Woah, XIII-2? What's that all about. That armor costume Lightning was wearing does look mighty sexy on her! O.o` Not digging the logo though. FF always had a nice logo for all their games mostly. That new one looks... lame. :( ------- |

@ Yuna-san You're welcome, i stayed up very late to read the liveblogs that were happening when the conference was happening. Had 3 hours of sleep before i went to work (which i am at now :P)....but seeing these trailers was pretty much worth it. Since FF 13-2 is being made for both PS3 & 360 the chances of it getting localized is very high. Just don't expect to see it until next year cause the release date that was mentioned for this year is for Japan only. It sucks which means Versus 13 won't be ready until next year in 2012 unless some miracle happens. Judging by how Versus looks the wait will be worth it. FF Type-0 i read is so big it will require 2 UMDs, since the PSP is very close to its end (rumors of PSP2 abundant), this may well be the last great game for the system. Like i said the HD trailers for these will be up on Squarenix official site on the 20th (type 0/13-2) & 27th (versus) |

@Izumo : 2 UMDs, longest game on the PSP. I haven't been looking into rumors or such about the PSP2 maybe something at E3 this year? As for FFXIII-2, there is an epilogue online -forgot the site :/- explaining the events immediately after the games ending. For Versus XIII, I'm extremely pleased that's it's staying a PS3 exclusive. seeing Versus gameplay. Kingdom Hearts and Crisis Core comes to mind :D -Edit- Kingdom Hearts 3DS looks so epic. Dream Drop Distance huh? gotta give SE props for that creative title :P |

FFXIII-2, Versus, Type 0, and KH3D all look stellar. Can't wait. I think rumors point to the PSP2 reveal being a lot sooner than E3. |

@ Yuna-san I remember seeing that too somewhere, the continuation of what happens after at the end of the game. Interesting to see who that guy/gal is that Lightning is sparring with in the trailer...i hope judging by her new outfit this isn't another 'dressphere' gameplay like the last Final Fantasy sequel. Oh a funny thing i read in forums is that this new game is the 'extra content' that was cut out of the original game as well as the planned DLC that was scrapped. Well that is just speculation from some sarcastic gamers. Squarenix has stated that this 'new' game will address the issues that plagued the first game & is their way to make amends. Also at the forums it was stated again by Nomura-san that the trailer was slowed down to witness the movements of Noctis. In the full game he will move alot faster. @ Maiku-san As we all know Sony is pretty poor at keeping secrets (even having Jack Trenton joking about it), so it is guaranteed that the PSP2 will have an official reveal either at GDC or E3. I did read that Sony may plan a news conference to reveal the system. **Edit** Finally found the trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3DS |

I was incredibly disappointed. I have an actual interest in Versus XIII, because I really want to play another console Final Fantasy game (one that didn't make me want to stop playing 10 minutes in), but all they did was show another trailer and moved on in favor of another FFX-2. I have no idea of what Agito is, nor have I seen any images related to it besides the logo. In my opinion, Square-Enix is trying to do way too much at once. They have so many games in development and that have been released over the past year or two that are supposed to be big titles. At least I can still kind of look forward to The 3rd Birthday. Another year of standing off to the side and waving goodbye to the Square-Enix bandwagon as it leaves town for me. @Yuna - Don't hold you breath, FFXIII was announced the same way and wasn't long heading over to 360. They even stuck by the "only on PS3" thing in Japan until it came out a year later. I'm almost done with Golden Sun DS. I only have one more Djinni to find and I believe I'm on my way to the last dungeon. I probably won't bother with Crossbone Isle in this game though, I have too many other games to try and get done. After I finish that I think I'll start on Blazing Souls: Accelate. I have pretty much gotten my fill of GT5 for the time being (plus I had to delete the install data to make room for another game, so it would take too long to jump back in to), but I feel that I got enough out of it to justify the cost of the Collector's Edition. Plus, I will go back to it one day. I just have a bunch of other games to try and finish. |

Anyone else beat AC:B yet? I finished it yesterday, bumped the official game thread, and want to discuss the ending as well as the game overall. People are already talking about AC3 and already it'll be friggin' epic because of how apparently all the ACs thus far have ended. ------- |

