I think it's cause so many people are doing it at this time.

I'll honestly try later cause this is pissing me off.

Oh btw Jon, I'm sending in my GF game right away cause I got stuck and don't feel like playing it anymore.
I might send in the Sly Collection as well, I'm not really interested in playing it anymore.
Can add inFamous 2 on my list then but I'll make sure I get OF:RR first.

My 1 free game slot did disappear but I'll do as you suggested later tonight or even over the weekend.
I haven't tried getting PSN+ on my other account yet, if it does work that'll be cool.

@DA : I was finally able to access mine, but the error messages keep showing up. The good thing about this is, you get to have a crap load of free games, but the bad thing is they disappear once the 30 days are up. I'm downloading LBP and Sonic 2 for the 30 days.

I can't even go to the store page or the account management page period cause it gives me that 800 error or whatever.
And no you're mistaken, we get these games for free forever. The other games probably will not be kept forever,
but the 2 games you choose will be kept forever, if not then Sony will get flamed to no end.

I can imagine some flames boiling cause of these annoying error messages left and right.
If games expire with PSN+ expiring, does that apply for like avatars too?

@DA : Oh, I know you get to keep LBP forever. I was talking about Sonic 2 :D I don't know about the avatars though DX

Yeah I have Sonic 1 and 2, too, from my friend's PSN+ account before the PSN incident.
It's still there I think and he still has PSN+ so it'll be there for a while.
Maybe I should play them before I loose 'em but no big deal really.

And yeah, keep checking and the errors are constant and annoying.
Also, my Game 1 free slot is gone so that better be some foul or else I'll be really pissed.
It also isn't in the transaction or dL list so I'unno what else to do.

I also checked to see if I could get PSN+ on my other dummy account, and no good.
I can only get the free theme they give you (which is random) but yeah these errors are really annoying.
I'll try over the weekend or so cause it's ridiculous to keep trying over and over again.

QEDIT: Got LBP and Dead Nation. Anyone else getting Dead Nation? Maybe I should've grabbed SSHD instead.
I'll try to grab it later if I can so we'll see.

Okay I used my friend's account to get Dead Nation as well. Anyone wanna play anything let me know.

@DA - Alright, I picked up my copy of Operation Flashpoint: Red River today. Me and my friend are going to go ahead and install/update or whatever now, but we will wait a few days to see what happens with you. I told my friend to keep his headset charged throughout the week.

Been playing a lot of inFamous over the past few days, but I'll be getting back to WKC soon. I'm pretty sure I'm almost finished it, so I just need to make one more big push on it. Ceaser is by far my favorite character so far. He seems to actually acknowledge my character and he's funny. A very welcome change from having Leonard whine about Princess Cisna, Yulie making obvious comments on everything she sees, Eldore grumbling and mumbling, and Kara's incessant b****ing about anything that seems remotely fun.

The game is still relatively easy. Black Knight is still a complete pansy and an absolute joke in combat. Leonard is also turning out to be an incredible jerk. Yulie basically admits her feelings for him point blank during one scene, and he immediately deflects it and turns it around to talk about Cisna. He's beyond the usual blissful ignorance of RPG heroes. I kind of want someone to kill Leonard. I honestly do. I'm not supposed to feel that way about the main hero in an RPG.

I have all the "Welcome Back" PS3 games if anyone wants to do some multiplayer (PSN ID: Demon_of_Chaos). I already had Infamous and Wipeout HD, but there are 3 account on my PS3 (hooray for MAG!) so I was able to get the other 3 games as well.

If anyone wants some info, LittleBigPlanet is lots of fun especially with friends. There are even some areas where it is necessary to have an ally to get to 100% completion. It sort of like a side-scroller but there is much more to do than just get to the end of the level.

Wipeout HD is also a lot of fun and is really pretty to look at on a big screen TV. Also, the Eliminator game mode (which comes with the Fury expansion) is IMHO the best mode in the game. It more about blowing up everyone else than it is about actually racing.

Infamous is an open world game (like GTA) and it has a good storyline. It is worth at least 1 extra play through (once for good cut scenes and once for evil cut scenes), and Infamous 2 was also just recently released (in NA) so it would give you something to play while you wait for a price drop.

Dead Nation is a really simple game. Its a top-down zombie shooter similar to Zombie Apocalypse (if anyone has played that game) but with the ability to customize weapons and armour. I've only played the first of ten levels but it seems like it has potential.

Super Stardust HD is fun in a sort of senseless/arcade-ish way. I've played through the arcade mode on easy and it took about an hour and a half to complete it all. There is also 2 player co-op play but I haven't had a chance to see how that works.

