A Fleeting Dream The rising sun rest peacefully, the people worship to the gods, cultivate the land bringing prosperity, the warriors of loyalty fight through the war on the command of their emperor. Animals roam freely hunting their prey or are hunted themselves; such is the cycle of life. However, chaos falls upon the land of the Rising Sun. Emperors overthrown by the new governments, swords replaced by heavy artillery from the western countries. The new era overpowered the old like a plague, no sooner or later alien like features to the Nihon people arrive at the shore of the land of the Rising sun; their features are distinguished with pale white skin, hair like the golden sun, eyes blue like the depth of the sea. The Japanese called them, demons. The Japanese was overpowered and have no chance in winning a fight that they cannot win. Time changes, samurai were forced to be part of the new government and become policemen, if they refuse, they are to abandon their swords and live an ordinary life; though some who are not able to abandon their swords nor wish to serve the new government became bandits or rurouni. Within the late Meiji era, many young Japanese took the art of the sword and learn within the dojo, whether to become policemen when they graduated or just learn the way of the sword for fun or defence. Within this rp, you play the role of a hired mercenary, a student at the Dojo, policemen or become a rurouni/bandits. Your goal is to survive in this era, which includes the way you live. If you are confused about this era, please think of the anime Rurouni Kenshin. You will start out at the Dojo, where you will be graduating and also make your decision whether to be part of the Police force, Move on with your life without the sword, refuses and become a bandit or simply become a rurouni. This rp will be something similar to Free and Dream rp by Kenji. Information ::Meiji Era::In 1867/68, the Tokugawa era found an end in the Meiji Restoration. The emperor Meiji was moved from Kyoto to Tokyo which became the new capital; his imperial power was restored. The actual political power was transferred from the Tokugawa Bakufu into the hands of a small group of nobles and former samurai. Like other subjugated Asian nations, the Japanese were forced to sign unequal treaties with Western powers. These treaties granted the Westerners one-sided economical and legal advantages in Japan. In order to regain independence from the Europeans and Americans and establish herself as a respected nation in the world, Meiji Japan was determined to close the gap to the Western powers economically and militarily. Drastic reforms were carried out in practically all areas. ::New Government:: The new government aimed to make Japan a democratic state with equality among all its people. The boundaries between the social classes of Tokugawa Japan were gradually broken down. Consequently, the samurai were the big losers of those social reforms since they lost all their privileges. The reforms also included the establishment of human rights such as religious freedom in 1873. In order to stabilize the new government, the former feudal lords (daimyo) had to return all their lands to the emperor. This was achieved already in 1870 and followed by the restructuring of the country in prefectures. ::Reformation of Japan:: The education system was reformed after the French and later after the German system. Among those reforms was the introduction of compulsory education. After about one to two decades of intensive westernization, a revival of conservative and nationalistic feelings took place: principles of Confucianism and Shinto including the worship of the emperor were increasingly emphasized and taught at educational institutions. Catching up on the military sector was, of course, a high priority for Japan in an era of European and American imperialism. Universal conscription was introduced, and a new army modelled after the Prussian force, and a navy after the British one were established. In order to transform the agrarian economy of Tokugawa Japan into a developed industrial one, many Japanese scholars were sent abroad to study Western science and languages, while foreign experts taught in Japan. The transportation and communication networks were improved by means of large governmental investments. The government also directly supported the prospering of businesses and industries, especially the large and powerful family businesses called zaibatsu. The large expenditures led to a financial crisis in the middle of the 1880's which was followed by a reform of the currency system and the establishment of the Bank of Japan. The textile industry grew fastest and remained the largest Japanese industry until WW2. Work conditions in the early factories were very bad, but developing socialist and liberal movements were soon suppressed by the ruling clique. On the political sector, Japan received its first European style constitution in 1889. A parliament, the Diet was established while the emperor kept sovereignty: he stood at the top of the army, navy, executive and legislative power. The ruling clique, however, kept on holding the actual power, and the able and intelligent emperor Meiji agreed with most of their actions. Political parties did not yet gain real power due to the lack of unity among their members. ::JAPANESE POLICE FORCE:: A group of soldiers who partly govern the towns and cities under the order of the new government. They help to arrest criminals and keep the citizens safe. The average policemen helps stabilize the town and city, doing ordinary police work. While there is an elite group of policemen called, the