@Izumo — Great Job bringing up those videos! I saw the Versus one earlier today, and was hoping that the others would be put up. Hadn't checked since then, and here I find them all on Gendou, haha. As far as the games go, I've been waiting on Versus over XIII since they were both announced. I've always wanted Versus more, and the fact it was said to only be for PS3 is one of the factors that led to me waiting so long for a next-gen system until I recently got my PS3 for myself on Christmas. Versus looks epic, and I've never had this kind of hype for another video game. Too bad it will probably be a summer 2012 of even fall 2012 release date at least. As for XIII-2, don't feel too irked that it's hitting shelves before Versus. In an interview back when XIII was released, the development team talked about how they had to cut an insane amount of content from XIII because it was too long and had too many things. They said the cut content was enough for an entire game. So, with XIII-2, don't be surprised that it probably takes very little effort to get out there since they are able to bring out a lot of things that didn't make it into XIII and simply add onto it. It has been said the battle system for XIII-2 will be an evolved form of XIII. I really hope they do away with a lot of the stuff from XIII. Specifically I'd like to have towns, sidequests, and an improved character progression system. I would also like to have levels return for characters and for them to get rid of the paradigm system in favor of a better job system. Afterall, the Paradigm System was developed VERY late in XIII's creation, as a way to make the battle system more complex and involving. I love job changes, but not the paradigm system. As for Agito [ I mean, Type-0 ] SE has already tradmarked the names Type-1,2, and 3 in the hopes that this series will branch off into it's own series like the main FF series. Should be interesting, as I've been looking forward to Agit-- I mean, Type-0, for awhile as well. The fact it's on two UMD's isn't too surprising. Looking at Dissidia and then Birth By Sleep, it's gotten a lot harder for the PSP to handle the newer games, forcing players to Download game data in order to make load times managable. This could very well be one the last PSP1 games and at least possible the last FF. Finally, as for KH 3D, I've thought from the beginning that game is a joke. I LOVE the KH series, but I've thought that the 3DS is just a gimmick to make money, and I believe KH 3D will be doing the same. Really, it doesn't look like the story will really evolve in KH3D. looks more like a money maker rather than a solid game. They should just make KHIII all ready.. e.e; |

@ Jon-san The FF 13-2 announcement came before the Versus stuff, It was like a good 15-20 mins worth of news regarding Versus which was the very last thing they talked about. My gripe is that this new ff 13 game will be released before Versus & cause of the FF 13 team's incompetance Versus is the one that gets screwd over. The word around the final fantasy crowd is that the reason Versus is so behind is that during the development of 13 Nomura's team had to stop what they were doing with the game & help complete 13. So we could've seen more from the game if it weren't for this speculation. Also it didn't help since Nomura has so many titles that he is apart of like Dissidia 2, 3rd Birthday & Kingdom Hearts 3DS. Like i said it looks more likely that Versus will have a Japanese date of early 2012 & we get it later that year. Anyways i found the trailer/gameplay to be refreshing. It looks absolutely stunning even in seeing it in youtube format, imagine it in HD! The character models look more fleshed out compared to the earlier trailers, the enviroments look amazing (for a sec in the beginning i thought it was real), & of course Squarenix has always been good at CG. The gameplay like Nomura stated is reminicent of Kingdom Hearts/Crisis Core, the battles system could be like Enix games & rendered in real-time. Not sure if anyone noticed but during the footage out in the grassy open it looked like there was a day-night transition spedup. If that is true it makes the game that much more epic. The usage of vehicles is a cool bonus too. I believe in Nomura when he said many times that this game will remain only for PS3. Heck there is a higher chance this game will go on the Wii before it goes on the 360 since that is the other system that he has worked on. Also Squarenix has yet to release a console exclusive for the PS3 it is about time they did. The last console exclusive was i believe FF 12.....5 years ago!!! Judging by the gameplay for Agito/Type-0 it may be similar to Crisis Core as well except there are 12 characters to choose from (or whatever many characters there are in the game). It looks promising. |

XIII-2 is going to bad. I loved the paradigm system (definitely over any KH battle system, even over Chain of Memories, my personal favorite KH) I found your joke about the 3DS being about making money quite entertaining. Nintendo is a business, after all. As for it being gimmicky, I also think otherwise. The 3DS is going to be the best handheld system ever, and the games they've shown off have done nothing to say otherwise. Launch date and prices and more announcements coming tomorrow :D Though I do agree they should get to working on KHIII rather than all these spinoffs. |

I'm pretty sure Versus 13 will stay a PS3 exclusive. If it's going to use a similar engine as FF13, then that would be a good reason to keep it exclusive. I remember hearing that FF13 had like 5 discs on the 360, but had 1 for PS3. That just shows how superior the PS3 is, and they don'tneeds to spend the extra money to port it to a console that only cares about FPS rather than JRPG's. I |

