I honestly don't see what the huge deal is. My friend and girlfriend are going nuts for this, but I don't see the big deal. They both have PSP's and DS's. The DSi is really just the Nintendo version of a PSP with a cell phone quality camera slapped on and the backwards compatibility removed. The only honest to goodness, legit improvement I can understand for getting this would be the larger screens, because larger screens are always a nice thing to have. Otherwise, you would need to not have a PSP and/or DS to warrant this purchase. Then again, I'm just being a spoilsport. I just don't understand why everyone goes berserk for another technological Swiss Army Knife, devices that have all sorts of functions but don't do any of them well. :/    |

I would only go crazy over the DSi if it has something like a 3G system available during wi-fi connection.Most of the preview of the DSi only features the camera system & sound editing and that's the only new fuctions the DSi has to offer.The rest of the function like Web Surfing,Storing Images,Music & Videos can already be done with any DS model with a supported flashcart.I don't see the point of buying the DSi when you already have a Nintendo DSlite     |

Exactly, if you don't have one but always wanted a DS then you could go with the DSi. It does cost like the same price as a PSP which does multimedia better so if you are looking for the media functions then just buy a PSP. If you are more interested in the DS games then you can get a DS Lite for 50 dollars or so less. |

being that the DSi lacked its backwards compatibility makes it less than the DS Lite... only thing that was good was they were able to enhance "user-interaction" via teh camera.. which gives off pretty much teh same as an "Eye Toy"... but I think that I'mma still use my phone to take pics when I dun have my slr w/ me, edit it in PS for a more "nicer" look... >.> sound/music editor = good if your mp3 player dun do that.. XD bigger screen = a plus... no questions about it... thinner unit = just for teh design... I'd agree w/ Jonathon in teh fact that you might want to prefer DS Lite than this unless, you are teh kind of "in-trend" which is.. a no-no. I wish PSP 2 wouldn't be released w/o any new something worthwhile.. XD

It looks like the thing they're making the biggest deal about is the camera...but how's the picture quality? It's only 3 megapixels, just 1 megapixel better than my phone -__- I don't really understand the sound/music editor...unless you like doing that sort of thing >___< And the voice recorder...that might be helpful to remind yourself of things you have to do...but other than that... O___o It's understandable that they made the screens bigger and made it a tad bit thinner, but slapping on useless things to make it LOOK better is just bleh, not worth buying it. And there's no backwards compatibility on it?! D: I actually wasn't even aware that there was going to be a new DS...maybe that's what all the "NEW DS, COMING SOON!!" signs at work are all about XDDD

@BTL- It's not even a 3 mpxl camera, it's a 0.3, so it's actually worse than most cell phones. |

lolz!!! well i just thought of something. i dont have any GBA games for the backwords compatibility thing so its preaty useless to me. another thing is that i wont be able to get a cell phone for another 3 years, unless i want my parents to by me one and then it becomes a burden to do more crap to pay for the bills. the psp thing i agree about, but the problem is that the psp have good games, but not that many i like. the ds lite for me is a bit borring, cus all i can do is play games. The good thing about the DSI for me is that i get the camara WITHOUT haveing to buy a cellphone (since i cant get one). another thing is that the MUSIC player, is better then my crappy mp3 that my parents always take. another thing is that the applications i can get for the dsI includes emulators!!! i can play my classic zelda games WITHOUT haveing to reprogram the thing. :P The dsI is basicly my cell phone without haveing to pay the minutes XD. also i have a linksys wireless link at my house so its cool that i can use that free "comunity" access to my advantage. :P so if i get grounded i can still go on gendou. The picture edit thing, hate it dont like it but still cool to me. :P The music thing, odd choice, but good for me! XD The GBA compatability is no problem with me cus i dont use it any way. The WiFi link thing is cool with me. FREE INTERNET!!! XD the applications is fine but alittle too much like the wii the Chip thing is okay as well, i got plenty too spare (get like 5 for my psp but never able to keep it for long) and The fact that the camara is only .3 mp really doesnt matter too me. i just like the game-apps-music-internet-and radio apps. :P bet you didnt know that you can find better apps for it now can ya? XD |

Memory Stick is like a Sony proprietary format, so Nintendo wouldn't support it. "The WiFi link thing is cool with me. FREE INTERNET!!! XD" Keep in mind though that there has to be a Wireless connection in the area with no WEP/WPA security on it. In your case, I would say you can justify the purchase of a DSi since you have no other devices that have functions like the DSi has (besides your PSP, but you said that you dislike the games for that). |

@jon lolz it doesnt have any security thats whats so great about my area!!! 100% connection! using my friends laptop right now, to access the internet XD and jon another thing, the reason why i got so many memory cards of all kind, is that i rip people off cus they have no clue what they sell!!! they sell sd cards and they think the selling spar parts!! XD just so you know, they are about 2gb per and they sold them to me for about 5 bucks. MEGA cheap!!! XD |

even though i have a DS lite, i'm still going for the DSi just because i wanna try it out & see how much i'd use & tinker with it, plus it's like the first time i ever heard of a Game system that actually has a Built-in Camera... even though it's not all that great XD but it's something to have @ least. besides once you have this ur set u don't honestly have to waste money on a camera if u wanted i know i'm definately getting this & enjoying the heck out of it once i get My hands on Pokemon Platinum hell maybe i'll even throw in a couple of Laughs if i have to & throw it in my friends laptop once inawhile since i don't have one XD but whats getting me is... u think their gonna throw in virtual games like the wii onto the DSi ware cause thats what i'm wondering if their doing that. :\ hmm...

@D.O - They are doing exactly that, however the amount of memory you have will probably be determined by the SD card I would assume. @RedFlare- I thought you meant that you had 5 Memory Sticks. |

i had a feeling in my gut they would do that, looks as if Nintendo is actually going hard on the Handheld now that ppl are going to get a big response from the DSi.
