FACT In sending order [to the first the entry sent to the last sent] ![]() ![]() Total from which one of the judges: 84/100 76/100 85/100 90/100 ------ 83.75 Comments: The avatar's too bright compared to the banner if you ask me, which breaks them apart. I didn't give it a high score in eye catching, because it's not very bright. But that's not saying it's bad. It's really a great looking piece of work. The avatar looks a bit too bright for me,or I guess the brightness looks weird. The sig pretty much done well.I like the effect and the color. Overall, great set. Let's talk about the signature first: this seems like a signature that was fairly planned out, which somehow backfired and turned into C4D overload. There is a good attempt at flow with the render placement (very nice), lighting, and shadows. While the top-right corner somewhat fits it, everything in the middle to lower-left ruins it. Speaking of the lighting, there are only shadows; no highlights. The render has a noticeable highlight on the side of her face and shoulder but the rest of the sig doesn't provide a light source for this highlight, and it looks off. I have no problem with the "spotlight" text, but the name is hard to read. This is definitely an above-average sig, and it could have been boss, but beyond the visual noise, it lacks composure. As for the avatar... lol. It is much brighter than the signature, which I like. It complements the signature without copying it. It might just be a little too bright. But overall I like it. Excelent Set! It gets messy with the use of abstracts. Too much of it losing the flow. Look out for it! And the Avatar is way Too bright. You could have done a play with shadows and light like you did in the sig. But it is like i said: Overall it is a great set. ![]() Totals: 69/100 81/100 64/100 74/100 ------ 72/100 Comments: Catches the eye as the colors are vivid. But at the same time the mix of colors doesn't work well. Might want to work on colors. And overall it looks like a part cut out of a bigger image. Both images get the theme in there nicely. Hmm, I don't know why but it looks "simple" to me. Not saying its bad, in fact its better than my stuff but I think it need a better "unique" effect and style. Let's start with the signature: it feels somehow empty. It just doesn't flow. From what I can see of the background, it looks like the original image was a stock, not a render. Using stocks in a signature is an art form that I can appreciate, but one that lends itself more to photographs or live-action movies. There doesn't seem to be any color manipulation beyond brushes; this could have used a gradient map or two and it would have thanked you for it. As for the text, I'm not fond of the filter applied to it or the placement. I don't have much to say about the avatar. It looks like you made a new document, stuck your signature in that document, shrunk it to fit, and changed the text. Maybe applied another color filter or two, but it doesn't show much effort. The use of the font and the effects really lowed the quality of this set. SO text + affects = Dangerous! ![]() Totals: 57/100 83/100 56/100 55/100 ------ 62.75 Comments: Nothing really flows together, it all looks cut and pasted on top of each other. Colors aren't working too well either. Practice on blending things into each other so it looks like one image and not several. Nice effect, and character choice; but the lens for brightness look is a bit oo much. It'll be nicer if the text font is not too simple. Beautiful set. This could have been an awesome sig. The concentric circles in the background would have been a nice effect, if you had used a different image, one that didn't clash with the background quite as much. Also, the colors in this sig are all over the place. A gradient map or two to unify the colors would have been appreciated, I'm sure. The lighting is a good effort, but the rest of the sig doesn't share the highlight from the very bright light source. Also, the bottom block, it seems like you didn't have enough space taken up by the render, so you just kind of put that on there. I like the avatar more than the sig, although it's still a bit 'safe'. The choice of the render was good but in the end this set doesn't have much of work. the image + the piano below the signature wasn't a very good choice. ![]() Totals: 87/100 85/100 81/100 96/100 ------ 87.25 Comments: Sharp and contrastry, I like that. It does look a little cutout around the frame. Needs some tweaks to make it look more like a standalone image. I gave the theme score a little lower than most of the entries because you do need to study it a bit to realize it's music orientated. Unless you know that character of course. Job well done. I like this one. I like the music score in the background, it shows effort and style on your part. I would have liked to see the render blended with the background more. There is some good C4D placement here, but mayhaps erasing it over her face? Colors work well in this, but because of the volume meter comes with the render, incorporating some yellows and reds in the background or other places in the sig would have tied it together even better. The "Melodies of Life" text seems out of place to me, the color doesn't seem to match anything else on the sig. I'm not saying it's bad; text placement is always an odd thing to deal with. I would have gone with a thicker border. If you're going to remove the render from the border to make it stand out, it helps if the border is noticeable. I will have to say though, taking the finished sig and cramping it into a 100x100 square does not an avatar make. I like what you did with it after you shrunk it down, but a good complementing avatar is more than just a copy of the sig. Really good work! Just messed a bit with "the rays of lights" and she isn't really singing ._.; ![]() ![]() Totals: 78/100 81/100 77/100 83/100 ------ 79,75 Comments: I think in the banner her face is a little too bright. To me it looks like it's almost finished, but not quite. Nice one, could be better if you make the effect looks lively. At first glance, I liked this sig, so you've got that going for you, which is nice. After closer inspection, I noticed some flaws. The first and most obvious: the scanlines. I can appreciate scanlines as much as the next guy, but it has to be done tastefully to have the right effect. Putting it on over the entire sig doesn't do that. Maybe use the effect on only the background instead of all of the sig. Speaking of the background, it doesn't work well in my opinion. This could largely be because the render is not blended (except for at the top with the lighting, more on that later); it looks like it's two different images put together with scanlines put over the top. The contrast between the visual noise of the background and the anime render doesn't work well together. Something should have been changed to meld the two together. Now for the lighting: I like it, somewhat. There was a good effort here, and I like the C4D near her hair. However, the lighting is in the wrong place. If you look