Hi everyone, if you ever want to play flv, rm, mov, avi, wmv, or other video formats, let me suggest Videolan Client: _http://www.videolan.org/ It does support a lot of this video formats without having to download other codecs, even those 3GP from the Cellphone. And as far as I know it is compatible with Win98 thru WinXP, Linux (many flavors, Fedora is the one I use btw), BeOS, OSX, and many others. Hope I have been useful... Best regards to everyone. P.S. The program is Free of course... |

hmmm... i am able to save youtube videos by doing this... well this works for windows XP... and use internet explorer (IE) first... go to youtube, then play the movie you want to save... (click pause if you don't want to watch it... wait till the progress bar is maxed out) then after playing it go to your documents and settings folder (c:\documents and settings\). if you have a user account, go to that user account. make sure you don't have restriction or you have admin rights to the pc... after that, click tools on your windows explorer, then click folder options... click view, select "show hidden files and folders", uncheck "hide protected operating system files" by now you should see a transparent folder named local settings... (your path should be now C:\Documents and Settings\USER(this is the user name)\Local Settings...) then goto temporary internet files folder... you'll see lotsa files... garbage if you ask me... sort them according to date... find the file with the latest date accessed... with a file size of 10 MB+... then play on an flv player.. (i use a program called media player classic... download it with the codecs... hehe) well i hope this helps.. i mean if you still haven't resolved this problem and i am not that late... ciao |

Re: How can I save a Flash from Youtube?

| I use the IE and Temporary internet Files method, since I can't install the Firefox plugins on the campus computers ( although they have firefox). The only thing I realised is that sometimes the .flv file is bigger than the same .rm file that I can download of web-hosting servers, and the .rm file is way better in terms of quality. |

@palladium- I don't use Opera, but if you want to do that you'll have to check and see if Opera allows extensions like Firefox does. If so then there might be a video downloader for it. |

To download go to www.keepvid.com (remember to save the file name and put .flv at the end or else it'll be an unknown extension) Theres a link there to get a flv player (the free one is at the very bottem) But i rather u get a VLC player. (go yahoo.com and type VLC player) it can play alot of extensions ^^ ![]() A friend of today is an enemy of tomorrow. I am an empty shell. I don't feel loved at all ![]() |