@Izumo-san - I still have some hope in my blackened heart for Versus, but until people start actually getting their hands on some gameplay, I remain relatively uninterested. They have shown a lot of scripted stuff, like trailers and a gameplay trailer, but as far as I am aware, there has not been a live presentation of it. Now they are releasing other, previously unknown, games before it, like a sequel to the game that only got so-so reviews. Let's not even get started on the amount of work they have left to do on FFXIV, which they still need to fix on the PC and have to have ready for the PS3 versions launch. Then there are all those other games you mentioned. I also just got around to installing the Valkyria Chronicles 3 Japanese demo (I haven't played in PSP in quite some time since I've been on the PS3 and DS lately. A couple of things about the game from playing the demo: -As far as characters go, based entirely on looks and the little Japanese I actually understand, I am seeing a vast improvement compared to VC2. For instance, the main character. This, compared to this, is a welcome change to say the least. -Graphics are about the same in my opinion. I didn't notice any major difference in the character or environment models between 2 and 3. The anime cutscenes however, they look much better. -Still not really down with characters swinging around combination sword/bazooka weapons bigger than themselves, or having shield classes use tank destroying broadswords. -The inclusion of unique 'Special Attacks' is pretty awesome. I am concerned however, especially with one of the characters. One of the main female protagonists can turn in to a Valkyria at will (assuming you have Special Attack points to use. I got 3 in the demo). I didn't think it would work at first, but I found out that she is pretty much as indestructible as Selvaria/Other Valkyria. In the demo, when I encountered the boss character in the last demo mission, I had 3 special attack points left. It only took one for me to turn the girl into a Valkyria, run straight past a gatling bunker, tank, soldiers and the boss without taking any damage at all, and headshot the boss (front on, no less) to score a one hit kill. I hope that there are some stipulations to the special attack or Valkyria thing in the full game, because I can see that turning in to a game breaking ability. -Music sounds nice. I'm not really a big music aficionado, so I can't really appreciate it that much. -Characters apparently have distinct uniforms. Characters seemed to have altered their uniforms in personal ways. One female character wears a long dress-like outfit, while another looked to be wearing a school-girl style outfit with the sleeves cut off. That is really cool in my opinion. It really helps give the characters a little life, especially when it appears that they are still using 1 style of character model for the characters. -Artillery attacks (at least enemy ones) now take place as your character moves. You can be shelled if you are in an artillery zone as you run around. This bumps up artillery attacks from 'minor nuisance' to 'incredibly dangerous'. In the end, I'm really happy so far about what they did with the game. I'm getting anxious to find out an NA release date since it is out in Japan on the 27th of this month. |

I just fixed my old Ps3 (part took months to get here >.>) so I'll be bringing that and my Wii up with me this semester. I'm going to go back to my old account, holysaber0000, so it'd be great if everyone could re-add me. I also have to repurchase both Black Ops and LBP2. I won't have them immediately, unfortunately. I'm going to try and grab LBP2 first and bring back the elites, and hopefully get Black Ops soon after. I will be bringing LP2 up, as well as NSUNS2, BlazBlue CS, and a large number of single-player titles that I need to catch up on. As soon as I purchase something that will let me use my Wii on my monitor, I'll also be available for SSBB, and again I'll be catching up on a lot of the titles that I've purchased recently (Donkey Kong, Kirby, 007, Epic Mickey). In regards to all my Ps3 games, I can only hope I don't have to unlock a whole lot, though I know in the case of NSUNS2 I'll have to replay the entire single-player campaign. Hopefully I won't have to replay anything in LP2 for us (Jon, Ray, and myself) to get back into it. Anyway, I've got enough money for my 3DS and Pokemon Black, and Dragon Age 2 is on the pre-order, so all is well. |

@Maiku - So any idea of when we will play LP2 next? I have to trade in Blazing Souls: Accelate, which is incredibly rare for me, but I cannot stand to play 10 minutes of it. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I found it so boring and unbearable. I'll probably just put the credit towards Killzone 3 to get that paid off. |

Hey everyone. I plan on getting a PS3 sometime in the near future since I've been getting back into gaming more recently (All I have now is a Wii and a DSi), and I was wondering if anyone has any advice for games to get with it. I've never payed much attention to good games outside of the Nintendo platforms until recently (I now know that I've been missing quite a lot), so I'm unsure what good games and series there are on other consoles. I'm open to suggestions for games of any genre as long as it's a good game. So far, the only games I plan on getting are CoD: Black Ops, Little Big Planet 2, and Heavy Rain. |