police swordsmen. Their duties is to punish those who had committed severe crimes or take out wanted criminals that are deemed too dangerous. ::SWORD BAN ACT:: During the Meiji era, when the new government overthrow the emperors of the old. They decree that no one is allowed to carry swords out in the open, the only people that are allowed to carry swords are the Police swordsman and the higher up. Because of this rule, Bandits, hired mercenary hid their blade within their clothes; while some is not afraid of having it out in the open despite the rule. The only weapons that anyone is allowed to wield that close to the swords is a wooden shinkai. ::POLICE SQUADS:: The police squads are a group of police force, each assign to a certain task. Whether is assassination or tactics, each squads will carried out there task accordingly. (Think of Bleach) RULES -No god-moding or Power-play; basically do not make your character invincible dodging all attacks and attacking your opponent without missing at all. We do not want people who had a character that does that. Remember, every character in this rp is human. Skills: Kagekoze- Making use of both his blade and the sheath, he use them to attack and defend making it almost seem like he is using a dual sword. With the sheath, he would use it as a decoy and attack his opponent swiftly with his blade. However, timing is everything for this move. Shinzai Seiyuu- A dragon strike, this attack is a quick sonic movement that requires both the speed of his body and sword skill, he would swiftly attack at his enemies' chakra points, paralyzing his opponent or simply knock them out by the using the back blade of his sword. The problem with this technique to attacking precisely at that point which is consider hard to do for any ordinary swordsman. Hobbies: Drinking tea, relaxing by the riverbed, meditation. Bio: Saito was once a samurai who fought during the revolution. He is one of the main people who help created and start the Meiji era. When the revolution ended, he disappeared and vow to never kill anyone with his blade. Years later during the Meiji era, he wander into Edo as a rurouni while getting along with people of Edo. Not much is known about his past, but he is dedicated to protect the people he care for. Appearance: ::Second Character:: Name: Kiryu Minato Age: 18 Gender: Male Nationality: Japanese Sword style: Protection Weapon: Wakizashi(everyday uses) and Sakabato (Uses only to render his opponent unconscious. He mainly use this for the skill "Rushing tiger") Role: Student; aiming to be part of the police-force Personality:Soft-spoken, serene and humble. Always willing to put others before himself, both in terms of well-being and social standing. He is dedicated to his work and loyal to the government and his friends. Abilities: Nature-sense: Able to sense movement of his enemies along with nature itself, all with his heighten sense of sound. He could predict movement due to air motion, footings of the ground by his enemies and etc. Excellent endurance and stamina Excellent Tactical skills: Able to plan out his next move quickly even during a battle. Skills: Kaze no Senryuu: With quick thrust of his sword, he attacks with high speed of sonic, it looks like he only attack his opponent once. Like the name suggest, he actually attacks opponent a thousand times. However, this skills wears him out. -Average skills. Rushing Tiger: This attack send his opponent's weapon flying out of their hand while it also crack their bones or render his opponent's arm heavily bruised. This attack takes precision and strength. He would strike down his opponent holding his sword backward with both hands to give the blow more strength. He had to attack at the weakest point of his opponents arm in order to do this. This attack drains his strength and cannot be used recklessly.-Weakest. ???: this attack have yet been perfected.-strongest. Hobbies:Ink painting, training, Meditation, taking a nap on the roof. Bio: Minato had been training throughout his life at the Dojo, ever since he was 9. His goal in life is to be part of the police force and take out criminals who brings suffering to people. He wish to free people from suffering, that is his true goal. Now 18, he is about to graduate from his dojo and joined the police force. Appearance: Extra: Always has a small canary with him, which follows him around wherever he goes.

Role: Civilian | Schooler | Sword Wilder Abilities: Talented in Sword fighting | Concentration | Skills: • Tsuinburēdo no hansha Is a double attack. The initial sword draw and slash, followed by another unsuspected slash using the sealed blade. It's a simple but seemingly effective and clever technique. • Pedaru no heizu Instead of attacking with the sword first, she attack with the scabbard first, and then draw the sword and attack second. But she needs to make sure she is able to draw the sword quickly and reliably after the first hit. • ???: Her third skill is unavailable sense she never got to finish her training because of her Master's sudden disappearance. Personality: Hanabi has a straightforward and focused personality, which complements her sword fighting skills well. But under the though-guys act, rest a gentle and fragile girl. Hobbies: Meditating | Training | Gardening | Fighting Bio: Ashiya Hanabi, currently resides in the outskirts, in a small shrine called Hakugyokurou Shrine. Owned by an Old man named, Takashi Sano. Taking Hanabi under his wings when she was 5 years of age, she knows little about her parents. What is known is that she's a servant of Hakugyokurou Shrine and had begun training sense very young with Takashi Sano as her Master. When