Bwahaha... Intro'ed!! :D

Miura Oharu
Sex: female
Age: 15
Eyes: white
Hair: Icy blue, in a single ponytail that comes out near the top of her head and points down in an arch
Personality: Cold, uncaring, self-centered

She was about to scream at the top of her lungs when suddenly a dome of some sort of unknown blue energy burst out from around her and knocked every student feet away from her. Half of the students were amazed, half of them were scared, and all of them were now thinking twice before poking her. Sorano was all three; she was amazed at what she did, scared of not knowing how to control it, and she was certainly not going to be poking herself.

Chapter XII: Memories

"Akina... I don't think I can believe that so easily," Yukio said softly.
"...But... It's true," Akina said into Yukio's shoulder with her arms wrapped tightly around him. "I wouldn't lie to you, so please believe me..."
"Well, Mamoru being an angel I can believe. Something's just not right with him, and Sorano's proof that there are angels... but all that predetermination stuff? Wouldn't something as fragile as that have broken years ago?"
"I... I don't know..." Akina tightened her grip on Yukio and felt tears making their way out of her again. "Believe me, please...!"
"Help others that need it, huh..?" Yukio thought to himself. "Seems to me you said that to make me help YOU."
"Well, Akina," Yukio said as reassuringly as possible, "I don't necessarily believe you... But I'll at least pretend I do, and I'll play along with this whole thing. Would that work?"
Akina rubbed her face into Yukio's shirt to dry her tears, and nodded silently.
"I don't care... Just... Don't leave me, Yukio-senpai..."
"Yukio! Akina!" Sorano came flying down from above, and landed beside Yukio and Akina in a hurried manner.
Yukio looked toward Sorano, being careful not to disturb the thoroughly distraught Akina that was clinging to him like white on rice.
"Sorano? Have you heard--"
"Yukio!" Sorano interrupted. "I remember! I remember this!"
Akina twisted her head to look at Sorano with teary eyes, and Yukio just stood there quietly and curiously.
"Hey," Yukio suggested, "Talking about how Sorano knows all sorts of secret things before they happen wouldn't be that good with so many suspicious people around. Should we go to a more.... secluded place?"
Sorano jumped up and down and hyperactively agreed, as long as she could tell them what she knew.

"Kane jumped off because he didn't want to kill Akina, and he saved Rini by doing that! And I know you, Yukio! I saw you years ago in heaven!" Sorano said excitedly.
Yukio just gave out a quiet "Uh-huh...?" pessimistically.
"Something's different about you Yukio, something sets you distinctly apart from everyone else on earth!"
"Uh-huh...? What might that be?"
"I... don't remember yet, but I remember that I found out when you came to heaven!"
Yukio simply shrugged. "Sorry, but I don't think I've ever been to heaven. Now then, how do you remember all this?"
"Why did he change the topic so abruptly...?" Akina thought to herself.
"When Akina told me about splits, I started to remember some things... Not everything yet, but I do remember a few things..."
"You gotta be kidding me... We're gonna have--"
"Another Kanaye?" Sorano asked, giggling.
Akina broke her silence and asked quietly, "Sorano... Do you know anything about me? Anything at all...?"
Sorano stood silently for a moment in thought, gathering her memories.
"...Is it about your brother?"
"I didn't know you had a brother," Yukio said.
Sobs were his only reply, with Akina digging her face into his chest again.
"Sorano, what's going on...?"
Receiving no objection from Akina, Sorano sat down and told about Akina's brother, her beating him, and being found by her current parents.
"And," Sorano added, "That cat that you helped in the alley, Akina... That was Bairei, your brother."
Akina looked at Sorano with waterlogged eyes that showed shock, yet compassion and unbelief.
"...T-That was him...? But... How...?"
"He didn't die in the woods... Not entirely. His soul left his body and went to heaven, yet he didn't stay there. By promising he'd return after he helped you, Bairei was allowed to return to earth in the body of an animal that was dying at the time, which ended up being the cat. He wanted nothing more than to find out why you did it and correct the problem... Bairei wanted you to be happy, Akina. After you fed him and he told me about what had happened... He went back to heaven."
Silence gripped the trio for a few seconds.
"...He went to heaven because of me...?" Akina asked quietly, seemingly to herself.
"No, he went to heaven because he found out that you're okay," Sorano replied assuringly.
"You sure about that?" Yukio interjected. "Sounds to me more like he didn't want to believe that Akina would do kill him, so he lived to find her and make himself believe that Akina didn't do it."
"No! He told me, he wanted to be sure that Akina was safe!"
"You can't trust anything someone says. He might've been doing all that to make himself seem better, or to even lie to himself. I've been here longer than you have, Sorano, I'd know better than you."
Sorano quietly backed down with teary eyes, and Akina was staring at Yukio surprised to hear him say what he did.
"Yukio...!? How could you say something like that to her...?"
"It's true, I've been here years more than she has."
"Even if it's true, you shouldn't say it... Or at least say it politely...!"
"Listen Akina, I know what I'm doing. Now I'm getting out of here to find some evidence supporting your innocence. If everyone thinks you killed Kane, it'll only make things harder."
Yukio shoved Akina off of him and walked off back to where Kane was, leaving Akina sobbing with Sorano who was nearly sobbing as well.
"Was Yukio always this mean, and he's just been nice to me?" Sorano asked.
"For a while he was really sad and pessimistic, but I thought he was passed that... Now I'm not sure..."
"He didn't seem very mean to me at all when I was first here... I think he's changed."
Akina partially composed herself and said, "Something's not right with him."
"What do you mean by that...?"
"He's... just not himself... like something's bothering him or," Akina paused, "It isn't him."

