Crisis Core: Great if you are a fan of Final Fantasy VII and know all about it. Legend of Heroes IV-A Tear of Vermillion: I enjoyed it as a very basic RPG with nothing fancy, it felt like one of the old school RPG's (well, it's a remake of the original, so I guess you would get that feeling from it. ^^) Only get one though, there are 3 or 4 of these games out and each one is pretty much identical to the others except with different characters, so I recommend only picking up one of them. Star Ocean First Departure/Second Evolution: Good remakes for people who enjoyed the originals or never got a chance to play them when they were out for PS1(Any game remade by Square-Enix that isn't a fourth Final Fantasy I and II remake is a blessing in it's own right) Brave Story: Same as Legend of Heroes. It isn't flashy or anything, but it's a solid RPG that is worth the current $14 pre-owned price tag. Final Fantasy Tactics: I'm not really a tactics RPG fan (although Disgaea 3 seems to be changing that) but it is a great game and well worth it. Disgaea 1 and 2: Good remakes with the additional features and improvements from other Disgaea games that have come out. Jewel Summoner: It feels kind of like Pokemon for an older generation. It's a good game, my only gripe with it is the fact that battles tend to go slowly because of the plodding attacks and animations. |

Crisis Core- no argument here...it's just...EPIC XD Star Ocean remakes - i'm so glad they make remake for these games...i could say they're one of the best that time on PS1. Brave Story New Traveller - feels like old school games...nice feeling to me XD can't think much right now...XD @jon a lil' off topic but have you played Sora no Kiseki trilogy of The Legend of Heroes? |

@Kira- I haven't seen the PSP versions anywhere, but I have played Sora no Kiseki First Chapter on the computer and I must say it is a much better game overall. When I mentioned getting only one of the LOH games I was referring to the remade Gagharv trilogy. A Tear of Vermillion, Song of the Ocean and Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch play, look and feel far too similar and it's really only worth getting one of those. |

Crisis Core FFVII: - Is easily one of the best RPGs on the PSP....one of the few games Squenix has done right. Star Ocean remakes: - I think the 2nd one is better than the first, not cause it is a classic PSone game but it feel much more bigger & better overall. The first one was good cause it was the first time playing it, but i realize it IS the first game of the series so it has it's hiccups here & there. Valkyrie Profile Lenneth: - I absolutely LOVE the series & the first game of the series is just as good when it came out on PSone. The added storyline that continues on in Silmeria is a nice touch as well as the CGI. Still one of the best battle systems ever! Final Fantasy Tactics & Disgaea AoD: - I lump these together cause both are stragedy RPGs but i guess that is where the similarities end. If you like deep engaging storyline & great character development as well as a challenge FF Tactics is for you. If you like quirky, deep gameplay & a good laugh than Disgaea s your choice. Either way both are really good. Yggdra Union: - Much harder than your usual RPG & at times can get frustrating. However the rewards are great enough to try it out. Great characters, good voice acting add to the game...though it is a tad linear. Did i mention it is HARD!!! Ys Ark of Napishtim: - Identical to the PS2 version, so not much to explain about it...if you like the Ys series this is one of the better games. Of course having a hot elf chick doesn't hurt either :D Radiant Mythology TotW: - A decent RPG for those who like more action oriented gameplay. There are some minor things that make this game kind of a chore to play but it for the most part is a good game. Hopefully the 2nd game will improve on the mechanics that hindered the first game. Well that's all i can come up with since these are the ones i actually have & played. |

@ Kira-san Yup there is a Ys game for the PSP. Almost identical to the PS2 version except for a few exclusives (minigames, etc). The big difference is that the PSP version's load times are unbearably long...it feels it takes forever to load. That's probably the biggest problem with the game, if you liked the PS2 version & you don't mind the load times it's a decent game to get. |

@ Kira-san Yup it is indeed in english. It was released about a year ago i think, i may be off but i think it was. Personally for me it is a good game to play at home when you are about to sleep, i did that alot when playing it. Not really a good game to play on the go cause of the load times. You can probably get it pretty cheap nowadays. |

Got myself a copy of Prinny Hero & @#$%!!!! it is damn brutal on your fingers and your temper. This is by far the hardest game i've EVER played!!! You have 1000 lives to finish the game, i ended up with 500 lives left after finishing the game! After you collect some special items you are given infinite lives which is a godsend. If you like platformers this will give you a run for your money, it's difficult but being a Nippon Icchi game it is worth the frustration. Again the dialogue & witty writing that is ever so present in NI games i was laughing more often that ripping my hair out! Which brings me to the Asagai story of the game. After playing this route i think i now have a fave character in the series. She is so damn cute (yet insanely difficult to beat!!!) & the final level with her is both hilarious and sad!...before you see the credits though cause the last scene you see is awesome!!! The cameos that appear in the game are great...from Prinny Laharl (brutally tough), DLC that features Flonne (equally brutal!), Prinny Baal (funny more easier than i thought...just have to remember the pattern he attacks)...still Asagi steals the show!!! |
