Vagabond Survivors [Started and Still Accepting]
Link | by on 2010-05-03 13:49:33 (edited 2010-05-22 08:54:27)
First, I would like to thank the other RP’s here on Gendou (Most influence from Free and Dream, with some influence from The 5 Seeds Project and Aetheria Story) that gave me the idea to create this one… And I would also like to thank all of you who participated in my first RP (Destiny Card Battle), for giving me an idea of how I have to plan out an RP and how to keep track of the time in one (sadly that one I’m not going to continue due to lack of posting after that one overnight lapse and the crazy time in it). Well that’s about it for thank you’s so let’s get started!!!

Plot

The world of Vagabond was once great. There had been so much new technology, so many advances in the sciences, it seemed that this world had almost become a Utopia. Almost, until a war known as the Ten Cycle War occurred, which lasted one thousand years. Finally, one day, all havoc breaks loose. Multiple volcanoes erupt, avalanches occur in the mountains, tornadoes rip across the plains, category 5 hurricanes spring up and wreck the shorelines in only one day, and there were at least 10 magnitude 10 earthquakes that day. All the towns and cities in this world were destroyed in a single day. It is estimated that only 50 people in all of Vagabond had survived this day, now known as ‘The Day of Destiny’.

However, a strange event occurred with the estimated 50 survivors. They gained the power of magic. There are two key types of magic, Divine or Chaos. Divine then goes off into 5 branches: Air, Hydro, Earth, Illusion, and Healing. Chaos also has 5 branches: Fire, Ice, Psychic, Gravitational, and Negation. No one has been known to control both key types of magic. Many have tried, however it only back fires on them, and from that point on they are not able to control any magic at all. (More about the different types of magic later in the post)

However, a different species was created on the Day of Destiny. The Monster. The monsters are mostly larger and more powerful than humans, however most are not as smart as humans. A few are on par with humans, however this type of Monster is very rare. Some are able to use magic, others aren’t. Many monsters only reside in Monster Prone areas of Vagabond, so most people don’t even see a monster in their lifetime.

After ‘The Day of Destiny’, the people that survived and gained magic were able to rebuild. They forgot about the technologies of the past as they rebuilt and learned more about the magic they now controlled. It is now year 3024 DR (Destiny Revolution), which is the same amount of years after the Day of Destiny. They are starting to go through a Scientific Revolution, where the new inventions can tap into the users magic supply to run, and the world is mostly peaceful except for the few mafia groups that exist. However, that sort of thing is still primitive. There is only one question posed to the people of Vagabond: What really happened in their past, and could it ever happen again?

Magic Guidelines

As stated in the Plot, the 50 survivors gained magic. It is not known how they gained these powers, but somehow they did. These powers have been passed on to the generations after them, but they remain virtually unchanged. There are 2 major types of magic in this world, which are then split into 5 branches each. People are born and are aligned to either Divine or Chaos. The parent’s types have no affect on what type their child is born aligned to.

Divine:

  • Air: The power to control the wind around the user. This power is not able to suck the oxygen around an opponent, however it is able to throw the opponent up into the sky with gusts of wind. How high into the sky depends on how skilled the used is with this branch. The user can also fly with this skill, but how high also depends on the skill with this branch.
  • Hydro: The power to control water. This power can come from any water source nearby the user, and if there is no power source it will drain water from the users own body.
  • Earth: The power to control the plants, rocks, and soil around the user. This power does not work with sand.
  • Illusion: The power to make the opponent and sometimes the user see things that are not really there.
  • Healing: The power to heal the user or another person. The severity of injuries that can be healed depends on the users skill with this branch.

Chaos:

  • Fire: The power to control and start fires.
  • Ice: The power to control ice and snow. When there is no ice around the user, the user can create it using the water in their body and then freezing it.
  • Psychic: The power to have an impact on the opponents mind. The severity and types of impact vary with the skill the user has with this branch.
  • Gravitational: The power to adjust the gravitational force around the user. This does allow the user to hover above the ground and allow them to adjust the force of gravity around their opponent, but how high and how much impact this has depends on the users skill with this branch.
  • Negation: Allows the user to cause a negative status to the opponent (such as poisoning them, paralyzing them, or burning them).

A person can learn up to 2 branches of the types they are aligned to. However, a user of Divine cannot control a branch of Chaos, and vice-versa. Many have tried over the years to do so, but the magic always backfires on them, making them not being able to use any type of magic for the rest of their lives. The second branch of magic that someone controls can never be as strong or stronger than the first branch they learned.

