@ Terror: Well, i'm wondering if the code additions may be able to be done by proofreading as part of post processing. My worry is for the writers, who may have difficulty in their writing while trying to add in code / possible errors in large amounts of turned in text.

However, that can be solved if we can set a sort of sequence for handling of text for the project. I'll make sure to have that discussed next meeting.

Ah sou, has coding department made any interesting breakthroughs or such?

------

Huh, it's always silent here for me, my speakers broke ages ago :3

@ Atsuki: Thank you for the detailed interview. You're samples show you have quite some knowledge with music. I certainly know the music department will benefit from your volunteering. Thank you!

Right! Well, I would be the spamming supervisor person, here to point you in the right direction, so that your enthusiasm and will to help wont go unheard of.

Anyways, music is headed by Lockey. (so don't forget to send a Hel-ooo Personal Message) My orders for them at the moment are to simply come up with ideas and work with one another.

Voice acting is a ways off, but it looks like there is a strong will to push for it. So, once the introduction arc his the proofreading stage, I'm hoping we can start up that department.

Ah- Well, I dont mean to sound like I'm am being a forcible recruiter (but sadly I am) If the previous project you spoke of is really on the verge of crashing, then if there is any still willing and able staff who wants to help out with one that's just starting off, then by all means invite! Art department could really use members as we only have one artist. ^^'

Oh, and on final note, there are the Instant Messanger Meetings on Windows Live. They're for discussing things that would otherwise take a weeks worth of posting to get finished. Though I dont have any meetings scheduled or requested specifically for music yet, everyone's free to join whichever one if they are online at the time. So, if you wish to, please PM me your IM details for Windows LIVE. (which means I also promptly PM you the master list of members who have also given their IM details for meetings)

Anyways, that's it. Nice to meet ya, and thanks for investing your time to help!

@ Jonathan: Shuyin-san hasn't opened any of my messages, so it would be safe to assume he's busy, or having massive internet problems, or off on some epic journey of sorts. It would looks like it is only you and Sayu-san available.

As for Sayu, she is still online. Since you two are the only ones available, it shouldn't hurt to do discuss on the website with her via PM. Though, you can strike the meeting here on the thread as well.

@ Darky: Yep, I've been at my busy state too. Haven't drawn anything since my summer school ended. Gah... I'll find that darn cheapo scanner eventually.

@Ugo: I wasn't gonna ask for too much than I asked for previously, but I figured I'd make a more formal explanation and add one or two other (easy) things. >_> Tell ya what, I'll type it up and post it somewhere. If you think it's a little overbearing for the writers, I'll edit it. <_<

@UGO: thanks for the additional information, wow that was hella long. anyway, sadly, I dont have a windows live messenger account, but I know that I should be able to contact Windows Live messenger users through yahoo messenger, I'll pm you my IM address for Yahoo Messenger, I'll be installing windows live sooner or later.

About the recruitment, I do know someone, his a lineartist but I dont know if he can volunteer because his truly busy with studies (and thats another reason why our project is onhold).

well, I wish that the voice actor department will be active soon, oh yeah, is the Voice Acting in this project in Japanese?

In the music department, I wouldn't have any problems on my contribution here, ^_^

This is for now, ^_^

The story takes place in the US, so I think we're gonna stick to English. <_< I assume that's probably a issue in your case? >_<

Uhmm, Not really, but I may have problems if it's english, I'll practice different accents for a while, I'll be done after 2 or 3 days. so i could be apart on the voice acting department asap, ^_^

Yes, good enthusiasm. xD

That reminds me, did Ugo ever get around to figuring out the whole head of VA issue? >_> I think she* was so caught up in the fact I was at AX she* missed the whole thing. xD

@ Terror: Alright

Uh.... who do you exactly mean by she*? (Pame?)

Alsoi, I've gotten word from Basil that he's getting quite busy lately. Since he declared you as secondary for coding. As of now, you are head of the coding department

@ Ishi: Yeap. Since it is intended to be in English, it may be a good idea to practice English pronunciation.

I also got your message, I'll Pm you back ASAP.

Re: Gendou - Visual Novel Project

@ Terror: Unfortunately, I dont have the proper voice editing equipment or knowledge to be able to do that. Even if it where so, I'll be at wits end if I start taking up more of a workload.

Pame-chan is an option, but I'll have to ask her first. Or maybe even other people who come forward. Though, I remember Jonathan might have had some interest there.

@ Jon: Right. At the least, for now think of the site layout, and placement of links, etc. Though of course deciding where to host also comes as important.

@ Mokona: Wah, it looks like you're busy too.

Well, if you really cant make a meeting that might be scheduled in the future, I might just end up requesting the proposals VIA PM. We really need to get moving on that. So yup, if you can get it to me now, then by all means do so.

Plus, by the way it looks it seems like there;ll be 3 Arcs (Mine, KM, and Mokona-chan). Should we have the arc writer positions open again?

