@ Jon-san
You sent me a PM regarding this game so i might as well answer your questions in this thread.

Recently picked up Trinity Universe & having alot of fun with it. It's a mixture of a few games really like most crossover games. I describe it in this way.

If you like Disgaea-like humour, Xross Edge 'require faq' true ending difficulty, Atelier style item creation, 3D versions of FLONNE & ETNA!!!!, Xenogears/saga style 'turn based' battle system with button combonation attacks, pretty decent voice acting (never get tired of english Flonne or Prinny) but original japanese is also an option, good music (catchy theme song which you hear ALOT!!), simple story if you can call it a story (this is from Nisa remember), relatively easy Trophy aquirements (just time consuming) , at its heart a dungeon crawler basically. If you like all of the above than you will enjoy Trinity Universe.

Finished the 1st characters route (recieved a good ending), now on my 2nd playthrough with the other character to try to get the True ending route.

Put a hold on Resonance of Fate cause the optional dungeon 'Neverland' is in my opinion one of the TOUGHEST secret dungeons i've ever played. Typical Enix and their uber enemy filled dungeons. Have 2 characters over Lvl. 250 out of a max 300 with good equipment yet i still get owned in that freakin place!!!! Can get frustrating since the later half is a 'no save' zone!

As for 3D Dot Game Hero. Finished the game on normal & completed the good ending by saving the princess. Started the 'From' difficulty which is basically the games hard mode. Not as insane as '1 hit' Spelunker mode but close enough since at the very start there are difficult enemies you normally find at later stages/levels of the game & you have to aquire all your swords from scratch. The good thing is that the customization you did for the sword is retained once you aquire it again. Spent literally days maxing out the Giga Sword so once i get it again the game will be easier.

By the way a question for DAngel-san.
Have you attempted the 'race' circuit minigame yet? This is perhaps the most dumbass minigame ever created!!! It is so frustrating to complete these 2 courses in the set amount of time to aquire the secret items that come with completing them!! I literally tried for hours on the first one to be under 20 seconds....best i could do was 20.5 / 21 or so......ARGGHHHHHH!!!!!!

Umm, not sure. I was playing on my friend's PS3 yesterday, somehow installed my PSN account on his PS3.
Wasn't there a three limit on doing that? Well, I guess now cause including his PS3, I'd installed my PSN account four times.

Anyways, does anyone know if there's an official Blazblue thread on Gendou.com?
My friend who has the PS3, his roomate got Calamity Tryigger and I played story mode a bit yesterday.
It's pretty fun, looks really attractive, the storyline is really not that in-depth though.
Overall, the more I play, the more I can determine if it's better than Melty Blood or other games.

The combat system is pretty interesting, countering is kinda fishy though.
Maybe I'm so used to playing fighters on the computer like MB back in the days that I'm not used to it on the console.

lol, tried playing BC2 or my friend's MAG and that failed, haven't played a shooter in like a month is REALLY bad, lol.
Honestly, if I can finish Calamity Trigger's story line and play around online (once I get Verizon),
I might pick up Continuum Shift in the future, depends though since I'll be really busy this quarter so who knows.
If I can even survive the Summer and keep me busy, Naruto's next game is right around the corner, so yeah.

Also, when does Continuum Shift come out? Heard a new GG is out soon, too.

Contiuum Shift is coming out the 27th of this month I believe. You ignored my invite to play last night too DA XD I figured you were doing some storyline stuff or something like that. And yea, rumor has it that there's going to be a new Guilty Gear. I'm not sure if there's a BlazBlue thread or not though

Also, is anyone else considering getting Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes in october?

@Haseo - I probably would if I didn't have so much other stuff to get.

@Izumo-san - Thanks. I think I'll hold off on it for the time being however, seeing as how I need to finish up Resonance of Fate and get back to Persona 3 Portable. Then I have to start pre-ordering and paying off all the upcoming games for the holiday season.

After re-watching and reading over some of the stuff from E3 I realize how many upcoming games I should start paying off.

-Gran Turismo 5 Collectors Edition + Steering Wheel
-Valkyria Chronicles 2
-Golden Sun DS
-Atelier Rorona
-Ys: The Oath in Felghana
-Ys Seven
-Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday (I'm calling it PE3, even if they consider it a spin-off.)

[@Haseo] Yeah I found out late, and yeah I was playing Story Mode.
Story Mode in this game, from what I've seen is almost random in length.
And I hate how you actually can't get 100% by either winning or choosing different paths.
You apparently have to loose against certain opponents, which makes sense in real life I suppose,
but that's stupid because it seems like an un-thoughtful idea to make it more interesting.

Haven't played online yet, from what I've seen my friends play online, opponents are either okay, really good, or cheap (with Mu).

But yeah, hopefully I can finish the storyline to see if Continuum Shift would be worth it.
Probably will follow the storyline, but it's different than other games like this (e.g. MB).
If Continuum Shift follows the story mode I guess the story would be a continued stage.