There have been wars in the past regarding magic types, because Divine thought all Chaos were evil, however since this theory has been proven to be false 200 years ago, there are no grudges held unless they have somehow survived from the past in someone’s family line.

Monster Guide

Also stated in the Plot, the Monster was created on the day of destiny. Monsters are usually ugly creatures, however some can bear resemblances to humans and animals, giving people called Monster Researchers questions that they might have originated from humans or an animal from a time around the day of destiny. Monster Researchers have made up a classification system for Monsters, classifying them by both their physical appearance and their abilities.

Classification:
  • Rank 1: Pretty easy to defeat. Usually about half the size of a full grown human. Monsters like this are common around the edge of monster prone areas. Rank 1 monsters cannot control magic.
  • Rank 2: Medium difficulty in defeating. About the size of a full grown human. They are the most common monsters to run into along the middle ground of a monster prone area, until you reach the center area. This rank can use magic.
  • Rank 3: Hard in difficulty to defeat. A little bit bigger than a Rank 2, but what gives this rank the advantage is that they can respond and think faster than the ranks lower than them. Rank 3 always appears in the center of monster prone areas. This rank can also use magic, and it bears the most resemblance to humans (although they still look much more reptile-like than a normal human, they walk on their hind legs and they respond faster than the ranks before them).
  • Rank 4: Very hard but also very rare. Always appear in the center area, very close to the core, of a monster prone area. About the size of a one story or two story building. This group can use magic, and like group 3 it can also respond fast, however they move slower than group 3 because of their size. The plus side of their size is that they have much more power in their attacks and they have more resistance against attacks to them.
  • Rank 5: Almost considered legendary since only about 5 people have ever seen one in Vagabond. It is said that the smallest one is the size of a 3 story building, but the largest known to exist (whether it has been seen or not) is the size of an 8 story building. It is said that one shows up only once in 250 to 500 years, and even then they go away after awhile, where they go off to is a mystery. They are said to be a very hardy bunch, and no normal physical attacks will work on them. Even then, only the strongest of magical attacks might have a chance of working. They are in the core of monster prone areas when found, and every single person who has ever come to see one all say the same thing: Run away if you ever find one, or suffer the consequences that come with the rarest and most powerful monster rank of existence.

Now, with all of these terms, what is a monster prone area? Well, in simple terms, it’s an area where monsters are found. The edge of a monster prone area is where the Rank 1 monsters just start to appear. When one ventures deeper into the area, the start seeing Rank 2 monsters. This area is called the middle ground, since it is in between the center of a monster prone area and its’ edge. When you find the monsters become difficult to defeat, and they act faster and seem more human like, you have hit the center of a monster prone area with Rank 3 monsters. If someone goes in even further, then they can come very close to the core of a monster prone area, along with the Rank 4 monsters that might start to appear. And if one ever even comes close to the core of a monster prone area, a Rank 5 monster might happen to be there. Or not. Now, why do Rank 5 monsters reside only in the core of a monster prone area? Researchers say that most cores are said to have archeologically significant information hidden there, and that the monsters are trying to protect it from the humans of Vagabond, to keep it a secret to them. But, no one really knows as so few people have even made it to the core of a monster prone area and came back out alive.

A Briefing on Mafia Groups

Mafia groups are somewhat mysterious in Vagabond. It is known they exist, but not know is much about them. What is known is that there are many mafia rivalries in Vagabond, and mafia heads can have a few assassins under their league if they need to get rid of someone. The mafia only exist in Diviny, Aurora, and Tetrathon, and even though they make up only a small percent of the population in these cities, they have much power.

The Land of Vagabond

Go here for the map

This section will go over the land of Vagabond; the countries of it, their rulers, the geography of each country, and a little bit about the people of the area. This section will go in clock-wise order, starting with the country that has the Bay of Change in it and then working our way around, then ending with the mountainous country in the center of Vagabond. I forgot to mention this in the map key, so please note that the stars are the cities of Vagabond, and the circles are towns (The difference is that cities are significantly larger than a town).

Terraco - The Populated yet down earth region.

- Government: Council of High Officials (14 people who come up with laws and maintain order in Terraco).

- River: Shimmer River (Origin: Bay of Change)

- Island: Lily Island

- Cities/Towns:

~ Capitol: Aurora: (Located at the Bay of Change and Shimmer River) The “Center of Vagabond.” The most populated city in Vagabond.