[@Jon] That's good to hear. Give me until at least Friday, I'll give you an update by then.
So far it's 'low' status so it's gonna be harder to get on GF (since it just came out).
I added it to my amazon cart, so we'll see what happens. If anything I'll possibly purchase it tomorrow, but no promises yet.
If nothing changes I'll order it by Friday and get it by the following week if that's okay with you (depending on shipping speed).

Sorry to make you wait, but we'll be able to play it soon.
I'm hoping to beat it then eventually send it in after checking out other features of the game.

[@Stoney] Sweet add me on PSN: xakxDA

As far as PSN+, there's really nothing to check out and the "free games" sucks.
I'll try to play them all at least once before they get removed.

The only thing I bought were all the MvC3 and SSF4 avatars (with my PSN card). :D

@DA - Alright, I'll inform my friend. If you don't have it by Friday, then me and him may go ahead and play some of the FTE's. I'll make sure that we stay out of the campaign until you have your copy though.

I'm working again tomorrow and Friday anyway, so it isn't that long of a wait. I'm anxious to play it though. It's usually just me and my friend for these games, since we buy them spontaneously when we want to play co-op. The main factor that pushed us to get Red River at it's current cost is the fact that we'll have someone else to play it with.

I ordered a few games off of the Gamestop.com website, since they finally had the ones I wanted in stock. UPS is now stating that "The receiver has moved. UPS is attempting to locate receiver to complete delivery." on the tracking site. I have no idea what this means, but I'm assuming they think I was not at the place I said I would be, which is complete BS. I double checked the shipping address on their tracking site, and it is correct. I'm not sure if I will even get my games now. I don't know if that means that they attempted to deliver the package and nobody was home, or if they screwed something up and are trying to deliver it to a completely different location. I have a bad feeling that this is going to end up with me having to re-order those games and pay for them all a second time (doubtful that I will actually do this though). I hope it comes in tomorrow, I really don't want to have to screw around with UPS or Gamestop.com to get products I paid for just because they can't read a shipping address. I have to compliment the speed at which it was shipped though, it only took 2 days to get from somewhere in Texas, to my province.

[@Jon] Yeah sorry to make you wait. If anything I'll see how much 2-day shipping is.
But I'll probably have it by this weekend or Monday-ish, so we'll be able to play soon, sorry about that.
If there isn't else to do online, then I'll trade it in and guess eventually add UFC Undisputed 2010 to get a bit of extra credit.

About your UPS problem, I've never ever had a problem with UPS.
I currently ordered an iPod touch case and I can't seem to track it down for some reason.
It was some site in Europe or something, so I'm just "waiting" for it now,
but about gamestop, why did you not order from Amazon instead? Amazon ships pretty fast.
If I buy OF:RR from them (which I will and mostly do for any gaming purchase), they ship relatively fast and mostly for free.

If my GF status for OF:RR doesn't change by tomorrow night, I'll order the game then and have it soon.
This is the first time trying to get a game that just came out on GF, and I was worried it'd take longer to try and get it.
I'm still trying to get Homefront and that's been "low" for a long time,
but the Sly collection was also "low" a lot, and I eventually got that with a larger gameQ, currently mines is only 3 games (2 not even out yet).

When I finally got Crysis 2, I think it took maybe 2-3 weeks to finally get it (after it released).

@DA - It's alright. The only concern my friend has is that the game will drop in trade value, since he's looking to trade it in as soon as we are finished with it. I offered to make up the difference if it did drop below $30 though, because I did sort of push him into getting it.

I prefer using actual business sites for some purchases. If I had gone to Amazon, I would have had to deal with wildly different prices, probably more expensive and slower shipping, and having to essentially do background checks on anyone I plan to buy from. It was less hassle to go with Gamestop, and if I don't get my package in the end, then at least I have someone I can blame/go to for answers.

If they don't stop by today by 11:30, then I'm going to have to leave a note or something so that my neighbour can get it for me. I've only had to use UPS once before, and there was no problem that time, so I don't understand why it now says that I have moved. I would assume that the driver's they use would be familiar enough with their homeland area that they wouldn't get lost. I don't live in a big city or anything. I was thinking that it meant the driver stopped by when nobody was home, but I did not receive a notice of that like I should have. Anyway, I'll be calling UPS at 11 to see if they know what's going on. I doubt they will be able to help me though.

Edit: The games did show up, although I had to pay another $15 through my credit card when the delivery guy showed up (I think that was for the brokerage fees).

Anyway, they all look in great condition, but none of them have the original cover art or instruction manuals. Now I have to go looking around for some printable covers to insert. I'll have to get some replacement cases as well, since those Gamestop ones are complete junk (they were all cracked and pieces were littered around the bag). Still, it was worth the cost. Xenosaga 3 is still at work (albeit, without a case), but I had not seen the second game in years. Ark of Napishtim for PSP was just for a personal collection purpose, as I already have the PS2 version (plus it was only $5). Magna Carta was just something I bought on impulse to use as much of the Visa Gift Card as possible.

