Has anyone listened to Utada's newest English album, "This Is The One"? Ummm...I'm not happy with it. Not in very the least. I honestly don't like mainstream music, but that was her main influence for this album, which makes me realize that Utada didn't make this album from the bottom of her heart for her fans (cheesy much? ^_^'), but she made it to appease the greater population of mainstream listening people, who probably won't even like this album of hers. Augh...she's just like all those other artists out there who only sing to become popular!! >o<" (maybe that's a bit much...) This album may sound more mainstream, but compared to what's mainstream in the US right now, sounds average. It's not going to succeed in the US...I highly doubt it. If it does, then good for Utada...but she has me very disappointed right now -___-

I love her. She's one of my fave J-Pop artists. My dad's friend copyed her last album to me on CD. My fave songs from her are First Love, Sakura Drops, Hikari and Can you keep a secret.  |

I saw the one video, forget the song title, where she played the piano a bit in the very start of it. That one costume, she almost looked like Koda Kumi with less eye shadow. I forget what the song was called, but it wasn't bad, but it was way too much resembling American R&B which I'm not really into, however I did like how she sang a few certain lyrics the way she did, that's what I liked the most. Her and BoA are making a scene in the American music industry now. :/

Oh, I found it (click here). Embedding disabled. Listening to it now, she reminds me of Mariah Carey really. Listen to the way she sings "I don't want to be alone". The way she sang those lyrics throughout the song were the best part, however I will say her English is still so smooth. It'd be funny if we see her on MTV (US) or something. XD And apparently her name is just "Utada".
