Otacon:The gattling gun attached on SC and LC are actually based on China's gattling cannon. Snake:Based on the China's gattling gun from C&C General game? Otacon:Yup.Because of the rising bullets price,they decide to make a energy-based version of it.... Snake:And they did it.So that's how they came up with that gattling gun..... Otacon:That's right.Not only it saves a lot of money spent on their bullets,it also increase the firepower of it. Snake:Hmm...... Otacon:As for the RPM launcher,it was made based on..... Snake:I know.Metal Gear REX.You told me that. Otacon:Right.... Snake:But how exactly the RPM launcher fires those missiles? Otacon:The launchers fires in two ways:Immediate launch and delayed launch. Snake:Fill me in. Otacon:Immediate launch,like said,it fires missiles immediately with railgun built in the launcher itself,propelling the missiles with hypervelocity speed.But it's hard to steer the missile toward its actual target,therefore only used when faced against immobile and slow-moving enemies as well the large sized targets,though LC was the first giant tank to actually dodged it. Snake:LC's extremely high speed cruising speed,huh..... Otacon:Exactly.Now for the delayed launch.This one's going to take a while......Delayed launch,on the other hand,fires like normal missile launchers.From here on,it'll be divided into 3 stage of delayed RPM launch.The first stage is the Launch Stage.It begins when the missiles are fired and ends when it leaves the launcher.The second stage is the Boost Stage.It begins after the missiles leaves its "home" and ends when it takes off towards its target. Snake:Let me guess,the third stage would be..... Otacon:Railgun-Propelling Stage.It begins when the missiles gets close to its target.Using the railgun attached in the mid-section part of the missiles,it propels the missiles at hypervelocity speed and ultimately hits the target. Snake:And it cannot be dodged? Otacon:Most likely,yeah,but can still be intercepted before it enters the third stage. Snake:If it does,it'll be too late for them. Otacon:Delayed launch method are great against fast moving targets,though using this method involves risk. Snake:It'll be destroyed before it can hits its target. Otacon:For one thing,yeah.So they created the RPMs itself. Snake:Why's that? Otacon:Due to the usage of rocket booster,a separate railgun launcher are required to launch the missiles. Snake:I see..... Otacon:It was also made to counter the risk,too. Snake:So,how does that RPM work again? Otacon:Right after their launch,the rocket booster starts up and flies toward their target.Thereafter,the railgun,which is attached on the middle part of the missiles,activates itself and propels the missile with hypervelocity. Otacon:I guess so.....Well,one of them was the Devastator,a cannon that utilizes powerful plasma energy rounds. Snake:No way......That environment-friendly weapon that created a huge hole back then? Otacon:I afraid it is,Snake.LC uses them back there. Snake:It can't be...... Otacon:They don't call it Land Cruiser for nothing.....LC's cannon are designed and created based on the heavy tank from a game,which they also called it Devastator. Snake:You mean the one in Dune 2000? Otacon:Yup,that's the thing.It is known to be capable of destroying enemy tanks with ease,as well as some structures.To add it up,it even self destruct when it's near destruction.But they didn't implant the self-destruct mechanism on LC,though. Snake:Why's that? Otacon:First,the LC is a one-of-the-kind 4-legged cruiser tank.Secondly,it's hard to believe,but LC's armor are impenetrable,even with currently more powerful anti-tank weapon in disposal.And finally,even with the fact that it's larger than a Mammoth tank by 10 times,LC's cruising speed are surprising fast. Snake:A tank that was only made once,impenetrable armor and extremely fast cruising speed......There's more than enough reason to implant the self-destruct mechanism.But why? Otacon:It is because of the cost to create such powerful tank.From what I know,they have spend billions of dollars just to create a LC. Snake:I see.That makes sense.If LC were to be destroyed in the middle of the battlefield,that would mean a huge loss to those who created it. Otacon:Yup.That is why they can't let LC get destroyed by any mean. Snake:Even with that powerful armor? Otacon:There's always a way to take out even the largest opponent,Snake...... Natasha:Here it go,Snake.It'll be a very good warm-up for higher difficulty. -Level 2 description- This training covers the Lv.1 section,as well as some new moves to learn.For this time's training,you'll be doing a lot of killing and knocking out enemies.To add up,civilians will be included in the target list.Killing a civilian accidentally will cost you some point deduction.Be careful.Knock those civilians out to avoid these and score some bonus point.Knocking out enemies will score more points than killing them,but with a small risk of getting hurt in the training. CQC basic #4:To take out enemies/civilians without lethal mean,instead of restraining the enemy like Lv.1 did,throw them on the ground real hard;this should be enough to knock them out.You can also try some throw moves as well.Chocking them enough times will also knock them out as well(that is,if you don't choke them to death!). -TIME LIMIT:5 MINUTES.TRAINING START- Natasha:Snake,how well you do in this training depends on your score this time.Enemies will constantly pop out and attacks you from every directions.Civilians will pop as well.Be careful not to kill them,or suffer some point deduction.Use the skills you have learned from the Lv.1.The next level will be more difficult.Good luck. Natasha:But because of its bulky size and heavy weight,only a few can actually handle it well without problem. Snake:Now I remember how it feels..... Natasha:Because of that,many opted for the lighter HK USP pistols.I'm currently working on the new pistol based on Mk.23. Snake:So,what about the name for it? Natasha:Thought of using HFP-12(Heavy Fire Power-12) for that.But it sounds too plain.Any idea,Snake? Snake:Hmm.....Since it use .45 rounds,how about FFHFP-12(Fourty-Five(45) Heavy Fire Power-12)? Natasha:Sounds good to me.So,it is settled.We'll call this new handgun FFHFP-12 from now on.I'm also working on another .45 handgun,which is lighter than FFHFP-12. Snake:For female soldiers especially? Natasha:You got me,yes.It won't be as great as the FFHFP-12,but still a reliable weapon nonetheless. Snake:Based on the HK USP,I presume? Natasha:Precisely.But male soldiers can also use it as well,since handling a FFHFP-12 will be really tough. Snake:So its name will be..... Natasha:LFFHFP-12(Light Fourty-Five Heavy Fire Power-12). Snake:Sounds like a "brothers 'n sisters" pair of handgun to me.... Natasha: *giggles* You never know until it is done....
