i don't think there's more.you can get most of those mascots from CDs for fans(you have to buy them of course)

@Rufus- I may still have it, I'll have to search through my old pictures from my previous computer. What do you mean by clearer? Are you looking for a higher res picture? (Also, what resolution is that wallpaper?)

@Huy

Bare in mind i did not write this FAQ...i found it but the site no longer exists....i can show pics if you need it but i have to "printscreen"...just ask if you're still unsure.

Part A - Setting the system locale to Japanese.
(You will need administrator privileges to set this. If you don't know what that means, you are probably already running as administrator and don't need to worry about it.)

Bring up the Regional and Language Options control panel. On the Languages tab, make sure 'Install files for East Asian Languages' is checked.

If the box is not checked already then you will NEED the windows xp CD! and NO! you cannot download the files you need! the CD is the only way to do it!

Now, select the Advanced tab and set the Language for non-Unicode programs to Japanese.

Now press OK. Press OK when prompted to reboot. Alternatively, you can set Part B below before rebooting.

Part B - Setting the user locale to Japanese
In many cases, setting just the system locale (Part A) to Japanese will be sufficient, but there are a number of Japanese applications that also require the user locale to be set to Japanese in order to run properly. In general, I recommend setting both so you don't have to worry about it.

One thing you need to keep in mind about changing your user locale is that it also changes your default display for Numbers, Currency, Time, and Date to Japanese standards. This setting affects virtually all software you run on your computer. If you use a spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel, etc) or a financial program (Quicken, etc), and you set your user locale to Japanese but fail to Customise the settings back to that to which you are accustomed, you may be surprised later when dates are displayed in Japanese order, yen symbols appear where you expect dollar signs, etc. Fixing this is easy. But you do need to be aware of it.

In Windows? XP, bring up the Regional and Language Options control panel. Under the Standards and formats setting, set your time/date display settings to Japanese.

The above setting will fix programs that rely on the user locale for proper font selection. (Before and After)

Important Notes:
This is a per-user setting. If you have multiple user accounts on this system, each one needs this setting to assure 100% support for Japanese software when using that account.
After setting this, your time, date, and number displays will be set to Japanese standards. For more information about about this, see the page about Customizing the Time and Date After Changing User Locale.

Part C - Entering text in Japanese
Parts A&B should be all you need to play games, but if you need to be able to enter text in Japanese:
In Windows? XP, press the Details button on the Languages tab of the Regional and Language Options control panel and you will be presented with a screen where you can add input methods for all the languages Windows? XP supports.

Press the Details button on the Languages tab of the Regional and Language Options control panel and you will be presented with a screen where you can add input methods for all the languages Windows? XP supports.

RESTART YOUR COMPUTER

@C ~スーパーSMILE

they are basically little animated characters that sit on your tool bar...they talk...wave their hans...etc. If multiple of them are on they talk to each other. They use up RAM so becareful.

The ones i have are 10 Love Hina ones....20 Negima ones....& 2 Sailormoon
Here is an example:

Kay already gave the link to some of the Negima mascots...i uploaded the 2nd "set" once before but took it down....if you want it i'll have to upload it again. Again just ask if you or anyone so wants them....

I just downloaded a Japanese Language pack I found on Google since I didn't get the Windows XP CD when I bought my computer. (I have access to one but didn't feel like finding it.)

I don't know if I could get a higher res than that. Although I can edit the 1024x768 pic. Can you send it through PM? I'd have a hard time finding it.

@ Huy

"Your desktop is...very crowded... ^^"

It's usually not that crowded....my desktop usually looks like the ones i posted before...i only have the mascots on if i'm bored. That was just an example of what desktop mascots are for those who were wondering.

@ Mio

I posted the site where the Love Hina ones were found.....wayyyyyy back in this thread but i think the site no longer available. I can create a zip folder with the Love Hina ones for you if you want. Just give me a shout if you're interested. It'll take me some time to do that & upload it to my file-sharing site...but all in all it's no prob.

*note* i like the Negima ones better since the Love Hina ones are REALLY annoying at times especially Kaolla...she JUST DOESN'T SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!*

@ Mio

Okay! ^___^

Here you go....just unzip the file...it's about 1.5 MB so it won't take long.

Love Hina Mascots

Again...if you wanna stay "sane" i recommend NOT using Kaolla Su....she'll drive you nuts!!!! The functions are pretty straight forward...some of them are in english. If you're confused feel free to ask.

Personally i tend to use Shinobu, Kanako, Motoko & Emma....Naru is okay but she gets annoying at times to. Enjoy!

I think I'll give the mascots a try again. I use to have mascots for my comp but they got on my nerves a little too often. (Can't remember the series they were from.)

@Izumo- I don't suppose you know a site where more of those can be found do you? GS ones would be cool. I use to have some, but that was on the old computer.

@Izumo, i won't recommend them to use MaCoPix though...reason being...it's for Linux using X windows system(and i can say that most people here use Windows). but hey, thanks for the link^^. now i can have mascots for my Linux system *_*