~ Glorified City: (Located North of Aurora along the Shimmer River) The City of Parting Ways, it was once a huge trading city, only now to have most of its’ population move to Aurora.

~ Highpoint: (Located on the Bay of Change, along the Long Rue Trail) The Town of a First Stop, it is the first stop on the Long Rue Trail.

~ Alonay: (Located on peninsula along the Bay of Change, the starting point of Astrobelt Train Transit Line) The Town of a Breeze, Alonay is the starting point of the train line that runs across Vagabond, and is always very busy. The entire town depends on the train line for goods, jobs, and tourism.

~ Shift of Fates: (Located right on the Water Flow Change, across from Lily Island, also on the Long Rue Trail) The Small Scientific Town, this town was first created to study the water flow change, and now has become a well known town of all sciences.

- Geography: In the deep hills Terrabond is cold and snowy almost year round (except for the hottest weeks of summertime). Around Glorified City, is cold every season except for Summer. From Aurora to the Shift of Fates, there are 4 distinct seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter) with their own characteristics. Below the Shift of Fates it is slightly cold in the winter, but warm Spring and Fall, with slightly hotter temperatures in the summer. It is slightly hilly throughout Terrabond, but it is really noticeable in the Northwestern region of the country. However, below Highpoint it starts to become very flat and plain-like.

Syria - The Flat Land

- Government: Monarchy (Queen Bethina Patalia)

- River: Turn-Back River (Origin: Mountains)

- Cities/Towns:

~ Capitol: Vinici: (Located along the Long Rue Trail and Turn-Back River) City of Four Paths, this city is very quaint and hardly seems like a city.

~ Arius: (Located North of Vinici along Turn-Back River) The Town of Strange Goods, this town is known for producing much of the food for much of Vagabond.

- Geography: A very flat region with slightly cold winters, warm springs and falls, and hot summers.

Phantorra - The Mysterious Land of Two Sides.

- Government: Monarchy plus Guide (The Guide, officially called the Guide of Worth, is a group of 5 people who help to guide the king and make laws for him to pass. The king is King Garoth Scyld.)

- Rivers: Toxic River (Origin: Mountains), Purest River (Origin: Filtration Oasis).

- Lake: Filtration Oasis

- Islands: Chain of the End (the Southern-most and Eastern-most lands in Vagabond)

- Cities/Towns:

~ Capitol: Tetrathon: (Location: along the ocean, on the Western side of the pass made by Long Rue Route between the mountain chain) The Slow-paced City, this city is a major vacation spot.

~ Blitzreiter: (Located on the Eastern side of the Filtration Oasis and on the Long Rue Trail, North of Tetrathon) Home of the Ignot Culture, the people here all have a very heavy accent (this accent is very similar to a German accent).

~ Bibliothéque: (Located on the Western side of the Filtration Oasis along the Triangulum Path) The Philosopher Capitol of Vagabond, it is a town of green surrounded by a vast desert. Yet, it still thrives by being home to the greatest thinkers of Vagabond. The people in this town (as well as the rest of the Triangulum Path), have an accent that is similar to a French accent.

~ Église: (Located on the Southeast corner of the Triangulum Path) The Spiritual Town, the people of this town come from Tetrathon and Phantôme, both groups came to this town for religious freedom, making it the religious center of Vagabond. Like the other towns of the Triangulum Path, the people here also have accents (one that is like a French accent).

~ Phantôme: (Located on the Southwest corner of the Triangulum Path, along the coast of the ocean) The Town of Spirits, this town is mostly abandoned except for a small group of people who refuse to leave and the adventurers who come to this town. The town literally becomes a “ghost town” at nighttime, as spirits appear here. This town once was the capitol of Phantorra, however a great storm struck it about 300 years ago, taking many lives of the once-great city and moving the capitol to Tetrathon.

~ Sterling: (Located along the Long Rue Trail, on the Eastern side before the mountain pass) The Path of West and East, this town acts as a gateway between the East and West of Vagabond. The people of this town have a German-like accent.

~ Étoile: (Located on the island closest to Vagabond in the Chain of the End), Where the Night Reigns, this town is a town full of Astronomers since it is so easy to see the stars here. The people of this town have an accent similar to a French accent (like the people who live in the three towns of the Triangulum Path).

~ Last Point: (Located on the Island farthest from Vagabond in the Chain of the End) The Town of Everlasting Memories, very few people have ever been to this island due to it’s isolation from the rest of the world, however the ones who go there say that it has this enchanting beauty about it that makes one want to stay there.

