I would like to know what make you happy. Specifically, what is you definition of happiness and how you achieve your state of happiness. Here is my opinion. It is not happiness that we are after. It is the persue of happiness that bring us happiness. That's why I am willing to try new things/activities. However, sometimes I feel like a mouse in a maze always looking for the next best thing. Also, making other happy eventually bring us happiness. By this I don't mean being a people pleaser. I mean helping people so that their lives improve for the better. What do you all think? |

...Good points :D What makes me happy is... Being able to make others happy, certainly. Aye, granted, there are other things... Coming in at an extremely close second would be messaging with Angelyuki, and once I'd be with her, that'd be so far beyond one it'd be in the negative exponents. However... Going with what I have now... Simply helping others, talking with my little hunny bunny, and making people happy are all my tops :D Aye, and Warcraft is fun, so it brings me brief happiness... Add in my guild sending me cloth so I can tailor bags for them (yay for mageweave~), and it gets better... And then add in the funness of big games, and it's aaalll good :D And a quick little note... Making other people's days a little brighter is actually pretty easy... All it takes is a wikipedia link for an answer to their question, and voila~ brightness achieved, lightly :D *no pun intended* |

My key to happiness is my art. Whenever I'm drawing a new pic, I feel all fluttered inside. It's like the feeling you get when it's the last day of school or the start of some holiday. I don't know, it just makes me happy. ^__^ |

@Kyari: I know what you mean. Drawing allows to physically touch the beauty in your heart. You briefly step away from this real world into a world of peace and happiness by simply pick a pencil/pen and draw something you love. @Sach: I think being care free is a key ingredient to happiness and I think you have that deep inside you. :) |

Knowing that my life's work meant something to at least one life. Nothing more could make me happier. |

What is happiness to me? I would say happiness is the fulfillment of my being. By pushing my limits beyond what they are currently I discover more and more about myself. This self-discovery allows more harmony between my thoughts and actions. Once feeling comfortable in my own skin I can open myself up to others and they can share in what I have gained. In loving others as myself, I find harmony in all of life and walk to the end of my days infinitely content with all I have accomplished on this Earth. Nothing would make me more happy than that. |

@Wolf: I think you pretty much hit the nail right on the head. Let's see: Acheivement of goals Self-discovery Harmony between body and mind (and maybe soul) sharing with others loving other like yourself contentment If only there are more people like you, the world would be a better place. |

Thanks for the compliment but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I am still human after all. My philosophy looks pretty easy when I simplify it like I did but, like most things worthwhile, it is difficult to achieve. I do not believe my aspirations work for everybody and we should endeavor to find ourselves and our own way to walk through life. It was through many blows to the head I realized that pleasing everyone is impossible and it leaves you feeling empty in the long run. To stand by what and who you believe in is worth more than the effort to do so. As most runners realize as they develop their passion for the sport, it is not how many miles you run to achieve your goals but how well you ran the ones to get to this point. The intensity of the fire within determines the extent to which you are willing to uphold your aspirations, your philosophies, and all you hold dear. It is with that idea of spirituality/soul that I coined the phrase, "Initiate, Dedicate, Annihilate." It is the only way I can feel wholly myself and truly happy. |

@The list of qualities I made was a pretty general list that I think most people would consider a source of happiness. Most people are either doing the things on the list to acheive happiness or wanting to do those things. And I agree with you that each of us need to find our own path to happiness. There is not one set way to get there. My turning point in life happened at the age of 18 when one day, I just realize what would make me happy. That was simplicity. To me that one word summed it all up. Later in life, love and appreciation adds to my source of happiness. These realizations and aspirations is worth more than gold to me. Now I would like to ask you what you mean by "annihilate". I am not clear how it fits in to your belief. |

i may not explain this very well..but just to keep it short, for me personally...happiness is freedom...achievement...& the feeling of satisfaction + content in u ^^..and friendship |
Re: What is your key to happiness?

Annihilate is intentionally vague because everyone faces different adversities in life. The draw back to using such a strong term like annihilate is that it can be misused by anyone who does not fully understand themselves. Maybe about a year or so ago it was meant in the physical sense. I was to take the first step down my path(initiate), hone my sight upon the goal and commit completely(dedicate), and overcome any obstacle in my way(annihilate). However a few broken bones, broken egos, and broken minds later I look at it more internally. It is the overcoming of the obstacles within yourself. Breaking the chains that hold you back from taking the true step. Removing the fallacies built up to please others, the masks, the blinders, the decimation of everything and anything so that you can walk your path with complete clarity and awareness. Like I said it was a strong term and please do not misunderstand, action of this magnitude without a sure grasp is reckless and self-damaging. However it is my way. |

That's a very meaningful definition and use of the word "annihilate". I would interprete what you said as overcoming or conquering obstacles. I sense incredible drive from your words and it seems to me you are a very focused person and yet you have an elegant balance between the world and your inner-self. I am glad to converse with you. If I were to coin a phrase that would sum up my outlook on life, it would be "Simplicity, Humor, kindness". These three things have always been and will always be bringing happiness, joy, and laughter. I love the saying: "He who laughs as himself never seize to be amused." For me, bringing people laughter through simple humors as an act of kindness is what I live for and live by everyday. |

I finally found the key to my happiness and it is someone most special to me, though we are like worlds apart. Being with that person, and making everyone around me happy are the key to my happiness. I think contentment in everything you do is happiness for me. |

@Mizuki: I am glad someone you love brings you happiness. I like what you say about making people around you happy. Life is really about give and take. That's why I like to tell jokes (mostly about myself) to make people laugh. @cory: It's good to know you have such a positive outlook on life. It is nice to know someone on this planet who loves life and everything that is in it. |
Re: What is your key to happiness?

When it's to the point, my key is simply the way I live life. I laugh, I cry, I smile, and I frown. Caring not about myself, but about others makes me happy. I have no desire, really, for anything in my life, and that's really true happiness, to me. Oh, if we're coining three-word phrases, I'll join in. ^^ "Swiftness, spontaneity, care," simply because.. Life goes fast, so one must go faster. Life isn't life without its quirks. and everyone has a care in life. |

@Shorasli: Well said. I agree with everything you say. Let me list the three-word phrases we have so far, in order of appearance: Wolf: "Initiate, Dedicate, Annihilate." Without You: "Simplicity, Humor, Kindness" Shorasli: "Swiftness, Spontaneity, Care" Anybody is welcome to contribute to the list. As you may know by know, I like to simplify things. XD |
