I'd recommend Onegai Teacher it's a very emotional and deep Anime and the characters relationships do progress throughout the series not like some romantic animes where you have to wait till the end for something to happen. Did I mention there were some kissing scenes inbetween the anime as well :D Or Ai Yori Aoshi if you're leaning to anime's like To Heart (i.e. Harem types). Fruits Basket and DN Angel (it made me cry somehow...) i heard naruto also has some kinda sad parts but i haven't watched it yet  |

Personal faves...i love this kind of anime as well :) First of all...the ULTIMATE LOVE ANIME....IT's Heavenly!!! Ah! My Goddess Notable mentions Sailormoon Onegai series: Teacher & Twins ( i agree with Funsch ) Ai yori Aoshi Kannazuki no Miko....ummm if your into Yuri love :) Chobits Futakoi & Futakoi Alternative Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu Tsyukuyomi~ Moon Phase ~ If i see you in My dreams...very obscure but quite enjoyable Many others...too many to mention...Fuji's list is a good start. Great series based on my fave genre...anime from hentai games :) AIR KANON Kimi ga Nozomu Eien Final Aproach Shuffle!
