SoL (a replica that looks like the original) is made by Pokota not Pokoto cuz no such name in Revolution. XD Also the name of the legendary beast is called Zanafar not Zafarra. @Kira The spell she casted is called Raguna Blade. Giga Slave is Lina's original spell. Like Raguna Blade, spell which calls on the power of the Lord of Nightmares (Golden Demon Lord). Its power is so great that it cannot even be compared to Dragon Slave; when Lina tested this spell she turned a beach into a bay of death. By casting this spell on the Sword of Light, Lina has defeated Rezo Shabranigdu. This is Lina's most powerful spell, but because it brings the source of nothingness into the world, she has sealed the spell. @Engel Raguna Blade is an original creation of Lina Inverse, calls on the power of the Lord of Nightmares (Golden Demon Lord), which is much more powerful than Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu. Darkness is formed between the caster's hands, which is then shaped into the form of a blade or trowel shape. Since the spell drains a tremendous ammount of magic power, the spell can only be cast when the caster is in dire need, and only then for a brief moment. Since the sealing of the Giga Slave, this spell is Lina's strongest spell. After learning about the true nature of the Lord of Nightmares from the Clair-Bible, more power can be utilized, at the consequence of a shorter spell duration. Raguna Blade is only used once in the later episodes of 'Next' series and is the strongest spell since she sealed up giga slave. Oh ya, another similar spell is called 'Raguna Blast' which is only used once. Since it summons the Hellmaster Fibrizo, the spell is sealed. Also SoL has no effect on Zanafar cuz it is a replica which looks like the original and has the same properities but the power is not as strong as the original. The name of the assassin is called Zuma.

SoL has no effect on Zanafar?? But it seems to me that in the episode 11... Zanafar did seem to be distaughted by it till something happened ... or rather something not happened... (hee... no spoilers for ya here~~~) When Zelgadis mentioned the "original spell"... I suddenly remembered in one of the series, Lina and gang went to look for the "witch" and end up found out that she has passed on, leaving her young grand daughter as the witch (think is the clair bible series)... and in the end when Lina was learning the spell from a book they got from there, the last pages was full of colorful drawings by the little witch when she was younger (she used it as her drawing book). I think after that she somewhat innovated the last parts of the spell... Anyone remember the name of that spell?? |

@Engel If u can remember, when pokota strike at zanafar with SoL, the blade did cut him but has no effect damage on him. Though only SoL can damage any Mazoku race. The part where you mentioned about the 'witch' is from 'Next' series since it was about part of the Clair Bible story. eheheh.. ~sumimasen deshita~ i got the names mixed up here and there XD thanks to Zelgadis-san for pointing those out. LOL. Serves me right for not concealing spoilers XD I got (slightly) spoiled instead XD No worries. I dun mind (little) spoilers. Is Zelgadis-san following the chinese-subs for Slayers as well? Talking about the Mazoku race.. Isn't Xellos one of the Mazoku as well? That's one of the reasons Lina and gang have so much trouble with him. Funny.. I'd have thought someone of the demon race would look err.. demonly? XD

@Bkn09 I'm following both chinese and english subs (though i sucked at chinese).. XD LOL.. Yes, Xelloss is a Mazoku but he's not just any Mazoku. He happens to be the general-priest of Greater Beast Zelas-Metallium. Created from the astral body of Zelas-Metallium herself. PS: The last sentence was taken from my old archives. And also Xellos is consider a beastmaster since it is under 'High level Mazoku' rank.

I thought before the SoL even touched Zanafar, it died? (kinda like run out of batteries... o.o) Hmm... I don't think the witch I mentioned is Aqua (the water dragon lord)... cause it was a young little girl living up in the mountains.... anyway... Even though Xellos looks "human"... the inner self is very much demonish (evil evil!!!) |

Okay. I have overlooked that part. SoL did run out of energy since it is a replica. Well, since Greater Beast Zelas-Metallium created an astral body from her body to create Xellos so he will have part of her powers. Do not forget that Greater Beast Zelas-Metallium is one of the five demon lords underneath Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu. Taken from my old achives: Normally, he wears a happy smile and his eyes are closed- but when those eyes glint open, you'd best be prepared for trouble. Funny thing is, he has almost no weaknesses, so it's not that he can really be hurt in combat. Damage means little - he can regenerate fairly quickly, and physical damage is nigh irrelevant because his 'body' isn't really anything like a human's. Unlike Filia or Zelgadis, Xelloss' appearance is malleable, created wholecloth from his magic powers. (Even his clothes and staff are really part of his 'body'!) His true form remains largely in the astral side. Xelloss is also resistant to most magics and can even shrug off attacks from other Mazoku, simply because they aren't powerful enough to hurt him. The nature of Xelloss' resistance is not quite known, but it's a fact no Mazoku can be killed by any power lesser than itself.

It's not rumor.. The ANN report says the whole 26 episodes series will last for 6 mths so from july onwards to dec but the 1st plot stops in sept and oct has no news of the 2nd plot so their break in between will be in oct so most likely will be out in Nov. So all we do now is to wait for the remaining suspence.. ^^

well, the english subs that I'm following is only out til 12, but 13 should be out in 2-3 days. The news that the series is taking a break kinda caught me by surprise.. and they were so nicely building up to a *spoilernotshown* showdown. XD Someone should tell DN XD

Yeah... Lina and Gourry rarely have their "moments" in the shows. The only one I remembered was in the previous series... when they kissed *arhhhh~~~* which they totally forgot about it after that!! WTH! >_< *goes tell DN* I think he's too afraid to come this thread these days... coz is full of spoilers~ |

I just realise that Zuuma might be Valgarv which Dark Star of Lost Universe has already devoured him last season. I dunno whether is it true or not. Heard from one of the current episodes that Zuuma said "I chose to become assassin because of you". So it's just my speculations.

Congrats DN... though it sounds strange to say so. I'm finally getting to watch Slayers TV (I've never really got around to finish the Season 1 after I missed many episodes when it was aired on local TV...) and guess what... my comp had to die on me... But now that I've got my new comp... I can continue to watch from episode 19 of Season 1.... but then again I've got too many other anime to catch up with after I went 4~5 days without a comp... and I've also started re-watching Season 2 too (cause I was feeling bored with no comp...) Kyaa~~~ Xeros is always so interesting to watch. And I totally love the part where Lina kinda "bluff" Xeros into giving up his 4 piece Magic Amplifier (I forgot the technical term... don't kill me for that Zel-kun *looks up*)~~~ I'm so glad I managed to buy the VCD set for Season 2 and 3... and I'm still looking out for Season 1 and maybe 4 as well (I lack of episode 13... WTH!) |
