Also known as Blue Exorcist.
Plot Summary: Humans live in the world of Assiah, demons in Gehenna. The two dimensions are not meant to interfere with each other, but demons still possess creatures in Assiah in spite of this. The humans who can fight these demons are known as exorcists. Rin Okumura is a boy who bears the curse of being Satan's illegitimate son. His foster father sacrificed himself to save him from demons. To avenge his foster father's death as well as to prove himself, Rin decides to follow the path of an exorcist.

Personally, I have high hopes for this series. I actually wasn't planning on watching the anime this season, but after seeing the first episode of the series it got me hooked. The characters, the plot, even the opening and the ending, it all drew me into the series (I especially love the ending, it's now one of my favorite endings ever).

I haven't read the manga for it yet, although I'm planning to sometime over the summer.

What are your thoughts on the series?

One of my all-time favorite if it continues at the pace it has, and right now
sits just outside maybe my top 5/7 manga all-time. It's still early though, so
before I call it a top 5 it has to continue on for a bit.

Now, I've been waiting for the anime since January or so, and I was totally pumped
for it -- and so far it's done great. I love the animation and the voice acting
quality, and the music score for the anime is top-notch.

I can already see the anime is getting into some filler, but I don't mine. Chances
are they will incorporate any kind of filler into the story very well, and make
the anime able to go on a couple seasons more as the manga story progresses.

Check out the manga asap -- it's great!

Never planned on watching it when I was looking at the list for this season, but now I want to after. Atm I have way too many things to watch in a week so I'll proly pick this at the end of the season.
I didn't really know anything of what this show was relaly about until I read that Plot summary. The only thing I have to say about it is that Rin looks like a total boss. xD

You know a show's got to be good when you think the main is awesome without even knowing anything about him. xD

@ Shuy- I'm going to check out the manga once I don't have school stuff to worry about in the summertime. XD

I wouldn't mind some filler for the anime as well, and I really do hope that there will be at least one more season of Ao no Exorcist after this one.

@ Komaro- I highly recommend watching Ao no Exorcist whenever you can, it really is a good anime! And yeah, Rin is kind of awesome. Quite a few of the characters are, I think that Yukio, his brother, and Mephisto, the head of the school he attends with Yukio, are also quite awesome in their own regard.

I might pick it up soon actually. I usually have empty space in the week, usually around Wednesday night when nothing releases and not much happens. I'm usually trying to find something to entertain myself. *looks at calender*
Oh it's Wednesday. Lol.
Who knows... I'll proly download the episodes today and save it for later or something. xD

Pick it up Now Now Now Now Now Now Now Now! It's just too great, can't get enough.

and Toyumi, be sure you pick up the manga as well. Summertime is great to catch
up on anime and manga, so put it near the top of your list. They do a monthly
release, and mangafox is a good place to catch it -- or go straight to the source
and google the J.A.C. Scanlation team, who are the ones that do Ao No Exorcist.

and the filler was pretty great. While it was filler, it was slightly based off
a part from the manga where Rin is trying to figure out what to do about food
without having any money, so the way they developed it into a whole episode was cool.

@ Komaro- Yes, pick it up when you can! XD

@ Shuy- I will pick up the manga, it was near the top of my list even before you told me to put it there. It's the second from the top actually, the only one that's beating it is Kimi ni Todoke. XD

The last episode was great too. I loved the friendship conflict in it, since I'm kind of a sucker for them. But the end of these episodes recently are leaving us on such cliffhangers, I really want to find out more about what's going on with that. I know that they're all probably related to the main plot, but I'd still like to at least find out how and why. >.>

Also, I can totally see one of those non-stop video's coming out on Youtube or something of Shiemi's "Oi" in the last episode. XD

Yeah it was a pretty cool episode. I remember when I read the chapter this episode
was based off, I got so mad "Eyebrows" (rofl) because she was such a jerk. I guess
you can say the writer is doing a good job if a character suppose to be disliked
does get disliked!

This episode also brings to light how great the character relationships are in the
series. I love the way characters interact, both the good and the bad, and the way
they are portrayed in certain events.

Like Rin running after Shiemi or Shiemi running back after him instead of going
for help. You may not normally see that, and would instead see Rin not chase her
and instead see Shiemi go for help. Ao No Exorcist really breaks some norms you
would see in manga/anime with interactions.

Next few episodes are gonna be really great!

— and LOL, I can totally see that video too! It'll be like the new Nyan Cat, lmao.

Lol, so I actually started watching this and caught up in the past week. Rin's image was a little different than I assumed, but its all good. xD
I'm liking it so far

I don't know if anyone has experienced this, but I find it very, very, extremely impossibly difficult not to get distracted by Izumo's eyebrows. xD
They're just.. there. =3
Not hating at all tho. xD

@ Shuy- I loved the character interactions too! I kind of expected Rin to run after Shiemi, since that's the kind of guy he is, but I never expected Shiemi to run after him instead of going to get Yukio. You're definitely right about it breaking the norm in anime and manga.

Also, I downloaded the manga the other day, I'm going to start reading it when I have the chance.

@ Choco- I was the same way, I got hooked on the series after watching the first episode too.

@ Komaro- Yes! Her eyebrows are distracting, I can't concentrate on anything else when they're in the scene. XD

At first I thought the anime wasn't that good (I only watch the trailer and search more info about it), but then as I watched the 1st episode, kyaa!! I get hooked to it. I like the two brothers and Shiemi-chan as well as her sweet voice.

It's been quiet here for quite awhile... Well anyway, I really loved the latest episode for two main reasons:

1. That fight between Rin and Amaimon was just totally awesome. ♥

I loved it and can't wait for them to go at it again.

2. Mepphy Land! Seeing that amusement park themed after my favorite character of the series so far was hilarious and totally made my day.

I've also been reading the Ao no Exrocist manga recently, and after quite a few days of reading I'm finally current with it (Or at least, I hope I'm current with it >.>). Where it is currently is very interesting, especially at the end of the latest chapter with Rin and his Katana. I really can't wait to see how it turns out in the next chapter.

Me too! I just recently found the manga, both anime and the manga are same, I can't decide whether I should read the manga or not because I want the real action but I want to see the next exciting scenes for the plot^^

Following both anime and manga. Actually i discovered that Us has licensed Ao no exorcist manga. Lucky for you guys.

I'm really happy with the anime version. Amaimon voice is just TOO cute. and it is all really well made.

May say it isn't the perfect series or the unique. But I'm having fun with it.

It would be awesome if they made the Anime as long as Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood that has 64 episodes. Totally, Ao no Exorcist is one of the best Animes I have watched.

@ Lai-chan- Haha, that's why I read the manga, to see what's to come later on in the anime. I do both, watch the anime and read the manga, they're both great so I don't consider it a hassle to do both for the series.

Although, Ao no Exorcist is only the third series that I've both watched the anime and read the manga (The other two being Kimi ni Todoke and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya), with the other series I've completed I normally just do one or the other, and not both. Ao no Exorcist definitely is definitely good enough that I enjoy doing both for the series.

@ Dfly- Yeah, I actually got the first two volumes of the manga as well, despite the fact that I've been downloading it too so I can get to the more recent chapters. XD

And yes, Amaimon's voice is cute! Although personally, my favorite character of the series is Mephisto. I like Mephisto more so in the manga, where there will just be random little appearances of him when he hasn't been seen for awhile. And he makes the best remarks there as well. XD

@ Holkers- It is very good! I wouldn't say that it's the best series ever like your classmate had said, but it certainly is a great series.
