I think..the girls.. because anime characters are cute and you know..girls like it (i think) very much specially if the lead anime character is a very cool and handsome guy..  |

girls!! girls are easily addicted to beautiful and handsome guys!! i'm a girl and almost all my girl buddies love anime!! i think i influenced them...a lot...while my guy friends just think about computer games and stuff...although i like computer games too... ^^.
vampires does lust for blood but they also love...

well...that's a tough call...while most girls seems to be the more "fanatic" between genders, hardcore otakus are usually classified as your typical fanboy....i mean girls usually tend to like one series or one character and stick by it...most male anime fans have a broader taste (well some of em' ^^) ranging from mecha to your romance animes... but really who cares, as long as WE all enjoy anime the world will be a better place hahahaha |

I'll break down to this answer: fanatic= one who likes/love something dearly and sometimes ish addicted to it... girls= more fanatic than boys since they do all sorts of things for teh very thing they are a fan of... XP boys= simply says... yeah.. me ish a fan of *place anime title here* cause I like it... XP case closed for this shinigami.. XP

I think they can be fairly even, depending on where you live it can be different. What Keiri said can be true, if examples can help support his theory... You can say girls are a bit more fanatic than boys when it comes to anime with charaters like Loki or Negi. There's also characters such as the ones in Gravitation. Girls are wild for those types of characters, and not necessarily because they're involved in a "yaoi" type anime. But what if you reverse it. Suzumiya Haruhi is a main female character, and one of the most popular ones in anime history! From what I've seen over the net, girls like her, guys love her. Also, how many female otakus have you seen that can rival male otakus (population wise)? I don't see many female otakus often, and even if I did it's nothing compared to male otakus. I'm not saying that female otakus don't exist either, but I surely hear more from male otakus than female ones. o.o` There are various reasons to help answer this question. Don't assume one thing over the other if you only look at it on one side's perspective only.

eto.. i think the girls are ^-^ girls get so easily attracted and addicted to anime ^-^ especialy when there r pretty male and female characters ^-^ and girls buy lotsa anime stuffs always ^-^ they hev more collections than the boys

In Japan,there are more guys than girls among otakus. In Malaysia(my place),there are more girls than guys among otakus. Being a ACG cruiser,it's quite hard for the guys to be a otaku..... |