at her guitar, and the pleats in her skirt, the light source in the picture goes left-to-right, while the lighting you have provided goes right-to-left. When adding lighting to a sig, always take into account the light source implied by the picture. Finally, the text placement is off, but at this time I don't have any suggestions for where you should put it. Okay, after all that, time for the avatar. You're the only person that used a different picture in your avatar, and as such you had to put extra effort into it, and as such you get bonus points. In spite of this, the sig and avatar don't quite match well. They seem like completely different styles, and the only thing that really matches the two are the font. Either way, bonus points. Great work! Messed up with the text in the signature [it flying! it is like out of the composition ] and the excessive lighting in the signature. ![]() Totals: 68/100 84/100 81/100 95/100 ------ 82/100 Comments: It looks very pixelated, and oversharpened. The frame doesn't look good. And overall, it needs some more work. It looks great, I like it. Just don't overdose the effect/brightness. The first thing I noticed in this sig was the border. It's kind of funny, because when you don't look at the border, it gives the sig a good effect. But when you do, it just stands out in the worst way. It's really very odd. Anyway. I like the color in the sig, but it's a little too warm for me. The C4D on the right seems a little out of place, as well. I like the background you've given it, it complements the flow and let's the render stand out where it needs to. Because the guitar is the focal point of the signature, I would have liked to see more things done to it. For the sharpness, I like the level it's at on most places in the sig; it has the effect but it's not over done. In areas with a lot of lines right next to each other (most notably, the hand at the top) the effect loses its touch. I like the text placement. Good job on this one. For the avatar, I like the scanlines. Again you've done a good job of letting the render stand out while having a nice background for it. What's up with the line going through his chin though? I'm not quite as fond of the text in the avatar, but it's still good. VERY Good Set! Mastered his tecnique and did a awesome work! I just didn't like the glowing border... It could be very well without it >w< ![]() ![]() Totals: 89/100 80/100 82/100 80/100 ------ 82.75 Lots of details in this one, nicely balanced colors. The color's doesn't seem to match well in my opinion. Try to add some effect to the text and different font text too. Could be better. Still a nice set though. I like the colors in your sig. It matches very well with the render, good job. I like the splatter brushes at the bottom as well. It helps blend the render in, which I would have liked to see more of at the top of the sig. The more I look at the background, the more I like it. The scanlines creating a music sheet for the notes was a clever idea. The bottom left part of the background has more shapes packed into it, which seems out of place considering the top right part of the background, but combined with the splatter brushes, etc, it sort of works. As mentioned, I like the colors in the sig, but I would have liked to see some lighting on the sig. The highlights and shadows on the girl seem out of place when the entire sig is the same tone. Overall, a very nice sig. The avatar is much like the signature: same pros and cons. One thing I liked which you did was you didn't shrink the background, only the render. As such, the scanlines match up when you put them side by side, which makes this set very complementary to each other. Clean and yet with details. But not so Eye catching. A lot of brushes and too passive to a lively render. Overall: Very good job. ![]() ![]() Totals: 79/100 81/100 75/100 81/100 ------ 79 Comments: I like the colors, but I think it needs more OOMFH. Cute one, but the color seem sad to me? I like the colors in this sig. It seems like the original picture contained a lot of different colors, but the color manipulation you used looks good. I also like the placement of the scanlines. I don't like the placement (or the font) of the text, however. The pianos behind it, combined with the serif font decoration, make it somewhat difficult to read. I think the background could have had a little more manipulation. This looks like a stock, but you can still add things to it. Also, what's up with all the low opacity images put over it? It looks like the accordion has a mouth and an eyeball. A couple of well placed C4Ds or something similar would probably have been better. (Also what's up with the "ï¿¥10000"?) As for the avatar, I like it. The colors are better here than in the sig, but I still like what you did for that. Not much else to be rated. Good work! The old/burned look is really nice! Liked the icon the best! There is only some spots in the signature that don't go well. Could add some Lively colors or more contrast. It would go up with the set [principally with the sig] !!!Please send Ich a PM with your request ^^ Overall comments: Great job everyone. It took me about 2 hours to judge all this. I didn't want to give bad score when all of this looks so great. It was tough since I can't decide how to give out the score fairly. Sorry if my judging and comments is not satisfying enough. Thanks for letting me judge this contest though. I enjoy it. And Thank you all!!! Thanks to all this event was possible! So let's look for the next time, Right? Special Thanks to Miko, Kazuma and Link for being judges and helping out. And Ich who is doing a awesome prize for this event :"D |

dlfy, and al@: thank you! I've tried to download those programs but my computer can't handle the downloads due to crappy connection. I'm sure that if someone sent me a compressed zipped file of photoshop my computer could handle it. last time i tried to dl photoshop, it worked though but it didnt cme with any default tools, fonts or anything. but thanks for the compliments. my sigs need work though considering ive only made about 5 or 6 in total. |

@hase thanks man! XD hmmmm your works...kinda look inconsistent...i mean, some of the font in the avy (like the 1st and 3rd and 4th) looks good, but the rest looks..weird. if you can get the font for your works to be like the ones i said earlier, it's good enough XP still, good job XP i fail miserably in paint. so lol try GIMP...i think it's not that big compared to PS... @stolie thanks! XD @dfnee pretty..i wonder how you smudge ed like that though...use small brushes? @al yes... lol okay...but don' expect it soon, i'mma be busy with exams |

@kira: ive tried different sizes but the same font the only difference of the font is in the sigs when i go from Corbel(used in the avys) to french sript(in the sigs) And ive tried downloading GIMP installer but my computer keeps freezing the download and whenever it does work the file is always corrupted even when i sit there and watch it go from 0% to 100% and thanks. the only tricky part in paint is the font |