Maybe I'm just a BB fanboy, but I found its story to be incredibly compelling,
something most fighting games I've played have failed at.
The BB story really starts making more sense once you get to that true story thing.
And if you're waiting to finish a storyline to see if a fighting game sequel is
worthwhile, you're not playing the fighting game for the right reasons ;X

Also, if you ask me, the cheap characters are Noel and Jin. Everyone else,
including miss 13, never seem cheap once you get under their hood.

Anyway, 12 days to Continuum Shift :DDD

"And if you're waiting to finish a storyline to see if a fighting game sequel is
worthwhile, you're not playing the fighting game for the right reasons ;X"

So if the storyline sucks, why would I bother buying the sequel?

Not saying Blazblue's storyline sucks, but I don't think it's that in depth (so far).
Can't find anything about a MB vs. BB thread, might make one here if others wanna talk about it.

Continuum Shift I think is already out in Europe, I've seen people playing it on youtube,
and usually Europe gets these games from Japan earlier than anyone else, for some reason... ;P

Noel can easily blitz you, but I like Jin. I love his ice-moves, he's the first character I played story mode with,
so he was the first character to really get me into the combat system of the game.
Also he's really fast, and his combos are pretty cool (though his moveset is small).

From what I've seen I think Rachel is a cheap character. People say she's a bit overpowered as well.

Did Ragna's storymode twice through, still no 100%; might do Arakune next.
Did a training session with his character, and he's pretty cool.
Definitely the most combo intensive character, reminds me of MB's style of combos which is probably why I like him a bit.

But yeah, I'm starting to get the combo system in this game. Eventually when I do, I'll do pretty well in games,
but of course there's always going to be those crazy maniacs online.
Since Continuum Shift is coming out really soon, not sure if I'll get it or not, I want to finish Calamity Trigger soon though, and I might.

BTW, have you played MB before, Maiku?

Finished Resonance of Fate. Last boss was a total bastard. I only managed to beat him because I hit him with Incendiary Ammo which was the only way to stop him from restoring his HP. I'm not even going to try Neverland since I got steamrolled by the first enemy I ran in to on a random encounter.

It was a good game overall, but the story didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. After I finished it I had to read the plot summary off of Wiki in order to completely make sense of it all and for everything I saw throughout the game to click.

Back to Persona 3 Portable now. I don't really have the money for any new games, so I'll be taking this opportunity to catch up.

Sorry I had to go after only 4 matches DA. Dinner came up and then my family and I watched some TV. I'd say we're just about the same skill level.

@DA
I haven't played MB, because, let's be honest, I'm new to the fighting game scene :X
The first Bleach DS game was my first fighter (after Super Smash Bros, Soul
Caliber, and the Naruto games), and after enjoying that immensely, I went and
bought a bunch of fighting games, including Street Fighter 4, Virtua Fighter 5,
and others.
Blazblue is probably my favorite (after Smash). We've got to play sometime D:
I know YOU have a mic :D

[@Haseo] Yeah that sucks. I was partially lagging a bit too. Almost through a fit.
I got raped online too, prior to our fights, people just play so friggin' cheap.
I don't have like any experience at all, too, so like no time to memorize the combos and stuff.

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, how you can only guard-counter after breaking your barrier.
In MB, you can do that, and it's much faster paced (if you've played it). Other than graphics, I think it's still better, but who knows.
I'd TOTALLY buy it for the PS3, but I think they're all on the PS2, right? My PS3 is not BC either, which sucks.

It totally would be a different story with Naruto though, come September, I will rape the world. Maybe. XD

[@Maiku] It's a PC/console game, surprised you haven't played it yet.
Have you heard of it at least, yeah I think you have, everyone has if you've played some sort of 2D fighter.

Yeah I'm about to trade in more games to get more store credit.
Narutimate Shippuuden Storm 2 is going to be full priced (lame), and I have over half of store credit at GameStop,
maybe if I trade in Gundam Musou I can get maybe 20? I might also trade in Battlefield, possibly the first Narutimate Storm.

For sure though, I'm keeping UFC 2010 and 3D Dot Heroes (until I beat it and get more trophies at least).
And I get Verizon this week hopefully, most likely, so I can do better online and whatnot.
I've lagged every time playing any game here at my dorm using Clear.

But yeah, I only have like five games, I'd hate to trade in two to get only one back, but who knows.
If I traded in Gundam Musou 2 though, I'd for sure have enough for Continuum Shift,
but I'm going to pass on getting that, my one friend might be getting that anyways, might play more Calamity Trigger who knows.

I'd rather play UFC 2010 online though or Narutimate Shippuuden Storm 2, and NOBODY here has UFC 2010.

Had to do some maintenance on the old (stress OLD) home PC so didn't have the oppurtunity to be online for a week or two. I could have used the PS3 or work PC but took some time off of work to do things around the house...you painting this & that, moving this & that,...the usually stuff of being a home owner.

