Hmm that's interesting. What if a non-PSN+ member on the same PS3 has access to a PSN+ account to obtain free games?
I had my friends PSN+ account on my PS3, but after the update I don't have his password anymore,
and I'm probably going to ask his roomate (my friend as well) to remove my account so it's not locked onto 3 PS3s anymore.

Yeah I don't think LBP is like a difficult game, it's really fun.
Do you have a mic? Since PSN is back up, anyone willing to play Portal 2 campaign?
I'm sort of pissed off at Dante's Inferno and decided to return that tomorrow (or today).
If anyone is willing to play Portal 2 I'll move that game up top on my gameQ.

Yep. I have a bluetooth mic thing for my online gaming needs. Too bad I don't have
Portal 2, though. I'd totally love to get that game, but right now I can't spend
the money on it, haha. Here's hoping LBP is as fun as I've heard.

LBP is as fun as you've heard, assuming you play the right levels with the right
people, and in a couple of weeks, no one in the world will have an excuse not to
own it.

@DA: I'm up for some Portal 2 Multi. I played a bit with one of my friends on Saturday, but we really didn't progress far since we went to go play MW2 with one of our other friends, since he really has no other games, and he was whining, haha.

I'm thinking of getting inFAMOUS and Wipeout HD, I mean, I really don't think I need LBP since I have LBP2, but I think it all depends on what you guys have, so we can have a gaming night like we did in Black Ops (Maiku and his bro, Ray, Kuro, Shuy, and I). Man that was fun, we need to do that again as well.

[@Shuy] Luckily for me I have GF, although I ended up pre-ordering Portal 2.
The game's fun, yeah, but it has no replay value and if you even beat it within the first week,
you could probably trade it in for still full price almost. Unfortunately PSN HAD to go down when I was about to.

Btw, what's your PSN? I think I asked you before but never added you. Mines "xakxDA". What other games do you have?

And yeah LBP is fun and is highly awarded and you can do a lot online. Or just fool around lol.
Like Kevin Butler says, you can't finish LBP... ever.

[@Haseo] Okay then I'll move it up top on my gameQ, but it's "low" status.
I'll let you know when I have it so I'll send you a PM on PSN or say it here, so just keep a heads up on that.

And that's good you didn't go far, I still kept myself from spoiling the campaign ending for myself.

Here's the thing about inFamous from me. It came out quite a while ago, but it's still a classic PS3 title.
You can finish it completely in two run throughs and get most of the trophies in the first run (via hard mode).
Although you don't play the game for trophies, you get them easily so might as well hunt a bit (and it's a obtainable platinum).

I think it's a good game to give out for free since so many people have played it or want to play it but never got the chance.
I beat it entirely a few weeks ago, so I wouldn't get it again just cause it doesn't have replay value or online like the other choices.
Also if you're planning on getting the second one (inFamous 2), I'd highly get it if you don't either rent games like I do now or never played it.

My choices are still LBP and SSHD although Dead Nation has online which is interesting.
I could just use GF to rent whatever I can't get, but having LBP forever and free is a good deal so I'll keep that.
I know a lot of people still play the first even though the second is out. I'll be miced up if people wanna play the first.

From what I've seen online two people can play online at once? So I guess no parties for LBP.

@Haseo —
We should hit up Black Ops again! During the PSN outage and my time off from the
game right before the outage happened, I didnt touch the game, so I'm even lower
in skill [oh no O_O] but I played a few games today, and at least had a respectable
18-8 in there. Gotta start somewhere. e.e;

@DA —
My PSN: Sourunji.

I need to add you too. I'm just, so lazy when it comes to adding people, lmao. I
don't really have any multiplayer games though, just -- FFXIII, Star Ocean 4, Naruto
Ninja Storm 2, NCAA Football 11, and Black Ops. So I can run some Black Ops.

@Maiku —
I'm pretty excited now for both it and Infamous. They need to get the store back up!

@All —
I learned today Japan won't let the PSN come back up. They claim the security
measures presented by Sony either haven't been implemented or aren't as good as
they want them to be. I wasn't quite sure from the way it was worded.

