Bakemonogatari centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who is almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjōgahara, who infamously never talks to anyone, falls down the stairs into Koyomi's arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs next to nothing, in defiance of physics. After being threatened by her, Koyomi offers his help, and introduces her to Meme Oshino, a strange middle-aged man living in an entire abandoned building, who helped him stop being a vampire.

pretty good anime... if you like word play... this anime primarily focuses on conversations... with some fair amount of parodies from other series....The events of the previous chapters play an important role in the subsequent ones.

i recommend it to be watched

I've seen a couple of episodes so far & it is something i would like to finish watching whenever i get the time. I agree that if you miss a previous episode that one may get lost in what happens in the next one. Supposedly from what i read the creator Nisio Isin is well known for using this kind of style in the majority of his works.

Another thing i've learned is that the main heroine Hitagi Senjogahara is quite popular in a wide range of doujin/doujinshi that are made based on this series.

I stopped on episode five, and eventually dropped it,
but I plan on picking it back up again cause there's hotter girls.

Thing is the damn internet is down in our dorm room, so I haven't been able to even come online at all since Monday morning. -_____-"

ahh my favorite from last season. I enjoy everything this series had to offer, except the 10th episode. They sure had the nerves to air an unfinished work... So i'll have to wait for the dvd release to see a proper episode 10... dammit.

Other things that made me like this series so much is that this has an ending song i like the most out of all 2009's songs (and the fact that a newcomer singer sang it). Also, best last episode from yesterday's season (although technically, ep 12 is not really the last. There are 3 more episodes will be aired online).

There is one thing I was kinda looking forward to seeing whilst I was watching this, and it's probably crossed your minds too much. How Araragi came to be a vampire and how his problem got resolved. Okay, so they did show it in the first episode for just a couple of minutes; what I wanted to see was the whole thing as an episode or two.
Who knows? Maybe it'll be done as a DVD special or something. (Just wishful thinking)

this is one of my favourite anime because of the word play and references to myths, legends and the like, as well as the awesome character interactions. araragi has chronic hero syndrome, he just HAS to keep helping any oddities he meets lol

I like this series a LOT. For one thing, the producers came up with some very creative ways to save money. XD
Great music, too. And that's one of the things we care about most on this site.
Still no news on ep14-15? Ah well, we'll just have to wait...

In a world of anime that focuses on moe and action, I really like the intersting dialouge. It's very clever. I like the way its presented, nice color and animation. Not that the girls aren't pretty in this series, but I don't pick an anime because the girls are pretty, being a female myself.

I love the way they shade the BG things, ie telephone poles etc. with white and black. Lovely use of repeated elements. The interesting layout and design and presentation entertain the viewer for lack of action etc. Though it does have a lot of interesting scenes, too.

The only flaw is this is going to be hard to translate into English. In some ways, I hope they don't. A lot of the world play's going to be lost, or not as good, especially in the novels. Which is kind of annoying since I do want to read the novels. Must learn Japanese...