- Geography: The geography of Phantorra is very diverse. East of the mountain chain it is very flat and plain-like, but west of the mountains it is hilly west until the Purest River and north until the Filtration Oasis. Southwest of the Oasis it is one large desert, and Northwest of the Oasis it becomes a range of Plateaus with cliff valleys (but no one lives in this cliff valley region because it is a monster prone area). The islands have a few hills in them and they also have a few forests, but these islands are surprisingly comfortable in temperature year round. The climate of the Eastern Plains of Phantorra has hot summers, warm falls and springs, and cool winters. West of the mountains, south of Blitzreiter and east of the desert is very humid and have very hot summers, hot falls and springs, and warm winters. The desert is hot year round, and North of Blitz Reiter (including the cliff valley areas), have hot summers, warm falls and springs, and cool winters.

Sorancon - The Land of the Brave

- Government: Monarchy (King Russ Conly)

- Cities/Towns:

~ Capitol: Diviny: (Located on the Western end of the Astrobelt Train Transit Line) The City of Reflection, Diviny is the second largest city in Vagabond (the largest is Aurora). Diviny is also called the “birthplace of Light”, since so many important people of the Light magic division were born here.

~ Honest: (Located south of Diviny on the Long Rue Trail), A Small Town of the Forest People, this town is often said to be the most “at nature” because the people of this town rely on the forest for their livelihood.

- Geography: It is very flat around the coastal areas of Sorancon, but the further West one goes the hillier it becomes. In the Northeastern section of the country there is Ockham Pass, the largest pass between the chain of mountains in Vagabond. This entire pass has been bought out by Astrobelt Train Transit Line. The climate of Sorancon has four distinct seasons; cold winters, cool spring and fall, and warm summers.

Polarus - The Land of New Beginnings

- Government: Monarchy (Queen Natalia Faith)

- River: Frozen River (Origin: Mountains)

- Cities/ Towns:

~ Capitol: Thornancia: (Located at the end of the Long Rue Trail) The City of the Gates, Thornancia is a walled city, and because of that it has a controlled population. It is deemed as the best city to live in Vagabond because it can kick out the people the city officials deem “unworthy”.

~ Northern Gateway: (Located in the far North along the Frozen River) The Cold Town to the Unknown, this town was originally built as a whaling community. It continues to serve with that purpose to this very day.

- Geography: Polarus has three different climates. In Southern Polarus, which is mostly plains and a few hills, it is very cold in the winter, cool in the spring and fall, and warm in the summer. In the North and West of Polarus, along the coast, it is very cold in the winter, cold in the spring and fall, and cool in the summer. And in the center of Polarus, with all of it’s mountains and hills, it is very cold almost year round except for summer, and even then it is still cold.

Archectra - No Man’s Land

- Government: None

- Rivers: Turn-Back River (Origin: Mountains), Toxic River (Origin: Mountains)

- Cities/Towns: None

- Geography: There are a few forests at the edge of this land, but it is mostly mountainous. The climate is said to be cold year round, but no one knows for sure. No one lives in Archectra because there are so many monsters roaming in this land.

Now for the RULES:

  • No god-modding and no imbalanced characters. I will warn you if your character seems to be too powerful, but if you have to be reminded multiple times then you will be removed from this RP and your character will be killed!
  • Do not over control another palyer’s character. Simple actions (such as helping a person up if they fall or letting them follow you somewhere) are fine, but doing more than that is not allowed!
  • Do not go off the storyline! If you have an idea, then you can PM me about it and I’ll see if I can incorporate it into the story somehow, but don’t just go off and start your own little story! Stick to the plot!!!
  • Killing will be allowed. If it’s a monster, make the fight fair. Let other players help (if they are around), and don’t make your character look all-powerful. The monster can hurt your character too! If it’s a person, just make sure you have their agreement to killing them.
  • No loners! In this RP you must interact with others! No exceptions! It is fine if your character is quiet or shy, but they can’t be a loner forever or else they won‘t get anywhere.
  • Always post the Location and Time. Time will go like this: Morning, Early Afternoon, Late Afternoon, and Night. Do not advance the time! The person who is allowed to post a time change (like changing the time in posts from Early Afternoon to Late Afternoon) is me! (This is only because I don’t want the time to get crazy, so this rule must be followed!)
  • No one-liner posts please! Also, do not express emotion with things like “:D“. You can write it out.
  • Only 1 character per person. Multiple minor characters are allowed, but only one major character per person. (This rule is only to avoid people getting confused in this RP.) Also, characters must be 16 or older.
  • Romance is always welcome (In fact, I support it too!), just keep it PG-13!
  • No more than 4 posts a day per person please!
  • Script of novel post, it doesn’t matter. Just make sure others can understand what’s going on. Just please don’t make you posts in first person point of view.
  • If you are going to be absent for an extened amount of time (2+ days), then please make a post saying so.
  • If you have to drop this RP, please PM me!
  • Questions? Ideas? All you need to do is PM me!
  • Use your imagination! And, the most important rule, have fun!