@DA - I would be up for it, but my copy is still loaned out to someone. I probably won't have it back until next week (and I plan on trading it in or selling it at that point).

I plan on getting inFamous and the Wipeout bundle for PS3, and Pursuit Force for PSP (I guess I'll take Little Big Planet PSP as well, since I already have KZ: Liberation).

I'd love to join in on some multiplayer nights with you guys, but I'm not a big online shooter fan (unless it's co-op stuff), and definitely not a COD fan. I do have quite a few multiplayer games, but no-one else seems to have them.

Me and my friend managed to finish Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising two nights ago. We only had the one mission to do, but hadn't been able to complete it because the network was down.

I bought my friend's copy of Dragon Quest IV, since he planned to trade it in for $4. Got it off of him for $10. Now I have even more games to finish by the end of the summer. I have been making progress with Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky though. Trying hard to stay on track with playing new games so that I can finish them up. I'm terrible with not finishing games. >.>

[@Shuy] Haha, it's all good but I just sent you a request just so I don't most likely forget later on.

The only game I have is UFC2010, lol. I traded everything away
and only kept that game cause I'd only get like 9$ for it from Amazon. XD

Since I'm using GF I just rent games via that source.
Honestly the only reason I'd get Black Ops is cause everyone else has it. -_____-"
Though I really wish BF3 came out like, NOW!!! NOW DAMNIT NOW!!!

Also I really think Activision/TreyArch are d#cks for screwing over IW!

And about the PSN thing, are you talking about the store or PSN itself?
Cause I was on PSN all day long event though I was play the Sly Collection offline.

[@Jon] Yeah it's all good depending if I get it by next week, but I'll let you know.
If you do wanna play it together, I'm good, but go ahead and trade it in so you don't lose any credit, it's all good.
I was already going to play with Haseo since he's going to keep it 'til Summer at least (new DLC map pack or something).

Online shooter night? What online games (FPS) do you have? I know you have Killzone 3, or did you trade that in (like me long ago).

Were you ever a Battlefield fan? I can understand why you wouldn't be a fan of COD, but BF is something I can see you being a fan of.

In Japan they aren't restoring PSN service apparently, according to the articles,
because the security isn't up yet or isn't what it should be. I'm not sure and
am just basing it off the video/article about it. May be up now?

I'm also debating something like GF. It would be useful to get games without spending
so much money on one game when money is kinda tight at the moment. I feel the same,
or rather felt the same about Black Ops as well. It was the big time game everyone
was playing online, so I got it mostly for the sake of having the big time online game.

You're on Summer break now, right, I'd say go for it if you don't have anything else to do (or a job, lol).
I'm only using GF until I get back into school, after that I'm going to cancel it.
The first month is cheap, then after it's like 23$ a month for 2 games out at once,
however they added a new 3-game service which costs an extra 10cents a day or something, so roughly 30,
but yeah you can play games fast and send them back in.

The only downfactor about GF is that so many people I guess use it, and since it is an online organization thing,
it takes a long time sometimes to get games (it depends on your Q I guess),
but usually say I returned my games on Monday, it'll take two days for the to receive it,
then about a day or two for them to send out a game, then it takes two days until you get the game, so roughly waiting a full week for that procedure.

The only thing with me is that I have one game I don't play anymore,
but I always have stuff to do online so waiting isn't so bad.
At first I wanted to get a long game to a game I can beat fast,
but since most of the time they send you a random game it's whatever.

I just wouldn't put like fighting games too close to each other or shooting games. Try to spread 'em out.

Right now I have the sly collection which'll last for a while since it's three games in 1 (plus mini-games),
and I'm trying to platinum all three so yeah, I'll have this title for a while.

The only game I can see me buying this year is really BF3 (depending on how busy I am with school).
Not sure how AC3 is going to manage or even Uncharted 3.

