Oh that sucks. If it was YLOD I'd be really upset for you, but glad things are going to work out. Sucks you have to regain like save datas and such, to all those games, too. Good thing PSN can save trophies and whatnot, but yeah you and your brother share fadedsand right? Jesus, you think you guys would get separate accounts sooner or so? D: Dang, ask to borrow AC:B I've never seen your old name playing it. There's exclusive DLC through it, I'm not sure if you dLed it before or so. Cause if your register your brother's name onto it, have him dL it, you can then dL it too if you add his name onto your PS3. I still have my friend's PSN+ account so whenever exclusive stuff comes out I just hop on and dL stuff (after telling him of course). What other stuff do you have on your other PSN name? I'd say make a new one and start over but regaining trophies can be a biotch. Just that well, it sounds lamer than Fadedsand at least... XD If I don't get to it and if you start adding people, my PSN's still xakxDA. Unfortunately still trying to get that faster internet, my dad's like keep changing his mind... :( ------- |

@Maiku - I'll get on that next time I'm on PS3. Also, if you transfer your save data over to your own PS3 with a USB Drive then you shouldn't lose anything from LP2. Even if you can't do that though, you are still able join a game hosted by me or Ray, regardless of what level we are playing. @Maiku & Ray - That reminds me, I suggest that before our next session of LP2, you guys should go to the Character Customization screen and look for the 'LP2 Slot Machine' option. You need to press Triangle in the Customization menu to get to it. You spend the money there and it randomly unlocks new taunts, titles and weapons for you. Just thought I would let you guys know in case you haven't done it yet. @Izumo-san - I wanted to ask you, what did you think of Record of Agerast(?) War? I see Aksys Games logo on it which I've had a miss/near miss experience with. Is the gameplay any good, or is it simply there to fill the gap between the suggestive 'Soul Breeding' stuff? I had the intention of starting an RPG (even though I have Atelier Rorona to finish), but Blazing Souls: Accelate was a complete washout. The only thing I know about RoAW at the moment is that the Limited Edition for 360 is the most blatant use of sex to sell a game I've seen in a while (to sell a T rated game anyway). @DA - I think it's about $20 dollars new nowadays. It's a Greatest Hits title, so it's no more than 30 at the most. Unfortunately though, it does not have trophy support. I don't usually aim for Platinum's. The only games so far I have gotten the Platinum for are Uncharted, Mirror's Edge, Borderlands and Bayonetta. I could do Killzone 2 if I felt like pouring a full week of game time in to the multiplayer to get the Grand Valor Cross and all the freaking ribbons, but screw that, and I could get Uncharted 2 if I just put the time in to beat Crushing. |

@ Jon-san Like i mentioned before some fans of the series believe cause of poor decisions & incompetance at Squarenix Versus is being held back in development. Again it doesn't help that Nomura-san & his team have so many projects on their hands. This gen i feel Nomura-san is the only one giving fans hope of what that company can do, so far all the better games to come out of Square are Nomura games like Crisis Core, The world ends with You, Dissidia, Birth by Sleep etc. To bad these are all handhelds, we have yet to see what Nomura's team can do with a console. It is beyond me (though i have an idea) why the suits at Squarenix decide to release a sequel to a mediocre Final Fantasy game rather than one that has been in development for as long as GT5. I've voiced my displeasure for what is going on in THAT company already, so anyways to answer your question about Agarest War. It is very similar to any stragedy game like FF Tactics & to a lesser extent Disgaea. So if you like those kind of games at all it is worth checking out. However like those games Agarest can be a grind. Though like all compile heart games ala (Cross Edge) if you want the True ending you will need to do everything perfect. The game is like 5 games in one, there is 5 seperate stories that link together. I'm on the 2nd story so far & plan to continue again later at another time. The 'sex images' are pretty tame in my opinion (though this is coming from a guy that plays eroge :P), they are more ecchi than anything & implied images which can be funny. So my verdict YOU have to be a hardcore gamer of this genre to enjoy the game. @ Toyumi-san Some of my personal suggestions Demon's Souls - Western RPG, really hard but really rewarding & satisfying Resonance of Fate - JRPG, really different than tradional RPGs but addicting Vanquish/Bayonetta - both of these from the same makers & both REALLY FUN! Disgaea 3 - Hardcore dungeon grinding that is super hilarious Blazblue - over the top fighting goodness Killzone 2 - one of the best looking shooters out there...until Killzone 3 GT5 - racing simulation at its best....really BIG game! 3D Dot Game Heroes - old school Zeldaish fun, for hardcores only! |