@ Jejechi: Wagh! There's just been a small push in volunteers lately. Well, nonetheless, since art is really in need of help, welcome!

Though most of the time you'll be in contact with the head of art (Darky) I'm head supervisor person! If you want to arrange meetings, need some general questions answered, file complaints, etc. feel free to contact me!

Darky's already touched on it, we have Instant Message Meetings to discuss things that would be impossible to get done as fast through posting. As such, when you can please send me your MSN Live contact info too. I'll make sure to send you back contact info for the rest of the members.

I'm sure you and Darky will be able to learn some things from one another!

@ Ishi: I love your enthusiasm! So yup! We cant be picky with people who volunteer.

@ All: Wow! We have over 10 Member people! ...I think by now it's already way past asking this, but shouldn't we have a group name?

Visual Novel Project Group Name Contest

Because Gendou.com Visual Novel Project may be too generic! So here comes this little contest. Everyone, if you have ideas as to what name should go on the game when we state who created it (Eg. ED Games, something-soft, Square Blocks, Etc.) Send it to me! From there, I'll put it up and well, people vote on the one they like! If there ends up being tons of entries, I may have to decide myself + one or two others as what to cut out. I'll give it till, say this Thursday for entries.

Remember! PM it to meh! You can also think up of a symbol/logo as well, since that contest comes after this!

(this isnt too early to have a contest like this is it? '_')

@Ugo: Put simply, I said I would be willing to lead VA as Jon suggested/I agreed to 1-2 pages back. <_< I'm curious as to whether or not: 1. you saw that? lol 2. if that's alright. xD

About a logo...make it a cute mascot. xD

@Ugo: O_O picky? well I know how it feels ^_^. thanks for loving my enthusiasm

Uhmm, About the Proper Voice editing equipment,
I do have the basic sound equipment
I have here a Digital Audio Workstation that I used on making music, sound effects, and processing vocals,
So if you need a sound engineer, count me in, there wouldn't be any problems here, (except for voices, if the recordings are recorded without a pre-amp, excessive noise may be hard to get rid of)

Voiced VN will be a little bit difficult in this project
But all we need is the generic equipment here,

For my equipment
I hav a
Dynamic Microphone (designed for karaoke)
A Small Practice Guitar Amp (I used this as my preamp on recording guitar parts and vocals)
And a krappy built-in Soundcard (now its not crappy because I have the small practice guitar amp as my preamp)

All I did was Plug my mic into the guitar amp,
turned the built in distortion off,
Set the Lows, Mids, and Highs, to default,
and plugged the guitar amp into the Line-in jack on my soundcard.
Then I record when it is quiet.
After recording, I then process the dry signals with compresors, parametric eqs, reverb and such.

Here's a tutorial on recording your Voice Acting
YOu still can use audacity here. its a very powerful program ^_^
Be sure to have a close to 0 level of noise, (we cant prevent this)
Then when recording, be sure that the wavelengths doesnt CLIP, because that will ruin anything

But not everyone has this kind of setup, but you can still voice act under this conditions:
This is without any preamp:
Condense Desktop Microphone: This microphone is the one with used for chatting.
Chances of digital Noise: 20%,
Environment noise: 50%
Sound clipping chances: 30%
So make sure that everything is Pitch blank when recording.

Dynamic Headphone Microphone: This one will be your best choice when recording your Voice act. but, clipping will be a problem here
Chances of Digital Noise: 15%
Chances of Environment Noise: 10%
Sound clipping chances: 50%

So make sure when you are shouting, make a little distance away from the microphone, Desktop microphone will be a foot or 2 away. For the headphone microphone. maybe 5 inches or so.

Try to experiment until you dont have that CLIPPING sound without suffering from the digital and environmental noise.

^_^

...

Why thank you for that. xD I'll see if I can use some of that to improve my personal recordings. :o

Since you seem to be a sound guru, I have a question for you. When I'm recording with Audacity and I sustain a long, constant note (such as with singing), the recording volume decreases (like it's trying to kill what my appear to be feedback or something). Now, I don't know if it's Audacity or my computer, but do you have any clue as to how to disable it?

>_> And while I'm on that subject, I say ishi can be our "sound quality check". xD

Uhmm, About that
I forgot to tell you guys that you should disable the "Noise Reduction" option on your soundcard, THATS REALLY EVIL TRUST ME!

Can you post a soundclip of it?

Well, about that Sustaining note, There are alot of possibilities though here's what I know
1. It might have been your voice
2. The sound feedbacks to the microphone

So you mean that the recording volume decreases until its gone?
IF its a feedback, Try singing with your desktop speakers turned off. then use a headphone so you can listen to what you are saying
Try to disable any Recording improvements such as Noise Reduction, Auto Leveling. it depends on your sound drive. Just record your vocals without any improvements because, this improvements are actually DEMONS OF RECORDING

Well, I use a headset so I'm pretty sure it isn't feedback.

Here's a sound clip of it.

As for my sound card, I don't know where the options are for it. No properties or advanced windows. <_< (Win XP)
