OK well here's the deal... I DON'T like Legend of Zelda. Really it is sooooo stupid. This a forum where you can complain/hate/slam/make fun of Legend Of Zelda Here are my reasons to hate it!!! 1. It is soooo cliche!!! 2.The graphics are always really bad 3.Zelda has gotten captured so many time!!! 4.It took a long time for Zelda and Link to get married. 5.Weaponry is soo... plain 6.The mythical creatures seems like they were taken from the Spyro Series Worst Game n the series... Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past *Even the title is stupid... come on, Link to the past !!!) Zelda is such a Damsel in Distress. Once again the plot is always sooo cliche !!! That's great that you hate the series, congratulations on not being a conformist. But... 1) What's your point? If you havent noticed, a lot of games are "cliche". Example: any and all WW2 shooters. Any and all futuristic shooters. If you look at almost any game, the end result is to 'save the world'. The whole point of playing a game is for the story and gameplay in the middle of the game. 2) I'm sure you are looking at the N64 graphics compared to an xbox, PS2, whatever. The fact is, way back when the N64 and PS1 were next gen, the graphics looked amazing. Sure, now they look like crap, but thats because we are used to newer graphics. And do NOT tell me Wind Waker graphics sucked. Yes, they were not what we are used to, but if you actually play the game for more than 5 minutes you will see that it adds a lot to the gameplay experience, rather than detracting from it. 3) So what? 4) What the heck are you talking about? Link and Zelda never got married. 5) Plain weaponry? I'm sure the Biggoron sword, Giant mask, Hover boots, Gale boomerang, Bombchus, Ball and chain, etc etc. (the list goes on) would have to disagree with you. 6) I'm pretty sure mythical creatures were taken from myths. (BTW, how exactly do you 'hat' something? Do you give it much-needed head wear? o.O) Have you even played LttP? And when I say 'played' I mean for more than 10 minutes, maybe even long enough to get halfway done with the game And I have a feeling your plan will backfire, I'm pretty sure most people actually like this series...  |

Your entitled to your own opinions, but let me explan some obvious things. Which came out first? LoZ or Spyro? Spyro was first released in 1998 and Ocarina of Time a few months after. Of course LoZ has had more games before Spyro, so I don't see how it could've copied from Spyro at all. The storyline is not cliche. There are not just one Link and one Zelda. There are decendants of each other throughout the games. They never did marry anyways. If one generation Link and Zelda did marry, of course the rest generatios can't marry. Lots of other girls have been damsel and distress like Princess Peach and Daisy and hundreds of female video game characters and I don't hear any ranting on them. What's wrong with Link to the Past? It was one of the best games for SNES at its time and had great graphics and everything. |

I would have to agree with Link and Young Kai. There's a lot more other games (even newer ones) that could not compare to the gameplay of Legend of Zelda. It won't be popular with high ratings if it sucks like what you say. :) Even if you play Ocarina of Time again, its still awesome. :D Peace. ^^ (By the way, there's nothing wrong with hating it. We all have our own tastes. ^^)    |

Wait, is this a joke thread? "The mythical creatures seems like they were taken from the Spyro Series" umm... correct me if i'm wrong but Zelda started in the 8-bit era and Spyro started in the 32-bit era. Anyway, I happen to really like the series. Zelda games generally have good puzzles and action, in my opinion, and they are usually pretty big and have alot to do. And I really like the graphics and music in most of them, it makes the series really atmospheric in my opinion. |

Not everybody is a fan of Zelda....so what is new....you either love it or you don't. but to be so harsh about a series that is so rich in history & one of the most influential game series ever is simply unfair. First of all Zelda is considered one of the first great adventure games...there was so much to do & enemies to beat using not only strength but also your head. Case in point...feeding bombs to Dodongo. You work so hard to beat Ganon & when the credits end you are given a 2nd mission....WHAT!!! The story of Zelda is yes sure a princess in distress...but not for every game. The N64 versions dealt with other issues that is beyond rescuing her. These N64 games were revolutionary for they were the first 3D Zelda games....it opened the door for greater things to come. The possibilities for future Zelda games were endless. The music....the OP theme to Zelda is probably one of the most recognizable the,es in gaming history. Hum a few chords of that song & everyone knows what it is. A Link to the Past is my fave game in the series....so i don't really agree with your views of it. Like Link-san said....did you actually play through the entire game. The ability to go from one world to another using the ocarina was a cool way to travel. The story was absolutely memorable....all the boss battles were intense & satisfying . Even if you say that this generation games are better than Zelda....Zelda was & is still a classic in many eyes. Some of the newer games sure have better visuals but that isn't everything for a game. If the substance is not there what point is a flashy eye-candy game....Zelda has substance....it has feeling....it has heart (literally...life bar ^__^)....& most important it has staying power. The Zelda series will continue to garner fans for its many attributes.....so a few haters of the game are insignificant to the MILLIONS around the world who treasure & love this series!!!!!  |

This is a pretty *add needed word here*... The Legend of Zelda series is part of Nintendo's hall of famers... They have been making history together with the other Mario games. The elf with a green hat is very popular. I say that it is one of the greatest games ever made... It's probably the reason why I bought the GC, to be able to play the other Legend of Zelda series other than the N64 and GB/GBA ones. It's difficulty ranges within each games... and some levels are really hard to get through and some are really recycled(sorry)... but did that stop all us Zelda fans from playing? NO! It makes me feel great that for once again, I have beaten all of Link's enemies and accomplished what he have to do. Graphics are bad? I am sure that during those times when the old Zelda games are released, those graphics are at it's best... And hey, have you seen the LoZ: The Four Swords? the graphics are better... erk... now I'm just gonna stop. Last thing: "No offense but you dun like Legend of Zelda?! dun continue to play it... or rather dun play any LoZ games... You think you'll be a lost?" Now... I'm really have to stop... XP

Hey guys, don't be so harsh. We all have different tastes. One likes it, one dislikes it... I myself haven't played LoZ yet. Only some minutes on the good old Gameboy. But these don't count. ^^ Please respect each others opinions! The last sentence from Kuronin wasn't necessary. Please don't assasinate me! >.<   |

Ah... I don't like GTA (any of them), I don't like Power Rangers (any of those as well), I don't like Power Puff Girls (heck, I don't even know if it's "Powerpuff" or "Power Puff"), I don't like plenty of things, along with plenty of other people. But you don't see plenty "This game/band/anime/movie is stupid" because it almost always starts up, well, what we just about have going here: A flame war, w00t! I respect Koneko-chan for saying she doesn't like a popular game series, simply because that takes a lot of guts; however, I don't respect any sort of flaming threads. We all have our own opinion, and I kinda like Koneko-chan's. (Seems like a lot of people call Zelda an overrated game [Even a gaming magazine I read, lol... said something like "If you made up a game about a guy in tights who used his special powers to play the flute while you were in high school, all you would've gotten is a swirly." Rather true, IMO.]), and while I do agree with some of the points Koneko-chan made, I still like the game simply because they can be fun >:D Thank you all for the rants, but to avoid more flaming, I'll lock this thread now ^_~  |