@Izumo-san - Well it's rated T, so they obviously don't go anywhere beyond suggestive. I was just wondering if the gameplay was good enough to stand on its own or if it was simply there to service the ecchi aspects. I did like Disgaea quite a bit, so maybe I will pick it up off of the Playstation Store. I will have to upgrade my Hard Drive first though, I've been meaning to do that for quite a while. I need to do it now, since I'm starting to hit under 1 gig quite often. Also, I approve of recommending Disgaea 3. That one slipped my mind. |

@ Jon-san If you are going to spend the money on it i suggest watching some videos of the game (gameplay wise) to see if it is up your alley. You may like games like Tactics & Disgaea but there are differences in Agarest that may not be what you are expecting. There is a learning curve in the game that may take awhile to get use to & it can be pretty challenging at times. I like it cause i'm a sucker for anime style characters with cute female characters which this game has ALOT of, the DLC just like in Cross Edge will greatly help out early on but again it will cost quite abit. There is a synth system that is almost the same as Cross Edge. Actually now that i think about it, Agarest is bascially a stragedy version of Cross Edge. Picture the special attack linking of Cross Edge only done top-down & that is what Agarest's battle system is like, but you have to get in range to attack. Again not for everyone. Thanks Disgaea was great...too bad i got frustrated when they released the trophy patch, too lazy to do everything again. Disgaea 4 is looking even more fun too! The preview was insanely AWESOME!!! Check out this pure goodness!!! Flonne Gundam at 1:07!!!! That alone is worth the price!! |

I got RoAW a week or two back and I've been enjoying it. Unfortunately, my current (and old) PS3 has only 40gb of memory, so to re-download it I'll have to move a lot of memory around. I moved a lot of save data from my new (but not current) PS3 to my old (but current) PS3, including LP2, FFXIII, NSUNS2, BB:CS, and a few others. I second each of Izumo's suggestions as well as Jon's. I'll have to think which games I'd add to their lists. ::Jon and Ray:: I'd like to get in some LP2 before the semester starts on Wednesday, though I think Jon can't do weekdays. Am I remembering right? If we can't, this Saturday should work well for me. |

I found a pretty humorous crack in the PSN system. When I was creating my JPN account, I entered in random, incoherent symbols, and everything worked out fine. The email address I entered wasn't even valid, and neither were the communication lines or anything. In hindsight, you don't need to give Sony any personal information to create an account (as long as you make the age 18+). If only there was a way to change your online name. I know with XBL, if your name gets reported enough (which your friends can do), then Microsoft would force you to change your name; you wouldn't get a little ban or anything either. That's much better than having to pay like they normally do to change their name. I just wish Sony had something along those lines to promote name changes and such. EDIT: To anyone that doesn't have my PSN, here it is,just tell me who you are upon invite please. USA: DSG-x-3 JPN: RenderedEmotions |

