so let me know about how you think about the humored remake of the cowboy bebop... so they say it's: Keanu Reeves as Spike Spiegel Angelina Jolie as Faye Valentine Bruce Willis as Jet Black Dakota Fanning as Ein ...these are good actors...now, i think other actors that would do the movie better deserve to be starred in the said project... well thats me...its my own opinion... For me: James Franco as Spike Christina Ricci as Faye Valentine ....let me know what you think   |

| Umm.. I had thought that the only for sure actor set so far was Keanu Reeves... I think the rest are just speculation/wistful thinking from the fans... i could be wrong though |

I heard about Reeves. But isn't Ein Jet's dog!? Haha, poor Dakota. I think you mean Ed dude =3, plus that girl would be terrible as Ed. Anime > Live action is just a no-no.

Movie will suck, plain and simple. Starring Reeves as Spike is already a horrible sign of things to come. Reeves doesn't do lighthearted and funny like Spike Spiegel. Keanu Reeves just stands around looking cool and giving the same emotionally blank acting through his entire films. Angelina Jolie is just there for sex appeal, nothing else. Chances are she won't even get to do anything major, just attract teenage boys. Bruce Willis, I dunno, maybe. Not a bad choice, although he doesn't seem like a good fit for Jet, he might be serviceable. Dakota Fanning. Hahahahahaha! I'm sorry, I can't say anything about this role with a straight face. You simply cannot capture the oddity that is Ed in live action, and Dakota Fanning is certainly no where near in reach of it. Brings tears of laughter to my eyes just thinking about how Hollywood must have picked her. "Who should we get for Ed?" "How about Dakota?" "Why her?" "Uhh. . . because she's kind sorta the same age and gender as Ein I guess?" "Good enough for me." I truly despise how Hollywood simply picks the biggest named actors out there for whatever crap they have in mind. Too bad the viewing public blindly pays to see whatever movie has a pretty trailer.    |

Ein is the dog. Ed is the one Dakota Fanning going play. and I agree with you both Jonathon and Kirky. I can't say much about Reeves. But I think Bruce Willis might just pull it off. Angelina as Feye. hhhhm... maybe. basing from her performance on the "Wanted" movie. |

Bah, thanks for the correction Bonta. Didn't see what I did there. Wanted was alright, but Jolie's performance wasn't exactly front runner in my mind during the movie. She does have some acting talent, but I just have doubts that she will do anything more in this movie than look good and maybe get one scene where she beats like 20 guys so she can make a stupid quip. Reeves wouldn't be too bad if he just had some kind of emotional range, but he has the same expression on his face in like every single movie he has ever done. He's completely stone-faced and Spike is, well Spike is no where near that. Spike is a laid back kind of guy, who likes to mess around a lot until it comes to the serious stuff. He's like Goku from Dragonball except not as goofy, and just like Goku in Dragonball Evolution, the casting guy behind that has no idea what the character is really like. I simply cannot picture Keanu Reeves as Spike in a traditional sense. The only thing I can see is Reeves with ridiculous bed hair and fighting like he did in the Matrix. |

Cowboy Bebop remaked as a movie..? Awesome then. Fan of it. I guess, those actors were not too bad, 'coze they are simply good. , but I hope they could find a better one.  |

I don't see why alot of people are so worried about Keanu Reeves playing Spike, everyone seems to forget that Keanu can be a decent actor with a wide range of abilities. He can play the cool guy like Neo in the Matrix, he can be goofy like he did in Bill & Ted's Excellent adventure, he can be dramatic like that movie with Charlize Theron...forgot the name...oh wait A walk in the Clouds, and he can be outstanding like he was in Point Break or Speed. So i think he can pull off being Spike if he is faithful to the original character. He's a very capable actor but alot of people tend to forget about that. This may actually turn out pretty well, of course the most important is the script/story of the film. The script can make or break this live-action remake despite having A-list stars. I think Bruce Willis as Jet is an awesome choice if that is true. Bruce Willis in most of his films he is cast as supporting actor tends to steal the show so i think he may do just that here. Besides Bruce Willis usually doesn't make a bad movie....usually. Still the movie isn't gonna be released til 2011 so that is a long way so the cast may change...though i think Keanu is a lock. Why i think this may work is that Sunrise & the creators are keeping a 'close eye' on the project so they will have say in it which is what it should be.  |

Wow I thought this was only a rumor I read about a while back, but doesn't surprise me it's actuality. You're right Jon, I'm despised with Hollywood as well, like wtf!? Seriously, it's giving us anime fans a bad look, as well as anime entirely (not that it isn't already judged horribly upon already). The DBZ movie will already kill our rep, but not this movie, I mean c'mon, I loved Cowboy Bebop. Angelie Jolie as Faye? I honestly can't support this, but there's major sex appeal there (and I like Angelie Jolie, she's hot as hell :O). Why is Hollywood doing this? It's beginning to get annoying, if not already, but it's like some domino affect now. D: Cowboy Bebop already had an actual anime film, and I liked that, but being remade entirely into a movie? No, no, no, no, no! How dare Hollywood. It's one thing getting people to do a war movie, that's something America can do, that's in their reachful element, but re-enacting a Japanese animated cartoon series, no, this will never work. If the Japanese can't fully successfully do this for their live-actions, what makes you think America can even do half of that? The only thing they did successfully, at least for me, was dubbing the series. Other than that, just like, go to sleep...