Character Sheet:

- Name: (First and last, along with any titles your character might have)
- Age: (16 or older please!)
- Gender: (…)
- Weapon: (No guns at all!!! Spears, hammers, swords, bow and arrow, staffs, etc. are allowed. Only one weapon, except for Dual Swords and Sword and Shield. Note that the staff isn‘t a physical weapon, but it will boost your magic skill.)
- Magic: (If any magic; Must state the type you are aligned to, then the branches aligned to as well. Maximum of 2 branches. Note that you can learn another branch throughout the RP if you don’t start out with 2.)
- Abilities: (Up to 2 unique abilities that don’t have to involve your magic. No time traveling or teleporting!)
- Country: (What country of Vagabond your character comes from.)
- Personality: (No loners!)
- Bio: (A short summary of your character’s life. Nothing too dark or mysterious, and again, no loners!)
- Other notes: (Any other information on your character but don’t know where to put it? Then put it here! If you think you mentioned it all before, then this section isn‘t required.)
- Appearance: (Picture preferred, but a description is always fine.)

- Name: Evelyn Verrou
- Age: 16
- Gender: Female
- Weapon: Dual Swords
- Magic: Chaos- Ice and ??? (Unknown at the moment, hasn‘t learned the second type yet.)
- Abilities:
- Ice Fusion: Able to fuse her swords with ice to create a more powerful sword. This makes her swords larger and even more damaging.
- Ice Mirrors: She is able to put up multiple ice shields that give off her reflection, which is able to confuse her opponent to a certain degree. It also makes it harder for the opponent to move with so many walls of ice in their way.
- Country: Phantorra
- Personality: Nice and caring to her friends, yet to people she doesn’t know she seems cold to them. This is only because she is very shy. She doesn’t trust people immediately, and they have to earn her trust.
- Bio: Born in Bibliothéque as the daughter of a powerful man there (in both politics and magic ability), Evelyn has grown up with a philosophical view on life. She hasn’t had many friends due to her father being so powerful there (she was friends with the children of other nobles), so when she was 14 she moved out of Bibliothéque, to create a name for herself. She left to go somewhere where people wouldn’t know of her father, and she found herself in Aurora. She is waiting there, hoping that the time for her adventure will come soon.
- Other Notes: Evelyn is the daughter of the mayor of Bibliothéque. She is his only child. She is expected to do great things because of her father, but she hasn’t had much luck with that so far.

Link | by FenrisOkamishiba on 2010-05-03 14:19:22 (edited 2010-05-16 10:16:59)
- Name: Fenris Imperator, The Grey Knight

- Age: 23

- Gender: Male

- Weapon: Sword and Shield

- Magic:
1st Branch: Divine - Air
2nd Branch: Divine - Healing

- Abilities:
Heaven's Teeth/Sky Hammer: The basic concept of these abilities is the same, infusing a weapon with Air magic, the result
is different depending whether he uses it on his sword or his shield. When used with the sword it creates a constant gust of
wind blowing along the very edge of the weapon, increasing it's cutting ability. When used with the shield it encases the shield
in an air shell which when struck releases a tremendous burst of wind energy.

- Country: Polarus

- Personality: Likes to take life as it comes, but when the situation calls he will get serious. He also has a wild streak
in him, giving him a bit unpredictability in and out of battle.

- Bio: Fenris has been trained in battle since he was 3. The villaged he lived in bordered a monster infected area and thus
he needed to learn fast how to defend himself. The village had to be abandoned when the monsters started spreading causing
the villagers to spread and find new homes, ending up on all over Polarus. This happened when Fenris was 12 years old.

His family moved into the Capitol of Polarus where Fenris' skills were noticed by the old man who had taken them in. The
old man was a former Knight of the Realm and he began training Fenris in the skills of the Knights, including literacy,
dancing, etiquette and such as well as magic and fighting.