he suddenly disappeared one day, leaving her style incomplete causing her to teach herself. Hanabi trained in the arts of Swordsmanship here and there, however, not much is known about her particular style of sword fighting. Hanabi currently doesn't know Takashi Sano's whereabouts, but still, Hanabi continues to serve as best as she can, tending to the gardens in Hakugyokurou Shrine. Hanabi tends to often look like a 17 year old boy, she wants to get into a Dojo's to finally finish her Style. The image of the world looked from the eyes of Takashi Sano for her is that she should not be Sword fighting, thats why Takashi tended to leave Hanabi taking care of the gardens of the Shrine instead of training all the time. Skills: • Doragon no sutekkā: Used by raising the sword up, then immediately bringing it towards the opponent.Striking the blade with immense force paralyzing the damaged area. • Doragonfurasshu: An extremely fast lunge towards an opponent, then using the force of the body turning to hit them in the neck. The speed from this attack can make landing difficult however. • Doragon no shi: A sprung sword technique, where the user draws the sword out of the sheath using quick speed and agility. The attacker is able to aim the at a vital point. Resorting in dangerous injuries of death. Hobbies: Meditating | Strategics | Observing Bio: Aozaki was always a loner, loved to fighting but.. her was never so bloodthirsty until his family was brutally killed by Government Officials, because of braking the " Sword ban rule ". From there after Aozaki's Assassin reputation grew, labeling him as a dangerous person to deal with. He sometimes works for some government official because of his believe. CHARACTER SHEET Name: Tora Suguru Age: 18 Gender: Female Nationality: Japanese Sword style: Assassin-Sword style used to kill) Weapon: Nodachi(a 2meter katana) Role: Hired Mercenaries Personality: Very loving, and kind unless it its job related. Once in to her job, like her name insists, her soul turns in to a tiger. Makeing her a feurious fighter, Enjoys fightes to the death. Also likes to drink minor amounts of Alchohol. Abilities: -strength-Very strong, enough to crack a boulder open when using a metal club at full stength. -endurance-like strength, Tora has very sting endurance against blows, raising her defense. -Tiger Legs: very stong and fast legs, dispite the fact using a heavy weapon. Skills: -Claw swing: a powerful flash-draw art preformed with a Nodachi. It can swing any driction only one time, with high amputation rate. If failed, it takes time to rebuild defense. -Tiger's Dance: series of strikes preformed with a heavy Nodachi, has a longer and heavier range than a normal katana. On the other hand it is slow. -Pounce: makeing the Nodachi almost symmetrical with the body, Tora will charge right in to the enemy gut, if the enemy dosent get stabbed, they will recive a hard tackle instead. Some times can be preformed from above, if the hight is just right. Hobbies: little drinking, chatting, drawing Bio: Tora is a name she gave her self. She lived on the streets the first half of her life and was later taken in to a Dojo that taught her skills to defend her self. The reason she uses such a heavy weapon is unknown even to the Dojo master, but she was good at it. She awakened to the enjoyment to death matches soon after she was taken in to the Dojo, her first victim was a older dojo member who was foolish enough to challenge her and kick her out, just because she was a girl. From this time, she already held naturally strong strength, and ended up beating the challenger to pulp with a bamboo sword. Name: Arikawa Mikoto Age: 21 Gender: Female Nationality: Japanese Sword style: Protection Weapon: Dual Wielding Wakizashi (30 - 60cm length) Role: Hired Mercenary Personality: Tomboy, Calm, Not too sociable Abilities: 1. Agile - Mikoto is rather fast in doing action or reaction 2. Great Conservation - Mikoto is trained for long lasting fights, she tires later than ordinary person Skills: 1. Spin - Perform a quick 360 degree spin, slashing every opponent that comes near Mikoto, she leave herself vulnerable for a second after performing this technique 2. Hundred Blades - Mikoto strikes at her foe at quick speed, making an illusion as if the opponent were barraged with more than 5 blades. If it doesn't connect at all, she wastes her stamina. 3. Thousand Blades - The continuing technique for Hundred Blades, as soon as Hundred Blades finished, Mikoto then strikes incredibly faster than before, and of course, this technique is risky to use. As it tires Mikoto and make Mikoto really vulnerable after its done. Hobbies: Reading Bio: Mikoto was a daughter of a shopkeeper. She always hang out with Itou during her childhood, though she was hard to get along with, she had a love interest towards Itou. She was really talented fighter. Her style is dual wield. She decided to use Wakizashi instead of the ordinary Katana due to difficulties with the length. She decided to go travel with Itou after graduating. Runner - Itou could run faster than normal 2. Burning Strength - Itou unleashes the power inside him with the desire to protect his friends Skills: 1. Charge - Itou charges to an enemy while he points the tip of his blade to an enemy. If it didn't connect, Itou is vulnerable as he is physically weak that he couldn't tackle anyone in any size. 2. Flurry - Itou does a continous strike to his enemy with his spear, this move consumes many of his stamina 3. Fatal Counter - Itou immediately strikes his opponent while they swing their weapons towards him, causing major damage. This ability require precise timing, a mistake could lead a fatal damage to himself. Hobbies: Stargazing Bio: Itou was rather weak in term of strength compared to other boys. He is Mikoto's childhood friend, she always become the figure that protects him from harassement. He doesn't really know that Mikoto had a love interest towards him. Though he know that she might be disappointed with him if he is still weak and afraid. He decided to travel the land of Japan after graduating. Appearance:

