underappreciated anime

Can you think of any? I can name one right on the spot:
Ganbare Goemon! Have you seen the tv.com score for this series? 5.4/10! This series is so funny and cool and the members hate it so much, they can't even give it a summary. (Chances are my summary didn't go through) Can you name any others?

Definately. The original Bubblegum Crisis in my mind was the first and the best anime I have ever seen, It is way ahead of its more recent ADV release; Bubblegum Crisis 2040. The artwork wasnt the best of its class but the storylines and Character details where outstanding, and i hasten to add the most evil bad guy ever, Largo. I am proud to own the dvds, music dvd and all the released music to it.
People all seem to rate 2040 as being better due to the ADV design team. but Youmex and Genom records being smaller put more into it.

PRINCESS TUTU.

Yes, I know, you think "Princess Tutu? LAME."

But, when you actually watch it, it has darker themes, is not just some cheesey shoujo story, and has wonderfully developed characters.

T_T Princess Tutu needs more love.

And so does Arc the Lad. I know it is an anime based on a video game, but it is still awesome, and I love it.

I have the complete dvd collection of Ganbare Goemon.

It liked it, but no doubt is was terribly repetitive.

Seppukumaru is awesome. Mr. Protein O_O'

It would of been better if it had the same setting as the games and the the typical giant robot every episode.

Princess Tutu, of course that one deserves recongnition. It has a damn good plot and story. Not to mention music.

Bottle Fairy is definatly short and sweet. Also educational.

Not seen Bubblegum.

Now for mine. Haibane Renmei. This true art here, an anime for the person who seeks originality. This isn't blantant fanservice crap or flashy ninjutsus. This is the real deal when anime can be considered an artform. Real drama and character development. Not your stereotypical angel anime. It actually requires thinking and speculation.

Hey, at least the Impact fights don't always turn out the same like in a lot of anime. That's what I like about this show. It introduces at least one new attack in every episode. Although Goemon and his friends being useless with AND without Impact is kind of depressing.

~Ghost Stories in School~ I love that anime, I wonder why no one cares about this. I forgot the japanese term.

~Otogi Zoshi: The Legend of Magatama~ Creators of Ghost in the shell, but I like this anime better.

~Angel Links~ somehow related to Outlaw Star. One of my faves.

I can give you one VERYVERY UNDERAPPRECIATED anime now,NARUTO!

I can assure you,if you go into at least 10 forums, and look around,ALMOST EVERYWHERE and EVERYBODY are talking about how Naruto is so crappy with all those fillers!!!

Even Gendou has a topic called "Do You Think Naruto Too long",*BIG SIGH*,even though the rating for Naruto is still rather high,i think it's around 7-8/10...but sooner or later,it's going to go down because of people judging it from it's fillers..

Thus,i think it's WAY too UNDERAPPRECIATED....*screams*

Kimagure Orange Road. Barely anyone ever remembers that anime anymore, but it is one of the most awesome series EVAR IMHO. It had everything - comedy, drama, adventure, romance, mystery, psychic powers, popular music (all the songs were hits before they are put in the show as none of the music in the show are made just for the series), delinquent high school girls, a questioning of social issues (at the time), and of course...the hottest anime babe to ever grace an anime...Ayukawa Madoka!

I think Someday's Dreamers is underappreciated. Not many people have heard about it and I even found it in a Big Lots store (which is a discount store for anyone who doesn't know). My friend showed it at our anime club and no one even paid attention!

Hmmm, a couple:

Saint Tail is often ignored, even in forums/stories/etc that focus on magical girl anime. It's a shame, because Saint Tail > Kaito Jeanne.

Brain Powered. I don't believe I've actually met anyone who's heard of the anime.

But one of the very most underappreciated anime out there right now is Sailor Moon. There have been quite a few magical girl anime - Mermaid Melody and Tokyo Mew Mew being two that spring to mind as being very similar-ish - and Sailor Moon doesn't seem to compare anymore. The animation isn't as good compared to MMPPP and TMM, and everyone complains about the large Monster of the Day episodes. Sailormoon is very underappreciated now, yes.

@kay-chan.
you do now...i love brain powered in super robot wars alpha 2 and super robot wars j though and the music.

Never really liked Brain Powered. But that's probably because I watched the horrendous English dubbed version when it first came out. Rented the first tape and couldn't stand to continue it.

There is also Voltes V. The anime that only Filipinos seem to remember and appreciate. When you ask about classic giant robots, people say Gaiking, Mazinger Z, Voltron, but they almost never heard of Voltes V.

Princess Tutu is a really good anime. It's really MUCH less childeish than the name implies. I thought it was until my friend forced me to watch it.
And Naruto has been forever RUINED by the horrible fillers! GET ON WITH THE MAIN PLOT ALREADY!!!! MAKE THEM GROW UP!!!!! (but that is a bit off topic) oh well

[WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

1. Now and then, here and there
i Might've gotten the name wrong but i really enjoyed the anime

2. Full Metal Alchemist
Ah this anime, well the main reason i choose this one is although
people think it's good it doesn't get enough recognition for a few
qualities it has that most animes flop on. First off is keeping
the characters in the plot and not having any random filler characters,
For example rose who shows up later as a key character or even the two false
elric brothers, generally characters as insignificant as they are serve a purpose
in Plot developement. Also a balance between jokes and heavy plot, they know when to
have armstrong being armstrong and when to have him acting like a soldier.
Action is good they effectively managed to keep battles interesting for me instead
of boring me with repetitive techniques used over and over. Also everyone was useful
to an extent in battles, Instead of the main character having to be the one who runs in
and does everything.... i won't mention any animes even though i think alot of people
are getting the same idea...

3. Rahxephon
Loved the idea for robots in this, even though it was similar to evangelion honestly
thats hard not to do, they're giant robots and theres nothing wrong with getting inspirtation
from such a well done anime!.

4. Wolf's Rain
Okay, Black leather + lean muscles = hawt, yes i am a guy and i'm not homosexual but
lets be honest, who can pull off the black leather like Tsume can huh?.... lol okay now to be serious.. Well i liked the art style, the world was made dark all the time even when the sun was up
the placed look really dreary which gave it this sort of dead mood (For those of you who watched schindlers list you'll know what i mean) however there is a scene where Kiba finds a so called paradise and there seems to be alot more glow to the place this effective usage of color to denote an emotional attachment to the scene was spectacular.

For me Weiss Kruez is one of the most underappreciated animes. I don't see the eason why people complain about the animation, you don't watch an anime because the animation is good, you watch it because the story seems interesting.