@DA - My main problem is that I don't like speaking to strangers in online games. I only like to speak to people I know. I'm a lot more comfortable with that, so I'm usually only available for co-op style games, or games that have squad chat. I also don't see much purpose in playing online shooters, competitively, with friends, since everyone just kind of goes their own way and does their own thing. I guess I just like to play games with friends that have actual objectives we need to aim for, rather than just running around and shooting whatever moves. There needs to be some sort of goal for me. As for what shooters I have:

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Killzone 2
Killzone 3
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
Metal Gear Online (this would be awesome, if Konami didn't have such stupid requirements for hosting your own game)
Haze
Lost Planet 2
Resistance 2
Borderlands
Uncharted 2

I really should update my list of online games from my last post.

Also. Is it alright If I add everyone's psn's?

[@Jon] You'll love Battlefield cause it is objective base.
In BF:BC2 there was a team deathmatch sort of, but it's different than COD.
Also since it's squad based (teams of four) you'll probably like it even more.

I don't think squads are getting bigger in 3 but they'll be more squads and you can only chat within that squad if I believe correctly.
You can also make lobbies and invite friends into your squads instead of having them join later,
although you can go to whatever squad you want mostly, but yeah it's easier in the gecko. Just something to think about.

Also Battlefield is more realistic than your typical run'n'gunners like KZ or COD.
If you try to do COD in Battlefield, you'll get sniped for being a careless idiot with no real skills.

Also right now it's COD's biggest rival. Respectively.

[@Zaku] Yeah go ahead. What games do you have?

Btw, new GF was shipped so no Portal 2 yet. :/

@DA —
I may get it, then. I guess it just depends on money. I know Blockbuster has a
things where you can pay a monthly thing to rent a game whenever you want, but you
can only have one game out at a time. That's not too bad, but you're limited to
what they have in stock at the time.

I also don't really play fighters or shooters. I only play Black Ops to play with
friends and I sometimes get a big urge to play a bunch online. I'm not much into
fighters at all, although I do enjoy Smackdown v. Raw games, but they're a
wrestling game, and then I really love Naruto Ninja Storm 2 or other anime fighters.

As far as games this year, I need a good RPG. If FF XIII-2 drops in the US this
holiday season [at the same time as the Japan release] I'll pick that up. Still
need to finish XIII, though. I also will prolly pick up Modern Warfare 3, and
maybe Battlefield 3 cause it looks so awesome. I'll also get NCAA Football 12 at some point.

Other than that I'll see what comes out. Prolly wont have money to do much till
Christmas anyway.

Also, I accepted you on PSN.

@Zaku —
I gave you mine in chat yesterday, but incase you didn't get it, it's "Sourunji" --
so feel free to add me whenever and I'll accept.

@Jon —
No Black Ops? We could have potentially played together if ya had it, haha. That's
really the only game I have that's online. Ninja Storm 2 is online, but I don't
really like the PVP in that game. Plus it's not the best online mode and can
only be 1v1 anyway.

Also in Black Ops, there's game modes like Domination and stuff that are objective
based rather than kill-kill-kill. Like you, I don't like always having to just
shoot to kill and enjoy a good objective-based game.

[@Shuy] I thought BB is going out of business.
I know they had to shut down a huge number of stores because they were loosing money (cause of Netflix and GF).
You can check on GF's website for prices. The first month is reasonable
and the way they charge you is also reasonable. You can also cancel anytime without fees.

Honestly I thought about getting Black Ops just for the fact that everyone on my damn PSN has it.
But I have a strange oath from IW, and if they do win their lawsuit, THEIR MW3 will be amazing as hell.
I do plan on getting BF3 though, that's a must, that does come out later this year.
If I get into school I told myself not to get caught into games, but maybe one or two games won't hurt.
I doubt I'll be using GF at the time, so I won't be able to play other better games that'll come out later in the year.

I'm waiting for Brink to get added to my amazon credit, then I'm using all that money for a mic, stand, filter, etc.

I hope they make the online better if they make Ninja Storm 3, which I think they will next year.
Hopefully the damn anime ends by this year so they can actually start it next year and finish it.
Online was horrible in that game, it's almost as bad as UFC2010's online, but worst in my opinion.

@Shuy: Yeah we should!

@DA: I heard Storm 3 was coming out at the end of this year xD.