@Toyumi - You can't go wrong with Little Big Planet 2. No opinion on Black Ops for me, since I don't buy in to the new modern warfare CoD games. Heavy Rain was an amazing experience as far as I'm concerned, but once you finish it the first time there isn't a big reason to play it again since the identity of the killer never changes, and that is pretty much where all the drama and tension come from. Other than that, it depends on what you like to play. Personally, my recommendations from my collection are: Valkyria Chronicles - RPG Borderlands - FPS (Great co-op play as well.) Gran Turismo 5 - Racing Simulation Bayonetta - Action Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 - FPS (Pretty fun co-op. Both games are also pretty cheap now. Running about $20 new and $14 or $17 used.) Devil May Cry 4 - Action (Also relatively cheap. It's one of my least favorite games in the series, falling below both 1 and 3, but it's still pretty good.) Yakuza 3 - Action/Adventure (Fun beat-em-up, and provides complete story details of the past games for newcomers to the series) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - Stealth Action (Great game, and the online mode, Metal Gear Online, is definitely a refreshing change of pace from other online shooters. Also a cheap game to pick up.) Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - Action/Third-Person Shooter (Cheap game to pick up. Lost Planet 2 is great for co-op play, but is very light on narrative and character, so I would recommend the first game over the second in this case, unless you have a bunch of people to play LP2 with, as me, Maiku and Ray are currently doing.) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune & Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - Action/Adventure (These are two games that you really should not miss under any circumstance. You've probably heard about both of them if you have expressed interest in a PS3, but they really are two of the best games you will ever play on the system. Well, assuming you like the game play style anyway. It's basically Tomb Raider, except done well.) Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - Action/Adventure (Cheap game to get, but really fun. I have yet to play the second game, A Crack in Time.) Those are all that I will recommend for now. I have plenty of games to suggest, but it largely depends on your taste in games. I play little bits of each genre, but I'm generally more in to RPG's than anything else. |

[@Maiku] Hmm, what happened to your PS3? And yeah, I'll re-add you whenever I remember to. Why do you need to "rebuy" Black Ops? Did you loose a copy or something or did it get damaged? That sucks though. Btw, do you have AC:B? [@Toyumi] If you're a Naruto fan, must definitely get Narutimate Storm 2. Heck if you want the whole jump start, try the first one. There are minor differences in the two, but the newer features online. If you're into action/adventure, most definitely check out the Uncharted series and Assassin's Creed series. Although I haven't played 1 or completed 2, I know about them, and after recently finishing Brotherhood, I have to say it's one of the most in depth storylines in a gaming series ever... by far. Not only that AC3 which will possibly be released this year (2011) will be WIDELY anticipated. AC:B can be debated as game of the year 2010, AC3 could easily be 2011 game of the year though it'd be released incredibly late to qualify. Honestly, get like 2 games to start to save money... Games will drop within months so don't worry. If you really wanna get LBP2, might as well get the bundle PS3 deal. Large space and LBP2. Also a tip, choose your PSN name wisely, cause you can't change it, but the amount of PSN accounts you can create is endless (given the amount of different e-mail addresses), and if you know Japanese you can create a JPN PSN account and check out new demos and awesome features and games on their PSN too. [@Jon] How much is MGS: Guns of the Patriots now? To be perfectly honest, I've never played it myself, just seen millions of videos. I feel like I'm in a platinum hunting mode since I'm really close to getting AC:B Platinum (excluding the online trophies which I can get over time). I'm close with Madden 11's Platinum (literally need like 3 more trophies), and I was REALLY close with Battlefield: BC2 before they added costly DLC trophies. Wish I could've borrowed my friend's Heavy Rain before I left school, that was something I wanted to try. Maybe I should start renting games again, at least before I start school again. Man, my precious life's wasting away. ------- |

::DA:: My original Ps3 broke, and I've been using a new slim for the last...maybe year? I finally fixed my old Ps3 (the part I ordered months ago finally arrived. I had given up hope) I need to rebuy Black Ops because my first copy belongs to my brother, as does LBP2 (we share the price of purchasing, for the most part). I own Assassins Creed Brotherhood the same way I own Black Ops: I have access to it all I want while at home, as my brother owns it. Otherwise... :( |