Name: Raika Yoshida Age: 17 Gender: Female Nationality: Half-Japanese and half-French Sword style: Assassin Weapon: Bow, mini-blowgun and short katana (always hidden under her outfit, due to sword ban act) Role: Ninja Personality: Quiet, doesn't say much, deceptive. Abilities: Run and Shoot - Raika could fire an arrow while she is running forward towards her enemy. triple arrow shot - Raika could fire 3 arrows at a time. Skills: Archer's Accuracy - Like most archers, she was always able to hit her target 90% at a time. When she is target practicing, sometimes her arrows hit 1 or 2 inches off the bullseye. As for firing a dart from a blowgun, if the enemy happens to be too close for her to use arrows. She just takes out her blowgun and spits a lethal dart at the victim's neck. Eagle's senses - Just like an eagle, she has a sharp eyesight from spotting things that are too far away. Her hearing is so tune into nature to the point it is sharp that she could pinpoint somebody that is too far away. This helps her archery skills when she wants to kill something from 100 yards away. The downside from shooting somebody from 100 yards away is it is not lethal kill. There is a chance that you can still "air ball" an arrow and not hit anything vital. Stealth - When she was younger, she used to had friends that would play the game hide and seek with her. Among her friends, she was very, very difficult to find. Hobbies: Listening to the sound of nature, target practicing with her arrows, building her own arrows. Bio: Raika was born into a secret traditional family of ninja. Unlike the ninja's in her family, she is more weak in the skills of sword than of a bow. She has a childhood friend named...Arya Ishikawa (Fhary's character). When growing up, they both have demonstrated a friendly rivalry. Despite the rivalry, she won't hesitate to help her friend even though there is protest involved. Role: Bandit (Yakuza) Personality: Acts like the cool guy, despises anything that has to do anything to do with women and children being harmed, semi-vigilante and a warm head. Abilities: Gunman - He was once a general in the Japanese Imperial Army, in service to the Meiji Wars of Japan. Fencing Hand to hand combat Skills (names are in French): Saber espoire (Sabre's Hope) - Hits everything above the waist ( Whether your are attacking or defending while in the middle of sabre fencing bout attacking is an essential aspect of sabre fencing that when mastered can make you a deadly adversary. There are a few main attacks that every sabre fencer must know in order to make a successful attack. These techniques include the lunge, a slash, and a stab.) sort masqué (Masked Fate) - Protection ( A rising attack, where the right hand is places against the bottom of the sword, holding it horizontally above head, then rises straight up, hitting the sword towards the opponent's neck destin final (Destiny's End) - the entire body (This technique attacks a single point over and over again in rapid succession. However, you'd have to be really fast and ready to defend yourself if your opponent manages to defend your predictable barrage of attacks.) Hobbies: Playing Chess, Card games, Drinking, and Gambling. Bio: Seiji was a Japanese Imperial soldier serving under the new government during the First Sino-Japanese War. He fought with the war against China's Qing Dynasty. Within his experience with the military, he was taught by use of firearms. Instead of being taught by the ways of the samurai sword growing up, he was taught by the way in fencing learned from French volunteers invited by the Imperial Army. Years later, he decided to go rogue and left the military with his weapons and joined the Yakuza. Appearance: Extra: He also knows how to speak french as well as Japanese

He prepares by dropping into a partial crouch, both knees bent, left arm(as he uses his left arm in this stance) drawn back and right extended forward; he grasps the kashira (endcap of the tsuka, or hilt) of his sword with his left hand and rests the tips of the fingers of his right hand (usually the thumb) on the blade near its tip.This is what he usually uses in fights unless he sees that the enemy is worthy for his other forms.This is stance is known for its powerful strike due to the fact that the thrusts this stance makes have all the power of the whole body behind it.However it is easily dodged since it is has some straight forward attacks. 2.)Kaen Ryu(Fire Dragon) Form-Kenji's second and moderate fighting stance.In this stance he uses his Katana on his right hand and his Kodachi on his left.The attack involves Kenji gripping his kodachi backhand, then slashing the opponent six times in rapid succession.This stance has less powerful strikes due to its demand for quick strikes. 