In all honestly I'm only getting Brink because I heard the storyline is better suited for casual gamers.

@DA & Shuy: If your looking for a good single player rpg then should get Hyperdimension Neptunia. It'll annoy you a bit at first, but once you get a good 5 to 10 hours in the game becomes lol worthy. They did a good job overall except for the inuyasha SOTCM turn based system >_>

Re: Gendou Gamers Club 2
Link | by You're Not Alone! on 2011-05-20 19:10:00
@DA —
My friend told me about the BB thing, because he uses it for his games. I have no
idea about going out of business though, because they keep putting in those things
at stores around here where you can rent a movie from a machine for a dollar a night.

I actually use that service a lot, since it's at a Public like 30 seconds from my neighborhood.

I agree that MW3 is going to be awesome. The concept for the game is REALLY interesting
to me, and it may be the first FPS I get simply because I actually think the story,
gameplay, etc will be great. Like I said before, I'm not a FPS guy unless it's Halo,
but seeing as I don't have a 360 I can only play the first 2 Halo I own and play the
others with friends.

Battlefield 3 is another I may consider. It just looks amazing.

As for Ninja Storm, yeah, I hate the online for it. The lobby, matchmaking, and
all that good stuff is so bad. You can tell it wasn't really the intention of
the game to go online -- but then again, most anime-based fighters/games aren't
meant for the online experience. It's evident by how horrible the lag is online,
even when you're using a top-grade internet connection.

I don't think the anime will -end- anytime soon though. Naruto, Bleach, and One
Piece will have anime until the manga end; even though so much will be filler.
That's just how popular they are, whether that popularity is warranted or not is
another discussion for another day.

I think me and you talked about it before, but I could see Ninja Storm 3 sometime
at the end of this year or the beginning of next. They base the game's story on
the manga, as Ninja Storm 2's story was ahead of the anime at the time of the
release. I think a few more months will leave more than enough content for a
third ninja storm to have a equally as long [if not longer/more detailed] story as two.

@Zaku —
If Storm 3 really does come out, I'll be so pumped. Mainly because they've shown
they'll do the worldwide release rather than Japan then the rest a month or so
after. I loved the fact they did a worldwide thing.

I also have no idea what that game is, but I'll check it out. Also no idea what
Inuyasha game you're talking about.

Oh, and if you've added me on PSN I don't know yet. I'm playing Final Fantasy VII
and I can't check my dashboard thing. I need to be playing Black Ops, really, since
they have double XP. It's hilarious to me I'm enjoying a game from 1997 that was
a breakthrough in video games with creating 3D sprites, instead of playing a
brand new game that looks real on my PS3. Rofl.

Re: Gendou Gamers Club 2
Link | by on 2011-05-20 19:37:16 (edited 2011-05-20 19:43:42)
That would be great, but again, I'm mostly only interested if there is a squad-chat/private chat. I wouldn't mind games like Battlefield if there was stuff like that. I know that not everyone online is a complete bastard, but there are a lot of them nonetheless, so open chat is really not up my alley. Evidence of this can be found when we played the Killzone 3 Beta a while back. The strangers in most of the maps were all well and good, but I was a silent machine of death during the entire match.

I played a bit more of White Knight Chronicles a little while ago. The setting, world and design are really good, but I'm quite disappointed with the story so far. I'm mainly disappointed with the fact that you create your character at the start of the game, and then you barely get to see him outside of gameplay. During most cutscenes so far (in-game cutscenes mind you, not pre-rendered) my character was no-where to be seen. There was like a full 30 minutes worth of events, with characters fighting and talking and my character had completely vanished. Whenever he did show up, he was only visible for a few seconds and did absolutely nothing. Other characters barely seem to even acknowledge his existence. I hate playing sidekick to Leonard. >.>

I don't understand why you get to create your character if it just feels like he's not even there. I guess it's mostly for the Online Quests, but I'm sure there must have been a better way.

Anyway, I'm still probably going to go ahead and get the sequel. From what I'm reading about it so far, your customizable character will at least be able to transform, so maybe your character will get a bigger role in the second game.