Anyways back for the time being so time for everyones fave segment of this thread...."AN UPDATE!".

Trinity Universe.
Obtained the true ending which actually was kinda of a let down since it was so short. There was a short scene & a nice CG & then the credits....*oh well*. Still have some stuff to do for a platnium...an easy game to get it, all it takes is alot of time to do it.

BlazBlue.
Got back into it since some of you guys were talking about it. Spent some time online & i thought i was doing well (won my first match) gained up to level 20. Had a record of 7-3 i believe. Then one day decided to try to reach level 30 for one of the trophies...lets just say i had a BAD day. My record now is ummmm 7-10, i lost 7 in a row & some weren't even that competitive no matter how hard i tried. Some guys are just plain 'cheap' if you know what i mean & some i have to give them credit are actually REALLY GOOD!

I tried to get DAngel-san for a few matches but it seems he has grown tired of the game. It's cool & all...i was hoping to have some fun instead of feeling like it was a chore. To me when you battle someone online, that you don't know...sure i don't know any of you guys but i do KNOW you...if that makes any sense?, it feels more like work than fun.

Anyways if anyone is interested my PSN online ID is izumo_lee. Feel free to drop me a line whenever.

Well that is it i guess. Don't have many games to buy or play for the time being since i'm not that interested in anything coming out these next few weeks...Continum Shift does sound intriguing but i may wait on it for the time being. Or i can pick it up & start practicing for future reference.

Yeah I can only play Blazblue when I'm down at my friend's place, I don't have the game for my own PS3 though,
but yeah I just want to finish the storyline, and it seems I won't be able to, but I don't really care for it anymore.

And yeah, people play really cheap online. This one guy beat me like three times straight using Hakumen, so rahtarded.
But that's the thing about people playing online though, there's always going to be losers who play like f@gs.

I barely even play the PS3 or even turn it on for that matter, so busy this quarter.
Hooking up Verizon though, so hopefully that'll help future online gaming though.

No, but it got an extension on when it's gonna expire.
I'm trying to get the shotgun, but I forget which class it was for.

Yo, get on tonight, I might play a few games then sleep cause I have to wake up early to try to get some work done for tomorrow.

Are there any games that Gamer Club members are playing multi-player at the moment? Both my regular paycheck and my odd jobs paycheck are set to align on the same day this week, and since I have everything paid off and caught up on at the moment I will probably have enough spare cash for a game or two.

DA and Maiku seem to be on the MoH Beta, and Izumo-san doesn't currently have any MP games by the looks of it.

I was thinking White Knight Chronicles, but I believe most people (except Yuna I think) have finished/grown tired of that. Plus, I don't really like the idea of timed quests instead of an open MMO style world.

Making great progress in Persona 3 Portable as well. 29 hours play time and at the moment I'm in the Summer Break period (I just beat the boss that you fight when you meet Strega for the first time). I believe I'm about 1 month ahead of where I stopped playing Persona 3 FES. I think I'm a tad over leveled, because I've been speeding through the game without the slightest bit of a challenge from bosses.

Re: Gendou Gamers Club

@DA I'll see you there! I've been playing a few matches so I'm getting better.

@Jon I've been playing whatever multi-player games people have been willing to
join me in, whether it be SSBB with Inu, BB with Haseo, LBP with the Elites, or
MW2 with some of my friends. If you get WKC, I'd love to join you and Yuna. It's
been too long since I played with either any of you x). Let me know what
games you end up buying.

Speaking of buying games, both Starcraft II and Blazblue: Continuum Shift come out
tomorrow :D I've got Starcraft II pre-ordered (with free 3-day shipping) and I
plan to pick up BB:CS tomorrow in store. It's going to be an awesome week :D

Re: Gendou Gamers Club
Link | by on 2010-07-26 18:51:07
@Maiku - My only concern with WKC is the fact that the 'multi-player' aspect mostly looks like timed missions as opposed to something like an MMO. I still think it would be fun, but it seems like it would also be a little disjointed (doing a mission, booted to the menu to choose another mission, doing another mission, etc). Correct me if I'm wrong, since I haven't seen any videos that accurately describe the MP experience.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Re: Gendou Gamers Club
Link | by Maiku on 2010-07-26 19:12:40
@Jon Well, the missions are long enough that it doesn't feel entirely disjointed,
yet short enough that the fact that they're timed isn't really a huge problem.
You go from a hub world (complete with shops and things of that ilk) to each
individual mission as a party, then complete the mission before returning once
again to the hub. So in that sense, it is indeed disjointed, and unlike an MMO.

Re: Gendou Gamers Club
Link | by on 2010-07-26 19:32:25
@Maiku - That's what kind of turns me away from it. I don't really mind a mission based thing, but I would have rather had an open world. Still, I'll think it over throughout the week. If Yuna and/or you are still willing to play online then I would be willing to pick it up (there's still a single player, so even without MP it would be worth the money).