(ah goddamn maintenance....) [@Jon] Yeah that does suck. Hmm, are you going to get the new MGS? Doesn't come out for quite a while though and the trailer doesn't show much right now. I saw you had a Plat in Bayonetta a while ago, impressive. Killzone 2 Plat is hard simply cause of those online trophies, cause one of them is like ranking the Top on something, I don't remember the exact details. People can be whores when it comes to ranking Top on shooters, and there's always those hackers/boosters, too. Thought about getting LP2, but I'm not really a fan of it's type of shooter/shooting style. I did have fun playing the demo online with you and other members a while back. I've been bored lately after finishing AC:B and with [soon] faster internet I can finally play it online and other games online, too. [@Haseo] Yeah I saw (I think it was you) on PSN playing a Japanese game, but it's not really a crack. You really only need an e-mail to register a PSN account, and honestly you can even make it up. The only time it'd backfire is when you actually cared about your password recover e-mail. I created a JPN account a while back just to play the Narutimate Storm 2 demo before it came over to the US PSN. Deleted it after that. Btw, is your avatar some dragon or something? It looked cool, was curious cause I never saw that avatar before. I was wishing Sony could have users change their online PSN names when I first started on PSN, but after that, but really by now and now I'm used to my name. Not really sure what else I'd change it to anyways. If I keep playing PS3 while I'm overseas or something, I'd rather keep my name rather than making new ones and starting over. Having to regain trophies on a new or different PSN has to be one of the most complicated and irritating things ever. Microsoft sucks for having to charge you just to change your dang gamertag, but hey that's Microsft, and there's people out there who'd do it and probably do it often... Their yearly online service is also like 10$ more than PSN+. Fail. They did buy Ubisoft, though that was only to piss off Steve Jobs. [@Toyumi] For a starter, you could also get the GOD of War collection which features God of War 1&2 for like 30$? Features the first two games originally for PS2, remade for the PS3's platform with trophy support. Honestly, I think it's easy to get a Plat in both of those too, and God of War 3 is also out if you'd like the series after those two. If you're patient, you definitely should check out the Team Ico bundle. Features two of the best games, arguably ever for the PS2, in one bundle remade for the awesome PS3. Buy yeah starting out, get like 2 games. Having so many games at a time, especially new ones gets annoying and expensive. My one friend buys all these games new and full price and barely plays all of them and it's a waste. ------- |

@Izumo-san - After taking a look at the gameplay, any interest I had in it was pretty much killed. The battle system looks almost identical to Blazing Souls, which I just traded in today because I couldn't stand to play 10 minutes of it. Disgaea 4 looks awesome though, can't wait for that to come out over here (which will be forever). @Maiku - Weekends are pretty much the only good time for me, mainly because I'm so far ahead in terms of time zones from you guys. I think 8pm Gendou Time is like 12 my time. Midnight is pretty much my limit for weekends, since I would have to get up at 7 for school. It's 6pm where I am now, and it's only 1:30pm in Gendou Time. I would be fine with playing some LP2 on Wednesday until midnight, but we would have to start at like 9 or 10 my time just to get a good 2 or 3 hour session in, and that means you guys would have to start at like 4pm. Edit: Yeah, I'm about 4 and a half hours ahead of Gendou Time. |

@ Jon- Thanks for the suggestions. I want to get Valkyria Chronicles at some time or another, although it's not even available online at Gamestop at the moment (I just checked too >.>). And yeah, I've heard of Uncharted and Uncharted 2 before. Uncharted 2 is another option of what to get along with my PS3 if Heavy Rain isn't in stock or something. @ DA- Well, I was planning on getting 3 or 4 games when I get my PS3, and then getting other games later. I like to switch around between games a lot, especially when I get stuck at parts. I'll stop playing the game that I got stuck with and start playing another. And most of the time, when I come back to the game, I manage to get past that part I got stuck on. For those situations, I like to have a few games to choose from. XD And thanks for the suggestions too. @ Izumo- Thanks for the suggestions, Resonance of Fate seems really interesting. I'll try it out sometime, when I can find it (Like with Valkyria Chronicles, it's not even available online at the moment). @ All- Thanks for the suggestions! (Well, for those of you that made suggestions.) Hopefully I'll be getting my PS3 within the next few weeks, so I'll be back here when I get it. |

@Toyumi - I don't know about Resonance of Fate, but Valkyria Chronicles is currently available from Play-Asia and is (for the moment) 10 dollars off. Can be found here. Resonance of Fate is a pretty good RPG, but I found the battle system to be really difficult to get the hang of. It took me quite a while to become good at it. Edit: Resonance of Fate is also on Play-Asia and is currently 30 dollars off. Link. |