At Fenris' 16th birthday the old mand granted him the title of The Grey Knight and told him he had learned all that he
could teach. The next day Fenris said goodbyes to the old man and his parents and left to seek his own adventures.

- Other notes: Fenris has been working as a mercenary of sorts for most of the time he's been traveling his latest job
was a special request from the mayor of Bibliothéque. He is supposed to watch over his daughter, Evelyn Verrou, and
give her assistance should it be required, but he is not to reveal his presence until such a time and even if it's
required he should not reveal that her father hired him to do it.

Fenris also carries with him a ring infused with Fire Magic, this ring requires few moments to activate and the flame
it creates isn't strong enough to deal any damage. The most common use Fenris has for this ring is to light campfires or torches.

Yeah a sword and shield is fine. I'll add that to the weapons list as well.

I'll join in too. I'll try a different type of character, since I usually use the same kind all the time.

Name: Miranda Walker
- Age: 22
- Gender: Female
- Weapon: Scythe (Similar to this, although not curved downward as much)
- Magic: Type 1 - Gravitational, Type 2 - Psychic
- Abilities: Shockwave - By concentrating her magical energy, she is able to launch shockwaves from her weapon by swinging it (Attack flies forward at the same angle that the weapon was swung).
- Country: Sorancon
- Personality: She is well mannered and reserved most of the time, but becomes rather talkative around people she knows well. She has a somewhat conflicted mind, when she observes couples or hears talk of love she begins to grow depressed and quiet, but despite these feelings she is often defensive and quick to shy away when it comes to romance.
- Bio: She was born with relatively old parents and by the time she had reached 19 they had passed away of natural causes. She left her home in the capital soon afterward due to the stigma that the city was the birthplace of important Divine magic users, while Miranda herself was born as a Chaos attributed magic user. She began traveling to other cities in an attempt to find a welcoming place to go about her training and life.
- Other notes: She is poor at using her gravitational magic on living opponents mainly due to the fact that she focuses on using it in a supporting role. For example, by increasing the gravity on her weapon during a downward swing to increase the impact, reducing gravity on the weapon to make it easier to control or allowing her to jump higher than normal.
- Appearance: Photobucket

I'm in. Reserve me a spot.

Name: Sir Jonathan Barthandelus
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Weapon: Two-handed sword
Magic: DIVINE- Earth and Healing
Abilities:
> Iron Body- Jonathan can withstand injuries that would badly maim or kill a normal man.
The impact of such deadly injuries are lessened, and smaller injuries can be negated altogether.
> Metalcraft- Jonathan's powers of Earth magic, combined with his blacksmithing knowledge,
allows him to create high-quality objects from various ores.

Country: Phantorra, City of Blitzreiter- Landsknecht Fellowship

Personality: Loudmouthed and zealous, Jonathan is absolutely dedicated to the Landsknechts
of Blitzreiter and their code of honor. He has a habit of charging into battle with no regard
for plans or backup- and he somehow always manages to not die painfully (though he doesn't
always get to kick ass either when he does so).

Bio:

Jonathan was an orphan found by a Landsknecht during a raid on a monster-attacked town. The town refused to take him in, as they had little resources left and could not be troubled to take another orphan in. So, the knight took Jonathan in and raised him, teaching him swordsmanship, smithing and social manners as well as magic, reading and writing. Gradually, Jonathan grew to love his father, eventually announcing his intent to become a Landsknecht. The old man objected, saying that Jonathan should have better things in store for him than a future of endless war.

When his foster father was crippled during a battle with a drunken ex-Landsknecht, his father realized that he could not keep Jonathan from doing what he wanted to do. After his father died, Jonathan too the first step in joining Fellowship, wielding the last suit of armor and the last sword his father had forged.

Now, he has begun a long and arduous trek through the cities of Vagabond, searching for a way to make his name in the world- and bring fame to the Barthandelus name.

Other notes:

The Landsknecht Fellowship- A band of roving blacksmith-warriors who protect the outskirts of Phantorra from monsters and raiders.
They are dedicated to the ideals of chivalry, honor, justice, and the protection of the innocent.

The Landsknechts are led by the Knights of the Iron Round, thirteen of the strongest and most experienced Knights.
They are responsible for maintaining discipline among the rest by rewarding those whose dedication and disclipline is exemplary and punishing
those who commit grave breaches of their code (ex: massacring innocents, rape, extortion). Aside from this, the Knights of the Round serve as
liaisons to the outside world, negotiating with non-Landsknecht officials.