3.)Ten no Ryu(Heavenly Dragon) Form-Kenji's final and most powerful form.This involves sheathing both swords and assuming a battoujutsu stance. It is both quick and deadly.In this form,Combining the true speed of shukuchi with the Battōjutsu he creates a scenario that gives the opponent little room to attack or defend.Powerful as this technique is,it stresses the user heavily due to its demanding speed and power behind its blows.Kenji has only ever used this twice and prefers not to use it in a fight unless badly needed. He can be rather blunt at times, but does his best to avoid saying things that could hurt others. Abilities: Excellent Balance - Able to keep his footing on uneven ground, maneuver through small areas and move along small footing. Heightened Awareness - Can keep track of everything happening around him. Helps with visualizing the surroundings and attacking enemies. Calm Mind - Prevents shaking and loss of focus due to adrenaline. Allows him to always perform precise movements and remain steady in stressful situations. Skills: Limp Wrist - Relaxes his wrists and allows him to spin his swords by twisting and turning his hands to pull off difficult to predict attack angles. The drawback to this is that the slashes do not have much power behind them due to his wrist muscles being relaxed. Aqua Defense - Ryuji focuses entirely on his opponents attacks and how to deflect them. In this stance, Ryuji will angle his swords upon receiving an attack so that the weapon is deflected away. By using less strength than simply meeting the attack with equal force, Ryuji is able to rebuild his stamina or wait for his opponent to burn up their own. Skill is named because of how opponents attacks seemingly pass through or bounce off of Ryuji. Blade Dancer - Ryuji holds his swords in a reverse grip causing the blades to run along his forearms. With this, Ryuji is able to get in close to his opponent and stop attacks with greater strength due to the leverage from his arms. He mainly jabs at opponents with the hilt of the swords as if he were boxing, but can also push his arm against his opponents body before pulling his hand toward him to slice enemies open. Strategist - skilled at setting ambushes, traps, feint attacks and such. Skills: Chain Field(Kusari no ryoiki) - Her naginata's blade can get seperated from the handle, though still connected to it by a chain hidden inside it(somewhat like kusari-gama). This skill allows to use chain to make some sort of a guard around Ciruella and to block attacks. Of course, this skill's duration is very short, as gravity makes chain fall. Sting(Toge) - Launch her naginata's blade at the opponent for mid-range attack. Handle is used as a sling to launch it. Scorpion(Sasori) - If opponent dodges Toge, quickly pull blade back (it's still connected to the chain) to backstab opponent. Extremely heavy attack, that can stun the opponent or break normal swords, even if guarded. Penalty(Batsu) - A quick vertical upward attack, that only works if someone tries to stand on her sword. Quickly rotate the sword on 90 degree and cut the opponent standing on it. Hobbies: Fighting Bio: Ciruella's younger sister, Tsurara is also a battle miko, who started training to join Police at the same time. Unlike her sister, she acts in a bit vulgar and unladylike way, which tends to annoy her older sister. Despite them being sisters, she calls Ciruella by name most of the time. Appearance: (Don't mind school uniform version) P.S. Tsurara has a simple fighting style, focused on power over technique, so all of her skills are just simple attacks. In Ciruella's case all of her skills are uses of her weapon. Role: Police Personality: Unpredictable, quiet, calm? Abilities: -Excellent hearing -Excellent hand-eye coordination -Good memorizational skills Skills: Rock: He swings his chokuto over his shoulder onto his target infront of him. This force from the swing is capable of breaking bones through armour. Despite the heavy offensive power, it leaves him completely defenceless against dual swordsmen as he is only able to defend with the O-katana until he raises his heavy chokuto back onto his shoulder. - Weakest Paper: He simply points his O-katana towards his opponnent with a tight grip, creating openings on his opponent for an easy counter-attack. This skill will not work against ranged weapons (nodachi, spears, guns, arrows). - Average Scissors: The blunt and heavy chokuto that was held in his left hand on his left shoulder, is held in reverse position [having the tip of the sword pointing behind weilder]. However, the spine of the chokuto points to the ground, rather than the blunt blade. The wind gently blows against the sakura tree, bringing about falling sakura petals like snow flakes falling from the sky during winter. Within the City of Edo is a dojo. It is the day for all coming of age students to graduate from the dojo and go down to the path of their dreams. Students are lined up facing their instructor Yamamoto Keichi, whose face is of a 60 year old man, firm gray mustache and semi-long gray beard, thick bushy gray eyebrow with stern brown eyes of a once known samurai. He held his shinkai like a stance, staring straight at all his students. He opens his mouth and began to make his speech. "You all have been training in this dojo for many years now. All you have learned are just preparation for what lies ahead. For your true test lies in wait outside this dojo. Your goals, your dreams are something you grasp with your own hand. You must all stand firm and tall like the samurai of the old age." "Never flee from a battle unless you know you cannot win. A warrior's pride is his heart. I noticed a restaurant, my stomach growls as I realized that I haven't eaten anything today. I walk into the restaurant and seat myself at one of the booth and order myself a nice beef stew. While waiting for my meal, I quietly sip my cup of hot tea. As I was minding my own business, I heard some ruckus on the next booth. It would seem they are discussing something about democracy and about the new governments. I sigh, knowing those people are nothing but trouble.

