I've been at Gendou for a couple of months, and the RPGs look fun, but most of the time I have no idea what's going on, how to post RPG-style, how to jump in...it might sound ameuter, but does anyone have any tips for me? wah! Thanks!  |

I've got a few. 1. Read rules and story obviously. 2. If your not sure about something then just PM or ask the creator. 3. Normal RP format is Characters Name: Speech/Dialogue 4. * * <--These are normally used to state actions or other things that are not speech. Ex. *drew his sword and ran towards his opponent* Got to go for now. I do have more tips though, just not enough time to post them.    |

@Dragonfly- Depends on who made it. I never have cast limits on my RP's but other people do. Mostly it's the RP's with a serious commitment to a story that will put a deadline for new members. Other random ones don't usually have them, and it depends on a person. I'll give my other tips later now that I've got the energy again. |

also, you would probably want to set a way to distinguish from the dialogue from the action. Like an example "Blah blah blah" said Blah *Blah casts Blahra!* That would how most would work to my thinking. XD  |

Good thread, and for Dragonfly, if you are interested, you can still enter in my RP, just be sure to read the story. Prologue, Chap 1, Sumary and Chap 2... even if I have a RP, I'm not really good at it :P   |

I'm a noob too. You can use a storytelling form. Like in books. I use a mix of the Dialogues and storytelling.^^   |

@Dark- I already said that. Number 4 on my list.^^; Alright, to continue. 5. Avoid automatically moving your character(s) to a place where there's a fight or something going on for no reason. If you do then have some reason for doing it such as you hear or see an explosion. 6. Avoid 'teleporting'. By this I mean if your somewhere else and your character is mentioned or something that interests you is going on, don't just pop there in a single post just to offer up your thoughts or get involved. This also goes for moving long distances in seconds. |
