left again.

Conclusion
Pokemon will very likely not die. I don't think this list is well finished but it's good enough. Still, it has gone on for a good time and all good things must come to an end such as Futurama and The Simpsons

Pokemon is still Nintendo's top selling game for it's handhelds, so I wouldn't say it has dim down in popularity. Sure the wild craze is gone, but the fans are still here. ;)

lol, this is funny. This doesn't show that Pokemon can top an anime like Full Metal Alchemist, this just shows that there are way more nieve card playing kids out there willing to waste their money (Or parent's money) on little cardboard cutouts with pictures on them. There are more younger kids like that than older ones, that's the main reasons those movies beat out or compete with others, not because their actually well done or better done than others.

Pokemon was a big hit and popular before, but it's not so much now. Like all of these kinds of shows and games they die out rather quickly. I gave up watching the show after season 1, gave up playing the games at Gold version since they were all the same thing over and over.

Im a big fan of monsters and I like alot of the pokemon ones,
so I hope it keeps going ^_^

I think the last game I played was saphirre( i think i spelled its wrong) cause i got it cheap XD

I used to watch the show a long time ago but ehh its basically the same show over and over:

team rocket tries to catch pikachu or some other pokemon ash stops them then they blast off AGAIN.

Light and Dark

Wait, they're still making new versions?
Even today, I see like two pokemon shows on TV; one with Ash's real voice and the other show... without, which I found weird? -_-'

There is no way that Pokemon can overall, top an anime such as Fullmetal Alchemist. >.>

Also, Pokemon is easily predictable if you ever watch it and Ash is a lame pokemon trainer who'll only become a pokemon master because the creators made it that way.
He has absolutely no skill...

But, if the kids like it, then that's good for them, but don't compare the two animes together since they're completely different.

I admit, I did used to play the games all the time back when I was "younger", but like Jon said, the games continue to release with the same old stuff and I eventually stopped...

The New Pokemon games for DS have WiFi, so that's definetly a big change to note.

Also competitive Pokemon is really deep and challenging and fun too. :)

I'm still totally into it. The show is becoming worse it seems, and it is no longer on the channel I wathced it on, so I can't see it anymore, but I still love everything about it.

I can't wait for Diamond and Pearl. Hopefully I can face more than my friends (who suck at video games).

And I completely agree: Ash is an idiot. "Oh let's get rid of Charizard!" "lets get rid of Butterfree" "lets get rid of Lapras"

What a retard...

The games are still some of the better RPGs (though most RPGs are good) And I'll get all of the new games that come out.

Ash also got rid of all of his Pokemon when he went to Hoenn, right? XD

But yeah, I don't play the cards, I don't collect the figures, I don't watch the anime. The games are fun to pick up every once in awhile at least. (Cinnibar Island MissingNo for infinite Master Balls! XD)

Ahhhhhh!

Some pokemon are beginning to look like Digimon a bit.
Also, is that one couple of Team Rocket was it, still around?
I think one of the names was James.
Oh, Jesse and James.
They've been around since day one of the series...
Also, they're immortal. (x.x)