No two Landsknechts are ever alike, thanks to their penchant for crafting weapons and armor. The only identifying mark they have
is the symbol of the Fellowship emblazoned somewhere on their armor.

@ Jon- Your profile looks good.

@ Icarael- So far your profile is good, but I have a question about the Iron Body ability. For the major injuries that would badly hurt or kill a person, your character is still taking a fair amount of damage from it, but the amount of damage just wouldn't be as severe as it normally would, right?

@ Toyumi: Yes, Iron Body doesn't negate the damage, it lessens it. I'll edit my profile to add that detail.

Part of the New Breed of Gendou RPers: Haseo, Fenris, Roxas, Zero, Toyumi and Kyosuke.

@ Icarael- Okay then the ability is good.

@ Jon- I'm hoping to get at least 8 players (including myself) before I start. And when we do start I'll be doing like what Free and Dream is doing and will still accept players without a PM. So I would like to have 4 more people join before starting.

@Toyumi - Alright, just wondering what your outlook on things is.

I wish whatever is keeping people busy is over with soon, I've been bored senseless with how dead the forums are.

Oh, and with regards to the monster encounters, will you be in control of that or will we be expected to set up encounters on our own?

@ Jon- No problem. And the thing that's keeping people away are all the finals/ other exams that have been popping up since summer break is going to start soon. Although surprisingly I haven't been bogged down that much, even though my finals are in 2 months... But this is an RP thread and I don't want to go on too much about that...

And as for the monster encounters, I plan on getting the people that join into a group. It will be easier to handle this way, plus I can take control the monster encounters when there's a lack of action (or if one has to occur for the plot). But if you (or any other player for that matter) wants a monster encounter for some reason, just say something about it (OOC or PM) and it can happen.

I want to join too. But can somebody please tell me how to post images in my post????
_______________________________________________________________________________

- Name: Sosuke Aizen
- Age: 25
- Gender: Male
- Weapon: A katana named Kyōka Suigetsu (Mirror Flower, Water Moon). It looks like a normal katana. The only decoration is the tsuba, which is a hexagon instead of a rectangle. The two sides parallel to the blade are long, whereas the four sides above and below the blade are shortened, making it into almost a diamond or prism-like shape. It has a green handle.
- Magic: Primary - Illusion, Secondary - Hydro
- Abilities:
(1) Kyōka Suigetsu Illusion Boost - Aizen's sword, Kyōka Suigetsu was a gift from his mother who originally wielded it. Using it grants a huge boost to his natural abilities at illusions. In particular if the enemy is looking directly at the blade and the command 'Shatter' is spoken, Aizen is able to place the enemy under an 'Absolute hypnosis' which controls the five senses to the point that it can make the target misinterpret another person's form, shape, mass, feel and smell to be that of the enemy. When he turns off the hypnosis by force of will, the image shown melts away/shatters. Kyōka Suigetsu's Absolute Hypnosis is almost flawless; even if the target is aware that they are under the hypnosis, they cannot resist its influence. However, those with considerable power and skill themselves may be able to note slight differences in the illusions compared to the real thing, even if they are not able to determine what precisely is different and it's effects are not long lasting.
(2) Snapshot - An ability perfected by Aizen's father (a former Colonel in the army) whom was a master Hydro user. It involves using gloves with special arcadic runes that are made of a material called "pyrotex/ignition cloth" that splits water molecules in the air to create explosions by snapping his fingers. Aizen has not mastered this yet as he has trouble controlling the power and size of his explosions. Also, he cant use this ability if his gloves are wet.
- Country: Vinici, Syria
- Personality: Aizen is a surprisingly polite, soft-spoken intellectual, often addressing his students and colleagues by their given names. He rarely shows any sign of alarm or distress and often has entire situations planned out well in advance. He also appears to be a very kind, well-respected individual and is looked up to by many.
- Bio: Aizen was born to a female illusion user and a male hydro user. His parents gave him a rather happy childhood until he was 13-14. At this time, several of their friends were being attacked by a pair of Rank 4 monsters named Freki and Greki. His parents rushed and sacrificed themselves to both kill the monsters as well as save their friends leaving him an orphan with a minor fortune. In return, the people whose lives were saved all pitched in to help raise Aizen. Queen Bethina Patalia of Syria heard of their brave acts and named them heroes. She offered Aizen the chance to live in her home and learn from her best swordsmen and fighters. Aizen accepted and studied swordsmanship and several other subjects. He eventually became a teacher at the age of 17-18 he has been teaching for around 7-8 years now. As he has never let up in his training, he is currently an extremely potent swordsmaster and ambidextrous. Since he does not wear any armor, he often blocks or dodges when in combat.
- Other notes: As a former teacher, Aizen posses a large amount of knowledge in several subjects due to this he is often referred to as 'The Professor'. He learned illusions and his hydro skills while learning teaching. He does not like to attack first in a fight and often prefers peaceful negotiations. He is very neutral minded and does not care if someone uses Chaos magics as to him, magic is magic. Many people in his hometown joke that although he looks like his father, they are thankful that his personalty is like his mothers as his father was a rather loud, funny and rowdy person. Due to his age he hopes to settle down soon and have a family. He recently left Vinici to acquire more knowledge.