"How are things progressing...?" An elderly female voice said.
"Smoothly... a ruffle here and there, but they will soon be ironed out," replied a deep male voice.
"Why are you eager to be rid of this?" another somewhat similar male voice asked.
"You would be eager as well, if you were I."
"It's not just you I'm thinking about... it's all."
"I am thinking of all."
"There is room for objection," the first voice replied.
"There is always room for objection in anything. The color of an object may seem to be different depending on where you stand."
"Let's just hope so..."
"There is no need to hope... I will handle things, do not worry."

* * * * * * * *

It was in the afternoon of the same day, after things had quieted down... Well, not entirely. The students of the school had found out all about the Kane incident, muchly to the relief of some who despised him, and to the major heartbreak of nearly every girl in the school.
Regardless of how each student felt about Kane, however, all of them felt unsafe. If he was murdered, what would stop the murderer from getting them? All were avoiding Akina, now that it appeared she was the murderer... But lots of people knew her, and she wouldn't kill someone. So who was it then?
Of course, people gathered around Sorano when Akina wasn't around, pestering her with more questions (while avoiding poking her, of course).
"Why do you people think I'm the one that killed him?" Sorano whined.
Of the two students surrounding her, both male, the shorter replied.
"We-- or at least I-- don't think you did it, I just want to know what's been going on recently! You're an angel, right? You should know this stuff!"
"I... Just give me some time, I'll try to find out...!"
"Hey, do you know things other people don't?" the other student asked.
"L-like what?"
"Oh, I don't know, anything."
"I-- Umm, sometimes I can tell what's going to happen before it happens..."
Both replied with surprise and a hint of intrusion, and asked how she could.
"Umm... I'm not sure, something to do with predetermination..."
Shortie just stood there in awe, while the taller thought briefly and replied unsuringly.
"If the stuff we do is predetermined, how can you influence what we do and still have us on a predetermined path?"
Sorano couldn't answer; she could tell what they would say next usually, yet he had a good point; How could she tell after she's influenced their lives?
"I... I don't know, that's... Something I didn't think about..."
All were silent but shortie; he didn't even pay attention to what was going on.
"So angel, what's your name?" the tall one asked.
"Watanabe Sorano... I live with Yukio, so he said we're a family."
"Masuda Jun, pleased to meet you. I sort of know Watanabe, so I suppose I'd better get to know you as well."
Sorano lowered her face and stuttered.
"P-pleased to m-meet you..."
"Gah, Watanabe's so lucky, he gets to live with an angel... You are an angel, right?"
Sorano looked up and noticed how much taller than her he was; everyone here was taller than her, but he was tall. His hair was black and short; short enough he never combed it and it still looked fine. He had a bruise on his cheek and his hands wore worn, signs of a fighter.
"So, are you?"
"E-- Uh, yeah, I think..."
Shortie interrupted again with excited hyper comments all slurred together, all of which related to telling Sorano to fly for proof. His reply was a fist in the face from Jun, leaving him flat on the ground. Sorano just stood there with shock and fear.
"Don't worry about that happening to you," Jun said sternly, "Women and children aren't the kind of people I punish."
"...Punish?"
"He was being a moron, he deserved a punishment."
Sorano said nothing to that, and decided to think carefully before saying anything else to him or around him.
"Anyway Sorano-- I can call you that, right?-- Is there anything I can do for ya while I'm here?"
"He's pretty blunt about things, isn't he...?"
"...You want to help me?"
"Of course, first impressions are the best impressions to make."
"People around here think that a lot, don't they...?" Sorano thought silently while trying to think of the best words to say.
"N-No, I think that... I'm fine for the moment... but thanks for the offer!"
"No prob," he said shortly. "What's your alibi for killing Shimizu?"
Sorano stuttered briefly, and said "I don't know when he died... But I know that he killed himself..."
"Oh, he killed himself eh? Why on earth would he, the luckiest guy on earth, do that, huh?"
"I.... I don't know why..."
Jun simply shrugged. "You seem like an honest little girl, so I'll trust you for now. I'm off to eat lunch, so I'll see you around." And with that, he was gone.
"He's so direct and brief... almost like Mamoru, but he's nicer... at least I hope he is..."

* * * * * * * *

"How on earth am I gonna find evidence with things like this?" Yukio thought to himself. What did he have to work with? A dead body, a crying girl, and a biased school?
"What are you doing, Watanabe?" a semi-deep female voice asked waveringly. Yukio turned around to see a student he had never seen before; she had a long, icy blue ponytail and something about her just seemed cold. She was rather tall, possibly an inch or two taller than himself, and her eyes were light and wide. Her skirt was longer than usual, down to below her knees, and her clothes had not been taken well care of; there were small holes, scratches, and what appeared to be bloodstains on her sleeves, likely from the small cuts all over her arms.
"Uh, just looking around right now... Are you new here or something? I haven't seen you before."
"No, I'm not. I just haven't wished to make myself known... Not to you, especially..."
"...Not to me?" Yukio asked uncertainly. "Why not?"
"Erm... I..." She said nothing more, and lowered her face.
"Oh, no... Not another shy girl..." Yukio thought. "Well, what's your name?"
"M-Miura Oharu..."
"Okay then Miura-san, what's up with you "making yourself known" so suddenly?"
"...It hurts too much..."
Yukio silently gestured for her to go on in an irritated manner.
"...Watanabe..." Miura reach behind her back and lifted up the back of her shirt revealing white wings, which she spread out to full length. Then with teary eyes and a quaking voice, she forced out her feelings.
"Watanabe, I really like you!"
And Akina heard it, who was watching Yukio secretly.