Now I just have to hope that the covers I find will print out correctly and in the right size when I go to the Wal-Mart photo-center place.

[@Jon] Yeah unless it's like COD which was above 30$ for a long, long time before dropping,
usually games fall under fast, especially games that don't have replay value like COD or KZ.

But good news, I just ordered it and it'll be here by Saturday (2-day shipping).
Got for a few bucks less than the 59.99$ but meh, if we beat it quick it'll hopefully be past 40$ maybe.
The one thing that scares me is that inFamous 2 (which just came out)'s trade in value is below 15$ which has to be inaccurate.

lol damn you had to pay the delivery guy a fee? Wtf, he's not delivery pizza or hot wings. -______-"

Btw, if anyone wants to get into LBP, me and Shuy had a blast last night playing for hours and hours.
It's really better if people had mics cause it makes it easier and it sucks we have to play fully online instead of just parties.

Re: Gendou Gamers Club 2
Link | by on 2011-06-09 17:49:44
@DA - Alright, good to know. Hopefully we'll see you then. That works out relatively well, since Saturday will be my only actual day off. I won't know what days I have off next week until tomorrow, but I doubt it will take us very long to beat that game. Maybe 3 or 4 sessions, depending on how long you are able to game.

I had to pay him the brokerage fees, which is understandable. UPS doesn't have a branch anywhere near where I am, so they had to get it to another courier service. The service didn't make any money off of my order, so it's understandable that they would need to be paid something for getting it to me. I was able to get some replacement cases for the games, but the photo-center at Wal-Mart didn't work out the way I wanted to for the covers. It would probably take a few tries to get the right print, and they get relatively expensive for the size I need. I'm going to give our home printer a shot possibly tomorrow. It probably won't be in the best quality, but it will do until I can get access to a better quality printer.

I would love to join you guys, but I no longer own LBP, and I already used my free game downloads. I'm only available for Wipeout HD, so I don't know if any of you guys have that, even if it's only for the 30 days of PS+.

[@Jon] Yeah cause I don't like buying games unless it's fully paid in credit,
and since I recently used 100$ of credit towards a mic and related equipment, I spent my credit for possibly BF3 and others later in the year.
However I can still make another credit run with this game plus UFC Undispued 2010, so no biggie I suppose.
Just that if I possibly get back into school again and find an apartment, I can't expect to live in a cheap place as much as I want to,
so I've always been careful and conservative with buying games. But it'll be good to play this game online with you guys.

If anything we can beat the entire game on Saturday (depends on what time I actually wake up).
My timezone is Gendou.com +3 hrs (eastern) and I've been meaning to test how long my mic for PS3 can last until it dies.

I can finally start using my GF slots for games and trying to beat more games now instead of waiting for one game.

@DA - Eastern Time Zone? I think you are only about an hour and a half behind me then, which would work great. That means that me and my friend shouldn't have to be up until 12 in the morning just to be able to play with you. If we can't finish it on Saturday, then we might be able to on Sunday. Like I said, I'll find out what my work schedule for next week is like when I head to work tomorrow.

Anyway, I really need some sleep at the moment. I'll get you an update tomorrow.

[@Jon] Yeah I'll be on earlier (depends on when I wake up), though today I woke up before 1:30PM.
Later at night though, maybe around dinner time-ish, I'll stop playing cause I'll try to find a stream to a UFC PPV online.
So maybe we could play until like 8PM and probably finish the game and try out the other stuff after wards.

If I'm up earlier, I'll just sign onto PSN like normal and just have my status as unavailable.
Just send me a PM and whenever I get it I'll reply and we can start playing right away.

Re: Gendou Gamers Club 2

@DA - I should be good to play on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday night. I'll need to get up early on Tuesday for odd jobs, so Monday night is no good (or at least, I can only play until about 1 a.m. my time). We will probably have it all finished up this weekend though, assuming you get it by tomorrow.

So, if you do get the game tomorrow, what time should we start? Tomorrow is my day off, so me and my friend are probably going to be hanging out at my house during the day until supper. If you plan to start earlier than that though, then let me know so that I can either get him back to his house, or tell him to stay at home entirely.

Also, I'm sorry for having you pay so much to get the game as soon as possible. This started out as you wondering if I would get the game and turned into me getting the game as soon as possible and making you feel like you had to rush.

On another note, I finally managed to register at Backloggery.com. Their registration had been down for a while as they upgraded the site. Trying to come up with a way to link to it now. I also have to take some time to completely fill it out with every game I have, as well as the status.