What are you planning to do now that we've graduated?" Mikoto shrugged "I don't know... I've considered about being a mercenary or continue my family's business. But I'm still in doubt over these two choices, how about you?" Itou thinks for a while before answering "I... Want to see more of this nation" Mikoto was quite surprised hearing Itou's decision "Wait what?" Itou nodded in confirmation "Yes Mikoto, I want to wander around this nation." Mikoto sighed at Itou's determination "Okay... but please, take me with you." Itou : "Mikoto... You sure you want to go with me?" Raika runs around and fires an arrow. The Arrow misses. 'Damn! She is this good!' Raika thought. 'I can't believe some of my attacks are much slower that hers' Raika just runs up a wall with an arrow nocked on her bow and fires it. It got blocked. They had been training 8 hours straight with little-to-little breaks in between. Her friend had always been beating her. Moments later in her training, their fathers had stopped their training with Raika's friend scythe at her throat as a sign that she had won once again. "Raika! Arya!" That had gotten their attention. "I am proud to say that you are going to be the top graduates of this school. You both with take on your first assignment" "What is it father?" Raika asked. "You both know what you are born and trained for. You both are the offspring of ninjas. You are design to kill and a punishment for justice. Remember that!" "Now, as for the assignment as we're going send you both on is...Your target is Toyama Sakatama. The details are that he is involved with prostitution and child trafficking. [Yamamoto Dojo - Afternoon] Ciruella and Tsurara were listening to a speech, directed to students, who were graduating today. Though that included them, neither of them thought it was something important. As their names were called for mock battle against full-fledged policemen, they both stepped towards their opponents. However, the two weren't holding a wooden sword. Ciruella was armed with a wooden staff, while Tsurara had a wooden plank with a handle attached. As their opponents were a bit confused, Ciruella commented. Ciruella: I apologize for the confusion. Neither me, nor Tsurara use regular swords, so we have the training weapons most suited to us. Hearing the reason, her opponent nodded in approval. As their training fields were next to each other and Ciruella spoke on behalf of both of them, Tsurara didn't need to explain anything. They both took a battle stance, with Ciruella holding her staff in front of her vertically with both hands, while Tsurara was letting her plank-sword lay on the ground to the right of her with its tip, while holding the handle with both hands. As the battle started, Ciruella made a quick thrust towards her opponent. Her opponent was an experienced fighter himself, so he dodged it, but the next moment, Ciruella spinned the staff, so he was now bashed with the opposite side of the staff. As he barely blocked it, Ciruella quickly pulled the staff a bit away and repeated a thrust, though now with the back side she used for bashing. It was too close to him, so her opponent got hit with the staff into chest and fell to the ground. As he did, Ciruella approached him and slightly thrusted into his chest again with the other side of the staff, as only one side of her spear was supposed to be a blade and she represented finishing her opponent off. Then she helped her opponent to stand up and asked him a question. Ciruella: Excuse me, was it wrong to do a finishing off action? Is it better to capture my opponent alive? Her opponent, shocked with a fact that that was what troubled her, said that both options are okay, depending on the situation and left to report results of mock battle. At the same time as Ciruella's battle ended, Tsurara's opponent was staring on his sword, that was laying at the distance from him. His hands were tired from blocking Tsurara's heavy attacks and that final attack knocked his sword out of his hands. It was clear that he has lost, as Tsurara was standing next to him with a stance she could cut him from if he tried to reach for the sword. The man nodded and went to report the results. Though he looked a bit in pain, as his arms and hands were a bit swollen. Ciruella: I see you're done too. How was it? Tsurara: Hmm... well, my opponent was experienced and strong, but nothing I couldn't handle. The two were now sitting on a bench. Ciruella took out a bamboo bottle of green tea and two metal mugs from her bag and they were relaxing, waiting for the results. Ciruella: Well, I suppose they came here, expecting to fight students, who only just finished training. Most of people here are so. Not many here are like us, people who have trained since childhood. Tsurara: I guess. There are promising youths here though. For example that kid there with shinai. Tsurara slightly waved her hand in a direction of Minato. Ciruella: Hmm... Oh, I remember, his name was Kiryu Minato. And he's the same age as you are, so calling him a kid is a bit weird. Unless you're admitting that you're a kid yourself. Tsurara: Ugh... fine, fine, not a kid, young man. Is that okay? The two laughed a bit, as that type of talk had became some sort of a tradition between the two. Ciruella was used to Tsurara's rude way of speaking and knew there was nothing she could do to fix it, as well as didn't really want to. But she still pretended to correct her at times, while Tsurara pretending to be a kid, who was being scolded and had to accept her mistake. Tsurara: Well, I guess we now wait for the results. Shinki Demetori | Yamamoto's Dojo | Afternoon] Shinki steps up when his name was called. His opponent was a middle aged police officer who seemed interested in the battle. Shinki used the predecessor to the katana, which was a straight bladed sword. It lacked the cutting power of the katana due to its straight blade, however, when used properly, can be just as lethal. Shinki held his wooden chokuto in his left hand and began launch quick fencing thrusts. As expected, the officer evaded the attack with ease and came towards the left arm where Shinki had left an opening and executed a horizontal slash to the stomach. The outcome of the battle was clear and Shinki was on the verge of losing, but a miracle occurred when he stepped back and swung himself around to stop the swing of the sword by catching the officer's wrist with the right hand. As the officer held his moment in awe, Shinki took the opportunity to place the chokuto at the officer's neck, signaling an end to the battle. When he sat down, Shinki noticed that more than half of the participants have finished their battles and were waiting for results. He let out a sigh and sat in the corner waiting for the results to be announced.