Im not gonna lie i dont think its that bad but i also agree that holywood needs to quit it with remaking anime...yes its good that they show an interest but its not needed. CB has a movie already and it was badarse.  Part of the new age Gendou RP veterans: Kira, Rukia, KM Revolution, Smoker, Avian, L, and Ryu. |

Keanu Reezes IS THE ONE.. to play Spike. :D I don't think he would be that bad. Oh and I agree. Dakota Fanning does not seem fit for an Ed.  For some reason.. I can't see Angelina pulling off a Feye. Just can't. :c   |

@ Jon-san All i'm saying is that if Keanu is doing the role it is possible it can work. Alot of people think that Keanu is a bad actor cause he doesn't show alot of emotion in his roles. That is far from the truth cause if you see films like Point Break or Bill & Ted he can show different expressions, it depends on the character he's playing or if the script dictates the way characters are. Also we haven't even seen a trailer of photos of the characters in their repective roles...once we actually see the characters for real than we can judge. And other than Keanu all the other actors are just guesses. Films like Dragonball or even the 'planned' Deathnote film we can cry foul cause the actors chosen are just way out there in left field & just picked cause of their popularity. At least i think with Cowboy Bebop they are planning it carefully...or at least that is my assumption from what i've read about it. Sure i'm skeptic with this news about a live-action film but i'm gonna at least give it some interest until something absolutely horrible is shown. Besides since the director & creator of Cowboy Bebop are closely tied with this film they will have a huge say in what is in the film & what is not...they will have final say. I remember fans were all up in arms about a live action Transformers movie but in the end it turned out pretty good, & by the looks of the trailer the 2nd film may exceed expectations. @ DAngel-san Like most live-action versions the approval or thumbs-up by the original creators is needed to make it happen. Like i said the director & creator of the anime series will be involved with the project, also it is unknown if this is following the anime series or even a prequel of sorts or an alternate re-telling of the series. Everything is all speculation so far cause i don't think the script is even done yet. |

@Izumo-san - The live action Transformers was mediocre, Micheal Bay focused on humans and cool looking explosions rather than plot or the Transformers. It was pretty, but it was empty. You're talking about the pre-Matrix era of Keanu Reeves however, not the post-Matrix era. |

The Transformers movie should have more bots less humans. That was the basic premise of the series anyways. But all in all, it was decent. (Here's hoping to more in your face, bot action in part 2) Ok... Finally to the topic... I'm annoyed, tired, and not feeling too good... (Earlier went out to what I thought was a potential work interview, turned out to be a Network...) Now this... I've been against any idea of the American market trying to cash in on Anime and games since they have a very, very bad record making it. What's next? Sailor Moon? Slayers? Card Captor Sakura? Crush Gear? B-daman? Doraimon? Cooking Master Boy? Dragon Ball? Oh wait.... They are already doing that one... That's it... I give up...  Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |

@ Jon-san Yes i'm saying alot about Keanu's pre Matrix era but that still doesn't mean he's a bad actor. Since Matrix Keanu Reeves he has played roles too similar to his Neo character like in Constatine or in Day Earth Stood Still, but he has been in a few films that i thought he was really good in like a Scanner Darkly & to a lesser extent Street Kings (which was an average movie) but Keanu's character was the best from it. I have respect for Keanu as an actor cause he's done some great films...& besides he was smart enough to turn down doing Speed 2. We are judging that this film will be horrible (even with the A-list) actors supposedly involved without actually seeing anything about it. This thinking is probably due to the terrible track record Hollywood has with remaking anime/video game films which is justified. All i'm saying is to at least give it a chance until we see something concrete about it before making quick judgement whether this will be good or not that's all. If they can turn a book into a great movie (ala Harry Potter, Narnia etc) they have the ability to eventually get an anime/video game movie right for once. Maybe Cowboy Bebop will be the first but we'll never know until they try. When they do finish it & it sucks than i take back everything that is said & you guys can say anything you want. However if this movie turns out to be pretty good than....you know :P *Note* Of course regardless if it is good or not a film isn't going to please everyone. |