I picked up Lux-Pain today as well. It came in from another store and was still there when I went on lunch, so I picked it up. I remember someone telling me that I would like it.

Finally, I found out that my printer actually does a really good job in terms of color, so I should have no problem creating some cover art for the games I ordered in. Now I just need to take care of the major credit card bill I've built up that these games were partially responsible for.

[@Jon] I'll definitely get it tomorrow, since I paid like 8$ for 2 day shipping to get it on Saturday.
Whenever you see me signed onto PSN, I'll be ready to play (that's my main sign that I want to play something).
Not sure exactly when I'll be able to get the game, but I predict around standard mail time or even earlier,
which should be around 2-ish PM so I'll be good by then, and we can play a good amount of hours.
Like I said before I'll probably stop around dinner time (7-8-ish) to well eat, shower, and eventually stream UFC 130.
We can definitely continue where we left off on Sunday, and if not finish the following day(s) you're off.

But yeah I heard the campaign for this game wasn't really long (usually war games aren't),
so maybe we can try out whatever other features the game will have.

And about being sorry, it's all good don't need to be sorry.
It was just bad timing since I wanted to see if I could get it on GF instead of "buying" it,
since I don't want to buy a game that I most likely won't keep.
I made that mistake with Portal 2 and eventually with Brink, and Brink sucks so I felt even worst.
Plus PSN being down really didn't help as well, and those games don't really have replay value.
I'd prefer buying games that I know I'll keep because of replay value (like BF3 and UFCU3 which I might buy later).

Plus this was the first time trying to get a game from GF right after it released, which had a low % of success.
I'm still waiting for inFamous 2 but I guess people are going to try to plat it or whatever first.

But I'll be happy if once we beat it, try out the other modes or whatever, and trade it in,
I'll be okay if I still get a fair trade-in price for amazon. I haven't seen one from amazon yet.
Though since it's not COD or KZ, it'll drop mighty fast so I do want to beat it entirely as fast as possible.

Skipping a bit into the future here, when does Catherine come out? I think next month?
I know for sure it has co-op, I think online as well though not sure how that would work.
Are you planning on keeping Catherine for a little while or wanting to trade it in immediately?
That huge box has full of goodies that look interesting, though since I used all my credit, not sure if I'll use it all on that regardless.
But I definitely want to play the game, has every element of a good Japanese anime style game: sexual content, ...and other stuff. ^_^

Other than Gundam Musou 3, Catherine is the other pre-order GF came I'll wait for,
but just like inFamous 2 and OF:RR, it might take like 2 weeks for me to get it, possible 3-4.

@DA - Oh no, I have the Deluxe version of Catherine pre-ordered. That is a game I definitely plan to keep, no doubt. I never get rid of Atlus games.

Red River should still trade in for quite a bit, I know it's still going for $30 here (not to mention some deals that are going on which can bump that up to $45).

There are 10 campaign missions from what I know, which is about the same as Dragon Rising. Red River does have longer FTE missions though, so we'll probably get some extra time out of that mode (although I don't know how many maps are available for FTE. There are only 2 open right away). I should go and check to see how long me and my friend spent at Dragon Rising. I think it was at least 6 hours for the campaign alone, although we did have to repeat a few missions due to failing them.

I think it will last quite a while. As I said, once we beat the campaign, we still have the FTE missions. There are 4 types I believe (Protect a convoy, kill all enemies, rescue pilots, "horde") that can be played on each map. So even if we only bother with the 'kill everything' missions, and assuming there are at least 6 maps, then that's about another hour of gameplay. I should look it up and see exactly how many maps you can get in the game. I know that the pre-order map pack won't be hitting until June 16th or something, so we'll have to wait and see what happens with that one.

[@Jon] That's good news, hopefully if I get it fast enough we can try co-op.
Not sure if co-op and single player are different, I don't know how the game will play out even though it was released in Japan before.

I saw a commercial on TV that gamestop was giving out 50%+ trade-in credit, or more for your money,
but I'll still check at amazon first, plus I'll probably trade in UFCU2010 there as well just for the heck of it.

Game seems lengthy enough, and yeah we can die pretty easily cause of the darn AI, so let's just take our time with it.
I don't want to rush any of it, whatever it's worth when I trade it in after we beat it, is what it'll be worth.
Those other modes seem really interesting, we gotta give them all a try. Curious on what the trophies will look like.

Also if your friend wants to, he can add me on PSN a well in case we have some trouble getting a party or something. You never know.
I'll let you be the squad leader who gives the commands cause I'll probably be a better wingman since it'll be my first at this type of game.
Is there some practice mode before hand to get used to the weapons/classes/controls?
I think you said you'd be the main sniper, and I don't mind being the other rifleman,
cause I saw you can also have a sniper rifle (or maybe it was a sweet looking ACOG).