Ashiya Hanabi | Outskirts of Edo Japan | Hakugyokurou Shrine | Afternoon | The day grew older as the afternoon came to claim its place, as always the shrine was empty. From a far down the steps towards it students pass by but don't take place in walking up to the shrine. Sakura petals softly sway like snow flakes in to the ground, interrupting the silence, were foot steps from one side to another. It was the young "Shrine Keeper" Ashiya Hanabi. As always by her self, she was cleaning the wooden floors of the shrine, with a small white cloth, she polished away. After worth she watered the plants from the four wings of the Shrine, right after that she swiped away the withered petals, then a loud sight was heard Wuuff.. well.. everything is as it should be.. she proudly exclaimed. As her sky blue eyes gazed at the Beautiful and clean Shrine, she nodded in agreement with her self. Ashiya walked to the small house behind the shrine were she keeps all the utensils to clean the shrine. Sense the Shrine was now clean, she quickly took a bath and dressed in her usual "boyish" clothing. Japanese trousers with a wide shirt to hide her female body. And to complete her disguise, a black tie to her short hair white as snow. Ashiya looks her self in the mirror and smile a little, and said to her self. Master I promise to find a Dojo so i can finish my style and bring people to the Shrine... as there was always before you're disappearance and the new government.. She nodded full of courage, walked towards training wooden katana and headed out. Most of the people didn't notice her as a girl, besides she always introduces her self as just Ashiya, so it was hard to notice. Ashiya Hanabi | Edo Japan | Main street | Afternoon | The young Hanabi walked her way around the streets to see if she could find anything interesting, on her way around she saw the small shop were her favorite treat Melon-bread were for sale. Ahh.. Melon-bread.. Some people stared at her, but continued there way. She reached for her small coin carrier but she had no money sense no one visited the Shrine in a wile. Her lips curled into a grin, knowing what was going to happen next, she walked closer to the small shop as if nothing catch her eyes, Ah, Good After Noon.. The old man said to another customer, but in that small moment of distraction, Ashiya tip toe and grabbed a warm melon bread. As her soft sense of touch grasp her temptation, the shop owner notice. Hey Kid!! You have to pay for that!!.. Ashiya quickly took the Melon Bread began running away shouting Gomene!! Oldman!! I'll pay you back!.. ( Hanabi was quite a character only for melon bread she would change into this "type" of person) The shop owner began to chase her down the Main street Hey Kid! Come back here!! She was very quick, sense she trained most of the time, she was quick on her feet. She dodged the people before her with ease. Finally the shop owner was left behind. Hanabi smiled knowing that she got away If only Master could see me now.. he would be disappointed.. She spoke as she stuffed her mouth with melon bread, but then she stumbled into a few men coming out of a booth inside a small restaurant, they appeared to had been discussing something about democracy and about the new government. She looked like a boy, but her small bodily configuration was no match for the men she stumbled into, so her body was pushed to the ground, knocking her only unfinished melon bread to the ground, and her wooden Katana flew towards the men's feet. She quickly protested Hey!.. watch were you're going!.. Her lips yelled out with attitude. But the men before her meant business, sense they took her revealed wooden Katana as a threat to them because of the sword ban rule. So one of them, with his bear-like hand grasped her shirt forcefully, pulling her off the ground with ease. Tch.. Hey.. She gestured But the man quickly questioned Hey Little man.. why are you carrying a Sword with you?.. Don't you fallow the rules.. are a protester? Ashiya placed her hands on top of the unknown man as she tried to pushed her self away from him Let me Go!.. Im. not a protester.. She claimed to her behave. But the men seemed they were misunderstanding. thats just my.. training Katana..

The other person was wearing a white shirt and the blue pants of the police.He had two swords on his left side and a cigar in his hand.He put the cigar on his lips and took a deep breath and closed his eyes.As a cloud passsed by his eyes were shrouded by shadow.A few minutes of silence passed. "S..so..have you considered my offer,yes?" he said to the man while he attempted to rise to his feet.The swordsman threw the cigar down and exhaled the smoke and smirked.He turned around and started to walk away. The bloody man sighed a sigh of relief. "If there's something I hate..it's those who bribe me." the swordsman said as he suddenly drew his sword and placed it into his left hand and held it in the kashira and crouched.He extended his right hand over the sword and with palms open,he placed his thumb on the tip of the blade. "Aku Soku Zan...You Imperialist Dog." he said as he kicked the mans body away and drew a white cloth and whipped his sword blade.He put the sword back into his sheath and took another cigar from his pocket and lit it.Taking a deep breath again and exhaling it and went towards the exit and grabbed his policemans jacket and cap from where he put it.As he came out of the alley he was no longer the Shinsengumi Vice Captain.He was once again Goro Fujita of the police department.

