An anime based from a H-gam ef-the first tale. Let's not talk about the first episode since it's not out yet, but we can enjoy the prologue from now The song is Yukyuu no Tsubasa (or Eternal Feather) but i'm not sure which version though @Izumo, i got the tracks in my PC^^. I could upload some of them in imeem and put it up here if you'd like |

Sure Kay-san...feel free to add what you want...this is your thread....i'll add some pics from the game once i get my internet back up at home. The version of Yukyuu no Tsubasa is Kenmon's version....he/she is the sound guy for most minori games. I don't know the exact name for it yet...cdjapan has the songs ready for preorder but there is no name for it yet...it may not even be the intro. I do know that the end song is done by the voice actress for Miyako....looks like there is also multiple end songs just like School Days. I'll compare it to the game when the series starts for real in i think September....i'll watch my spoilers. Just be ready for an emotional roller coaster.....trust me it is sometimes gutwrenching....still it would be nice to play the 2nd game when it DOES come out. I don't want to know the end....  |

I saw a few promo pictures of this a while back, but just now I finally know the title of those pics and where they came from. I've never seen a "tales of" anime or played any of the games before (again, I'm so lame...). The artwork of this anime (or from that video) looked fantastic! The dialog and script work seemed pretty nice as well (I love that kind of stuff). The song used, was that the one Izumo was madly in love with? (as I've sen his replies in other threads) Talking about stuff where Izumo and Kay posts first, makes me a "n00b" at times. T-T` But, afterwards I learn new stuff. New great stuff. Arigatou~ [in~directly, that is]. XD Sheesh, another September title I have to look out for. Also, Izumo, give me a heads up when Clannad launches. I'd hate to miss it. ^_~` Oh, one last note. I guess I need to watch all the other anime and play the games to know any of this "ef - tales of memories" anime title, right?

@DA, Most of the time, I don't play the games. The reason why I sometimes know about a certain game or anime is due to, well, instinct XD(maybe), I might have read about it somewhere and then forgot all about it or for some reason, that particular series seemed so familiar and stuff(I get this feeling of de ja vu when i hear some titles. Kanon was one example). Truth be told, I'm no more a n00b than you are^^. I think you're mistaking ef with namco's 'Tales of' series cause they're completely different. ef's first game is ef-the first tale. I've seen the game's intro, and was quite mesmerized by it and hoped for an anime version to come out. Looks like my prayers were answered. |

lol, the cooler n00bz. XD Anyways, I can still, like, go right in and watch it (when it comes out)? I'm already dLing Higurashi no Naku Koro ni before I start dLing Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai (hope I got the names right; remembering them by heart now XD). Would I need to dL another series before watching this one, or is it a brand new anime type thing, and I can just, hop right in the seat?

Yea, from what I heard(read actually) it has an interesting storyline, . I don't remember which blog I read it from(it's been a few months and google doesn't show me the site anymore). ef-the first tale is parted to prologue, Chapter 1 “Miyamura Miyako†and Chapter 2 “Shindou Kei". And from what I remembered the blogger said 'Mikage & Co. managed to tell stories about first love in this installment of the ef project without turning it into yet another cliche ridden Highschool visual novel'...or somewhere along that lines |

Is it released already? I read somewhere above there's two (like game 2). Maybe if I can get the game, I'll play it to understand stuff before getting into the anime. I usually play the game of whatever anime, after seeing the anime. ^.^;

i know the first one (ef-the first tale) is already out. as for part 2(ef-the latter tale) i'm not sure. It is said that it'll be released somewhere this year but i don't know the exact date |

The first game was released on Dec.22 2006. Checking the 'Minori' homepage the next game is scheduled for a 2007 release. I won't be suprised if it is on the same date...or one close to it. Most visual novels are released on a Friday. When the first game was released it was the highest selling game for that month & 4th highest for the year according to Getchu.com (behind DC 2, Really? Really!, & Scarlett). Fans loved the interactions & the story of the game...not your typical high-school premise that's for sure. To answer DAngel-sans question...yes the story is indeed very good....so is the game. Great visuals...well very nicely drawn...great music by Tenmon...likable characters drawn by Ms.Naru Nanao. The intro of the game is appealing cause it is directed by Mr.Makoto Shinkai-san.....he has directed quite a few of the intros for Minori. Alot of his animated directions are top class....like his works on 'ByÅsoku Go SenchimÄ“toru' & 'Voices of a Distant Star'. I don't think he's involved with the anime series though. I was mistaken the series officially starts in October.....not the before mentioned September. The CLANNAD movie is out in September 15th....while the TV series is also in October....more precise the 5th. |

Maybe I should've used my summer to find out more about visual novels and whatnot, like what Izumo highly knows about now ya friggin' genius (in this category). XD Although, I might have a hard time finding the games and whatnot. Why's the movie released before the anime series? I only saw this happen once before, maybe twice, not sure... It was used for the anime Utena: Revolutionary Girl, then I saw the series. Or... it could've just been my cable company, so I'unno (the movie looked better than the series).

*Out of topic side Note* Well DAngel-san the movie is kinda a compressed version of the whole story of CLANNAD. To be more clear it mainly focuses on the relationships & scenario for Nagisa & Tomoya. The other characters i would think have minor roles in the movie. It's the equivalent to KANON '02 compared to KANON '06....just like '02 dealt mainly with Ayu.....the movie is all Nagisa. The TV series will likely be for everyone since of the length of the series (in episodes) & diving more into the stories of all the other characters ala KANON '06. Either way i'm looking forward to the series. Next to 'ef' this is one i've been anticipating for like forever! I'm not really a genius on the subject of 'visual novels'...i do my homework & i've played so many over the years. If the game is really good...like a good book or movie you'll remember it for a long time. Sometimes i do have to go back to the game to check up on my accuracy....i can & will occasionally get things wrong. |

Same thing, I'm checking up on the subgroups right now before I get dressed for school. Sheesh, I was so amazed by the simple trailer video I saw before here. Can't even imagine how I would react once I see episode one! *tries episode one with "Nuke"*

Watching the first episode at the time of post. The opening sequence is quite nostalgic... edit: Finished it, liked it, and waiting for the next one^^. I really like the way it was portrayed... |

^o^ I watched ep. 1 yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Me and Hikari have been waiting for this show. XD I really like the animation and how they do a lot of different artsy things. Like that one part with the cat whiskers. @_@ A lot of characters though so I'll have to try to keep 'em straight. |

Heh....just like i remember it from the game. Which reminds me i should upload pics that are similar in the anime. Anyways...the intro song has yet to be played. The one in episode 1 was just sort of an instrumental intro. I'm eager to hear "Euphoric Field"....so far there are 3 end themes sung by the seiyuu's. If you guys are interested i can upload the pics of the characters just like i did for CLANNAD. Just a thought...only if you really want it. Anyways just like CLANNAD i have HIGH hopes for this. Why do they have to have 5 series based on visual novels airing at the same time....*sigh* Don't they know that i'm very busy at work to sit down and calmly watch them....& that's not including Shana 2 & Negima! Live action.....@_@ *EDIT* Here is a small sample from the game....recognize the scenes.    |