@ Fenris- Your profile is good.

@ Night- Thanks for joining! And your profile looks good too.

@ Poster above me (Lol sorry can't see a name on the avy)- Hm... I'm a bit concerned that the second ability is a bit too powerful, but as long as your character can't use it perfectly then I guess it's okay. Also, could you put an exact age? (instead of 24-25, can it be 24 or 25).

And for that image, you would use [img src="http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs071.snc3/13832_218463053627_607838627_4269837_943805_n.jpg"], replacing the [ and ] with < and >.

Thanks a bunch Toyumi. By the way, my name is Roxas678. I also already adjusted the age as per your request. I also nerfed the 2nd skill a bit to give it a weakness. I'm still new so I'm not too good in creating avatars. Sorry for any problems TT

- Name: Geist "The Phantom" (Note: Geist has no last name)
- Age: 19
- Gender: Male
- Weapon: Cards and Knives
- Magic: Divine: Illusion and Air
- Abilities: -Phantasm: A dome of illusions surrounds the area of his opponent as well as him. It disorients the people's sigh as well as touch, however it leaves all the other senses in tact. Whatever the user sees will start swirling, and if cut, the wound will feel like it's burning. This skill leaves Geist extremely tired.
-Gale Force: A small tornado appears arround him and gathers up objects from the surrounding area. The tornado then expels the picked up objects in all directions.
- Country: Phantorra. ~ Phantôme
- Personality: Cold, quiet, cunning, untrustworthy

- Bio: Geist was once a cheerful boy who grew up in the country of Phantorra. He was raised by his parents to be a nice young gentleman. His parents were aristocrats so he was often left at home with the nanny whom abused him. His parents never found out and it kept happening. However, when his parents were home, they spent all their time together. Geist's father was would teach him Iluusion one day, then his mother would teach him Air the next. Learning two magics at the same time proved difficult but he was able to do it. One day, a freak storm hit Phantôme and almost no one lived. Geist's parents were killed in the rubble of the mansion. Geist was forced to live on the streets and steal food from any of the survivors since they would not take him in or give him any food. It was then that geist began to question human life. He turned cold and quiet, and pretty violent. On a few occasions, he killed people that wouldn't give him any food. As he grew up, he expanded upon the magic he already knew and began to practice more and more. He cast aside his old name and took on a new one, Geist, that phantom. Since no one in the town would give him food, he resorted to mercenary work, and became an assassin. Until now, he has been living off the money he has earned from killing people, and he feels no guilt about killing them, since human life has no value to him.

- Other notes: One of Geist's piggest pet peaves is pronouncing his name wrong. It's often mispronounced and he's gotten really sensitive to it. It's pronounced Guy-st, instaed of Gay-st. The cards he figth with are made of metal, not paper, and are coated in a poisin that disorients the senses a little, adding to his illusions effectiveness. He wears a mask to hide the identity of his former self, so that anyone that might've knew him when he was young, won't recognize him now.

@ Haseo- Your profile looks good.

@ Zen- Alright I only notice two things wrong with your profile. One is that your character has two weapons (a katana and daggers) when there can only be one weapon per character (except for dual swords, sword and shield, and daggers and knives). The other is that you didn't explain your abilities so if you could do that as well then the profile will be good.

@ All- Alright seems like there's a fair amount of people who joined this RP so I'm going to start it this Saturday. Just so everyone knows, I also plan on the RP starting in Aurora with all of the characters being there at that time (whether they live there or they're just there for business or if they stopped there while traveling, it doesn't matter I just want everyone in the same city to start this). I'm doing this because it will be a lot easier and faster to get into the action if all of the characters are in Aurora when starting this.