[Kiryu Minato|Yamamoto Dojo|Edo-Japan|Afternoon] I held my shinkai in a firm grip, I stare at my opponent which I could tell is an experience police swordsman. I decided to make him attack first as part of my strategy. I shifted my right foot, hoping to make him believe that I am about to attack. As planned, he noticed it and attack me first. I dodged his thrust with ease and strike my shinkai hitting him hard on the back. I quickly maneuver my body facing him as he turns around and try to attack me. However, my eyes tells me that he planning something just from the way his body acts. My instinct tells me, he going to feint his first attack and attack straight on with the second. I dodged his feint and blocked his second attack with quick speed and action. As our weapon made contact, I slid my shinkai down his blade and hit his wrist with quickly before he could attack me. I successfully hit his wrist with a hard quick thrust, which made his hand jolted with pain, causing him to let go of his blade. With my foot I flew his blade aside by hitting the hilt of the sword; making sure it landed somewhere safe away from people. While I quickly point my shinkai at his neck, thus ending the fight. The officer nodded his head and stepped back in surrender. I sigh in relief when the battle was over. The officer and I bow, I walk over to where Akumu sisters are seated. I seated myself beside Ciruella. "Looks like you two finished your fight quickly, as expected," I stated in truth with a smile. I placed my shinkai down beside me as I waited for the results. The master and the police commander discuss among themselves and jotted down something on the clipboard. They nodded and return standing in front of us. I watched as I wait to know who I am going to be assign to. "Alright, we have made our decision, judging from each of your fight and skills. As you may or may not know. The police force has five squads, each squads duties are different among another. When I call out your name, please step forward to receive your pin which indicate the squad you are assign to," The commander explained. "Shinki Demetori...You're are assign under Captain Kenji Kuroyume of Squad 2." "Akumu Ciruella...You're are assign under Captain Fuji Yukimura of Squad 3." "Akumu Tsurara...You're are assign under Captain Souichiro Roshi of Squad 4." "And Kiryu Minato...You're are assign under Captain Ryuji Sato of Squad 5." Upon hearing my name, I slowly got up and step forward to receive my pin of Squad 5. I shook hands with the commander as I receive my pin. The commander nodded as if satisfied. "Now that you're all assigned, let's head off to Headquarter where you will meet your captains,"Commander stated. "Dismissed," the Master yelled out. We all bowed our head one last time before gathering our stuff and followed the police force out of the dojo to there headquarters. I walk along beside the Akumu sisters as we headed to our destination. [Kurosaki Saito|Restaurant|Edo-Japan|Afternoon] I was silently sipping my tea when I hear a commotion outside. From my sense of hearing I hear the group of those guys who were talking about democracy and new government from before. It would seem they are about fight or rather bully someone. I also heard the voice of the victim, from the sound of the voice, I knew it was a girl. I got out from my booth and walked my way to the entrance. Along the way, I told the manager, I'll be back for my food once I deal with some pest outside. I walked out of the restaurant and see a small boy dangling from a bear like man's grasp. The boy appearance as I scanned is more feminine despite the boyish clothing, so I knew the boy is the girl I heard. I walked forward and grasp the man's wrist that was holding the girl in an iron grip. "You will be so kind to let this lad go, sir. It would be unwise to attack a young lad in broad daylight," I stated calmly as I stare at the man with stern eyes. The man gritted his teeth in frustration and about to punch me with his other fist. "Who do you think you are?! Barging into someone else business!" I block his punch with just the palm of my hands, I could feel the heavy punches of it which had made me shifted back a bit. I stare at the man calmly, my hold on his wrist tighten almost to the point of pain. The man hide his pain as his eyes wander and noticed the sword at my side. "So you are with that little brat. Breaking the rules, eh? Who do you think you are?" "I am just a rurouni, sir. As for my blade, it is merely a sakabato, which can hardly do any damage or much less kill anyone." The man laugh out loud upon hearing my statement. Though the man laugh, he is in fact angry and disliked me already. He launched another punch which I knock it aside with ease with just a slight karate chop while my other hand gripped his wrist so tight that it almost about to break. The man cried out in pain and let go of the lad. As he let go of the lad, I let go of his wrist as well. I stare at the other men that followed the bear like man. They tensed up as if caught in action. I gave them a smile which seemed more scary to them than pleasant. "I suggest you take your friend to the doctors and get out of here before you cause anymore trouble," I stated. They nodded their heads and quickly drag their friend away and out of sight. I then turn my attention back to the girl. "Now miss, try to not bump into those guys again. Ok?" I turn on my heels and walked back inside the restaurant and back to my booth. Which the food came quickly as soon as I seated myself. I took hold of my chopsticks and began to fill my bowl of rice with the beef stew. @all Here are the NPC Squad Captains of the Police force. This attack help him block attacks that aim at him if he jumped in mid-air or from long-ranged attacks. But he can still be knocked off balance with the slight impact of an explosion. Dragon spear: He does a slow twisting rather dancing like a dragon of the sky by moving his blade. This help make an illusion of a dragon and of himself. This attack only work when the weather is humid and dense. For he use this to create an illusion of himself and attack his enemies from behind. Skills: Giant thrash: 180 degree swing from the back to the front, hitting the ground with great strength which causes the ground to split somewhat due to the size and weight of the Zanpakuto. Mantis Pray: If his opponent landed on his blade, he would twist his blade and send his opponent flying and slashed his opponent in mid-air. Windmill: He would twirl his zanpakuto like a banton. One of the young workers at the HQ had been inquisitively asking Ryuji about how he felt the moment that everyone was dismissed from the meeting. She wasn't bothering him very much, but he was beginning to get tired of her constant inquiries. "I don't much care one way or the other. If I were to be completely honest, I would say that I would rather have had a female placed under my command. They tend to be less brash in their actions as opposed to younger guys." The young worker chuckled a little at the comment. "Don't you think that you're generalizing a bit too much?" Ryuji crossed his arms as he walked, thinking the question over for a few seconds. "Possibly. Part of me does hope that I am wrong about that assumption. I guess we'll find out soon enough. In any case, I'll be heading out for the time being. You should be getting back to your duties as well." Ryuji headed out into the streets to go out on his patrol, but his main reason for going out was to get time to think about the events that had just unfolded and how he would handle being the Captain of a squad.