@ Jon-san So that is what Blazing Souls is like. I was seriously contemplating picking it up but since you now say it is like Agarest War i will pass on it. Having one game like that is enough for me, won't be able to handle another one. As for Disgaea 4, i know the game is gonna release in Japan in February & NISA has already stated the game will arrive sometime in the summer. So it won't be as long as one would think. Also i may have a new fave character (Sorry Flonne & Rozy), everytime i see Fuuka (prinny gal) i can't help but smile. Asagi was awesome as a prinny & if she is anything like that...SCORE!!!! Anyways i just wanna ask everyone here how much do you think you will be spending on games this year? I know for one that this year is not gonna be cheap for me. So far i have planned to get the following... Pre-ordered Killzone 3 Neptune Future pre-orders AR Tonelico Quoga Resistance 3 3rd Birthday Team Ico Collection Disgaea 4 Last Guardian Tales of Graces F < --- if rumors are true it is coming Possible Uncharted 3 Dissidia 012 Mass Effect 2/3 **EDIT** In about 2 hours this Sony meeting conference will be held. Many speculations is that the PSP2 will finally be officially announced as well as the PSPhone. For me the thing with the PSP2 is that for it to survive the PRICE will be the determining factor. I hope Sony learned their lessons with the Go launch & give a reasonable price similar to the 3DS. I love my PSP (still own the original 1000 model), i will definitely buy the PSP2. Also other speculations is future titles may be announced, their business plan for the year, sales figures & so on. I'm gonna be up all night so i'll keep you guys updated if there is anything BIG mentioned. |

The Last Guardian is once again pushed back to next year! WTF. And there's no new news about the Team Ico collection, which I want to get. I recently spent like 200$ online so I don't wanna really spend anymore money, and once I get faster internet I was just going to soak into online play with the games I do have. Definitely if it releases this year AC3, damn AC franchise is friggin' killer! Not sure about Killzone 3, maybe Portal 2 (plus members get the first for free, so I might snag that on my friend's account), etc. I really wanted to get Mass Effect 3, the friggin' trailer looked like a movie trailer! But I'd have to get 2 to get the story (I guess, I played Brotherhood and I know everything about AC now). All I can say, Microsoft/XBox has no chance against Sony this year. Sony's only moving up the ladder even higher now. But yes, I really do hope they release more info on Team Ico bundle/TLG. TGS didn't really reveal anything significant about TLG, was kind of bummed out. [@Shuy] Doing a system update now, but what was your PSN again? In case you forget to add me. ------- |

Nothing surprising with the NGP (been watching IGN's coverage live, minus video). It's basically what everyone expected. Incredible graphics for a handheld, dual analog sticks, back and front touch screens, 3G, cameras....I'm a little disappointed that they didn't take the design in another direction-it still looks like the PSP. I like the name, but the design should look like an NGP, not a PSP2. Sony just doesn't reinvent quite like Nintendo. Nobody does, which is why I'll be getting a 3DS launch day and an NGP-2000 after the price drop. Of course, its the software that really matters, and I expect the number of ports we'll see on the NGP will surpass anything else-it took a week for a developer to change a planned Ps3 release into an NGP game. They showed LP2 on the system, among others. Which is all well and gnarly-a co-op game like LP2 on the go with 3G would be totally legit, though I can't help but feel like a lot of the titles that show up on this thing will be available on the Ps3 as well, which is where I'll be picking them up, as my buddies all have PS3s and no NGPs, and they will likely not get NGPs any sooner than I will, if ever. Unfortunately I'm not a huge fan of Killzone and Resistance, but Uncharted's showing is reason enough to celebrate. If it's not a port, I'll be more keen to pick up an NGP this holiday season (er...or later probably, for the US date). I'm going to have to wait and see what's announced for the machine, but again, I feel like Sony's biggest franchises would simply be better on the PS3, a similar qualm I had with the PSP (another qualm being its poor excuse for an analog stick, which has been fixed :D). I feel like Sony should have announced their price now. The 3DS is coming soon and if Sony wanted to steal more of it's thunder, announcing a price of 300-350 would definitely have made a lot of would be 3DS-adopters reconsider. I think the reason I'm so negative is because the PSP just didn't appeal to me that much. The NGP looks amazing and if I have the extra cash lying around (unlikely what with Skyrim and Uncharted 3 coming out in that same window) I will definitely be picking it up. And to think I usually try to leave the pessimism and nay-saying to you guys. Edit: Uncharted is an original, new adventure, praise be Bend! And Gravity Daze looks rad. Edit: Yeah I'm totally buying this. |
